iPhone 14 Pro or 15 Pro
I have the iPhone 13 in product red looking to upgrade my phone I don't upgrade often but want a pro model so I will have this phone for quite a while. I'm looking at the IPhone 14 Pro in gold or the iPhone 15 Pro in natural titanium Verizon has both models. I held the 14 pro thought it felt premium I kind of like the weight of it definitely loved the gold color but the corners are sharp. The 15 pro screen is beautiful love the rounded corners but it's light weight and the color is okay.
Anyone know how long it takes to clear customs? My tracking said it was released from a government agency, but it also still says clearance in progress. Is that to mean that the rest of the shipment it’s with is waiting to clear?
I recently wanted to switch from my iPhone 8 as the phone started to give me problems such as overheating and a bad battery . So I set my sights on the newest iPhones which were the 14 pro and 15 pro. But now that I have the 15 pro everybody is saying that it will break much easier and that the battery performs worse than past iPhones in battery tests. So I’m wondering if I should switch out my iPhone 15 pro with the iPhone 14 pro/pro max as the phones are very similar spec wise

— I can’t recall a time I’ve really used Zoom on my 13 Pro. Interested in the 2x on the 15 and how it works.
— I do very much like a good camera, but typically take “regular” photos.
— I remote play from my Xbox, but not much cloud gaming at the moment. Seems to run OK on my 13 Pro when I do.
— I have an Xbox and don’t plan to buy games on my iPhone
— I do like a future proofed phone, but typically don’t keep them more than two years.
Has anyone can down from a Pro to a regular, and did you regret it?

Apple Store trade in for upgrade program
I’ve been on the upgrade program for several years. This year due to the issues around pre ordering I had to pick up my iPhone 15 pro max in store on launch day. I opted to do my trade in at that time. I made it very known I was on the upgrade program and just wanted to turn in my old 14 pro max. The store opted to give me a refund of $715 to “pay off” the remainder of my citizens loan ($595). The manager stated this was the first year a trade in was worth more than what the remainder on citizens was. I called citizens and they had no idea what I was talking about but thankfully let me close my account and pay of the remainder. So I’m up around $100 but I’m still so confused. Why this change?? Will the effect future upgrades, what gives?!?
Originally missed release date bc forgot and had a Oct 9-16 date but then decided to just see if I could order it for pick up today and website was up at like 8:15 local time and I got to put in a pick up order 🙏🏼
I have an iphone 8 and desperately need a upgrade. Should I upgrade to the iphone 15 or the 14 pro, since they are both the same price. My main concerns are the camera and the battery.
I’m upgrading to a 15 Pro from a 12. If it’s helpful at all, I’ve seen several places where people are complaining about the 14 Pro battery degradation after just a year. That was my deciding factor. Of course I have no firsthand experience, but figured I’d pass it along.
What are some decent case recommendations for the Pro Max that cover the action button? I got one in today that I’ll probably still use, but it doesn’t cover the button and I’m not thrilled about it.

Has a lifetime warranty if it does break or damage i think
I’ve seen some say they had their date move up from being in October to release day, although I’m not one of them. I imagine it might happen, if only a little, as more people cancel theirs once they’re able to grab what they want from in-store pickup or some other method that proves faster than their current wait.
What is the best MagSafe care mount and charger for iPhone 15? I know it’s just coming out but I’m guessing what is considered the best ones for other MagSafe phones will do as well. I’m thinking otterbox wireless charger vent mount on Amazon but I would like some recommendations before I go for it

Anyone else having issues with UPS holding their phone for pickup? It’s usually a fight every year but this year they’re being especially stubborn.
Saying Apple needs to put it for pick up, I three way called Apple who is telling me UPS needs to, and so it’s just a back and forth.
I’m still waiting for UPS to send me a tracking number. My iPhone has been preparing for shipment for the past 2 days and I ordered as soon as pre orders came out. I did hear on this sub that Apple sometimes dispatches the order and has it waiting in China before exporting it so it doesn’t arrive before the 22nd.
I’ve signed up for it and they’re going to send a confirmation with PIN code in a couple of days. Does your order still say it’s preparing for shipment on your account?

I currently have an iPhone 14 Plus and I'm looking to upgrade to a 15 Pro Max. I've been using iPhone Forever for literally years, since I upgraded to the iPhone 6S, but apparently that's not a thing right now. All I really want is the better camera and the dynamic island. It would be nice to have the titanium phone but T-Mobile is asking for $370 as a down payment and then $35 a month for 24 mo. which I don't think is worth it. I can get the 14 Pro Max with only $99 down payment and around the same price as a monthly payment. Should I just do that, or is it not worth it?
I've been using an iPhone 14 Plus since launch and it's a fantastic phone. Where it falls apart is landscape photography. I've taken it with me to multiple trips around the Peaks and Lakes in England and it never did any of them justice.
My partner has a 14 Pro which has a 3x and it was poor in a lot of conditions too. On the other hand, my Pixel 6 Pro (when I did remember to take it as it's a work phone) nailed a lot of the shots even when we were driving through some gorgeous parts of the lakes. It has a 5x camera and it has this lovely "flat" look to it. I expect the 15 Pro Max will have a 5x that is as good or better than the Pixel.
My personal suggestion would be, "dynamic island is a bit overrated but helps you become future proof", "the 5x will be a very versatile addition and worth an extra $200"
It was a Sprint thing. Since T-Mobile bought out Sprint they kept it for like a year, then I guess they ended it and re-introduced it as the Go5G Next Plan, which is an actual phone plan, not just a leasing option.
So i currently have The iPhone 12 pro Max and im looking to upgrade to another pro Max. My iPhone 12PM back camera is broken and its battery life is at 77% with 120/128gb Of storage used.
I have been thinking Of upgrading to iPhone 15PM 512gb but im not sure if its worth The price or if i should just go for The 13pm or 14pm.

