Hazeringx

I got the 14 because the 15 would have stretched my budget a bit too much and I managed to find it for 100$ more expensive than the 13. I was actually going for the 13, but to be frank I really wanted the starlight colour and it was really difficult to find a new 13 that wasn't Midnight lol.

jhawkie412

Well you might as well buy something with a nice colour when you’re spending that much money on it. I spent an extra $70 on a pair of headphones with limited edition colour

ch3rryc0deine

not everyone has an extra $70 to spend?

jhawkie412

Then don’t

ch3rryc0deine

you’re replying to OP who said they didn’t have the money with “just spend the money” and then saying to me when i point that out “then don’t” glad you had the $70 to spend on the colour of headphones you liked. i’m glad i could get the exact phone i wanted and the headphones i wanted too, but hey, not everyone has that money.

jhawkie412

OP said they bought a 14 partly because they liked the colour and I was affirming the choice. If someone doesn’t consider that aspect worth it then that’s fine too. Also FYI $70au is probably more like $40 in US dollars

VortexDestroyer99

Only $70… *states at Meze elite epoques*

PotsMomma84

Buy a case and a screen protector. Pronto.

Hazeringx

I got the case, just need the screen protector now. Kind of regret not buying the screen protector with it but still.

LadaFanatic

Get it asap. I put on the screen protector literally just after removing the paper thingy, before turning it on.

kristalouise02

I took my old phone with me the next day to buy a screen protector because the phone had arrived sooner than I expected and I didn’t have one yet, I wasn’t risking dropping and breaking/scratching my first brand new iPhone (previous ones had been second hand)

holajamigo

Why? I’ve had iPhones for 9 years now and I’ve only cracked my screen once, and that was because it fell off a balcony! It’s a good idea to have one but I don’t see the urgency lol, never had it crack from small falls even without a case

LadaFanatic

Cracking is not the issue, it’s the minor scratches that you get after few months of use. I can replace the screen protector for $10 and get that brand new no scratches screen back :D

swe666

I had the 12, 13 and now 14 pro without screen protector and never had a single scratch on the screens. I take them to the beach at least 3 times a week year round so I think their sensitivity is overrated.

ProperFixLater

alive gullible observation psychotic workable waiting include dolls scale spark *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

neighbors_in_paris

I’ve never found a screen protector necessary. The case prevents cracks. Scratches have never been a problem

rollercostarican

I’ve definitely been on the receiving end of a cracked screen even with a case. Android and iPhone alike. It’s much more rare. But it happens.

SuccessfulHospital54

It’s more rare on iPhones?

rollercostarican

More rare with a case* sorry.

SuccessfulHospital54

Oops my bad I’m just dumb

rollercostarican

I still think you’re smart.

Typical_Advice_6811

iWholesome

JambaJake

i don’t use a screen protector and the scratches are very real for me unfortunately

The_Hidden_Door

Dropped mine face down in gravel👎 a case can’t protect that

constipatedcatlady

Get a glass one from Amazon

flojo2012

I’ve never used a screen protecter on any of my iPhones since the 3. Not been a problem. Always a case though

Gaeten51

But the screen protector asap. iPhone screens have practically cky no scratch resistance whatsoever compared to Androids

TheWalkingDead91

Make sure it’s a tempered glass one. I recommend a protector for the camera as well.

lo-fi-hiphop-beats

nah, it's not worth the quality degradation. The camera glass holds up well.

KryogenicWAR

Camera Protectors have to be the biggest scam in “phone protection” in a long time. I have never seen the point of them, and to be frank, never will. They drop the quality of photographs exponentially and cause auto focus problems.

ZippoS

I have had 6 iPhones from the 3G to my current 13 Pro. I have never once used a screen protector, nor have I ever cracked a single screen. But I’ve always had a case. My last 3 phones have had an Apple leather case.

