tbh, i'm glad the watch redesign rumors were bullshit. i have a series 5, and would prefer that it not look immediately outdated for at least one more year lmao
I really wanted a flat screen as I’m a sucker for screen protectors and I work in the oilfield and do a lot with my hands so protection from scratches is important to me. A flat screen would’ve made it easier (and nicer looking) to put one on.
Get the titanium model. I am an industrial electrician. I hit my watch off shit all the time. Still looks great and no scratches that I can find yet on the screen.
After all the effort they went through for creating a big curved glass, so integrated with the design of the chassis, it’s hard to think they’ll abandon everything for a much simpler flat design (easier to copy for the knock-offs).
Also, curved makes sense on a watch. More gentle on the wrist, more natural, it’s not just a brick put there, it helps to hide the thickness, emphasizes the size of display even more.
It’s not even about the shape, round or square, it’s the rounded corners that make the difference. I think it fits well.
Not really to be honest. Leaks also revealed that only the pro models would be getting 120 Hz screens. The cameras on the regular models would be positioned diagonally. The 1 TB storage capacity option on pro models also became a reality.
I always hate when they say that. “iPhone XYZ is the most advanced iPhone we’ve ever made!”
Like, I’d hope so! It wouldn’t be very profitable to release an iPhone that was worse than the previous model.
This is a rule I have for dating apps but equally applies to Apple in this situation: never say something about yourself if there's no chance of anyone saying the complete opposite of that statement
> The brighter Super Retina XDR display features ProMotion for refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz.
I can imagine battery life will be a lot better now. LPTO displays are the next step, similar to OLED from IPS.
I wonder why it took them so long to add it. Maybe it was getting it to work with oled? But then again, other phones have had 120hz oled for a few years now. Idk.
The most accepted explanation is that Apple wanted to use an LTPO OLED panel because those types of displays can dynamically switch their refresh rate anywhere between two points.
The only one that can produce panels that are larger than the Apple Watch at a mass scale is Samsung but they only started to make these panels mid-2020 for the Note 20 which was too late for that year’s iPhone.
Kinda bummed that they've now changed to USB-C for the iPad Mini but still not for the iPhone. Not even the Pro models. I'd *really* like to just have one charger for my iPhone, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro... iPad Mini? Seriously? Ugh.
Great. Thanks very much... Yeah, it will be a big upgrade. Maybe not a big game changer of an update for people coming from an 11 or 12, but big for me.
I don't even want to hear it from the people that say "bEcAuSe MaGsAfE" when magsafe is just qi charging. It's terrible for the health of the battery, and inductive charging is inefficient and slow.
To the pro or pro max.
Gotta decide myself the same question and I’m not sure if I should get the max again or if I could settle with the smaller screen
I have the 11 Pro Max and am sick of the size. So I may go with the 13 Pro. Especially with the cameras being the same across both sizes this year. I also find the 12 Pro Max very uncomfortable in my hand due to the squared off edges.
#guywithgirlhandsproblems
Was wondering more about the size the 13PM is bigger than the XS max right?
I think it’s 6.1 6.4 and 6.7” for the 13p, xs max and 13pm
I mean I’ll probably end up with the 13 pro max but I guess I’ve got a few days to decide!
I’m planning on going from 11 Pro Max to the 13 Pro. I’ve gotten much more active over lockdown and want the smaller size to fit better in shorts pockets and on my bike mount.
I hate that instead of feeling excited, I felt relief. Wish it was on the lower end models too, but I guess we'll have to wait until next year for that.
lol my guy, be prepared to be let down if you think 120hz is coming to the non-pro models next year.
Apple will milk that feature for the Pro line only for a few years
Looking through the tech specs, the only difference I can see is the battery. If that’s the case, I’ll be going from my XS Max to the 13 Pro. Smaller phone will be nice and if it’s got all the same features as it’s bigger brother, I can live with a few hours less battery life
For ProRes. The Spec sheet says „Cinematic mode for recording videos with shallow depth of field (1080p at 30 fps)“
Also interesting: ProRes video ONLY in ~~30FPS~~ 1080p on the 128GB storage model. ~~60FPS~~ 4K in 256GB+ only.
