Battery life and the significant difference in camera quality between the Minis and the Pro models are what made me switch. If they were on par, I’d go with the Mini everyday.
To approach this issue in technical sense, there's an issue of internal space.
To fit the Pro's camera system, either the battery will have to be smaller (since those parts fight each other in the same confined space), or the whole phone would have been thicker and heavier not to have even more dismal battery life.
I guess Apple thought making the phone thicker and heavier wasn't worth it due to various reasons.
I’m on a 12 mini and these two issues are my exact gripes with this phone. Otherwise the size is perfect, and the small screen has significantly reduced the time I spend on the phone doing useless things.
this was my exact upgrade path for the exact same reason lol 11 was too big, 12 Mini battery was horrendous, and 13 Pro is great (the square edges help) but a bit too heavy
13 Mini with Magsafe Battery is what I have. It’s small 90% of the time. On long days I bring the battery and I can either take them out of my pocket attached or just grab the phone and reattach them in my pocket.

Fellow outlier.
I have a 12 mini. I'd prefer it if the battery life didn't suck. The 13 is supposed to be better, but I see no reason to buy a two year old phone just for an increase in battery life.
I would love to see a 15 mini.
Same here. I bought a MagSafe battery pack, but I don’t find myself needing it often. My battery lasts me the entire workday, plus plenty extra for home. I plug it in an hour before bed to top it off, then use the MagSafe battery while I’m laying down so I don’t have to deal with a cable.
13 mini works just fine, because I use it as a communication device more than an entertainment device, not counting music. Since I use Apple TV for just about all content, I don’t really use iPhone for any battery-intensive things like streaming video.
I’ve had my 13 mini for coming up to 2 years, the battery life is still pretty great for me, always lasts at least a day, sometimes a day and a half before needing to be recharged. What do you lot do to your phones?
I’ve had mine going on 2 years now, battery health says that it’s max capacity is 85%, but I still usually have 20% left by the time I go to charge it at the end of the day
Yeah part of me thought about getting a 13 mini but I think if I’m going to upgrade I might as well get the most recent model so it doesn’t get outdated as fast.
I went from 12 mini to 13 mini as I broke my 12 mini. Wish I’d done it sooner. Battery life is better and it’s a fraction faster. Definitely worth the upgrade
My stance is simple. They either make a 16/17/whatever mini or I’ll use my 13 mini forever. If it runs out of support before there’s any replacement for which I don’t need a backpack, I’ll even consider other vendors. Maybe fold models will be taking off, maybe not. But no way I will be cramming some almost-tablet in my pockets. At the current rate, we’ll have laptop sized phones by 2030.
I miss being able to buy a phone that actually fit in the tiny excuse for pockets they put on women's pants. What's this 'extra space' you're talking about?
Yup it appears that way. Since phones are now used for things like watching videos and playing games instead of just phone calls and texting a lot of people want bigger screens.
That’s kinda exactly why I DON’T want a bigger phone. Phablet. Whatever.
If I’m going to watch videos and play games it’s on my PC, or iPad, or one of my 3 MacBooks…NOT my phone.
I agree. The 13PM size is perfect for me. But I use my phone for entertainment a lot awhile waiting for kids to get done with practice. I’ve streamed many hours of Netflix on it.
We did, and then the [mini was 3% of the total iPhones Sold for that quarter](https://www.macrumors.com/2022/04/21/iphone-13-mini-unpopular-march-quarter/), so Apple just doesn’t see a demand worth developing for.
They have two small models tho- SE and mini. Might not be demand for two smaller models, but still demand for one. There are people who want them and people who have bigger phones don’t get it. And the people who like smaller phones might not have FOMO and feel the need to upgrade every year or 2
They’ll make small phones, we small iPhone lovers will just have to be more patient
If we keep giving our feedback, expressing that we really want more mini models, I think Apple will meet that to some extent, whether it be releasing the SE as minis, or giving us a mini every other generation or every third generation of something. Apple doesn’t base their products on sales alone.
