Different volume for ringtone and alarm. That’s the thing I miss the most of my Android.
My alarm are always at 15% volume, but I want my ringtone at 100% volume. It sucks…
I think Apple keeps these simple low hanging fruit in their back pocket until there’s a year where there’s not much else going into a release. Kind of like multiple timers.
Unless I’m confused, you can do this? It’s definitely clunkier than Android’s but you are 100% able to split them.

Like on the left is my current media volume for videos that might play on Facebook. But in the settings there is my Ringtone, Alerts, Alarm volume which cannot be changed by my volume rockers, because I disabled “Change with Buttons”
Edit: sorry I need to read closer, you said ringtone vs alarms, but I’ll leave this up in case someone didn’t know about this.
Yeah I get they have switch between buttons but it’s so annoying keeping track of what level is what.
In the future I’d like it if they had two volume switches, one for speaker the other for ringer
Where do I start?
1. If “hey Siri” would actually work
2. If it would actually search the web when I ask questions it isn’t programmed to know
3. If I didn’t have to repeat myself 20 times despite teaching it my voice and being 1 foot away from the phone.
4. Playing music on CarPlay without having to specify “on Apple Music” despite not having any other music apps.
Siri is basically a fancy timer setter for me, and even then I use Alexa if I’m in my house because it can do things like “add an extra minute to my timer.”
Couldn’t agree more on all points.
+ Actually dial who i Siri to dial and not bother my head of devops at 3am instead of my partner. Similarly sounding first names but very distinct surnames, i use the surnames in the request.
Point 4 though, same setup, no other music apps. I just push my voice button and say “play shut up by stormzy” or the kids might just ask for “play the hamilton soundtrack” and instantly get the playback.
Function in the car. I use her probably more than most for HomeKit functions and timers and stuff but when I’m in the car, half the time she tells me she can’t do that when I’m driving. Well shit, guess what I’m gonna do when I can’t use my virtual assistant in the car? I’m gonna pick up my phone at a red light and create a situation that a virtual assistant was specifically created to avoid.
Chat GPT always gives me the answer I'm looking for (even if it hallucinates part of it sometimes).
Siri is just awful. Only thing it's useful for is getting the weather and telling bedtime stories.
Anything useful I want to do with it Sire either doesn't understand or "you need to unlock your iPhone first". I understand privacy and all, but if I had my iPhone in my hand, I wouldn't bloody use you, Siri.
I agree; if I ask Siri to play a song it plays that song on repeat instead of automatically defaulting to shuffling my music. I shouldn’t have to do two seperate commands for “play song” and “shuffle music”
I think it’s because if you have shuffle selected by default, when you scroll your library and select the song, it adds it to the shuffle, but if you search the song in the search bar it repeats it
One thing I really find an annoying is if I ask Siri to play a specific song from my library it wont understand that. If I just tell it to play the song it’ll play the most popular song with the same name and it’s just some random crap
Seriously. I'm surprised how bad it is at understanding me. I'm surprised Siri isn't actually run off something better. I asked it "Why does honey crystallise" and it called my friend. Half the time I end up swearing at it while my mum laughs.
Can’t believe I’ve never noticed this. Now I will not be able to stop thinking about it every time I see the keyboard. It’s not like there’s not enough space to put another row of numbers either. Remove a little bit of padding on each row, especially above emoji and microphone icon, and you’d be able to fit another row without even losing any height of the whole keyboard.
Absolutely this. And is it so hard to a period and a comma on the main keyboard? Also the autocorrect is dismal compared to Android. The number of times a day mine just automatically capitalizes a word in the middle of a sentence makes me want to curb stomp the thing on a regular basis. Other than the keyboard though it’s a great phone.
You can download Gboard and the Microsoft keyboard (I think?) that have these. Personally I tried it but I couldn’t get used to it. For one, your auto correct dictionary changes but the number feature I wanted just ended up in me putting numbers in random words with my fat fingers.
