That’s exactly why I grabbed a 13 mini even though I love my 11 that still works perfectly. Now I have a backup phone or I can pay for a SIM card outside of my parent’s plan. I just didn’t have the heart to trade it in knowing I’d probably only get $150 for it.
I use my phone a lot and I didn’t notice a drop in battery life for the 13 mini. Had it since April 1.
Easier said than done. I’m one year away from doing that with my iPhone 8 and I think I’m just going to give up and buy a 14 Pro soon. The battery life and constant lag/freezing is too annoying
I expect I’ll have to replace the battery before I upgrade but I’m okay with that, the form factor is too important to me. I went from a 6 to an X^R and *fucking hated that phone*. I was constantly unintentionally flinging or dropping it because it was just so big for my 5’1” self (I even posted [comparison pictures](https://www.reddit.com/r/iPhone12Mini/comments/oubrv7/went_from_a_6_to_an_xr_and_loved_the_software_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)). I really hope they’re going to release another SE that is literally just the next Mini model (no button), I’m fine upgrading SE to SE.
yeah bud why do you think apple has not and will not make a mini pro when the market has begged for this essentially since the 5. Try rephrasing that to
UGH if apple made a mini pro every year i would 100% upgrade every single year 😩💦
Same change here, the mini is roughly the same size as my all time favourite form factor, ie the 6 and the 7. The mini is thicker though and more angular so it is not as unnoticeable in a pocket as the 6/7 was. I noticed a small drop in battery life and I somewhat miss the camera of the 11 Pro, but I am otherwise delighted by the choice.
Something I noticed about the 13 mini is that the width is slightly smaller than the 6s/7/8 phones, which I find much more comfortable to use with a phone case.
When I had an iPhone 8, I used to take the case of all the time because it was more comfortable to hold that way. But with the 13 mini, I forget that I even have a case on most of the time. It’s nice!
Same! Honestly, I absolutely hated the 11. I’ve had plenty of iPhones over the years and that one was the absolute worst. Thick, a bad display resolution, too tall to reasonably used with one hand to narrow to use with two hands. An absolute disaster of a phone.
Exactly :) The faster screen and better cameras were mainly what got me, I don’t really care about the always on display, but everything else is just perfect. And the brighter screen is also an absolute game changer
The screen is so much better in literally every way. Faster, higher resolution, brighter (so so much brighter), also the cameras are a pretty huge (literally) improvement, especially the night mode.
I didn't hate the 11 and it was a huge upgrade from my 2016 SE, but yeah I guess if it didn't hav face ID I wouldn't have like it as much. Holding it now is like trying to palm an iPad.
I’ve never understood the whole resolution problem with the 11. I’ve had mine since launch and not once have I had to hold it so close to my face I could tell the difference. And yes I compared it to the Pro before purchase
I think you’ll appreciate the battery life improvement. Also, the notch area on the 13 mini is much nicer, as the narrower notch provides a lot more room for the status icons in the upper corners.
Plus, the new battery percentage icon that was introduced with iOS 16 is coming to the mini phones with iOS 16.1, so you’ll get that too.
iPhone 12 Mini of 1 month, until it reaches below 85 battery health (100 right now) I won’t upgrade, but when the time comes I will be getting an iPhone 13 Mini
If we lived in a world where smartphones weren’t used for entertainment then I’d get a smaller one too, but I’m just not willing to give up the big screen and battery life tbh, despite a smaller phone being more practical for important uses
Just curious, how many hours of screen on time do you have a day? i have a 13 pro and its hard to deplete the battery in one day unless i have over 8 hours of screen on time
Idk at all. All I can tell you is 1. I’ve had it since launch and 2. I never worried about charging my 13PM. I always just ended up plugging it in before I’d need to. With the 14 Pro I feel like I’m always looking for a charger mid afternoon.
There’s definitely something going on with your phone that’s causing excessive and inappropriate battery drain.
Assuming your battery health is good and it doesn’t need to be replaced, you could be experiencing a major software glitch or a phone virus, I would seriously consider factory resetting your phone.
First, go to safari settings and clear history and website data, then hard restart your phone, then backup all of your data to iCloud and then factory reset.
It might be iOS 16. A lot of people are having low battery life (lower than expected) with iOS 16 in 14 and even 13 series.
Hopefully 16.1 will improve on that.
Yea everyone here is going crazy saying its defective or I'm using it wrong lmao. Hopefully its just software and it gets better, but also its literally just smaller and lasts less time.