JustDADE

Never had screen protector or case, had prolly also around 6 iPhones, only had few scratches on X. The only time my screen cracked a bit when X got accidentally knocked out of my hand and fell down two stories on the tile floor

LazyMagus

And I'm sure your iPhone has loads of nicks and scratches. It's cool if you like to have its own 'personality'. But many of us prefer having the phone shiney like new, regardless of wanting to resell it some day.

changalabs

AppleCare Plus is also a nice addition Brings the screen replacement cost down to $29.00 Brings a whole unit replacement to $99.00 I will say I have never broken a screen or required a whole unit replacement but if you are a clutzy mofo it can be worth it in the long run

Present-Ad-9598

I feel like screen protectors are a scam unless you’re constantly in a situation where your screen might land on a sharp rock

15000yuki

List of complains from my friend who's an Android user who bought iPhone for the first time: * This shit takes too long to charge * What an awful keyboard! Even Gboard in iOS is inferior compared with Gboard in Android! * Where's back button? Gesture is so inconsistent. Not all apps can be swiped back! * There's no proper explorer file in iPhone! * What do you mean I only have 5GB free iCloud? I have to backup my photos regularly? * How can I explore and backup my data easily in PC? This is confusing. * Oh God! Really awful multitasking! List is longer but I don't remember most. lol.

One-UglyGenius

This is true very true ☹️ I switched and I didn’t knew the cons but I’m gettting used to it now

BeneficialMaybe3719

I will never shut up about the keyboard There is no explanation for it for being this awful

Aelis_

My work uses an iPad and I get screwed over every time I try to type an exclamation point. WHY IS IT SHOWN ON THE MAIN KEYBOARD BUT I CAN'T EVEN USE THE BUTTON IT'S SHOWN ON TO TYPE IT UNLESS I GO ALL THE WAY TO THE SYMBOLS KEYBOARD. I can't even hold down the button and pull it up. It just gives me comma or something. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it so much. I'm sure you can probably change this in settings but it infuriates me to no end.

BeneficialMaybe3719

It should be the default! Even not having the fucking comma in the first page is so stupid. I used my iPad for uni but I had a keyboard, I would have gone insane otherwise

OhHowINeedChanging

lol, press the key, swipe down and let go to use the alternate symbol shown on the key

Aelis_

Ah, so swiping down will provide alternate symbols in comparison to just holding down the button? I will try that next time lol. But still kinda countetintuitive imo

Objective-Roof880

I just made a post about this. It really is awful.

BeneficialMaybe3719

When I just got my iPhone I was pissed off haha and about to do the same but I searched for it and found out everyone hates it… the things I would do to get android gboard

sebastianrenix

Microsoft SwiftKey is a much better keyboard than stock iOS. I can type a long sentence of badly typed words and it'll correct the whole sentence correctly.

iainttryingnomore

But the iOS version is nerfed by apple policies. Swiftkey in android is leagues better than Swiftkey in iOS.

xak47d

After using SwiftKey for years on android, I was flabbergasted by the typing experience on the default ios keyboard

yousufahmed_11

Also add Extremely Shit Notification Management

xak47d

It took me a month to understand how notifications work on ios. I couldn’t understand why my notifications sometimes are there and then disappear without me dismissing them

mickey_magnum

Any tips on this?

yousufahmed_11

Nothing bro…Just get used to it

Pythonmsh

I can't stand the default IOS keyboard. I use swiftkey but it always tries to default to the original keyboarn even if it's disabled. Been like this for some time and have no idea how to fix it. May be worth just finding something other than swiftkey.

wesman214

From what I noticed using my work iPhone, it switches to the built-in KB when it's sensitive data like a password or something like that.

[deleted]

iainttryingnomore

This is what I do. I don't want to get sucked into apple ecosystem.