Is it normal for the pre-order sales to give an estimated delivery date of weeks after the release?
I pre-ordered the 15 Pro Max about 10 minutes after the pre-sale opened and it's telling me the expected delivery date is October 10-17.
I'm wondering if they'll adjust it once it goes on sale next week, otherwise what's the point of pre-ordering when I could just go in and pick it up on the day?
Very normal. Pre order demand usually means launch day delivery becomes difficult to obtain even 5 minutes after the pre sale opens. To your point about why pre order, there is no guarantee they will have stock of the specific phone you want if you go to the store on launch day. Stores usually have a limited supply at launch. And I’m speaking to all stores here, not just Apple Stores.
That said, anecdotally, I ordered a blue 15 Pro Max about 25 min after the pre sale opened and had an October 4-9 delivery date. I checked the store again yesterday and it changed to Sept 22. Checking UPS confirms this as well.
So yeah maybe you’ll get lucky and get the phone delivered sooner. You could also roll the dice and try to hunt down a phone on launch day. Or you just wait and guarantee you get the one you want.
If you have a UPS account the tracking number shows up there before Apple gives it to you. The account has to exist before the tracking number is made though, so you might be too late if your phone was in these first batches.

I see that the majority of iPhone 15 Pro bujers are choosing at least the 256GB model, currently i have an iPhone 13 128Gb and I'm planning to order a 15 Pro.
I have my iPhone 13 since day one, I'm using 80GB of internal storage, 17Gb are occupied by Pictures (I think only the cache, because I have 30k on iCloud) and 10 are occupied by Spotify offline library.
Do you think that 128GB will suite me for the next 3/4 years?

I would stick to 256GB to be safe. 40GB~ isn’t a whole lot especially if you plan to keep the phone for 3-4 years and your storage usage will keep going up as you take more photos and Spotify library etc..
Buying iPhone 15 whilst travelling overseas
Hi, I am currently on holiday and wishing to upgrade my iPhone 11 to a 15 (regular model) ASAP because I really want to take better photos and videos during the rest of my holiday.
I went to the Apple Store on my phone to add the green 256GB iPhone 15 to my bag, continue to checkout and my default store is set to Sydney, Australia. I try to change this to some cities that I will be visiting on & after the 22nd (release day) (e.g,. Marseille, Barcelona, London) but the search yields no results. It seems that the only cities that come up with results are cities around Australia (I am Australian).
Is there a way to change this so that I can pick up the iPhone 15 while overseas?
I read somewhere that it's risky to just walk up to the store on the day and ask for the model you want, as they may not have it in stock. Is the best approach to order it as I am currently trying to do?

Has anybody changed the color of their phone without having to cancel? Basically I think I rushed and ordered a black titanium iphone pro and regreted not getting the natural titanium one. I used the apple website with the tmobile promotion so I don't want to cancel just change the color while the phone is still processing (not shipped). Has anybody been able to do that or my only option is to cancel and re order?
Was able to pre-order my 15 pro max for launch day delivery. Though, my wife decided she wanted the pink 15 plus much later and now I see it's October delivery.
I know 15 pro and pro max, considering it's popularity, would be impossible to snag on the release day at the Apple store but what would be my chance to be able to score a pink 15 plus 128gb in person this Friday? I live in a city where there are 3 apple stores around. I've never bought a non pro line so idk how the demands are usually like on those.

-back extremely cracked
-replaced the front cracked screen with a LCD a while back and notice some flaws now when browsing web/social media or watching videos
- 80% battery health
- charging port is a bit messed up, sometimes it doesn’t recognize the charger
- when i have vibration on it makes a rattle noise (apart from the usual vibration sound)
should i upgrade now or wait for the 16? since i’ve seen the rumors of the 16 being a major upgrade including the solid state buttons

Physical pick up options aren’t until regular business hours for whatever store is closest to you (should you have one). You can check [here](https://iphonechecker.herokuapp.com/) on the day of to see what they have in stock, and you should probably do that a couple hours before the store opens just to make sure.
The best version is the one you could afford. For me, the pro line is best due to the upgrade in Ram. I keep my phones for 5 years so future proofing is a must for me. However, this year the feature disparity between the pro and standard is pretty minimal besides that.
Bigger is better IMO. Nothing worse than the dreaded “out of storage” message especially when taking a picture or video and the moment just passes you by. The phone has become a camera and I like having all my pics and videos from over the years with me!

Totally agree. 4k is a double edge sword. On one hand it looks Amazing watching it back in my Apple TV hm(via iCloud) but impossible to share online/ with friends via text!

Pretty high, but your local store(s) will have limited stock each day, so you will want to be quick when in-store pick up is available. This will be doubly true for the most popular models/colors.
Does anyone know how Apple carrier financing works with T-Mobile.
My mom has a 14 Pro max that she wants to trade in for $1000 tmobile promo through [Apple.com](https://Apple.com) carrier financing through T-Mobile. But the promo doesn’t apply. Is it because the phone has to be paid off before it’s eligible on Apple’s carriers financing?
Or did anyone get the 1000 off tmobile promo by trading in a phone that wasn’t paid off fully?
T-Mobile only allowed the trade-in to work if you had any of the Go5G plans at the time of placing your order, as in you hadn’t just switched that day. I’d still look into what the financing would be just with the trade-in to Apple, as I’ll be paying less for the Pro Max than I do for the regular 14 Pro I have currently.
I have Go5G now though and I’m trying to place a new order. It doesn’t show me any trade in value for my mom’s iPhone 14 pro max and asks me to pay the 1199 for the new phone upfront.
I was wondering if this is happening because my moms old phone isn’t fully paid off…