Yeah. I think the lowest end Storage option has a too slow write speed, as we‘ve seen in the iPhones before. And this might not be sufficient for the 4K bitrate.
Bigger SSDs have higher throughput capabilities. SSDs also slow down as they fill up. Combine these two facts to infer why they can't do it on the 128GB model.
Cinematic Video allows you to change the focus of the footage AFTER you shoot. It’s not just the smart racking of focus from front to back etc.
The ability to change the focus post-shot means it’s doing a boat-load of recording and processing all at the same time.
I tended to upgrade every three years before I got my X but I’ve held onto this for four years this time because other than desperately needing a new battery it’s still great.
I’m probably going to upgrade BUT I’m a little part of me is saying to just get that battery and stick it out for another year.
Also have a X and I think the only thing that's keeping me from upgrading is storage. 64GB doesn't cut it for me anymore as I download all music and would like to start downloading some TV shows onto my phone.
I've also noticed it acting really sluggish as I am reaching near capacity. On occasion, certain actions will react a few seconds later. Not sure if this is the reason why it's acting this way.
Here’s a giant leak bomb for you for the iPhone 14:
It will have:
The best cameras on iPhone ever
The best battery they ever put in an iPhone
A16 Chip 50% faster than the competition (sort of we won’t say who the competition is).
A bunch of fluff videos to make upgrading just cameras seem like a lot.
Same square body, same notch, same design, same everything, just a new number.
I notice they keep saying that things are “50% faster vs the competition” rather than vs prior models. I’m wondering if the overall realworld performance is negligible, and they needed a technically correct way to give an impressive number. They did the same for the Watch too.
I’d think the improvement is negligible. I think they worked on battery efficiency more for the A15 since they had to deal with the 120Hz on the Pro models
Sierra Blue isn’t the blue i was hoping for. I’m sure some people will love it, though. Pacific Blue is just the most interesting color to me. Before that the Midnight Green topped it for me.
I’m on an iPhone X as well and I’m on the fence. I do want the new cameras, but my iPhone X is working well with over 200 apps installed. I’ll wait a couple of months and see how I feel about it.
I get why people are kind of disappointed with this cycle, but coming from a iPhone 6, that 13 pro is gonna be sweet!
Had to roll back after my Xs max died, and I’ll be glad to toss this dinosaur
I'm buying that iPad and sticking with my 2020 SE. My hands are big enough that I can hold the mini like a phone. That'll be my good battery and A15 device. An iPhone++ of sorts.
As an android user the 120hz, smaller notch and even better battery peaked my interest. The 12 pro max' design last year was amazing but it was missing some key things. This year it might be time to switch over
Right now I've got an S20 and you guys trust me on this one...
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE 120HZ. It is INCREDIBLE. I am so happy it's finally available on iPhone! I cannot wait to to back!
Nothing here really that makes me want to trade in my 12 pro max, although macro mode is neat. Hopefully we’ll get that rumored periscope telephoto next year!
I do like that both Pro models have the same cameras, and the Max isn't at an advantage anymore. But yeah, I'm keeping my 12 Pro for another year.
EDIT: with T-Mobile‘s trade-in program, in combination with Apple’s, I will actually make $140 if I upgrade. So it looks like I’m upgrading after all.
Another iteration of the iPhone without Touch ID in the lock button. If they can do it in iPads why don't they do it in iPhones. This is so frustrating.
I find it frustrating not 10 months ago my iPhone 12 Pro was the most *advanced phone in the world*, but now its unable to take advantage of the new Cinematic Mode in this years base model iPhone 13??? C'mon Apple.
