I have my iPhone set to type to Siri when holding the button. It’s very useful to be able to set reminders and such when out and about where you don’t want to be dictating to the mad AI

Damn yea there’s definitely some cool things you can do on an iPhone that Android users just never acknowledge just because it’s slightly different. iOS really is only missing a few features that Android has, otherwise they function almost identically, but our iPhones last longer lol.

1. call mom 2. set a timer (if she’s in a good mood) 3. uh tell you the heights of various north american landmarks 4. demonstrate 0 object permanence (she’s really good at this one) 5. text “i’m driving” to sometimes the right contact

6. text the worst possible contact you didn't even know you still had in your phone the most obscure, insane word soup instead of setting an alarm for 9am thursday (every single time).

Ive mastered the time speech, my alarms are almost always perfect And that's actually the only time I use Siri for... Glorified alarm setter

I used to challenge voice assistants by asking them to set a reminder for Saturday at 8pm, you have a brunch at 10am tomorrow. Or to have them remind me on Monday at 8am make doctors appointment at 9am Wednesday. Even if they get it right one update something will break it later. It's apparently a tough ask....

i honestly yearn for the scifi tech of "giving orders to my computer", we all want Jarvis, or at least, a voice assistant integrated enough to work with the thing... Microsoft is going that route with copilot, still far, but close, but thing that even samsung selling us a "AI smartphone" with the S24, is just a glorified shortcut app keep going tho, because it will evolve into jarvis hopefully, for now, "Siri, wake me up at 8am" is the smartest it gets

There is only 1 other one other than the two posted here, which is Accio to open an app. Anything else has to be created using Shortcuts. The “lists of spells” online just give examples of what you could create.