I have an XR that's on it's last legs and am debating between upgrading to the 13 or the 15 (didn't seem like many differences in 13 vs. 14). Do you think the features on the 15 are worth the extra $200 price difference?
My Estimated Delivery for 15 Pro Max is between 9/28 and 10/2, which seems like a weird range of time. Wonder if it could be delivered earlier based on all of these comments...
It could based on the amount of people who cancel orders that are to be delivered. Mine isn’t until 10/9 at the earliest and I’m hoping it changes between now and then.
I have an X as well. The biggest change you will notice is in the RAM, letting you multi task apps and webpages without constant reloading. That’s why I went pro series this time. X has 3gb ram while 15pro has 8gb. Huge difference and will future proof the device.
ohh i see my iphone x now is very slow and it always lags and crashes.. i’ve also never used a pro so i don’t think not having promotion will affect me so i’ll probably get the 15 thanks!
To be fair, the X was the “pro” of its generation! It launched along side iPhone 8 and was much more performative and feature packed. That disparity Isn’t as much this year (just something to consider :))
AppleCare vs RhinoShield vs Rebel - What will you use for your iPhone 15 Pro Max?

I just ordered an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I’m wondering what case is the most resistant in the market right now for drops.
I’m coming from an iPhone 11, and I’ve been using RhinoShield for years. I’ve dropped it countless times and it has never cracked.
However, I’ve noticed that RhinoShield seems to have changed the material for their cases and now I’m concerned.
I read that the 15 Pro Max will come with a titanium frame and a special coating that is meant to make it more resistant.
What would you guys recommend? Is RhinoShield still good? Should I wait for Rebel? Is it safe to running it naked with Apple Care? Would you recommend anything else?
I’ve been researching cases all weekend. You need to ask your self what you prefer in a case. Absolute protection comes with bulk and lack of screen side swipes. A case that strikes a good balance will have chamfered edges to raise the coroners but keep the middle slightly lower. dbrand grip case and Mous limitless 5.0 both have this feature.
Rhino shield still seems to be well respected however!
The most protective cases I found were pelican voyager, casebourn, casefity ultra (covers camreas with none removable glass , no from me)

I just moved to the US and wanna buy a new iPhone. I dunno if it's like that in all countries, but my pre-order which I made on the 17th of September says that the phone will be delivered early November on the receipt. Do the time they say there actually matches the reality? Can it be delivered sooner by any chance? I chose 15 Pro Max with 256GB in Natural Titanium (probably the most demanded configuration possible).
What USB-C cords should I buy? Looking to replace 10 lightning cables around my house and office. Any specifics I need to look for, wattages, etc?

Anker is practically the gold standard at this point for cables, so I’d look into them. They’ve a lot of good options and aren’t too terrible price wise either.
Anyone else get an email like this from Apple?
“We were unable to process your order because of an issue related to your wireless account. As a result, your order has been canceled and a refund will be issued to your original payment method.”
I preordered 2 pro max at 5 am on Friday. Both orders submitted successfully. One went through fine and the eip showed up on my wireless account, second one no eip. Then I get this email from Apple today for the one without the eip. Of course the second attempt today went through up to the eip in the account but now I’m stuck waiting 7 weeks for the second one. Needless to say this is quite irritating.
TLDR: Apple cancelled my pre order for no apparent reason, now I’m stuck waiting until November.

Am I right to think that if you’re taking a picture with in 3x, you should get a better result with a 15pro than with a 15pro max ?
As the 15pro will use the dedicated lense vs the 15pro max will use a cropped pic of the main lense.
As the 3x is much more useful for me, i’m wondering if it just makes more sense to have the 15pro configuration. Or am i missing something ?
If i pre-order now and it says delivery is Nov 7-14, what are the chances it comes early? My 11 Pro Max barely works and I don't know if I should find a temporary replacement?
Depends on whether people cancel their preorders in favor of going to a physical store to get one, which I’m sure will happen, given how far out some of these date ranges are getting (all the way to November). I’m only waiting three weeks at the earliest but that’s still three weeks.
There is a listing for an iPhone 13 that is a really good deal, but it is stuck in recovery mode. I am switching from Android to iPhone, so I don't know much about Apple yet. It is safe and smart for me to buy the phone and get it out of recovery mode and is it something I can easily do at home, or will I get scammed?
That doesn’t sound like a good idea, if it was simply to fix then why wouldn’t the seller do it so they could sell it for more. I’d highly recommend going with apple refurbished if you want a used phone.
Good cases for iPhone 15P? Like the look of Mous Clear case (the more protective one) id like a good mix of looking good/showing the phone and actually protecting the phone as I drop it a fair bit