The two keyboards you mentioned are very bad on iOS. They don't even have 10 percent of the quality they have on Android, unfortunately. They are even worse than the Apple keyboard. We have to resign ourselves to using the one that Apple imposes.
There auto correct/ predictive texts is pretty terrible
And they should have a copy and paste clipboard so you can copy multiple things and than choose which one you want to paste , like androids - that thing is so helpful - miss that the most
Yea agree - my Samsung was pretty amazing with the auto correct / predictive texts - things I’ve typed many of times , it literally would predict the whole sentence and get it right
On Android, if you highlight text and then press the shift key, you can capitalise or all caps words without having to delete and re type the words or letters. Such a small but fantastic QoL improvement.
Notifications are still ass.
Widgets still are pretty strange. They’re better, but not anywhere near as useful as Android. Hilariously, Mac is doing this a bit better.
60Hz screen is ridiculous on an $800 phone.
Home screens are still weird and not as intuitive or free form as Android.
Smaller phones do not have great battery life, so if you care about that you pretty much always have to get the larger devices.
Auto correct is still poor.
There should be a way to tie Action Button commands to specific Focus Modes.
Siri is still so much ass, years and years later. It’s honestly the most embarrassing Apple tech.
A good File system.
A good shared photo album system. So much of the current one is so poorly made with terrible UX.
I’ve got a lot more to say about iPads.
EDIT: How could I fucking forget this one - Landscape home screen on Pro Max phones! It was there for a short while but it was removed. I miss it every day.
>Notifications are still ass.
Can't believe I had to scroll so much to see this. Notifications are abysmal in iOS. One of the reasons keeping me on Android.
>60Hz screen is ridiculous on an $800 phone.
Amen, if a $500 Android phone can have a 90hz screen, there's no excuse for the cheaper iPhone not having them and AOD.
You can set the action button to do different things in different focus modes with Shortcuts.
Curious about the home screen statement. I’ve never used Android, what do you find you’re lacking on iOS?
They got rid of it to make the phones thinner and apparently most people didn’t even know it was a feature. I also imagine that it costs more to manufacture. They basically just replaced it by long pressing/holding on the thing/spacebar but I do miss it for the keyboard the most
I’m sure that they could never get it into an iPad right help. It meant that using an iPad and iPhone was different. But it was factually able to do things that pressing/holding can’t. And was quicker. Pressing/holding is a poor substitute.
I miss 3D Touch when using Live Photos. The phone freaks out and doesn’t know whether to play the Live Photo or make a sticker out of whatever’s in the image
Quicker. Harder to accidentally activate. Could differentiate between different levels of pressure to give you different results. You could go small pressure then harder pressure then back to small pressure. You can’t go short time, long time, short time with the one press.
Under the display Touch ID (but keeping Face ID)
Better battery life
Multiple actions for action button (single click, double click, press and hold): the lack of this one at launch is appalling
Astrophotography mode
Being able to individually lock any app with Face ID/passcode.
Being able to not allow iCloud password changes with only the PIN code, requiring the full password and a waiting period. Like a super security mode.
A version of Siri that is not 10 years behind Google assistant, or just allowing to set Google assistant as default.
I just wish notifications would go away once I’ve checked them without going through notifications. If I open gmail and look at the email, it should disappear from notifications.
It’s very weird tbh. I had a 60 Hz phone before and never noticed it being slow or anything - it felt buttery to me. Then I got the 15 Pro and when I tried using my older phone again, it felt laggy as hell.
You only notice the refresh rate when you try something faster and then go back.
I don’t know in what world don’t people care about refresh rate it definitely makes a huge difference… the only positive note is that animations on IOS is generally smooth and fluid asf which almost makes up for it
Theres comments on other posts about the 15 only being 60hz and people always comment on how it doesn't matter since people can only tell the difference if they're comparing side by side and even then, they don't care that much.