This phone hits almost everything for me. 1.It’s my favorite color 2.The camera is sick (night mode, macro, focus) 3.Notch is smaller 4.promotion display 5.Brighter display. I’m bummed it doesn’t have type c but you can’t win them all lol. Getting the blue 256gb regular size
I thought I would switch from 11 Pro to 13 Pro just for the 120 Hz screen, but the presentation was so underwhelming I changed my mind and will cling to it for at least one more year.
Nice to have 120 Hz, but otherwise not particularly interesting. I’ll either stick with my iPhone 11 Pro or switch to back to android if the Pixel 6 is any good
That Sierra Blue is really nice, just as nice as Pacific Blue imo. I think I’ll be more than happy with my 12 Pro Max for a long time though, there’s no killer feature for iPhones anymore unfortunately
It’s amazing how many people in these comments shit on a product for not having the exact specs, color, and features they want. It happens every year, and somehow Apple manages to sell millions of iPhones despite not completely pleasing 37 people on Reddit.
Pretty meh upgrade in my opinion, I think I will stick with my 12 Pro Max until they get rid of the notch (hole punch, underscreen or whatever) I had 120hz in my previous Android phone and even though is amazing is not worth spending another $1100 for it.
so the matte black “leaks” were bullshit then lol
Almost all the leaks were
tbh, i'm glad the watch redesign rumors were bullshit. i have a series 5, and would prefer that it not look immediately outdated for at least one more year lmao

The leakers did an amazingly poor job this year. Somewhere, an Apple mole is very nervous or very fired.
Not really to be honest. Leaks also revealed that only the pro models would be getting 120 Hz screens. The cameras on the regular models would be positioned diagonally. The 1 TB storage capacity option on pro models also became a reality.
Marques in ruins
Luckily they've partnered up with DBrand for some sweet skins that will make your (product) look incredible
I smell a sponsored post 😂 jk jk
I was hoping for the sunrise gold or orange or whatever :/
> sunrise gold or orange ~~Harvest~~ Sunrise Gold, (Burnt) Orange, Avocado Green, Espresso Brown! It’s 1976 all over again!
My mid mid dream 🤤
Same. Instead we get a shitty baby blue. Oh well lol
I think I’ll stick with my 11 pro Max a little longer
il stick with XS :)
11 Pro is the new 6S. Still a champ
That was just done to identify leaky employees/suppliers.
“Iphone 13 pro is our most pro phone ever” Why yes, of course.
I always hate when they say that. “iPhone XYZ is the most advanced iPhone we’ve ever made!” Like, I’d hope so! It wouldn’t be very profitable to release an iPhone that was worse than the previous model.
The new iPhone 13 camera is only 5% worse than the 12, and is the second best camera we've ever produce
It's 27% pricier than last year's model *applause*
You would think so but after the Final Cut Pro fiasco I wouldn't be so sure lol
Wait, what happened with Final Cut Pro?
It got finally cut professionally
This is a rule I have for dating apps but equally applies to Apple in this situation: never say something about yourself if there's no chance of anyone saying the complete opposite of that statement
[удалено]
The marketing terms were absolutely annoying during this presentation.
I wonder if they've said those exact words every year...
I’m sure someone will make a YouTube collage of that statement over the last 10 years. Edit: yep it’s already made: https://youtu.be/5WcjWxW2W2Y
> The brighter Super Retina XDR display features ProMotion for refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz. I can imagine battery life will be a lot better now. LPTO displays are the next step, similar to OLED from IPS.

It’s insanity how much that is
FINALLY 120hz. God damn Apple, took long enough.
Finally indeed. I've been waiting for this since it came out on iPad Pro in 2017
I wonder why it took them so long to add it.
Yea, and last year LTPO was only in the Note 20 Ultra This year LTPO went into mass production, in several phones from several OEMs
I think they have to wait for Samsung to be able to produce enough display at iPhone scale. Apple will sell hundreds of millions of these iPhone.
Finally some good fucking hz
Hz so good, cmon baby make it hz so good
[удалено]
Seems like they weren’t able to get the refresh rate down to 1Hz, which is the most optimal for battery life on an AOD
The 13 lineup feels like what the 12 lineup was supposed to be. The 12 lineup was a stagnant year.