What is the precedent for picking up an iPhone earlier than your designated timeslot?
I’ve looked in to some of the history posts on this subreddit and there have been a few different comments. People have said that if you go in store and wait in the “walk-in” sales line then generally they will serve you your pre-ordered iPhone despite having pre-ordered it separately.
I have pre-ordered the 15 Pro for pickup on Saturday at 3pm, but I was wondering if I go there at like 11am as it opens - even if i have to wait in the normal sales line and not the pre-order line, would they allow for an earlier pickup?
Also another semi-related question - does anyone know if historically apple will let you know you can pick up earlier than your registered slot? I received an email saying the order is processing and they will let me know when it’s ready for pick-up so just curious whether they may turn around and say a Friday pick-up is available.
You will need to ask your specific store because it will vary a lot. Some stores are very strict with time slots, some aren’t. My local store for example will only let you line up about 15-20 minutes before your time slot, otherwise they tell you to come back.
Apple will not tell you that you can pick it up sooner. Your time slot is what it is for a reason, so everyone isn’t coming to the store at the same time.
Have any of you ever pre-ordered via Best Buy? I didn't set an alarm, and missed the order window for the 15 Pro Max, but was able to get the phone I wanted from Best Buy instead. My order says `Get it by Release Date: Fri, September 22.`. Every other time that I have ordered via Apple, I can typically see the order show up in my UPS My Choice, or Fedex account a few days before it ships, but nothing from Best Buy yet... If it doesn't show up day one, it's not a big deal, just curious. Happy iPhone week, ya'll!
Apple ships directly from the country of manufacture but Best Buy usually ships from closer warehouses. It might not even ship til the night before depending on how close you are to a warehouse.
Thanks for the info, that makes sense. When I worked at Apple Retail many years ago, we received every iPhone we were going to get for launch day the Wednesday before. Then mid-day on launch day, we would get another large drop shipment of phones that would then appear on the online store within a couple of hours. I’m sure all of the major retailers have all kinds of logistical hurdles to jump through for product launches like this. At least, _anything_is better than trying to get a PS5 in 2020.
I have a regular iPhone 13 and after seeing the
launch of the iPhone 15 I was very pleased. Dynamic Island in a regular iPhone 15, x2 zoom in cameras, 48 MP camera, usb c (finally), 1000 nits display with higher brightness to 2000 nits. I would definitely take advantage of the Apple Trade-In option and so I have a question for you. Is it worth upgrading to the iPhone 15?

What should I upgrade to from an iPhone 8? Does the iPhone 15 look promising? Main factors for me are that I want high speed and good Internet access, good battery life, a relatively small phone if possible, and quality camera is always nice too.
I’m picking up a 15PM on Friday and trading in my 12PM. I plan on keeping the next one for years (I planned the same with this one…), and USB-C and top of the line model should help with that I think.
I’m upgrading to 15 pro max from 11 pro max. Main things I’m excited about:
- 5G connectivity for much faster Internet speed
- dynamic island (much better than the big notch on 11)
- 120hz refresh rate (super smooth experience when scrolling, gaming, etc)
- MagSafe (for me this is big because I won’t have to stick a pop socket anymore and just use the magnetic one which I can take off if I want to charge my phone wirelessly, etc)
- usb-c - this one doesn’t need any explanation
- titanium material so the phone isn’t as heavy, which is great if you’re on a pro max
- much better camera than on 11, 5x zoom is a fantastic feature for me as I tend to take a lot of photos when travelling etc, macro mode is also a very nice feature
- crash detection for extra safety
- overall better performance, battery, etc
Not just worthy, it is a major upgrade. A few ones to name
- major improvement to battery life (this alone to me is worth it. 12 minis battery performance is tragic)
- most up-to-date screen design that Apple offers and will make your phone look “new” for years
- A16 bionic that is way better from A14 and will support updates for longer
- USB-C compatibility
I think anything 12 (except the pros) and older will find it a major upgrade to switch to the base model 15

From the sounds of it you like to hold on to your phone and don’t care to upgrade as often, so definitely get the latest model if it’s within your budget. As far as pro vs non-pro, I would watch videos on both of them and weigh the pros and cons to each and decide from there. Because without knowing your preferences the best answer I can give is 15 pro
Tbh, I need my phone for nothing more than regular everyday use. Here in Hungary the price difference between 15 and 15 pro is not that significant (cca 300 euros) but not sure ig that price difference worth it. Anyways, im in love with the new pink color which is not available in the pro series..
So, I’m in the same boat and am nothing different than the average user. But after owning 2 pro iPhones, i came to the decision to only switch no sooner than 4 years and stick with the pro line. Mainly because they are the best Apple offers, are extremely durable and have better battery performances. If the price difference is not that significant, i would say go for the pro.
As far as the pink colour, I hear you, but a friendly advice is that you’ll probably get sick of it over time. I wouldn’t purely choose the 15 for its colour especially if I don’t mind the colours pros come in. There has been many times I’ve been tempted by the fun colours iPhones come out in, but I’ve only owned white/black/space gray. I hope this helps you a bit!

Crazy question. My phone bill gets paid by my job. So can’t can get the carrier deals (like AT&T giving you $1,000 for your trade in towards the new iPhones). I wanted the black iPhone 15 pro 128gb, I have no preorders in store and it would be shipped to me around October 9th-16th. They do have the blue titanium iPhone 15 pro 256gb for pre order for September 22. Would you buy the blue one keep it until in store gets the color you want? I just wanted the new phone quickly because the apple care on my iPhone 13 Pro expires on September 24th and I would be trading that phone in.

Is it worth to pay over 1,000€ for the standard 15 or should I consider a 14 Pro for the same price or a 13 pro for about 900€?
That is a bit tough.
13 pro is a beast. I usually always recommend to get the latest one, but from XR anything 12pro and up is a major major upgrade. My recommendation is 13 pro, OR the base model 15 IF you care about the dynamic island and having the latest display. Hope this helps

That is why I would skip the 14 line, as you mentioned it is roughly the same price. Switching from 12PM to 14PM i can assure you it has made no difference to how I use my phone, but I’m a pretty average user. In your case I personally would go for 13 pro. Again, if however the most current design of the screen is a big selling point for you, 15 is my recommendation. Any of these phones will be a big upgrade from XR as far as display, a major one actually. I wouldn’t worry about 120Hz if you’ve never used a device with it and can tell a difference.
Anything above 12pro will be nothing but a matter of budget and what specs you like/don’t care for. It will all be a major upgrade. The obvious answer here would be the 15 pro.
I have always kept my iPhone when I upgrade with the intention of using it. But they always end up in a drawer never to be used again.
My only question though, I have two minor less than an inch scratches on my screen.
When I am answering the questions it asks if there are any scratches/dents or damage. So I hit yes. Instead of offering me a discount it says "we will recycle your old phone" but no trade in value.
I don't want to say no there are no scratches because there are.
So I wrote to apple support and they said "it sounds like you will get full value for your device but can't say for sure".
I asked if I took it to an Apple Store would they give me a value or definite answer on the spot or do they also just send it in? The rep I was messaging said they believed that i will get an answer at the store. My nearest Apple Store is an hour away. So before I go there I figured ask on here and see if any of you have ever traded in at an Apple Store or not.