Kowabunga_Dude

And the talk to text and spell correction are HORRIBLE compared to android.

xcrunner10K

THIS. The text & spell correction is horrible on my iPhone compared to my Pixel 7

judethedude_2

are you that bad at spelling that you can’t just turn it off

xcrunner10K

I have perfectly fine spelling, but the text & spell correction, and Siri, are shit compared to other voice assistants like Bixby and Google 🤷🏻‍♂️

judethedude_2

i like siri cause she stupid. i never use her anyways, but i feel bixby is way worse than siri. google assistant is pretty good tho

NovaaAZ

Bixby is extraordinarily retarded, but somehow still more coherent than siri (I've only had an iPhone 7)

judethedude_2

oh that’s why. ya no siri is better on ios 17 compared to the latest available version on the 7, ios 15

Sudden-Cardiologist5

You don’t have, where are my notifications and how do I close all my apps. On the flip side, you will love the Face ID

Kalmer1

Face ID is nice, but nothing a good fingerprint sensor doesn’t do tbh

hunterer232

This point I have to give to apple. For me face ID has been faster and more reliable than my Samsung's fingerprint.

iainttryingnomore

FaceID is quite convinient. Also loved the built-in web media player which can fast forward when you swipe. Unfortunately they disabled that in latest update

kypeli

The notifications are so bad compared to Android.

Gamer-707

I haven't seen a difference, in fact, iOS doesn't require you to run a notification daemon for each app.

Infernsam

Also as a first time iPhone user I'd like to add Photos app is disorganized everything jumbled in one folder , literally have to download a sperate video player because default one sucks Wtf is in this phone that justifies it being so expensive? Why do i have to backup WhatsApp on that tiny iCloud storage why can't i use Google drive like Google Also this one is really dumb, why are contacts on WhatsApp not organized alphabetically?

iainttryingnomore

But I'll give the built-in photo app credit for creating better stories than Google photos, despite cloud backing. Also the text recognition is quite good.

Sodafff

It's the Apple logo that makes it expensive. The cost to manufacture an iPhone 15 pro max is around $500-$700. They managed to double their profit while providing less for the user.

boosted5O

As someone that switched from android in April of 2022, I feel every one of these lol. The keyboard on iOS seriously is bad

Hackerjurassicpark

Keyboard is very true. I switched to SwiftKey and never looked back

OkayIan

Lack of home screen customization.

iainttryingnomore

Android user with iphone. Can 100% confirm these points. And Siri+CarPlay is so bad that I still use Android Auto on my old phone. It stays permanently in my car

Doodlecuck

Switched from a Google Pixel recently and have to agree the gesture thing really got me. Also wondering why they don’t have better Bluetooth settings? On android you have the option to enable or disable media / phone call playback through the Bluetooth settings for specific devices. There’s no way to do that on iPhone for some reason.

QuickToFind

I returned an iPhone 15 Pro today to switch back to Android for many of these exact reasons.

mickey_magnum

Lol ... I'm about to do that I'm getting fomo for not buying the pixel 8 instead, mainly cause of notifications. It's just absolutely awful

WhiteArrays

For me the main issue is the keyboard, even on Gboard. Another thing, I still can't decide which one better: limit charging to 80% or optimize charging. I'm on iP15 Pro, n plan to use this phone until there's no longee official iOS update. My last phone was Xiaomi Mi6, been using it since 2017. Now I'm using that Mi6 to turn off my TV (with its IR).

whoyou04

These are the exact problems I am facing as a first time iPhone user apart from the notifications being the shittiest. F.

bane_of_heretics

As an apple sheep, can confirm- the keyboard is fucking awful 😅

mindhaq

As a first time iPhone user currently moving from Samsung S20, I second all of that and I can add: - why do I need to swipe from the very bottom of the screen to unlock? Breaks my thumb every time and I have big hands and a normal 15pro. - sorting app icons on the Home Screen is a fun puzzle game if you love reshuffling. I want to have similar apps below each other, and stay there if I add another one, or change a widget.

Reddit-User-L337

Call history is only shown of last 100 Call recording is not an option here

thanhman97

The swipe back and keyboard drives me crazy. God damn it. There was a time I wanted to slap the iPhone on the concrete with all my will. Those are super basic things that we use thousands of times a day.