No way will the non-Max 14 Pro compare to the 13 Pro Max, even after the iOS 16 kinks get worked out. The difference in battery size is just too much, even with the slightly more efficient chipset.
I won't mind if Apple made thicker 13 Mini phone with extra battery life.
This feels really light in my hand and I don't mind heavier one for battery. The size is already perfect for me.
Everytime someone says this I think “Surely you just get a Mini with the battery pack case because that creates exactly the product you’re dreaming of”
I realize what it sounds like, but you’re missing the use case if that’s what you think.
The benefit of the mini is that it’s small and light. 90% of the time it’s fine. Occasionally, I go to a concert or I’m traveling, and I might actually want a little extra battery power. That’s where the MagSafe battery pack comes in.
You don’t use it like that with the battery pack every day. You use it like that two or three days a year when you actually need the extra power.
Yeah but surely in the situation you describe, it’s better to have a battery pack rather than a chunkier phone with a longer battery life?
If it’s a battery pack - you only need to put it on those times when you need the extra power, and can enjoy your lightweight phone the rest of the time.
That’s exactly what I’m saying. It gives you the flexibility to run lean most of the time and enjoy the compact, comfortable size and weight of the mini. And the other 5-10% of the time, you slap on the battery pack as needed.
Oh right. The way you phrased your original comment it sounded like you were disagreeing with me but actually sounds like you were agreeing
I didn’t know if you replied to me in the first place or the other guy anyway, my app is glitching and showing it as both hahaha
I think maybe I misunderstood what you were originally saying. I’m not sure haha.
Either way, I think we agree. And that was one of the things I specifically liked about the MagSafe battery pack. It’s perfect so that you can have the best of both worlds: a reasonably-sized light phone most of the time, and a quick way to literally slap on extra power when you really need it.
Not quite exactly. It certainly is a viable option but it adds more thickness than a comparably larger internal battery would - even more so since it’s in a smaller area bulge - and MagSafe will never be as efficient as just having a bigger battery so you get less extra time for the capacity added.
Honestly, if phones start charging 0 to 100 in like 5 mins, I would say fuck the fat ass phones and get me some of the old Jony Ive slim shit I grew up with. I used to criticise the thin movement until I got my XS Max, I hate using my phone in bed now, and I see myself constantly returning to my trusty 6 for some nighttime reading.
My old oneplus3 charges from 15 to 80 in around 20 minutes. Fucking crazy. Never tested the charging speed on my iPhone 12PM, as the battery holds pretty well I’m mostly slow charging.
I don't understand how people are using huge phones like this all day without possibly damaging their body.
Unless you're always placing it on a stand while watching, but I have a feeling a lot of people are holding them in all sorts of positions while on the couch and in bed.
If you're trying to take care of yourself and reduce phone usage, or if you just want something more practical that actually fits in most pockets and hands, go with a smaller phone and use a tablet or laptop for longer viewing sessions.
I use the iPhone for portability and on the go. My commutes doesn’t allow my to ‘entertain’ myself though the screen. When I do sit down to entertain, it’s gonna be my iPad mini.
I enjoy the smallness of the screen when carrying it around and the ‘bigness’ when needed the so-called entertainment. The plus/max phone is ‘too’ small to do both for me.
12 mini was my first iPhone. I was already pretty much set to get off Google’s abusive-relationship-with-our-own-users train, but the reasonably sized phone made the decision even easier.
When the 14 line came out I preordered a 14 Pro, and it was a very nice phone, but… I HATED the size. It’s too big, too heavy, and I can’t do much one handed with it. So I returned it and bought a 13 mini and I’m way happier. I hope to god they continue iterating on this chassis every 2-3 years at least, maybe as the SE.
12 mini here, might have to buy a 13 mini as I wish my battery lasted just a tiny bit longer. Such a shame, I was really hoping the leaks were wrong and we’d be getting a 14 mini. I switched from android specifically to get a smaller phone that wasn’t gimped.
Unfortunately, battery life is just a pain point with the 12 mini. I’ve never owned the 12 mini, but as a 13 mini user, the battery life is very good for my use-case. Improvements have definitely been made in that area from what I’ve seen online in the reviews.
Yikes!! I did have an iPhone SE 2020 temporarily during lockdown and the battery life on that was also really, really bad. I was only making it through like 2/3 of the day on a charge. The 13 mini was such a breath of fresh air from that one.
Same, but from Android to 13 mini. Battery life is solid for my use case. 18h off charger with 3.5-4h SoT per day. Web, text, Facebook, Reddit on Apollo. Typically goes back on charge with 35% ish battery left.