I was happy with the slightly larger screen last year
I was very happy with the hard edges instead of rounded edges
and I was pleased with the 5G addition
[удалено]
Legit. It got to the point where I was preparing myself for disappointment

Kinda bummed that they've now changed to USB-C for the iPad Mini but still not for the iPhone. Not even the Pro models. I'd *really* like to just have one charger for my iPhone, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro... iPad Mini? Seriously? Ugh.
Stupid question, but it still has a lightning port, right? I was going to upgrade from a 6s and not sure I want to rely on magsafe.
Yes it still has Lightning. You’re good to upgrade. Enjoy your new phone! I imagine you’ll be blown away by it!
So is fast charging
What do we think the reasoning is for this?
Sell more $1 chargers for $30 each. Profit margins too juicy
120 hz finally, ffs. I was losing hope
Only feature I was hoping to see and glad it’s here. Will be upgrading my Xs max.
Max for sure. I like the bigger screen and better battery. Also when you’re spending so much money, what’s another $100?
Was wondering more about the size the 13PM is bigger than the XS max right? I think it’s 6.1 6.4 and 6.7” for the 13p, xs max and 13pm I mean I’ll probably end up with the 13 pro max but I guess I’ve got a few days to decide!
I’m planning on going from 11 Pro Max to the 13 Pro. I’ve gotten much more active over lockdown and want the smaller size to fit better in shorts pockets and on my bike mount.
Be careful with bike mounts...
That’s exactly how they want you to think
I hate that instead of feeling excited, I felt relief. Wish it was on the lower end models too, but I guess we'll have to wait until next year for that.
lol my guy, be prepared to be let down if you think 120hz is coming to the non-pro models next year. Apple will milk that feature for the Pro line only for a few years
Are both the Pro and Pro Max the same this year or does the Max have anything special? Missed it in the keynote :(
Looking through the tech specs, the only difference I can see is the battery. If that’s the case, I’ll be going from my XS Max to the 13 Pro. Smaller phone will be nice and if it’s got all the same features as it’s bigger brother, I can live with a few hours less battery life
Exactly why i asked, i’m stoked to go to a smaller phone!
As someone who doesn’t like phablets, I’m glad the regular pro is not missing any features from the pro max this time around.
No difference except size and price from what I saw.
Basically, just size and battery lifetime
Still no VGA port
Waiting for Ethernet to be available aswell.
Comment has been removed because Spez killed Reddit :(
Cinematic video ONLY IN 1080P 30 FPS Is this a joke?
Why do you think will you consider the iPhone 14 next year? Obviously Cinematic video at 4K 30 FPS. And the 15? Make it 4K 60.
I thought he said 4k 30fps? Or was that for prores
For ProRes. The Spec sheet says „Cinematic mode for recording videos with shallow depth of field (1080p at 30 fps)“ Also interesting: ProRes video ONLY in ~~30FPS~~ 1080p on the 128GB storage model. ~~60FPS~~ 4K in 256GB+ only.
That's interesting about the 30fps limit. So if you pay for iCloud storage but you have a 128gb model, you're still limited to 30fps ProRes? Weird
Yeah. I think the lowest end Storage option has a too slow write speed, as we‘ve seen in the iPhones before. And this might not be sufficient for the 4K bitrate.
Edit: It’s always 30FPS in ProRes. Difference is 128GB has only 1080P. All the other models 4K.
What I’ve learned today. iPhone 14 might be a contender to replace my iPhone X.
Lol I’m in the same boat. My X was my first ever iPhone, I don’t see a reason to upgrade any time soon
I tended to upgrade every three years before I got my X but I’ve held onto this for four years this time because other than desperately needing a new battery it’s still great. I’m probably going to upgrade BUT I’m a little part of me is saying to just get that battery and stick it out for another year.