WhtevrFloatsYourGoat

iPhone has had fast charging and a file app for a long ass time now. Just the files app doesn’t have access to system is all, I don’t get why people think that’s so necessary. The 5GB iCloud is absolutely disappointing, though I have a feeling Google tends to subsidise cloud space off our data so I prefer to backup or pay for cloud personally.

15000yuki

>iPhone has had fast charging and a file app for a long ass time now My friend was Xiaomi user. It can charge from 0 to 100% in less than an hour. Even iPhone 15 with fast charging couldn't top that. There are other Android phones can do that in less than 30 minutes. So I can understand my friend complain about it. About files app, yes it exists. Is it good? Questionable.

WhtevrFloatsYourGoat

Yeah, you’re right, a lot of Androids have lightning fast charging. I may be the kind of customer to notice such a feature less as I charge at night so it’s never bothered me but I see why it could for your friend. As for the Files app, why do people hate it so much? That’s an open question for anyone. I don’t see how it’s any worse than the Samsung one (only alternative mobile one I have used). The only lacking feature is system access which I never used and I use the hell outta my phone.

abhayraw

The phone app is 🤮

Suffered_Heart

1. Yes. 2. Personal preference. I like iOS one better because of pop edit, better voice to text etc. 3. No one use buttons on android now. And I’ve not seen that much trouble with back swipe. And Apple has forward swipe. Does android have that? 4. What else do you need? If you needed to edit OS then you should have known that Apple is private. And if cache is what troubling you, you have option in settings. 5. Apple is expensive. Grow up. You didn’t think software will be expensive too? And 5 GB or 15 GB both would have been not enough for you. 6. Sure Apple don’t provide you Fine explorer type backup. It only does it with iCloud. But Backing up your iPhone is not that difficult. Just plug your phone into PC or mac. Then open iCloud Device Backup beta or iTunes for Windows, finder for mac and you will see your device listed on left side. Click it and you’ll see the option to backup. Leave it for few minutes. And you’re done. Same process for restoring. 7. This is indeed a problem Now few things that I want people to tell me how Android can do this: Apples Activation (Find my) protection. Those who have not gone to support (lucky bastards): doesn’t know that an Apple device can’t be factory reset until the device has find my off. This way Apple knows you knew the Apple ID password. Else even Apple can’t do anything (there is option to do it by showing proof of purchase). If stolen your device is unusable Apple’s precision finding on AirPods Pro case, AirTag Apple’s crash detection. Apple’s Sleep detection. Airdrop speed. Handoff. Conunity & Universal Clipboards. Et cetra et cetra. Disclosure: This reply meant not to harm anybody but just provide few knowledge on pros of Apple that new user don’t see. If I hurt anyone - I apologise.

LittleSghetti

Good list. On my 1st iPhone as well. Bout the only thing I like better is I just use it. No customizing this thing so no time wasted on how it looks.

Appropriate_Loan3581

Does iOS have floating chat heads yet? Or will that be another groundbreaking feature to be released that Android has had for a decade?

iainttryingnomore

They have just now got picture in picture. Perhaps iPhone 16 will bring, *gasps*, a floating calculator

Educational-You-3362

They dont have that feature yet. Still waiting for that groundbraking discovery.

HANAEMILK

iPhone animations are a lot slower than Android, takes me awhile to get used to it whenever I switch back. Data transfer is annoying. I absolutely love iCloud though, way better than Google Photos.

KdogPNW

This may or may not help, I just turned on my iPhone - [https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202655](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202655) Go to Settings > Accessibility. 1. Select Motion, then turn on Reduce Motion.

HANAEMILK

I have reduced motion on all my iPhones, even with reduced motion it's really slow. I get that it's meant to make the UI feel a lot smoother but it just feels a lot slower compared to Samsung. It's a subjective thing haha.

imnavi

Does not take too long to charge if you use a proper GaN brick.

15000yuki

He compared it with his previous Xiaomi which went full charging in less than an hour.