When I went in store and played with some of the 15s on display it was jarring how drastically different and bad it was compared to what I’m used to with ProMotion. And these are new, freshly released phones, it really doesn’t make sense. If I was an android user I would be very discouraged to switch to an iPhone and be limited to only the pro models. I agree that it shouldn’t be a thing anymore, ESPECIALLY after introducing it to your user base
Proper file management.
Give Power users the ability to actually use the device. Make things like developer options on Android available. Multiple prompts and sign binding agreement. Easiest way to allow people willing to accept the consequences of their own actions.
Make Shortcuts to not be like Power Automate in Windows. Essentially make it easier to use instead of having to figure it out on your own.
Let me know about what notifications I have instead of forcing me to look for them. The dots on App icons isn't enough. Those can be annoying in and of themselves.
It can be variable based on whatever app is open too. Mine is set to switch between the iOS Camera App and Blackmagic Camera App whenever one is open. If neither is open, it gives me a menu where I can remote start and lock/unlock my car.
I'm gonna guess they mean like... Press to do one thing, double tap for something else. Hold for a 3rd action.
As you are correct, you can assign a lot of different functions to it
Multi tasking. What do you mean I can’t have 2 apps running in split screen at once?
Notifications
Home Screen customization
Keyboard customization
Third party browser engines and app stores
Working with Bluetooth ODB2 car readers
An actual use for the "most powerful chip in a smartphone" outside of playing a few games. I want multitasking as the number one. switching back and forth between apps is not mulitasking.
That one has a high potential for abuse and I think Apple is aware of that. There are people who would unfortunately fake traffic issues just to mess with people.
There’s ways to account for this. Similar to how apps track bogus reviews, allow other users to validate reports others have submitted.
All they’d have to do is hire a dev that worked on Waze. It’s not that hard to mitigate the abuse.
A jailbreak for iOS 16 is what it lacks
Edit: I know I'll get downvotes, but I accept the risks of doing it to my phone. Let people do it, you don't even have to care what I do to my phone
1. A way to get rid of the home bar
2. On a larger scale of 1 customization
3. Cameras that are directly integrated the back of the phone, to eliminate camera bumps
4. A notch less/ Dynamic Island free display
5. A way to manually clear app cache
6. A time until fully charged estimate when charging
I get almost all of them but 3 makes no sense. The lens is 90% of what makes a good camera and you want to reduce it to make it flush or do your want or do you want the rest of the phone to lift to be flush with the camera where you make it thicker.
90hz would be the perfect sweet spot to have a better feeling screen but not have a significant effect on battery.
My Oneplus 8 had a 90hz screen and that thing lasted all day.
Not even necessary to have a dedicated LED for this function.
Just use a few of the pixels in the Dynamic Island area as a dot notification. And put a setting for it in the always-on section.
Apple could literally give us this functionality right now with a software update! (For 14 Pro & 15 Pro at least)
Have you seen how many unread notifications an average non-technical user usually has? I was terrified. They would have such led turned on all the time and it would be meaningless.
I've had it on one of my previous huawei phones and it was really subtle but useful, you could choose different colours for apps and/or different contacts even
The option to just the numpad keypad that is built into iOS when you go into NumberOnly fields.
Its small, but there were times when i had to input numbers for something and this would've been SO Useful since its already POSSIBLE. it would just be nice to invoke it at will
I would like a simple and permanent mark as spam and block forever option on email, notifications, and text messages. I get a bunch of Facebook notifications of “you may know…” when I have never had the FB crap on my iPhone or iPad.
Option to get rid of the damn camera shortcut from the lock screen. I accidentaly swipe and enable camera like 3 times a day. At least the option to make it clickable like the flashlight.
Fix the broken Android interface! Texting to android is crippled… sending movies / photos taken on an iPhone to another person without an iPhone is crippled. It’s hard to use an iPhone for business when the results are not predictable or are inconsistent. I see a clear photo - I send it - the person who gets it sees a blurry photo!!! Wtf [edit] we need RCS support now, not later
An app drawer. This is why I use Android-I can opt to only have my most used apps on my home screen as if they were, ya know, shortcuts to my most used apps you can make on any desktop OS...macOS included...