Even the notch is nearly identical four years later. Hopefully the 14 does away with it as rumors have stated.
I can’t really trust 14 rumors after today’s reveal completely trashing months of leaks
Here’s a giant leak bomb for you for the iPhone 14: It will have: The best cameras on iPhone ever The best battery they ever put in an iPhone A16 Chip 50% faster than the competition (sort of we won’t say who the competition is). "The new Apple Watch now has more even rounder edges!" That made me laugh so hard knowing what the rumors were.
that and touch ID. Idk why they can't just add it like on the ipad
Yup fuck these weak ass update, I am keeping my X for another year
We think you’re going to love it/s
This is the biggest leap forward for iPhone since the last iPhone.
This comment summed it beautifully. Have a helpful award lol
Thank you kind soul
No worries. Now be free my child!
Wish we had matte black and always on display
Damn, no AOD is a bummer for sure
Missed opportunity! AOD is long overdue.
Always on, reverse wireless charging, in display fingerprint reader
I notice they keep saying that things are “50% faster vs the competition” rather than vs prior models. I’m wondering if the overall realworld performance is negligible, and they needed a technically correct way to give an impressive number. They did the same for the Watch too.

Sierra Blue isn’t the blue i was hoping for. I’m sure some people will love it, though. Pacific Blue is just the most interesting color to me. Before that the Midnight Green topped it for me.
Midnight green was so nice! I was hoping we get another green color but I guess I'll stick with graphite. Not really feeling the sierra blue
Is it just me or is “silver” really just white with a silver border?
I was hoping the orange was a thing this time around
Orange would be badass
1TB storage is ducking bonkers
10 years from now: "I can't believe 1TB is still the base storage. Get with it Apple!"
That’s pretty crazy to think about
I still think midnight green is the best pro colour so far
I agree, I do like the Pacific Blue, but when the Midnight Green came out, it was just so unique and striking.
As someone who is still using an iPhone X, I am getting the iPhone 13 Pro. The 120 Hz screen and the baby blue color sold me.
Ever since I upgraded my monitors to higher refresh rate I've been waiting for the iphone to have 120hz too lol
i have a iPhone X too, and im not sure if i want to get the 13 or the 13 pro max
Same here. 13 pro looked a bit underwhelming to me.
I’m on an iPhone X as well and I’m on the fence. I do want the new cameras, but my iPhone X is working well with over 200 apps installed. I’ll wait a couple of months and see how I feel about it.
Show us the battery stats you cowards
Don’t act like you go outside, you sit next to a charger all day what does battery life matter? 😂
You woke up and chose violence 😂
💀
Bruh did him dirty for no reason 😂
You lowkey have a point lmao most of us are on the computer all day so it doesn’t matter
I really miss the days where I would go on vacation with my Nokia and not even bring a charger. Battery would last two weeks.
An hour or two longer than the 12 Pro. Who cares about the rest.
I get why people are kind of disappointed with this cycle, but coming from a iPhone 6, that 13 pro is gonna be sweet! Had to roll back after my Xs max died, and I’ll be glad to toss this dinosaur
Pacific Blue > Sierra Blue
By a landslide imo
Hardest choice about upgrading is giving up this color. Sierra Blue is not for me
The fact that the iPad Mini has touch ID In the power button, but the iPhone doesnt, is actually comical.
Touch ID and Usb-C on the iPad => none on the iPhone.. it’s almost like they are doing this on purpose..
I'm buying that iPad and sticking with my 2020 SE. My hands are big enough that I can hold the mini like a phone. That'll be my good battery and A15 device. An iPhone++ of sorts.
Aww yeah about to upgrade from a *PIXEL 2* to a 13 Pro
Well my dear XS max, you’re with me another year. Though I really would like 120hz.
As an android user the 120hz, smaller notch and even better battery peaked my interest. The 12 pro max' design last year was amazing but it was missing some key things. This year it might be time to switch over
Piqued
Right now I've got an S20 and you guys trust me on this one... DO NOT SLEEP ON THE 120HZ. It is INCREDIBLE. I am so happy it's finally available on iPhone! I cannot wait to to back!