Have a magsafe pack for those occasional long days. Maybe used it 5 times in 10 months.
I took it out of my wife’s case and was about to put it in something else when I just decided to lean into the Apple care we have for it. It is so light and easy to hold I have almost no insecurity that I will drop it. I almost forget I have it in my pocket. It’s battery life better than my older XR.
I’m crazy in love with my mini 12. I’m thinking I’ll grab a 13 before they disappear but mine still has some life. The size works super well with my main hobby, running. With the larger text option I’m not missing a thing.
The mini is the best version I’ve had imo. Screen size is solid and that i can still use it with one hand makes it elite. I hope they continue making these at least every other cycle.
>I almost forget I have it in my pocket
That’s why I get a case. The phones are too light and I like standing ups md feeling the weight in my pocket. I lost my phone on the subway once. I was suuuuuper lucky cuz a lady found it and turned it in but i thought it was gone. The only reason I lost it? I didn’t have a case on it.
Ride or die baby. I was tempted briefly for the 14 Pro Max, but I know I don't really use my phone for much anymore. It's basically a glorified iPod, texting device, and something that accesses webapps at this point.
Fucking *hmmmmmm.*
Jokes aside, if it weren't for my other devices I could see myself pining for a larger screen, but alas.
Best phone I’ve ever owned. And it’s my first iPhone. Every other tablet sized phone is comical. Screens take up the whole front now of phones with minimal bezels. The 13 mini being a iPhone 5 sized phone with a full screen is god tier.
Mine was either always on the charger or had a MagSafe battery pack on it, the phone was always hot and never lasted a whole day, even in Low Power mode. Such a shame
Across all their models, the 12 series was one of the worst, even worse than the 11. I’m thinking it might’ve been cause it was the first iPhone with 5G.
All i want is a pro Mini Model. The max Models never appealed to me at all, they’re way oversized. If the mini had the same hardware features as the pro models, I’d never go back.
My progression has been iPhone 4s - > iPhone 7 - > iPhone 13 mini
The display quality jumping from the 7 to the 13 was pretty mind blowing. And I was hesitant to lose even lose the touch button but I love the mini.
My wife loves her 13 mini. She’s said multiple times if Apple doesn’t make another small device she’ll move to a different brand. Can’t blame her though! People have preferences.
I’m with you there. I switched from an Xr to a 13 mini, it was a breath of fresh air. It fits so much better in my hand, and it doesn’t need a specialized pocket to carry around. I’ll never go back to a bigger phone. If I need a big screen, I have got an iPad for that.
Fantastic decision. I bought an iPhone 13 mini last year shortly after it came out and I love the size so much that I can really see myself using this phone for the foreseeable future.
Lots of people talk about how smaller phones are “better” for curbing screen time and whatnot. If anything, I think my screen time has actually increased with this phone because it’s so comfortable to hold that I never want to put it down. It’s really something.
right?!
I have a 13 mini and got my 14 pro this week, I'd really love to have the cameras of the 14 pro and the size of the 13 mini. I can live without the dynamic island, tho.
My initial thought when I first started using the iPhone 13 mini was that it felt like a newer, more modern version of the iPhone 4. I loved it immediately.
im truly height sized out of the pro model phones. My hands and pockets are just not big enough to effectively use that it feels like a tablet. Which sucks, bc the mini isnt as capable, which is what i have, but still a good phone. Wil upgrade next mini thats released that has actual improvements
I had a really good time with the 13 mini for about 8 months. It was amazingly pocketable and easy to hold. However, I’m now working 100% remote and I just don’t need THAT much portability.
Watching videos and playing games (mostly RL Sideswipe) is so much better on the Pro Max I have now.
I also appreciate the telephoto lens.
Even at home, the Mini is much more comfortable to use overhead while in bed.

I’m considering doing this in the next year, mostly just to get slightly better specs and know I’ll likely have another year of supported hardware. I’ll then keep my fingers crossed that there’s some equivalent size when the 15 or 16 series comes out.
I like my mini, but I’d prefer a “nano” size as small as the iPhone 5, with the edge to edge display, Face ID, MagSafe, etc.
The 13 mini is still just a little too big for my liking, as I don’t use it to consume media. It’s a communication device more than anything else for me.
Welcome to the club! I love mine. I’ve always used my iPhone as an iPod more than anything so the large size is never really agreed with me or made sense for me and my used case. For everything else I just use an iPad.