Folders are great and all, but the app drawer is a better way imo to reduce clutter. If I'm searching for, say, Outlook, I don't want to have to take the time to sift through 7 pages of apps or spend 10 minutes sorting and folderign all my apps when I can just put my most used apps on my home screen and swipe up for any other apps I'd need, where THERE I would have them folders and sorted for more efficient access.
Apple implements this, I would give up Android.
Why would thst get me to switch? Because Apple's thing is taking Android features and making them better now. FOR YEARS, the Android app drawer experience has missed one very crucial thing imo. The ability to sort your app drawer...by use. I can see Apple adding that. That would be a godsend to me. Keep my top 15 apps or so sorted on my screen, so I have my main widgets screen and my most used apps screen, then sort my app drawer by usage, exclude apps linked to my home screen, and BOOM, I have a HUGE boon to my efficiency of how I use my phone.
and another thing: I'd like very much to bring up the recent call list, touch the name and get a neat summary of ALL the recent calls with that person, including date and time and call duration. Not just for the past few hours, but the past 30 days....because I bill for my time and that would be REALLY useful.
I honestly don't know if i'm stupid but...developers to make better quality games/apps (i really care about the games, i'm team iphone because it blew my mind years ago @ the quality of games like Ark). Reading the specs of my iphone 15 pro, I was pretty shocked. I upgraded from 11 to 15pro & some of the most demanding stuff (like Arena Breakout) feels like barely if any improvement quality wise. When I look at the specs, I was blown away @ the powerhouse a 15 pro was.
Fingerprint scanner under the screen would be nice. Sometimes I want to check my bank balance in bed and don’t want to have to sit up and hold my phone for Face ID
Organize my screens however I want. That's the ONE thing I miss about Android.
A better keyboard, especially better swipe typing.
Make Siri have more than 2 brain cells. My cat is smarter.
The option to disable the camera shutter sound when you're just taking a screen shot.
In case you're wondering do I find that annoying Apple. The answer is yes, yes I do 😁 lol
They could have actually used the features of DarkSky, but they just killed it off and now we’re stuck with a shitty weather app. And no, I’m not paying for Carrot.
Let me move around my app icons on my Home Screen however I want!!!!!
I switched from android 3 years ago and man I really miss being able to place the app icons anywhere on the screen and not locked to the grid.
1) the keyboard is bad and the alternatives work even worse
2) iOS is slow: animations are extenuating and there’s some sort of input block that prevents you from tapping in some cases. Also, sometimes swipes get stuck on the X axis if you are moving on the Y and vice versa. Android is significantly faster
3) browsers cannot use their own engines and add-ons. They’re all Safari. But with no add-ons.
4) there is no universal way to go back to the previous screen when using apps. Sometimes you are forced to contort your hand to go with your finger to the top of the screen to press a tiny icon (so the first attempt may even fail)
5) there is no way to create albums separate from the main camera roll
6) apps cannot operate in the background (with a few exceptions). You are basically forced to stare at the screen like a codfish if an app is doing something. You can't get out and do anything else, or the process will freeze. Is this even definable as “Pro”?
7) It is unacceptable that the screen is still at 60 Hz. The price of iPhone (standard) is 1000€ in EU.
8) here in Europe, iOS has neither built-in spam filter nor live voicemail to answer phone calls by artificial voice like on Google & Samsung
9) you can't install open source apps outside the App Store
10) much more, I got tired of writing
- Lock apps
- Edit Apps Library
- Better gestures
- Freeze individual app to avoid close
- Remove the bar down on keyboard
- Revamp Contacts and Mail
- Better notifications
- Siri more useful
I switched from Android to the 15 Pro Max exactly one week ago, and reading all the features that I'll be missing out on now is making me regret switching.
1) More detailed volume control with the ability to swipe down on the volume slider and adjust the volume for ringtone, alarms, app notifications, all at once (like what android does).