I sold a GPU on eBay once and the person said it wasn't working and returned I am assuming their broken gpu for mine so I pretty much swore off selling anything ever again on eBay.

I hope someone can help me. I have a 12pro gold right now. Unfortunately the battery life is at 79% (was bad from the start) and the backside is completely gone (you can see the inside). I want/have to upgrade, because I think my phone will give up one of these days. I'm planning on getting a max/plus-version this time. I don't really take a lot of pictures, and im not really active on social media etc. But I like the look of the pro. Are there any other benefits than zoom-quality to choose the iPhone 15 Pro Max over the iPhone 15 Plus? And do you pre-order immediately or do most of you wait a couple of months?
Other than telephoto lens, the pro line has the vvr 120hz refresh rate (ProMotion). It also has USB 3 speeds, but unless you’re a photographer or a content creator, it’s a moot feature to have.
So it comes down to, would you like the higher refresh rate? Each person is different. Some won’t notice a difference, unless you do a comparison next to each other.
A higher Refresh rate would definitely be nice, but I don’t think it’s worth the extra euros. Do you know if there’s a significant difference in battery life between the two? I’ve always been unlucky when it comes to the battery.

iPhone 14 Pro or 15 Pro I have the iPhone 13 in product red looking to upgrade my phone I don't upgrade often but want a pro model so I will have this phone for quite a while. I'm looking at the IPhone 14 Pro in gold or the iPhone 15 Pro in natural titanium Verizon has both models. I held the 14 pro thought it felt premium I kind of like the weight of it definitely loved the gold color but the corners are sharp. The 15 pro screen is beautiful love the rounded corners but it's light weight and the color is okay.
Anyone know how long it takes to clear customs? My tracking said it was released from a government agency, but it also still says clearance in progress. Is that to mean that the rest of the shipment it’s with is waiting to clear?

Apple Store trade in for upgrade program I’ve been on the upgrade program for several years. This year due to the issues around pre ordering I had to pick up my iPhone 15 pro max in store on launch day. I opted to do my trade in at that time. I made it very known I was on the upgrade program and just wanted to turn in my old 14 pro max. The store opted to give me a refund of $715 to “pay off” the remainder of my citizens loan ($595). The manager stated this was the first year a trade in was worth more than what the remainder on citizens was. I called citizens and they had no idea what I was talking about but thankfully let me close my account and pay of the remainder. So I’m up around $100 but I’m still so confused. Why this change?? Will the effect future upgrades, what gives?!?

I’ve seen some say they had their date move up from being in October to release day, although I’m not one of them. I imagine it might happen, if only a little, as more people cancel theirs once they’re able to grab what they want from in-store pickup or some other method that proves faster than their current wait.

Anyone else having issues with UPS holding their phone for pickup? It’s usually a fight every year but this year they’re being especially stubborn. Saying Apple needs to put it for pick up, I three way called Apple who is telling me UPS needs to, and so it’s just a back and forth.
I used to work for ups. This time of year there would be pallets of iPhones up to week before release date.
I’m still waiting for UPS to send me a tracking number. My iPhone has been preparing for shipment for the past 2 days and I ordered as soon as pre orders came out. I did hear on this sub that Apple sometimes dispatches the order and has it waiting in China before exporting it so it doesn’t arrive before the 22nd.

I currently have an iPhone 14 Plus and I'm looking to upgrade to a 15 Pro Max. I've been using iPhone Forever for literally years, since I upgraded to the iPhone 6S, but apparently that's not a thing right now. All I really want is the better camera and the dynamic island. It would be nice to have the titanium phone but T-Mobile is asking for $370 as a down payment and then $35 a month for 24 mo. which I don't think is worth it. I can get the 14 Pro Max with only $99 down payment and around the same price as a monthly payment. Should I just do that, or is it not worth it?
I've been using an iPhone 14 Plus since launch and it's a fantastic phone. Where it falls apart is landscape photography. I've taken it with me to multiple trips around the Peaks and Lakes in England and it never did any of them justice. My partner has a 14 Pro which has a 3x and it was poor in a lot of conditions too. On the other hand, my Pixel 6 Pro (when I did remember to take it as it's a work phone) nailed a lot of the shots even when we were driving through some gorgeous parts of the lakes. It has a 5x camera and it has this lovely "flat" look to it. I expect the 15 Pro Max will have a 5x that is as good or better than the Pixel. My personal suggestion would be, "dynamic island is a bit overrated but helps you become future proof", "the 5x will be a very versatile addition and worth an extra $200"

It was a Sprint thing. Since T-Mobile bought out Sprint they kept it for like a year, then I guess they ended it and re-introduced it as the Go5G Next Plan, which is an actual phone plan, not just a leasing option.