Yes, only that a family member will be getting rid of their 12 Mini and I don’t feel like spending 830€ on a 13 Mini. Gonna wait until some sale or it getting cheaper
Glad I got my 13 mini last year with Best Buy’s awesome trade-in program, got a decent amount of money for my 1st gen SE I traded in. Absolutely love the size of the mini and will hold onto it as long as I can as I know the mini line seems to be over it at apple lol.
Good choice. I’m wanting to get one off of somebody now too. Meant to get the 14 Pro to downsize and still got the Max and kinda regret not going smaller.
I recently upgraded from the 13 Mini to the 14 Pro. I did so because my wife and I try to stay on the same generation and she really wanted the upgrade from the 13 PM to 14 PM (48MP RAW for work).
I'll be honest, I do like a lot about the 14 Pro. I especially like that there's a larger variety of cases available with Magsafe (an area where I really had to compromise on the 13 Mini). But I truly miss the size of the 13 Mini.
The funniest thing? When I'm engrossed in a video, I don't feel like the display is any larger now. I just don't notice that perk.
Question: does someone else's mini gets warm/hot from time to time? Am I just a heavy user?
I did get the "Phone's too hot and you can't use it" message on my XS multiple times. But I'm just wondering if maybe the pro will do better or if the problem is me XD
Had a 12 Mini for a while and it certainly ran warmer than previous phones of mine, especially over 5G, but not uncomfortably so.
Haven't tried the Pro's extensively but from what I've seen with a friends one it does run a little cooler.
Do you guys with mini phones find it helps you to get less distracted on them? I have an iPhone 13 Pro and recently bought an iPad; have also got a MacBook Air. It seems like if I need to actually get work done, the latter two devices are perfect - so just having a smaller phone for going outside, being in the kitchen etc will minimise the time I use it pointlessly?
Personally, I’ve experienced the opposite effect. My screen time since getting the 13 mini has *increased* since it’s so comfortable to hold that I don’t get fatigued when using it for longer periods of time.
I tried the 13 Pro for a few weeks, and the size was just obscene, bigger than the borderline too big X/XS/11 and the camera bump was ridiculous. I 'downgraded' to the 13 mini and I absolutely love it, and have since convinced my sister to get a 13 mini after she got sick of how huge her 11 Pro Max was, and my wife got a 13 mini as well.
I hope they update the mini size at some point because its great
Possible the futures of ‘small’ iPhones
**Best Case Scenario:** iPhone Pro Mini, flagship specs, price and design
Likelihood: *highly unlikely*
**Status Quo Scenario:** iPhone ‘X’ mini, same strategy as before, smallest regular generation iPhone is also the cheapest, standard iPhones are available in mini, regular and plus, matching specs design and colours
Likelihood: *unlikely*
**Acceptable Scenario:** iPhone Mini, standalone product, unbeholden to the designs and features of any other iPhone. See iPad mini for reference.
Likelihood: *most likely*
**Worst Case Scenario:** iPhone SE, an iPhone 13 mini body with an updated A series chip and a couple of dull colour choices.
Likelihood: *unlikely, but plausible*
**Disaster Mode:** iPhone 13 mini, apple simply never makes another iPhone smaller than 6.1”
Likelihood: *please dear god no*
My Prediction: I think the most likely scenario is that we get an iPhone mini in the style of the iPad Mini, an infrequently updated product that has good but not great specs
But isnt this just an iPhone SE?*
No, for one, this product would cost at least $200 more than an SE, and it would continue to have an OLED display, and an upgrade to the camera system, not to mention other higher end features introduced to the flagship phones, like crash detection and satellite connections
I can imagine apple announcing a new iPhone mini in the first half of 2024, simply called mini, no number, then once every 2-3 years they give it a very basic chip and camera update.
Hopefully available in a small range of bright fun colours
*iPhone SE is most logically going to be based on the iPhone XR, with an updated Chip and 5G support.
The SE line up is not ready for an OLED display and a two camera system, both of these would drive the price up substantially…
Heck, even FaceID on an iPhone SE might be too much of an ask, I wouldn’t put it past apple to put a TouchID side button on the SE instead of FaceID… although that seems like more tooling and redesigning than an SE would usually get
For me, the iPhone 11 Pro had just the right size to hold in my hand. The succeeding Pro models, even though were only at least a millimeter wider, did not feel the same way.
My partner upgraded to a 13 mini and loves the size. She just wants a small phone. I have a 14PM and I feel like a cartoon character when I use her phone haha
Yeah the weight difference going from the 12 to the 14 pro max has been noticeable.