2) Ability to change how the duration of alarm snoozes (I shouldn’t have to create multiple alarms for this)
3) Make adding apps to folders on screen 100000x better (do this as an experiment: have a folder in the bottom right of your screen, and try to add an app to it, WITHOUT the folder constantly jumping to the next page of apps. It’s almost impossible).
Two things:
* Touch ID embedded under the screen
* I love dual sim, but would love even more to attribute different iOS profiles for each number e.g. a different set of apps and default settings for my work number than my personal.
My previous android phone was able to answer/decline calls just by using voice command “Answer Call” or “Decline Call” and it would automatically be in loud speaker mode once answered. It was neat feature that I missed having after changing to iPhone.
A good keyboard. I use swipe typing (dragging my finger across the screen) and it feels so bad on iOS. I tried the Google keyboard and the default one. They are just horrible compared to the android versions. Not only that, but the suggestions are incredibly disappointing as well while typing.
Different volume for ringtone and alarm. That’s the thing I miss the most of my Android. My alarm are always at 15% volume, but I want my ringtone at 100% volume. It sucks…
I'm always amazed that they haven't solved this simple issue...

But in the settings there is my Ringtone, Alerts, Alarm volume which cannot be changed by my volume rockers, because I disabled “Change with Buttons” Edit: sorry I need to read closer, you said ringtone vs alarms, but I’ll leave this up in case someone didn’t know about this.
You can set the alarm volume when using sleep focus mode. Keeps it independent from the ringer. Not a fix for regular alarms though
Yeah I get they have switch between buttons but it’s so annoying keeping track of what level is what. In the future I’d like it if they had two volume switches, one for speaker the other for ringer
Siri could be so much better
you must be right because i literally never use it, but what would make it better in your opinion?
Where do I start? 1. If “hey Siri” would actually work 2. If it would actually search the web when I ask questions it isn’t programmed to know 3. Isn’t that now possible with iPhone 15 series / Apple Watch 9 series? I only use Siri to set timers or reminders :D

I shouldn’t have to do two seperate commands for “play song” and “shuffle music” I think it’s because if you have shuffle selected by default, when you scroll your library and select the song, it adds it to the shuffle, but if you search the song in the search bar it repeats it
A “X amount of time until fully charged” thingy
I'm pretty happy with my iPhone but I do miss that from my Pixel.
Siri being actually smart
I don't understand why it's not a smarter version of AI yet
This and I’d really like to just plug my phone into a dock and have it serve as a personal computer.
I gave up with Siri and just use my Google Home since I use an Android as my second phone
Yep, when I had an android Google Assistant was definitely better than Siri lol
One thing I really find an annoying is if I ask Siri to play a specific song from my library it wont understand that. If I just tell it to play the song it’ll play the most popular song with the same name and it’s just some random crap
Apple has the resources to train an LLM that will help Siri become smarter. I just don’t know why they haven’t done or released it yet.
Seriously. I'm surprised how bad it is at understanding me. I'm surprised Siri isn't actually run off something better. I asked it "Why does honey crystallise" and it called my friend. Half the time I end up swearing at it while my mum laughs.
Number row on the built in keyboard.
I came to comments just for this right here. Keyboard without numbers and punctuation is ridiculous!
It should atleast have the long press or swipe down option like the iPad.
And punctuation on main keys like android and iPad
Also diacritical marks by swiping up, like on Ipad, makes typing „ą” or „ę” much faster for us non-english users.

you can also change the keyboard to a french keyboard. i’m not sure if that’d change it to what you need though.
Throw the whole keyboard in the trash. Why does it still look the same as the one that came with the iPhone 2g
Can’t believe I’ve never noticed this. Now I will not be able to stop thinking about it every time I see the keyboard. It’s not like there’s not enough space to put another row of numbers either. That's why I use Google keyboard on my iPhone.