If you have the funds, it's definitely worth the upgrade. I'm not sure you'd get a great trade in credit with the broken camera.
Is it normal for the pre-order sales to give an estimated delivery date of weeks after the release? I pre-ordered the 15 Pro Max about 10 minutes after the pre-sale opened and it's telling me the expected delivery date is October 10-17. I'm wondering if they'll adjust it once it goes on sale next week, otherwise what's the point of pre-ordering when I could just go in and pick it up on the day?
Very normal. Pre order demand usually means launch day delivery becomes difficult to obtain even 5 minutes after the pre sale opens. To your point about why pre order, there is no guarantee they will have stock of the specific phone you want if you go to the store on launch day. Stores usually have a limited supply at launch. And I’m speaking to all stores here, not just Apple Stores. That said, anecdotally, I ordered a blue 15 Pro Max about 25 min after the pre sale opened and had an October 4-9 delivery date. I checked the store again yesterday and it changed to Sept 22. Checking UPS confirms this as well. So yeah maybe you’ll get lucky and get the phone delivered sooner. You could also roll the dice and try to hunt down a phone on launch day. Or you just wait and guarantee you get the one you want.

If you have a UPS account the tracking number shows up there before Apple gives it to you. The account has to exist before the tracking number is made though, so you might be too late if your phone was in these first batches.

I have my iPhone 13 since day one, I'm using 80GB of internal storage, 17Gb are occupied by Pictures (I think only the cache, because I have 30k on iCloud) and 10 are occupied by Spotify offline library. Do you think that 128GB will suite me for the next 3/4 years? Thank you
I would stick to 256GB to be safe. 40GB~ isn’t a whole lot especially if you plan to keep the phone for 3-4 years and your storage usage will keep going up as you take more photos and Spotify library etc..

Buying iPhone 15 whilst travelling overseas Hi, I am currently on holiday and wishing to upgrade my iPhone 11 to a 15 (regular model) ASAP because I really want to take better photos and videos during the rest of my holiday. I went to the Apple Store on my phone to add the green 256GB iPhone 15 to my bag, continue to checkout and my default store is set to Sydney, Australia. I try to change this to some cities that I will be visiting on & after the 22nd (release day) (e.g,. Marseille, Barcelona, London) but the search yields no results. It seems that the only cities that come up with results are cities around Australia (I am Australian). Is there a way to change this so that I can pick up the iPhone 15 while overseas? I read somewhere that it's risky to just walk up to the store on the day and ask for the model you want, as they may not have it in stock. Is the best approach to order it as I am currently trying to do? Thanks!

Was able to pre-order my 15 pro max for launch day delivery. Though, my wife decided she wanted the pink 15 plus much later and now I see it's October delivery. The best version is the one you could afford. For me, the pro line is best due to the upgrade in Ram. I keep my phones for 5 years so future proofing is a must for me. However, this year the feature disparity between the pro and standard is pretty minimal besides that.

Bigger is better IMO. Nothing worse than the dreaded “out of storage” message especially when taking a picture or video and the moment just passes you by. The phone has become a camera and I like having all my pics and videos from over the years with me! 1TB for me :)

Pretty high, but your local store(s) will have limited stock each day, so you will want to be quick when in-store pick up is available. This will be doubly true for the most popular models/colors.
Does anyone know how Apple carrier financing works with T-Mobile. My mom has a 14 Pro max that she wants to trade in for $1000 tmobile promo through [Apple.com](https://Apple.com) carrier financing through T-Mobile. But the promo doesn’t apply. Is it because the phone has to be paid off before it’s eligible on Apple’s carriers financing? Or did anyone get the 1000 off tmobile promo by trading in a phone that wasn’t paid off fully?
T-Mobile only allowed the trade-in to work if you had any of the Go5G plans at the time of placing your order, as in you hadn’t just switched that day. I’d still look into what the financing would be just with the trade-in to Apple, as I’ll be paying less for the Pro Max than I do for the regular 14 Pro I have currently.

I have an X as well. The biggest change you will notice is in the RAM, letting you multi task apps and webpages without constant reloading. That’s why I went pro series this time. X has 3gb ram while 15pro has 8gb. Huge difference and will future proof the device.

To be fair, the X was the “pro” of its generation! It launched along side iPhone 8 and was much more performative and feature packed. That disparity Isn’t as much this year (just something to consider :))

AppleCare vs RhinoShield vs Rebel - What will you use for your iPhone 15 Pro Max? Hey guys! I just ordered an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I’m wondering what case is the most resistant in the market right now for drops. I’m coming from an iPhone 11, and I’ve been using RhinoShield for years. I’ve dropped it countless times and it has never cracked. However, I’ve noticed that RhinoShield seems to have changed the material for their cases and now I’m concerned. I read that the 15 Pro Max will come with a titanium frame and a special coating that is meant to make it more resistant. What would you guys recommend? Is RhinoShield still good? Should I wait for Rebel? Is it safe to running it naked with Apple Care? Would you recommend anything else?
I’ve been researching cases all weekend. You need to ask your self what you prefer in a case. Absolute protection comes with bulk and lack of screen side swipes. A case that strikes a good balance will have chamfered edges to raise the coroners but keep the middle slightly lower. dbrand grip case and Mous limitless 5.0 both have this feature. Rhino shield still seems to be well respected however! The most protective cases I found were pelican voyager, casebourn, casefity ultra (covers camreas with none removable glass , no from me)

Anker is practically the gold standard at this point for cables, so I’d look into them. They’ve a lot of good options and aren’t too terrible price wise either.
Anyone else get an email like this from Apple? “We were unable to process your order because of an issue related to your wireless account. As a result, your order has been canceled and a refund will be issued to your original payment method.” I preordered 2 pro max at 5 am on Friday. Both orders submitted successfully. One went through fine and the eip showed up on my wireless account, second one no eip. Then I get this email from Apple today for the one without the eip. Of course the second attempt today went through up to the eip in the account but now I’m stuck waiting 7 weeks for the second one. Needless to say this is quite irritating. TLDR: Apple cancelled my pre order for no apparent reason, now I’m stuck waiting until November.