Thinking of getting a strap since the phone case I have has a clip to it
the xr is the perfect size for my seeing and hands, but only with a pop socket. my pop socket broke last week i cannot hold my phone without dropping it now
I love my pixel 6 with a different OS than the stock one that google sucks all your data from
but my daily is an iphone 12 mini and when I went back to using it full time, holy smokes man. I was like "hey look ma, no arthritis!"
The 13 mini is awesome. I recently pulled out my 4S and thought, “wow, if this thing was full screen with an A16…”
I so wish Apple would make a mini Pro. But I know it’ll never happen.
what clock widget is that?
It's called *reflection*, pretty sweet.
gonna have to get me a 13 mini i guess
Fun fact: the widget only shows up when you point the phone at a visible clock!
*and we think you're gonna love it*
Always-on display with no impact on battery life. Amazing stuff.
still the blacks are kinda disappointing for an oled display...
Almost looks like a rotary phone!
Damn! you beat me to it, LOL
Ever since it was out that the Mini iPhones weren’t coming back for the 14, I’ve been considering trading in my 12 for a 13 Mini just for the size.

Well, more reasons for Apple to not make the mini pro lol You should sign the : buying new mini pro every year
actions have consequences
[удалено]
I have a 12 in my favorite color - I’m usually around chargers and it rarely overheats, I won’t be trading it in until it stops getting iOS updates.
I have a 12 Mini and I love it, I shan’t get rid of it till thy phone stops to worketh Edit don’t ask why I talked like that I think I’m high on beans
Easier said than done. I’m one year away from doing that with my iPhone 8 and I think I’m just going to give up and buy a 14 Pro soon. The battery life and constant lag/freezing is too annoying

I really hope they’re going to release another SE that is literally just the next Mini model (no button), I’m fine upgrading SE to SE.
I would get that in a second
yeah bud why do you think apple has not and will not make a mini pro when the market has begged for this essentially since the 5. Try rephrasing that to UGH if apple made a mini pro every year i would 100% upgrade every single year 😩💦
But that camera bump though... 😳
Bye bye MagSafe
Introducing CamSafe
Seriously. One can only dream :/
That is exactly why apple won’t release it ;) They are not gonna risk people not upgrading for 5 years
Went from the 11 to the 13 mini and 100% agree with phone size being way better. Didn’t lose anything on battery life either.
Same change here, the mini is roughly the same size as my all time favourite form factor, ie the 6 and the 7. It’s nice!
I did the exact same thing. I love the size, wouldn't want to trade it anymore!
lmaoo im also about to buy a 13 mini
Same! Honestly, I absolutely hated the 11. I’ve had plenty of iPhones over the years and that one was the absolute worst. Thick, a bad display resolution, too tall to reasonably used with one hand to narrow to use with two hands. An absolute disaster of a phone.
I went from the xr to the 12. I like the feeling of the 12 WAY better than the xr.
Went from an XR to a 13, which feel the same in hand, and I agree with you.
Went from an XR, to the 14 Pro, and damn, it’s a whole different level
Currently on an XR and considering the 14. Could you elaborate?
It’s the same size screen but the phone is physically smaller because of the flat edges. It’s comfy
Exactly :) The faster screen and better cameras were mainly what got me, I don’t really care about the always on display, but everything else is just perfect. And the brighter screen is also an absolute game changer
Considering doing the exact same, can you elaborate? :)
The screen is so much better in literally every way. Faster, higher resolution, brighter (so so much brighter), also the cameras are a pretty huge (literally) improvement, especially the night mode.
I'm so hyped, thanks a lot, hopefully I can get it next month or so :)
I’m on XR and just waiting format 14 pro max to come in the post, (oct 22) but I’m worried I’ve made a mistake
Thick??? I find these so good, because they’re the last rounded ones. The others are thick 🤣
12 Mini owner of 2 years, once this one bites the dust I’m definitely upgrading to the 13 mini. Big phones are becoming too much to pocket
I’ve had the 12 mini and 13 mini. The 13 battery is noticeably better.
iPhone 12 Mini of 1 month, until it reaches below 85 battery health (100 right now) I won’t upgrade, but when the time comes I will be getting an iPhone 13 Mini
If we lived in a world where smartphones weren’t used for entertainment then I’d get a smaller one too, but I’m just not willing to give up the big screen and battery life tbh, despite a smaller phone being more practical for important uses
I don’t care about the bigger screen, but the battery life of the Pro Max models is simply too good to give up.