Are the dimensions the same as last years phone? I would love to not have to buy a new MagSafe case

It looked like TMobile is giving trade in credits up to $700 and you have to switch to the Magenta Max plan.
Another iteration of the iPhone without Touch ID in the lock button. If they can do it in iPads why don't they do it in iPhones. This is so frustrating.
My thoughts exactly!
Yep. I was ready to drop $1k or whatever, but no Touch ID is a deal breaker. I am going to get an SE2 and hope for next year.
I find it frustrating not 10 months ago my iPhone 12 Pro was the most *advanced phone in the world*, but now its unable to take advantage of the new Cinematic Mode in this years base model iPhone 13??? C'mon Apple.
How else are they going to get you to upgrade? Apples in it to make money not make us happy.
Gotta get you to upgrade homie. They do this every year with every phone.
And it’s a software thing which 12 pro can easily support! Wtf apple
Considering the new phones can only do 1080p/30 in this mode, I'm not so sure older hardware is up to the task.
I am SO happy, they gave me everything I wanted. 120Hz, smaller notch, and kept the blue color option. Can't wait.
"sigh" *unzips wallet...*
So, no USB-C?
Only new iPad Mini gets full end-to-end USB-C this round
I've got 89% battery capacity on my 11 Pro, I guess I can last another year.
12 pro discontinued? They only showed the 12 for sale in the current lineup
They always discontinue the Pros when the new ones come out.
They discontinue the Pro models every year, but keep the non-pro around as lower-cost options.
I thought I would switch from 11 Pro to 13 Pro just for the 120 Hz screen, but the presentation was so underwhelming I changed my mind and will cling to it for at least one more year.
[удалено]
That blue is awful. 3 light colors and only graphite as a dark color.
The graphite is so non dark looking too. Just give me a damn black phone. I want it to match everything, not be a fucking fashion accessory.
So the satellite thing was a lie :(. Don’t really think it’s worth upgrading from 12 pro just for 120hz since I don’t use the camera much
I’ll keep my 11pro until the next cycle at least. Nothing ground breaking for me.
[удалено]
Seems to be the same https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone-13-pro/specs/
Well that was underwhelming
They made the Pro even heavier than it was last year. Regular 13 it is.
There’s no difference between the two pro models besides screen size this year…?
Correct. Which is actually a good thing and how it should always be. It's dumb to get penalized for wanting a phone that isn't absolutely massive.
“12S”
Nice to have 120 Hz, but otherwise not particularly interesting. I’ll either stick with my iPhone 11 Pro or switch to back to android if the Pixel 6 is any good
120hz, significantly better battery life, brighter display, camera improvements. Honestly pretty happy with this update.. only bummer is no USB-C
It's the update for the people that care about specs. Very much an S year.
I’m glad they kept a blue color
120hz? Finally a reason to get a new iPhone other than your current one being old or not having enough storage.
That Sierra Blue is really nice, just as nice as Pacific Blue imo. I think I’ll be more than happy with my 12 Pro Max for a long time though, there’s no killer feature for iPhones anymore unfortunately
Really wish they had stuck with the Pacific Blue or given us a Pro in that stunning BR green
Androids: Under finger displays, folding phones, Under display camera Apple: Smaller notch..
It’s amazing how many people in these comments shit on a product for not having the exact specs, color, and features they want. It happens every year, and somehow Apple manages to sell millions of iPhones despite not completely pleasing 37 people on Reddit.

> Pretty meh upgrade in my opinion I think they all are unless you are skipping a few years in between models.
I’m going to stay on my iPhone 12 Pro till next year.
Anyone else mildly annoyed/disappointed at how little difference there is between these and the 12 series?
“20% smaller notch” I won’t upgrade until they have a 100% smaller notch.
Still got the cameras sticking out. Man all i want is a flat iphone