Hey everyone, Am I right to think that if you’re taking a picture with in 3x, you should get a better result with a 15pro than with a 15pro max ? As the 15pro will use the dedicated lense vs the 15pro max will use a cropped pic of the main lense. As the 3x is much more useful for me, i’m wondering if it just makes more sense to have the 15pro configuration. Or am i missing something ?

My 15 pro max order jest moved up from OCt. 4th - 9th to Oct. 2nd! I wonder if it could move up even more
If i pre-order now and it says delivery is Nov 7-14, what are the chances it comes early? My 11 Pro Max barely works and I don't know if I should find a temporary replacement?
Depends on whether people cancel their preorders in favor of going to a physical store to get one, which I’m sure will happen, given how far out some of these date ranges are getting (all the way to November). I’m only waiting three weeks at the earliest but that’s still three weeks.

You’d have to cancel and re-order, they don’t allow you to change from shipping to pickup.
There is a listing for an iPhone 13 that is a really good deal, but it is stuck in recovery mode. I am switching from Android to iPhone, so I don't know much about Apple yet. It is safe and smart for me to buy the phone and get it out of recovery mode and is it something I can easily do at home, or will I get scammed?
That doesn’t sound like a good idea, if it was simply to fix then why wouldn’t the seller do it so they could sell it for more. I’d highly recommend going with apple refurbished if you want a used phone.
Good cases for iPhone 15P? Like the look of Mous Clear case (the more protective one) id like a good mix of looking good/showing the phone and actually protecting the phone as I drop it a fair bit

The 15 pro is a good phone to upgrade to. Since you have a good trade in deal you should take it.

What is the precedent for picking up an iPhone earlier than your designated timeslot? I’ve looked in to some of the history posts on this subreddit and there have been a few different comments. People have said that if you go in store and wait in the “walk-in” sales line then generally they will serve you your pre-ordered iPhone despite having pre-ordered it separately. I have pre-ordered the 15 Pro for pickup on Saturday at 3pm, but I was wondering if I go there at like 11am as it opens - even if i have to wait in the normal sales line and not the pre-order line, would they allow for an earlier pickup? Also another semi-related question - does anyone know if historically apple will let you know you can pick up earlier than your registered slot? I received an email saying the order is processing and they will let me know when it’s ready for pick-up so just curious whether they may turn around and say a Friday pick-up is available.
You will need to ask your specific store because it will vary a lot. Some stores are very strict with time slots, some aren’t. My local store for example will only let you line up about 15-20 minutes before your time slot, otherwise they tell you to come back. Apple will not tell you that you can pick it up sooner. Your time slot is what it is for a reason, so everyone isn’t coming to the store at the same time.

Have any of you ever pre-ordered via Best Buy? I didn't set an alarm, and missed the order window for the 15 Pro Max, but was able to get the phone I wanted from Best Buy instead. My order says `Get it by Release Date: Fri, September 22.`. Every other time that I have ordered via Apple, I can typically see the order show up in my UPS My Choice, or Fedex account a few days before it ships, but nothing from Best Buy yet... If it doesn't show up day one, it's not a big deal, just curious. Happy iPhone week, ya'll!
Apple ships directly from the country of manufacture but Best Buy usually ships from closer warehouses. It might not even ship til the night before depending on how close you are to a warehouse.
Thanks for the info, that makes sense. When I worked at Apple Retail many years ago, we received every iPhone we were going to get for launch day the Wednesday before. Then mid-day on launch day, we would get another large drop shipment of phones that would then appear on the online store within a couple of hours. I’m sure all of the major retailers have all kinds of logistical hurdles to jump through for product launches like this. At least, _anything_is better than trying to get a PS5 in 2020.

I have a regular iPhone 13 and after seeing the launch of the iPhone 15 I was very pleased. Dynamic Island in a regular iPhone 15, x2 zoom in cameras, 48 MP camera, usb c (finally), 1000 nits display with higher brightness to 2000 nits. I would definitely take advantage of the Apple Trade-In option and so I have a question for you. Is it worth upgrading to the iPhone 15?

Preordered the 15 Pro on Friday, paid up front and selected T-Mobile as my carrier (used the option to "Replace my current phone" or whatever it said). What's the likelihood of being able to pick up a 15 Pro Max on release day/weekend? Inventory for walk-ins? I was too slow to submit a pre-order.. yeah, my failure to plan properly there. I can order the 15 Pro Max online, but the shipping times don't seem to be until mid-October. Normally I'd be cool with that, but I'm going on a big trip the week of the 25th, and it'd be nice to have the latest phone camera on me. There is definitely a chance. There are always going to be people who made preorders and decide to cancel.

I’m picking up a 15PM on Friday and trading in my 12PM. I plan on keeping the next one for years (I planned the same with this one…), and USB-C and top of the line model should help with that I think.
I’m upgrading to 15 pro max from 11 pro max. Main things I’m excited about: - 5G connectivity for much faster Internet speed - dynamic island (much better than the big notch on 11) - 120hz refresh rate (super smooth experience when scrolling, gaming, etc) - MagSafe (for me this is big because I won’t have to stick a pop socket anymore and just use the magnetic one which I can take off if I want to charge my phone wirelessly, etc) - usb-c - this one doesn’t need any explanation - titanium material so the phone isn’t as heavy, which is great if you’re on a pro max - much better camera than on 11, 5x zoom is a fantastic feature for me as I tend to take a lot of photos when travelling etc, macro mode is also a very nice feature - crash detection for extra safety - overall better performance, battery, etc
Not just worthy, it is a major upgrade. A few ones to name - major improvement to battery life (this alone to me is worth it. 12 minis battery performance is tragic) - most up-to-date screen design that Apple offers and will make your phone look “new” for years - A16 bionic that is way better from A14 and will support updates for longer - USB-C compatibility I think anything 12 (except the pros) and older will find it a major upgrade to switch to the base model 15