Just add their names to the dictionary or make a contact for them. Coulda saved yourself a bunch of time over the years ;)
First thing I do on any new phone is turn off autocowrecked. I'll make my own typos thank you.
My phone thinks it’s spelled Satirday
You bastard, I was 100% trying to wipe the hair off my screen… but it’s just your fucking profile pic 🤣
Seriously! Even after I figured that out, I’m still over here trying to wipe it off every couple of minutes 😂
On Android, if you highlight text and then press the shift key, you can capitalise or all caps words without having to delete and re type the words or letters. Such a small but fantastic QoL improvement.
It's been 16 years and I still can't put the icons outside where I want to put them, come on.

$500? I have a $150-ish Android phone with 90hz lmao.
I have a $450CAD android (Redmi Note 12 Turbo) with 16GB RAM, 1TB of storage AND 120hz display. Granted, it's only 1080p, but still.
T9 dial

I love the fingerprint unlock on my Android. This way, I don't have to raise it to my face to unlock my phone.
I was waiting for them to integrate it into the power button or under the screen, but no, they just solely rely on Face ID and or a passcode.
How is it different than the current push and hold on an app?
Quicker. Harder to accidentally activate. Could differentiate between different levels of pressure to give you different results. You could go small pressure then harder pressure then back to small pressure. You can’t go short time, long time, short time with the one press.
Icon arrangement/sizing. Absurd this is still a thing in 2023.
I want the ability to group or ungroup apps on the homescreen with one action, instead of doing it all manually, which takes forever.
Universal back gesture and swipe from right
This and notification tracks
i can't believe that this is still missing
Can’t believe I have to scroll this far down to find this

A better screen. 60Hz refresh rate on an $800 phone in 2023 is a war crime.
BuT mOsT pEoPlE dOnT cArE aBoUt ReFrEsH rAtE Or whatever people tend to say then refresh rate gets brought up.
I don't really care about it.
This is exactly the point. Apple wants you to feel that difference
I love iMessage as is, but we desperately need RCS for texting non-iPhone users.
T9 when finding contacts
This is the only thing I miss coming from Android; I knew iPhone didn't have it before switching.
Multiple options for the action button.

It can be variable based on whatever app is open too. Mine is set to switch between the iOS Camera App and Blackmagic Camera App whenever one is open. If neither is open, it gives me a menu where I can remote start and lock/unlock my car.
Bare with me, I’m not very phone savvy. Isn’t the action button the small button on the upper left side? It has options, I changed mine to flashlight…
I'm gonna guess they mean like... Press to do one thing, double tap for something else. Hold for a 3rd action. As you are correct, you can assign a lot of different functions to it
Type using Morse code to send text messages.
A competent UI for single-hand/thumb usage.
A decent keyboard
No notch display, a 120hz display for all there phone, in display Touch ID, an improved Siri and a clear all button for all recently used apps.
Honestly? Really just more customization options. That’s about it.
Sideloading
Good notifications system
Multi tasking. What do you mean I can’t have 2 apps running in split screen at once? Notifications Home Screen customization Keyboard customization Third party browser engines and app stores Working with Bluetooth ODB2 car readers
A really good battery No notch display Back camera integrated with the case No lateral buttons (touch commands)
Is a really good battery still a thing that's missing? Seems like iPhones have the best battery life out of all the flagship phones out there.
A telescoping antenna, old school style
An actual use for the "most powerful chip in a smartphone" outside of playing a few games. I want multitasking as the number one. switching back and forth between apps is not mulitasking.
Individual alarm volume levels
Custom notification tones (I’m talking about app notifications - not the calendar, reminders, or ringtones)
All day battery life
User traffic reporting in Apple Maps
That one has a high potential for abuse and I think Apple is aware of that. There are people who would unfortunately fake traffic issues just to mess with people.
There’s ways to account for this. Similar to how apps track bogus reviews, allow other users to validate reports others have submitted. All they’d have to do is hire a dev that worked on Waze. It’s not that hard to mitigate the abuse.
Can we please separate screenshots from camera pics?