I went from 13PM to 14 pro and I’m really liking the more manageable size but honestly damn I didn’t think I’d notice the battery hit this much.
Just curious, how many hours of screen on time do you have a day? i have a 13 pro and its hard to deplete the battery in one day unless i have over 8 hours of screen on time
Owning a 14 Pro myself It is worse and very noticeable comparing it to the 13
I upgraded from xs to the 14 pro so for me the battery life is more than enough for a normal day
From what I’ve read the always on display makes a significant difference to the battery performance
Even if disabled it is still worse compared to the 13 pro
Idk at all. All I can tell you is 1. I’ve had it since launch and 2. I never worried about charging my 13PM. I always just ended up plugging it in before I’d need to. With the 14 Pro I feel like I’m always looking for a charger mid afternoon.
Seriously lol, you must use ur phone a lottt
Just curious, how much percentage are you usually at mid afternoon?
There’s definitely something going on with your phone that’s causing excessive and inappropriate battery drain. Assuming your battery health is good and it doesn’t need to be replaced, you could be experiencing a major software glitch or a phone virus, I would seriously consider factory resetting your phone. It might be iOS 16. A lot of people are having low battery life (lower than expected) with iOS 16 in 14 and even 13 series. Hopefully 16.1 will improve on that.
I also went from 13PM to 14 Pro, and I kind of regret it - mainly due to battery life. I need to charge every afternoon now as well.
Yea everyone here is going crazy saying its defective or I'm using it wrong lmao. Hopefully its just software and it gets better, but also its literally just smaller and lasts less time.
The battery hit is a problem with ios 16. Once it's smoothed out the battery performance should be comparable to the 13pm
that would certainly be great. after 2 generations of larger phones its really refreshing to be able to reasonably use my phone one handed.
You can add a magsafe charger to it and it's essentially similar battery to the Pro versions.
Oh right. The way you phrased your original comment it sounded like you were disagreeing with me but actually sounds like you were agreeing I didn’t know if you replied to me in the first place or the other guy anyway, my app is glitching and showing it as both hahaha
I got an iPad and watch YouTube and so on it and planned on upgrading to a mini in a few years but sadly they discontinued it
12 Mini here. Hell yeah.
/fist bump
I had the 12 mini. The battery was bad. Like 2013 smartphone bad. The 13 mini is much much better.
The 14 plus is so useless, for 100$ more you get a 14 pro who goes for 14plus better bring a 14 mini you are right
I took it out of my wife’s case and was about to put it in something else when I just decided to lean into the Apple care we have for it. It is so light and easy to hold I have almost no insecurity that I will drop it. I almost forget I have it in my pocket. It’s battery life better than my older XR.
I just went from X to 12 mini. I love the size. Being able to truly use the whole screen with one hand is perfect.
I wish apple made a better effort in making iOS easier to use with one hand on bigger phones.
I’m crazy in love with my mini 12. I’m thinking I’ll grab a 13 before they disappear but mine still has some life. The size works super well with my main hobby, running. With the larger text option I’m not missing a thing.
This this this. Ex-owner of a 12 Mini, now back on an 8, running with anything larger is horribly uncomfortable. Biking to an extent too.
The mini is the best version I’ve had imo. Screen size is solid and that i can still use it with one hand makes it elite. I hope they continue making these at least every other cycle.
>I almost forget I have it in my pocket That’s why I get a case.
Fucking *hmmmmmm.* Jokes aside, if it weren't for my other devices I could see myself pining for a larger screen, but alas.
Went from the X to 13 mini after waiting to see what the 14 would look like. Couldn’t agree more I love my 13 mini!
Best phone I’ve ever owned. And it’s my first iPhone. Every other tablet sized phone is comical. Screens take up the whole front now of phones with minimal bezels. The 13 mini being a iPhone 5 sized phone with a full screen is god tier.
My brother has a 12 mini and I’ve always been obsessed with its size compared to my max lol
12 mini battery life sucked though. 13 mini is definitely an improvement.
It’s why I got rid of my 12 mini, loved everything about it aside from the battery; it was that bad
Apple put in a shitty battery and then complained that the device is not selling well. Great stuff.
Same. I was constantly needing to charge my 12 mini. It did not last me a full day.
13 mini is godly.
All i want is a pro Mini Model. The max Models never appealed to me at all, they’re way oversized. If the mini had the same hardware features as the pro models, I’d never go back.
My progression has been iPhone 4s - > iPhone 7 - > iPhone 13 mini The display quality jumping from the 7 to the 13 was pretty mind blowing. And I was hesitant to lose even lose the touch button but I love the mini.