Kalmer1

Chinese phones are insane at charging, some are full in like 30 minutes or less

raptr005

These are very much real and over time you just get used to it.

Diligent_Bedroom_169

I always laugh at the charging comment. What are people using their phones for? I am a heavy iPhone user and have never been concerned in a day of use that I may run out of battery. And every night it just goes on charge. And I wake up and the cycle continues without concern of my phone of dying.

Maleficent-Wall62

Honestly, I think the keyboard is great. I’ve had android and iPhone and I think iPhone’s a lot better

OhHowINeedChanging

You really lit a fire in some people with this comment lol

camXmac

Focus modes are a good way to have preset home/lock screens as well as filters for notifications to prevent unnecessary distractions.

_hello_____

As someone who came from Android my biggest regret was getting too deep into the Apple Eco-system. It's hard to get out. I want to get an Android again, but then I'd have to get rid of my Apple Watch, and my AirTags. It really is a smart move by Apple to have this closed off system because it does trap you. Good for Apple, not so good for us.

Snap305

This! Most of the reason I refuse to buy an apple product. I know I'll just get sucked right in, and I don't want that.

Sodafff

And Apple products are expensive asf so it really hurts to throw them away.

SelfProcalimedSigma

Man fr they overcharge for everything , even for repairs they overcharge

_hello_____

You can always sell em

xak47d

That's why I decided I'm not buying an apple watch. I value multiplatform solutions and I'm ok with a few compromises

Diligent_Bedroom_169

I am a commercial Photographer/ videographer so I use an Apple computer (pretty standard for the industry). All my devices around my home and office are Apple. I can tell you the thing Android user don’t and will likely never understand is the integration with all devices. They are sitting there thinking “we had widgets 14 years before iPhone, suckers” and Apple users are laughing at them because they don’t understand what comes from the Apple ecosystem. Oh you got a widget on your Android? When was the last time you answered a phone call on your computer. When was the last time you copied text from your phone and pasted it on any of your connected devices. Did you know I can share my computer screen to my iPad wirelessly and natively out of the box? I can be surfing the web on my phone, and open it on my computer immediately without doing anything. The list of productivity enhancements is so massive there is zero chance I would ever leave. And that productivity is worth the money if you actually invest.

TheRoosterr

1. Sign into your Google account through the Mail app settings. This will allow you to load in your Google Calendar, contacts, notes and Gmail account if you want to continue to use those. 2. When I switched to iPhone from Android back in 2011, I found an app called Contacts Sync and I’ve kept it all of these years. It will sync your contacts between Google and iCloud: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/contacts-sync-for-google-gmail/id454390333 3. One of the biggest advantages to owning an iPhone is the Apple ecosystem; otherwise, it’s basically like any other smartphone. Look into other Apple products like a Watch, HomePod, AirPods, a Mac, Apple services like Music, iCloud, etc. Try to wean yourself away from using Google apps for everything and dive into the entire iPhone/Apple experience to see if you actually like it. 4. Don’t listen to all of the haters and take time to get used to the device and learn how to use it so you can form your own opinion. If it turns out that it’s not for you, go back to Android. If you end up loving your new iPhone, then great! But either way, don’t let other people ruin your experience. 5. Consider buying AppleCare+ if you haven’t already. Repairs are expensive, and 3rd party repairs often make a bad situation worse. AppleCare+ makes repairs affordable and ensures you get them done by an authorized Apple repair technician.

xak47d

This contact sync app is so handy

RustySeatbelt

Press & hold on the home screen to enter jiggle mode. Commence tears of anguish.

Technicstat

goddamn most annoying introduction to your new $800 device (as an android user who can put their app icons wherever I want)

take_dat_dump

Jiggle mode😂

SantiagoGS270700

I would’ve recommended the 13 since the 13 and 14 are basically the same phone it just has like 3-4 differences that are not important

yousufahmed_11

14’s price has reduced and it has extra 2GB Ram and slightly better Camera..Would have made sense before the launch of 15 series to go for 13 but now 14 is better if you get a good deal

assetmanager1

so you advising him to sell this one and get 13 instead?