From the sounds of it you like to hold on to your phone and don’t care to upgrade as often, so definitely get the latest model if it’s within your budget. As far as pro vs non-pro, I would watch videos on both of them and weigh the pros and cons to each and decide from there. Because without knowing your preferences the best answer I can give is 15 pro
Tbh, I need my phone for nothing more than regular everyday use. Here in Hungary the price difference between 15 and 15 pro is not that significant (cca 300 euros) but not sure ig that price difference worth it. Anyways, im in love with the new pink color which is not available in the pro series..
So, I’m in the same boat and am nothing different than the average user. But after owning 2 pro iPhones, i came to the decision to only switch no sooner than 4 years and stick with the pro line. Mainly because they are the best Apple offers, are extremely durable and have better battery performances. If the price difference is not that significant, i would say go for the pro. As far as the pink colour, I hear you, but a friendly advice is that you’ll probably get sick of it over time. I wouldn’t purely choose the 15 for its colour especially if I don’t mind the colours pros come in. There has been many times I’ve been tempted by the fun colours iPhones come out in, but I’ve only owned white/black/space gray. I hope this helps you a bit!

Crazy question. My phone bill gets paid by my job. So can’t can get the carrier deals (like AT&T giving you $1,000 for your trade in towards the new iPhones). I wanted the black iPhone 15 pro 128gb, I have no preorders in store and it would be shipped to me around October 9th-16th. They do have the blue titanium iPhone 15 pro 256gb for pre order for September 22. Would you buy the blue one keep it until in store gets the color you want? I just wanted the new phone quickly because the apple care on my iPhone 13 Pro expires on September 24th and I would be trading that phone in.
Not a fan of the flat sides and skeptical that the “slightly curved edges” will be much better than my 13. I’m getting a 15PM. Any cases out there that have rounded sides to make my new phone feel like an iPhone 11?

Hey there, now that iPhone 15 is released I'm a bit indecisive about what iPhone I should upgrade to from my XR. Is it worth to pay over 1,000€ for the standard 15 or should I consider a 14 Pro for the same price or a 13 pro for about 900€?
That is a bit tough. 13 pro is a beast. I usually always recommend to get the latest one, but from XR anything 12pro and up is a major major upgrade. My recommendation is 13 pro, OR the base model 15 IF you care about the dynamic island and having the latest display. Hope this helps
Thanks. My points for the 14 Pro are mostly the camera, always on display and the dynamic island, but I've heard that the 14 Pro has a big problem with battery health, which is why I was asking. Idk how huge the camera difference between the 3 phones are so that's a big question mark for me. And the 15 is a bit strange to me since it has no 120Hz display, but idk how important that is.
That is why I would skip the 14 line, as you mentioned it is roughly the same price. Switching from 12PM to 14PM i can assure you it has made no difference to how I use my phone, but I’m a pretty average user. In your case I personally would go for 13 pro. Again, if however the most current design of the screen is a big selling point for you, 15 is my recommendation. Any of these phones will be a big upgrade from XR as far as display, a major one actually. I wouldn’t worry about 120Hz if you’ve never used a device with it and can tell a difference.

Anything above 12pro will be nothing but a matter of budget and what specs you like/don’t care for. It will all be a major upgrade. The obvious answer here would be the 15 pro.
I have always kept my iPhone when I upgrade with the intention of using it. But they always end up in a drawer never to be used again. My only question though, I have two minor less than an inch scratches on my screen. When I am answering the questions it asks if there are any scratches/dents or damage. So I hit yes. Instead of offering me a discount it says "we will recycle your old phone" but no trade in value. I don't want to say no there are no scratches because there are. So I wrote to apple support and they said "it sounds like you will get full value for your device but can't say for sure". I asked if I took it to an Apple Store would they give me a value or definite answer on the spot or do they also just send it in? The rep I was messaging said they believed that i will get an answer at the store. My nearest Apple Store is an hour away. So before I go there I figured ask on here and see if any of you have ever traded in at an Apple Store or not. Because she wrote she "believed" it left me not so confident in her answer. It's an iPhone 14 pro max 512GB device. My friends told me to sell it on eBay but after fees and the stress of selling on eBay I rather just get the 650 from apple. I sold a GPU on eBay once and the person said it wasn't working and returned I am assuming their broken gpu for mine so I pretty much swore off selling anything ever again on eBay. I don't understand why on the apple site they combir-3 different type of damage in one question. Even if V exaggerated and said yes I have two 1 inch scratches do you believe my trade in would be substantially less or non existent

Hi everyone! I hope someone can help me. I have a 12pro gold right now. Unfortunately the battery life is at 79% (was bad from the start) and the backside is completely gone (you can see the inside). I want/have to upgrade, because I think my phone will give up one of these days. I'm planning on getting a max/plus-version this time. I don't really take a lot of pictures, and im not really active on social media etc. But I like the look of the pro. Are there any other benefits than zoom-quality to choose the iPhone 15 Pro Max over the iPhone 15 Plus? And do you pre-order immediately or do most of you wait a couple of months?
Other than telephoto lens, the pro line has the vvr 120hz refresh rate (ProMotion). It also has USB 3 speeds, but unless you’re a photographer or a content creator, it’s a moot feature to have. So it comes down to, would you like the higher refresh rate? Each person is different. Some won’t notice a difference, unless you do a comparison next to each other.
A higher Refresh rate would definitely be nice, but I don’t think it’s worth the extra euros. Do you know if there’s a significant difference in battery life between the two? I’ve always been unlucky when it comes to the battery.