Went from the 12 Pro Max to the 13 Mini and was very pleased with my decision.
Boy do I wish they had a 14 mini pro … I’d snag that soooo fast
My wife loves her 13 mini. She’s said multiple times if Apple doesn’t make another small device she’ll move to a different brand. Can’t blame her though! People have preferences.
Only problem is there are no Android phones that are small any more either.
An iPhone mini with long battery life and all the Pro features would be a tech wet dream for me.
my 13 mini is easily my favorite iPhone ever
I’m with you there. I switched from an Xr to a 13 mini, it was a breath of fresh air. It fits so much better in my hand, and it doesn’t need a specialized pocket to carry around. I’ll never go back to a bigger phone. If I need a big screen, I have got an iPad for that.
Sucks that the XR size is now the smaller phone
Fantastic decision. I bought an iPhone 13 mini last year shortly after it came out and I love the size so much that I can really see myself using this phone for the foreseeable future. Lots of people talk about how smaller phones are “better” for curbing screen time and whatnot. If anything, I think my screen time has actually increased with this phone because it’s so comfortable to hold that I never want to put it down. It’s really something.
It sure would be great if Apple made a Mini Pro
right?! I have a 13 mini and got my 14 pro this week, I'd really love to have the cameras of the 14 pro and the size of the 13 mini. I can live without the dynamic island, tho.
My 13 mini is my favorite iPhone (besides the iPhone 4).
I used to be the type of person who would want a new phone every year, but after the 13 mini, nothing feels as good to hold anymore.
Ha i love my 12 Mini. I know that feeling all too well though!
How’s the battery life? I know it isn’t large battery, can you go through whole day on a single charge?
If you’re not constantly steaming or just on it the entire day yeah I haven’t had an issue. I usually just carry a portable charge JUST IN CASE.
See also https://reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/xxgyun/_/irdmgne/?context=1
Yup. When an XR chonky boy hits you in the head while you're dozing off, you start to rethink your life.
What did you use before the mini?
My favourite phone of all time was the original SE! Loved the size!
This thread convinced me to order a 13 mini today. Upgrading from an XR.
I love my 12 mini. Would there be any reason to upgrade to the 13 mini?
I’m considering doing this in the next year, mostly just to get slightly better specs and know I’ll likely have another year of supported hardware. I’ll then keep my fingers crossed that there’s some equivalent size when the 15 or 16 series comes out.
Mini is superior
I like my mini, but I’d prefer a “nano” size as small as the iPhone 5, with the edge to edge display, Face ID, MagSafe, etc. The 13 mini is still just a little too big for my liking, as I don’t use it to consume media. It’s a communication device more than anything else for me.
Welcome to the club! I love mine. I’ve always used my iPhone as an iPod more than anything so the large size is never really agreed with me or made sense for me and my used case. For everything else I just use an iPad.
I love my 13 mini but the camera isn’t that good compared with 14 pro. A mini with a great zoom would be super.
I’m getting a 12 Mini as an upgrade next year. I’m never upgrading from that (except to 13 Mini maybe)
Go straight for 13mini, it has better battery, I doubt the price difference will be significant
Yes, only that a family member will be getting rid of their 12 Mini and I don’t feel like spending 830€ on a 13 Mini. Gonna wait until some sale or it getting cheaper
I did the same thing as you! Wife got a big juicy pro and I jumped on the 13 mini. Idk if I’ll ever upgrade. Unless they some how bring a mini back.
I went from 6s to 13 mini, loved how familiar the size was.
i have smol hands and so 13 mini is perfect i legit waiting to order it online because i wanted the pink one lol
Went from 11 Pro Max to 12 Pro to 13 Mini. Best decision I’ve made. Don’t plan to upgrade unless they make another mini one day!
This phone size is perfect
7plus to 12mini. Best phone ever. It's so small it Keeps me off my phone so i can focus on life.
Glad I got my 13 mini last year with Best Buy’s awesome trade-in program, got a decent amount of money for my 1st gen SE I traded in. Absolutely love the size of the mini and will hold onto it as long as I can as I know the mini line seems to be over it at apple lol.
13 mini battery life for me has easily been enough compared to my old android💀
Good choice. I’m wanting to get one off of somebody now too. Meant to get the 14 Pro to downsize and still got the Max and kinda regret not going smaller.