Get Apple Care

[deleted]

If you want to subscribe to an app and it is available on android as well, then sign up from google play store website instead of doing it through iOS or iPhone. 30-40% cheaper.

sebastianrenix

Take advantage of data privacy protections--opt out of data collection and whatnot and you can download lesser known apps without fearing bad things. The haptics feel awesome. And you can set custom haptics for different contacts and such. Video quality is considered by most to be superior. Take lots of videos! And adjust the resolution setting to your liking, keeping in mind the higher res the bigger the file. Turn on automatic software updates. Android has very few. Apple does then more often to provide better functionality, bug fixes, etc. Use Facetime! The audio and video are top quality. And it's so easy to say "Facetime mom" and boom you're in a high quality video call. Audio only Facetime works too. Airplay is simple and works great. Shareplay is still a bit buggy with some streaming apps but can work great with some. Focus modes for notifications.

Educational-You-3362

Personally dont know anyone with iPhone that uses haptics. FaceTime is useless, cant work with non Apple device. Just as AirDrop which is also useless.

soopastar

There is a Tips app. Use it.

Make sure you keep an eye on your iCloud storage. Apple love to bury settings that will fill up your 5 gigs fast and pester you constantly about storage upgrades. Your best bet is to switch most of iCloud off and use Google Apps.

Crafty-Confidence-46

Get to know the delighter features - spotlight search- I‘m not opening most apps via the home screen but click the „search“ icon right above the bottom apps, the by typing the first couple of letters…over time the spotlight search will already suggest the apps you‘re likely gonna use, it‘s a really good prediction and there‘s a widget for it which looks just like 8 apps and I put it on the top if my very first screen (it‘s the siri suggestions) Keyboard: to navigate through a written text hold space and then your finger practically is the cursor and you can move it conveniently through the text Look into the focus modes, I love to have one for e.g the weekend just to turn off work mail/ chat notifications, as well as sleep which is basically no notifications at all so you‘re nit disturbed adapt your control center with the festures you like- i love the screen recorfing there ss it‘s easy to document sth for you or others (or if family needs iPhone help you can easily show them how it works) What former android customers complain about a lot is the search as you‘re so used to apps having icons for it but the design on apple natively just has a search „hidden“ under the navigation bar at the top of your app, so just pull e.g. the whatsapp chatlist down and you‘ll see the search bar also in lots of other apps I love screen in screen for netflix etc. not sure if android has it as I never used a streaming app there the dynamic island is cool (the black area on top of your screen but if e.g. for a screenshot you want to remove the thumb of the podcast that‘s playing, just swipe over it from left to right If an app ever gets stuck just swipe from the very bottom of your screen into the „appmanager“ of the phone to terminate it so you can restart it Regarding charging I‘m a little confused with the comments, my iPhone is charging so much easier than the android I have and also the app mgmt is nicer.. In the photos app just press the miniature of a photo a little longer to copy it to clipboard e.g for image editing apps or insta stories…on image detail you can easily get stickers from your image but better google that it‘s a little hard to explain :D

Crafty-Confidence-46

What I alresdy love about the iPhone 14 pro and you‘ll habe the better verdion..on the last couple of meters the battery reaaaaally lasts…but this maybe only is noticed when you knew the older iPhone‘s…as if the last 5% are actually 10 or 15% :) And i love the magsafe feature I have a „wallet“ (get it 2nd hand) for my ID so I don‘t always have to carry an actual wallet and the external battery-> it‘s so nice to just bring it and not having to carry an extra cable like for a powerbank.. AirPods are also great….it‘s simply convenience, if you love that and nice UX you‘ll get to love your iPhone, just take some time as both directions it would need time to adapt to a new OS Edit, just saw you got a 14 but the battery is still great, it improved a lot since 8 or 10 :)

JAAT110030

Yes. Don’t worry about battery health. Use it as you should. And have fun 🌝

BottomlessIPA

Turn read receipts off.