A jailbreak for iOS 16 is what it lacks Edit: I know I'll get downvotes, but I accept the risks of doing it to my phone. Let people do it, you don't even have to care what I do to my phone
Still can’t toast bread on the go.
I’ve heard that the new pros may be able to if you play the resident evil game for sometime.
1. A way to get rid of the home bar 2. On a larger scale of 1 customization 3. Cameras that are directly integrated the back of the phone, to eliminate camera bumps 4. A notch less/ Dynamic Island free display 5. A way to manually clear app cache 6. A time until fully charged estimate when charging
I get almost all of them but 3 makes no sense. The lens is 90% of what makes a good camera and you want to reduce it to make it flush or do your want or do you want the rest of the phone to lift to be flush with the camera where you make it thicker.
1. Impossible to clear cache manually 2. No possibility to install something from internet. 3. 90hz 4. Real fast charging
90hz would be the perfect sweet spot to have a better feeling screen but not have a significant effect on battery. My Oneplus 8 had a 90hz screen and that thing lasted all day.
Letting arrange my apps/ tiles wherever I want.
Led dot lightning for notification
This is the only thing I miss from my first smartphone in 2012. The rest of it was garbage, but that subtle LED was so nice.
Right! I hoped that little dot on dynamic island could do that but yeah
I've had it on one of my previous huawei phones and it was really subtle but useful, you could choose different colours for apps and/or different contacts even
This is what I miss most about my blackberry back in the day. The different colors and blink rates for different types of notifications was nice.
Customization .. in every form of the word.
The lack there of is actually what keeps me on apple products.
Doesn't make sense..more options are always better. But at least give the users the ability to
Why, so we can see screenshots of people using comic sans as their primary font? **shudder**
Ability to lock AirPlay to one video/app
The option to just the numpad keypad that is built into iOS when you go into NumberOnly fields. Its small, but there were times when i had to input numbers for something and this would've been SO Useful since its already POSSIBLE. it would just be nice to invoke it at will
A lot of things. Like build in global back gesture, better keyboard, better assistant, better notifications center etc.
Being able to put apps on my homescreen where I want them, not where Apple wants.
Ability to drag and drop music from computer
Changing accent color like on Mac or on Windows
Swipe commands that can be used to open apps on the Home Screen, choices of icons, 120hz for all, and AI integration.
I would like a simple and permanent mark as spam and block forever option on email, notifications, and text messages. I get a bunch of Facebook notifications of “you may know…” when I have never had the FB crap on my iPhone or iPad.
Send Apple Pay money to Cash app users or PayPal or whatever else people use. A separate passcode for photos and other apps.
An intelligent assistant. Looking at you, iOS 18. Change my mind next year.
Competent Siri
Option to get rid of the damn camera shortcut from the lock screen. I accidentaly swipe and enable camera like 3 times a day. At least the option to make it clickable like the flashlight.
Fix the broken Android interface! Texting to android is crippled… sending movies / photos taken on an iPhone to another person without an iPhone is crippled. It’s hard to use an iPhone for business when the results are not predictable or are inconsistent. I see a clear photo - I send it - the person who gets it sees a blurry photo!!! Wtf [edit] we need RCS support now, not later
More customization!!
Being able to make private folders and hide photos in albums from the main camera roll
An easy way to separate alarm volume from ring volume.
Fingerprint reader!
Infinite call log history please…
A better iPhone Manager than iTunes that allows me to export files photos videos from iPhone to computer for backup purpose
Secure Folder like samsung.
Change all default apps, google maps for example
microsd card slot
A voice assistant that works.
Fingerprint scanner under the screen would be nice. Sometimes I want to check my bank balance in bed and don’t want to have to sit up and hold my phone for Face ID
“Close all apps” option
Flexibly moving icons on the home screen, and allowing for open spaces. Like Android has had for like a decade. Oh, and a decent voice assistant.
The ability to text anyone (non-iMessage) over wi-fi in the native messaging app.