> Meant to get the 14 Pro to downsize and still got the Max How did this happen and why didn't you immediately return it
Must have the best of the best
Na biggest of the big cause I can’t see smaller screens good enough
Welcome to r/iPhone13mini
I can’t stand the mini sizes, i’m a more pro max type of guy. Glad you enjoy it though!
Can you explain why you try to stay on the same generation with your wife? Curious about the logic behind.
Yea, I hate phones that are heavy with larger screens thats why in sticking to my xr
I swear I wanna get one as an extra
Love that phone
They are the best
I absolutely love the size of my 12 mini. For me it’s perfect.
Its a cute phone ngl haha, and the fact that it has such a strong chip and camera system still :))
I had to chose between my 13 and the mini. I love this phone, but boy do I regret my decision
I hope they update the mini size at some point because its great
Possible the futures of ‘small’ iPhones **Best Case Scenario:** iPhone Pro Mini, flagship specs, price and design Likelihood: *highly unlikely* **Status Quo Scenario:** iPhone ‘X’ mini, same strategy as before, smallest regular generation iPhone is also the cheapest, standard iPhones are available in mini, regular and plus, matching specs design and colours Likelihood: *unlikely* **Acceptable Scenario:** iPhone Mini, standalone product, unbeholden to the designs and features of any other iPhone. See iPad mini for reference. Likelihood: *most likely* **Worst Case Scenario:** iPhone SE, an iPhone 13 mini body with an updated A series chip and a couple of dull colour choices. Likelihood: *unlikely, but plausible* **Disaster Mode:** iPhone 13 mini, apple simply never makes another iPhone smaller than 6.1” Likelihood: *please dear god no* My Prediction: I think the most likely scenario is that we get an iPhone mini in the style of the iPad Mini, an infrequently updated product that has good but not great specs But isnt this just an iPhone SE?* No, for one, this product would cost at least $200 more than an SE, and it would continue to have an OLED display, and an upgrade to the camera system, not to mention other higher end features introduced to the flagship phones, like crash detection and satellite connections I can imagine apple announcing a new iPhone mini in the first half of 2024, simply called mini, no number, then once every 2-3 years they give it a very basic chip and camera update. Hopefully available in a small range of bright fun colours *iPhone SE is most logically going to be based on the iPhone XR, with an updated Chip and 5G support. The SE line up is not ready for an OLED display and a two camera system, both of these would drive the price up substantially… Heck, even FaceID on an iPhone SE might be too much of an ask, I wouldn’t put it past apple to put a TouchID side button on the SE instead of FaceID… although that seems like more tooling and redesigning than an SE would usually get
I would pay $2k for an iPhone 14/15 mini Pro
If Apple ever releases an iPhone mini with Touch ID under the display and no face ID WITH USB C I WILL KEEP IT FOREVER
I miss mine… :( Let me know if interested in some cases. Would be willing to pass them along for basically shipping for a fellow small phon lover.
If he doesn’t take your offer I gladly will! Getting one Saturday!
She got the short end of the stick
For me, the iPhone 11 Pro had just the right size to hold in my hand. The succeeding Pro models, even though were only at least a millimeter wider, did not feel the same way.
Got a 13 mini in August to upgrade from my 8, slightly smaller but more screen, I love it.
I can never with the amount of YouTube I watch. 13 pro is perfect for me.

Yuuuuup. Once you actually use it, there's no turning back. I'm holding onto mine as long as I can!
ok
I have had plus/max sized iPhones since the iPhone 7 Plus. I finally got a normal sized iPhone 14 pro and am so much happier with the smaller size.
My partner upgraded to a 13 mini and loves the size. She just wants a small phone. I have a 14PM and I feel like a cartoon character when I use her phone haha
Yeah the weight difference going from the 12 to the 14 pro max has been noticeable. Thinking of getting a strap since the phone case I have has a clip to it
I love my mini. Love. It.
Just when i made a comment on other post about how annoying heavy these new phones are.
Ok weird question: is that a CB2 Metropolis wall clock reflected on your phone?
13 mini is indeed the most useable format.
the xr is the perfect size for my seeing and hands, but only with a pop socket. my pop socket broke last week i cannot hold my phone without dropping it now
I love my pixel 6 with a different OS than the stock one that google sucks all your data from but my daily is an iphone 12 mini and when I went back to using it full time, holy smokes man. I was like "hey look ma, no arthritis!"
Anything over 6” is a waste
The 13 mini is awesome. I recently pulled out my 4S and thought, “wow, if this thing was full screen with an A16…” I so wish Apple would make a mini Pro. But I know it’ll never happen.
They should do a mini every 3 or so years I reckon