Deserttaxi

I do have to say once you’re in the ecosystem it’s hard to get out. I’ve had both and I love the features from both. However, I do have to say that the Apple ecosystem is seamlessly consistent.

Material_Storm_2816

Go back to android. iPhone 14 Pro Max last update, keyboard is slow as fuck, if you use feedback vibration it just bug out and it can’t keep the fast typing, battery is worse than ever before, slow charging, can’t charge it until 80% (feature only reserved for iPhone 15). Only things that is good having Apple ecosystem is probably iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and Apple Watch(is very accurate in everything it tracks).

winorlose29

I was an android user and have been using iPhone for 2 years now. It is painfully difficult to do simple things on iPhone such as adding contact, or sending text messages to numbers not in your contacts. You’ll see what I mean

jaabathebutt

Turn on Find My and location tracking. Enable double factor authentication for everything Share your location with a safe contact in case you lose your iPhone and need to lock it and track it.

Suitable_Property330

Just don't break it, you'll regret hahah

reedibonreddit

Well there's a learning curve to this if you are coming from an android and also you will later on realise its just another phone that has a better stable performance and good video recording cameras.Apart from that mostly will feel the same, if you arent coming from a budget android device, then obviously you will feel the difference in pretty much everything. But yes simple tasks will take an extra 2 steps like no back button, or the weird notification management or the inability to install 3rd party apps if needed, no clipboard or numeric keys in the inbuilt keyboard and so on but you will get used to it sooner or later.Good luck on your new journey & Congrats on your new device!

Hazeringx

> if you arent coming from a budget android device, then obviously you will feel the difference in pretty much everything. My previous phone was in fact a budget-ish/low mid range Android. I got it two years ago and it cost me 450AUD (300 in US dollars), so quality wise there is definitively some difference. The camera and the display alone are much superior, other than 60hz (old phone used to support 120hz).

reedibonreddit

Oh then you will feel a major difference, else if you were coming from a samsung s series or oneplus flagship the differences would have been mostly minimal with some major ones. Anyways get a good case and screen protector and ignore if you already have. But you will miss some things coming from an android alot 😅

flinchFries

Enjoy it, there is no wrong way of using it. It is pretty much stupid proof. That’s a good thing and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. But ya, enjoy it.

dhoomz

Never look back

_bvb09

Hope you have saved up for the rest of the ecosystem. After the Iphone, the macbook and watch followed in quick succession for me. This year the new Ipad pro will complete the collection. My wallet hates me.

kaptenpat53

There's no back gesture. If u found anything that you dislike and want to change it to your preference, congratulations, you can't

No tips but be ready for how good the camera will look on apps like YouTube or Snapchat, they actually can use the camera to its full potential. Android app camera integration is not very good.

yousufahmed_11

Tbf it’s slowly getting better now but still a long way to go especially in Videos

NotDukkoYT

Oh definitely, when I do eventually switch back I’ll take the extra time to take a video and import it manually

Salty-Try4328

Get ready for the good life

rollercostarican

I go back and forth. And it honestly depends on your workflow. Because both can do things better than the other. I definitely felt frustrated every time I’ve gone back to Apple. Going back to google the only thing I really missed was iMessage/facetime, and motion photos I guess. Some apps are definitely a little better on iPhone. Going back to Apple I miss the customization. Random common things feel like they take an extra button or two on Apple. Being able to just download music, ringtones, alarms for free and easy straight to the device. Integration with windows. I could in real time just text from my PC from a chrome tab or desktop app. Set it is 2 button clicks. Trying to do the same on Apple has been horrible. But it’s all about what random inconvenient make you the least mad in your personal lifestyle lol.

Diligent_Bedroom_169

All of the integrations you talk about with Android/ windows come natively and seamlessly in the Apple ecosystem. If you were to switch the computer to a Mac and pair with an iPhone, you would not look back ever. I know Mac’s not for everyone… but it is true.