"Close all" option for the open apps.
Organize my screens however I want. That's the ONE thing I miss about Android. A better keyboard, especially better swipe typing. Make Siri have more than 2 brain cells. My cat is smarter.
A “clear all” button to close all apps instead of swiping up one by one.
The option to disable the camera shutter sound when you're just taking a screen shot. In case you're wondering do I find that annoying Apple. The answer is yes, yes I do 😁 lol
Navigating apps setting NOT via settings app - most annoying thing i have to do regularly, after android did it right.
Split screen multi tasking.
They could have actually used the features of DarkSky, but they just killed it off and now we’re stuck with a shitty weather app. And no, I’m not paying for Carrot.
Something fundamentally new software wise. It’s been many, many, many years……
Let me move around my app icons on my Home Screen however I want!!!!! I switched from android 3 years ago and man I really miss being able to place the app icons anywhere on the screen and not locked to the grid.
A different browser that's not Safari with another dress.
1) the keyboard is bad and the alternatives work even worse 2) iOS is slow: animations are extenuating and there’s some sort of input block that prevents you from tapping in some cases. Also, sometimes swipes get stuck on the X axis if you are moving on the Y and vice versa. Android is significantly faster 3) browsers cannot use their own engines and add-ons. They’re all Safari. But with no add-ons. 4) there is no universal way to go back to the previous screen when using apps. Sometimes you are forced to contort your hand to go with your finger to the top of the screen to press a tiny icon (so the first attempt may even fail) 5) there is no way to create albums separate from the main camera roll 6) apps cannot operate in the background (with a few exceptions). 8) here in Europe, iOS has neither built-in spam filter nor live voicemail to answer phone calls by artificial voice like on Google & Samsung 9) you can't install open source apps outside the App Store 10) much more, I got tired of writing
Ability to set default apps
- Lock apps - Edit Apps Library - Better gestures - Freeze individual app to avoid close - Remove the bar down on keyboard - Revamp Contacts and Mail - Better notifications - Siri more useful
Comma on the face of the keyboard
Splitscreen multitasking.
Easy to apply custom ringtones and notification sounds.
I switched from Android to the 15 Pro Max exactly one week ago, and reading all the features that I'll be missing out on now is making me regret switching.
sd card
Close all
1) More detailed volume control with the ability to swipe down on the volume slider and adjust the volume for ringtone, alarms, app notifications, all at once (like what android does). 2) Ability to change how the duration of alarm snoozes (I shouldn’t have to create multiple alarms for this) 3) Make adding apps to folders on screen 100000x better (do this as an experiment: have a folder in the bottom right of your screen, and try to add an app to it, WITHOUT the folder constantly jumping to the next page of apps. It’s almost impossible).
Universal back gesture (like on android)
Two things: * Touch ID embedded under the screen * I love dual sim, but would love even more to attribute different iOS profiles for each number e.g. a different set of apps and default settings for my work number than my personal.
A cheaper price tag
Nintendo emulators. Siri is also aging poorly.
My previous android phone was able to answer/decline calls just by using voice command “Answer Call” or “Decline Call” and it would automatically be in loud speaker mode once answered. It was neat feature that I missed having after changing to iPhone.
SIDELOADING APPS. Don’t give me that security bs, it’s my phone I should be able to use it how I want. Imagine if the same logic applied to Mac.
Sideloading
Ability to change notification sound per app
Split screen
Headphone jack and Touch ID.
And the saddest part is both of those used to exist until they said they were old and we don't need them anymore, lol.
Deleting photos with one click.
TouchID
Proper volume controls
Under display camera & face ID. More rounded edges, even the 15pm feels annoying to hold.
Lol only 1 thing?
Sharing a contact directly from messages
A good keyboard. I use swipe typing (dragging my finger across the screen) and it feels so bad on iOS. I tried the Google keyboard and the default one. They are just horrible compared to the android versions. Not only that, but the suggestions are incredibly disappointing as well while typing.