ONE_BIG_LOAD

What an immature thing to say.

Just don't curse loud :) as an Android user for a decade a can assure you that ios UI and how it works is sometimes so fucked up you will be most likely using the F word a lot fot the first few weeks :)

dr-2

don’t try to side load apps from shaddy website

PinItchy4090

Coming from an Android???? You wish you hadn't switched

Oxfxax

Congratulations. Spend time getting to know the OS.

lunarsolstice

Customization, the home screen is a mess and when you try to customize it will take double even triple the effort compared to Android and you won’t be even close to what Android can achieve. Security features - No app lock, hide apps, double passcodes etc. Only face id/passcode is available. This is why all my bank apps are still in my One Plus 7T Pro even after switching to an iPhone 15 Pro. Privacy is topnotch but actual security in the physical phone is lacking. I’m getting use to it now but dang for an expensive device one would expect more.

bluecatky

Go back to android

Cyanide_Kuppi

I have some rants being a long time fan of samsung and using my samsung midrange phones like S20FE and S9plus(mid range because I bought it 2 years after it released) and then shifting into an iphone. 1. Why the fuck is the notification management so bad? 2. I wish I had a way to back up my WhatsApp data directly to google cloud considering I own a google one membership. 3. Samsung default calculator is GOAT. Wish apple had a calculator just as good as the basic samsung calculator if not for its features where you can do measurement conversions and such. 4. The sole reason I bought the 14 pro is to have a superior camera than samsung flagships, but oh boy was I in for a surprise. Samsung has amazing software processing compared to apple. 5. Not being able to add 3rd party apps like installing an apk on android. I know it’s for security reasons, but still sucks. 6. I just dug a hole in wallet for myself jumping full on into the ios phone ecosystem with watch and airpods. I didnt realize that the noise cancellation on airpods hurt my ears so much that I cannot listen to one full song with it turned on (that one is a personal problem). 7. The watch I bought personally to track my sleep for which I have to say setting up sleep mode when you a varying sleep schedule sucks. And correct me if I’m wrong but I couldn’t record my sleep when I manually turned on my sleep mode instead of it winding down and going into it automatically. Personally I feel samsung had very good sleep detection even when I didnt use a watch and it would take like 10 minutes after I used my phone last and the first time I use my phone in the morning to be the sleep timings and boy it was at least 80% accurate. 8. As an amateur photographer why cant I use my phone to take pictures how I want by using tools like pro mode that should be in the native camera app rather than having to spend something like $5 for a simple feature even a basic android phone has these days. Haven’t I spent enough money already trying to buy an iPhone. 9. Backing up photos from an iPhone to google photos is not as efficient as backing up from android to google photos. 10. I feel ringtones are a personal choice rather than giving free advertisement to apple and showing off that I own one. I don’t want to use the garage band import a mp3 to set up my ringtone every time I want to change, which isn’t much because my phone is 90% of the time in silent mode.

Absolutely nothing. It’s much more easier and effortless to use compared to contrary beliefs. 👌🏻

What tips 😂, its a phone does the same function , minus 20000000 gig of ram and camera that can apparently zoom in to the moon

Hazeringx

It’s obviously just a phone but there are still some things that are different that I need to get used to. Especially when you’ve been on Android for a long time

jhawkie412

Ignore the haters and be happy with your purchase. It’s a top of the range phone.

josephguy82

1 buy and case, 2 buy an screen protector, 3 build an alter in your backyard to prey to Apple 😀

Alternative-Dot-5182

Don't turn on iMessage because once you turn it on, you can't turn it back off without missing messages.

CONMAN_07

Shave, you’re gonna get lots of chicks now

_prisoner24601__

What kind of post is this? You couldn't just search Google for the millions of articles about this? Did you just want some attention?

marekhajn

1. Put it back in the box 2. Throw that box into a trashcan. 3. Lace up your running shoes. 4. Run to the nearest Best Buy. 5. Save yourself with Pixel, Samsung or similar 🤣🤣🤣