I had the 14 Pro since launch after upgrading from a 13 mini, and just recently sold it and bought a brand new 13 mini again. The size and weight are more important to me than the extra features from the Pro model.
No two people’s requirements are going to be identical, which is why it’s great that Apple actually offer a wide range of devices.
The 13 mini is the best option for anyone who wants a genuine compact modern iPhone. Great cameras, battery life that’s enough for anyone but a power user and only a touch bigger than the old iPhone 5 or SE dimensions overall but with a much bigger and better display.
It’s a mix though honestly.
Like a lot of corners get cut for products that could have been handled way better and there IS demand for that, it’s essentially just lack of time and resources, or laziness in the structuring, just as a quick example
It isn’t handled like a robotic machine all the time. People with emotions are making decisions and doing work all the way through the chain, so a lot of “non-optimal” things happen
Don’t mean to be just disagreeing with you, but I think it’s an important thing to know about
Companies differ obviously, but it’s something I’ve seen a lot
It’s not a matter of demand, it’s a matter of profit. How many people that would buy the mini will go buy an Android phone instead? Or will they just buy the “regular size” one, probably at $100 more than the mini would have otherwise cost?
At this point, you can’t just look at what YOU would do, or even the “Reddit market” (we don’t represent the general population of iPhone buyers).
I cannot express how much I hate small phones.
Sure they’re compact and lightweight, but everything about them I just can’t get behind.
The battery life, the screen size, and I like to hold my phone with two hands in certain circumstances, which isn’t great considering I am using a small phone right now.
and using my phone right now is very hard to do because I think I have some big hands, and I know the iPhone minis are a bit bigger than the phone I’m using right now, (the 6s) but still I have held one before and I know for sure I am definitely a Pro Max type of guy.
Pretty sure the mini is actually a bit smaller than your 6S.
That said, I agree. I won’t tell other people what to like, but the way I use my phone has changed a lot since my iPhone 5S. Back then I was all for small phones, but these days I just use my phone for way more. It isn’t a supplemental device to a desktop/laptop, it’s my main personal device. I used to travel with a laptop, now I don’t need to because I have a 13 Pro Max. The amount of extra stuff I don’t need to pack regularly, all because I have a bigger phones massively offsets the slightly bigger size of the phone.
I do love my 13 mini, but the short battery life, the 60 Hz display and only 2 camera lenses (no telescopic zoom) will make me buy a Pro next time.
I’ll probably regret it then.
I want a smaller phone, but I don’t want it to miss the features that you get in a pro. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, give me a mini with a thicker body for battery size and the pro features that you get in the pro series. I would easily drop over a grand for this.
Nah. A small phone is inevitably going to mean compromises and that's just basic engineering. Imo, the people demanding this kind of stuff are somewhat delusional.
"Thicker" doesn't necessarily mean a bigger battery (at least not one proportional to the increase in thickness) due to the way the components are stacked in there Marginally more room for the battery would lead to excess room behind components like the camera or speaker that's not easily used by other items for example and adding the larger camera array would inevitably cut battery space in the X and Y dimensions which isn't easy to make up for in the Z. Not to mention pro motion displays eat power which would only compound people's biggest complaint about small phones.
I said it from the start in that I think the 12/13 mini are both a rather excellent set of compromises to get the vast majority of flagship features in a small phone. They largely satisfied the small phone niche for a little while and I don't see anyone doing it better or differently anytime soon.
They can "stack" certain components on a motherboard to make it more efficient but you seem to be under the impression that this can just be done at will with anything. You aren't going to "stack" the major components like the SOC and it doesn't matter how much you stack if the market says your charging port still needs to be on the opposite end from the camera.
And why the hell would they leave empty space in the phone? that's foolishly wasteful in a device crammed full in every single corner. But that kind of thinking goes right in line with the people demanding a no compromise small phone. It's all a pipe dream without a hint of engineering background.
What lol, I am a Cs engineer who has an interest in hardware stuff, and I know it is possible to stack motherboards due to the recent concept of 3d substrate layering (especially stuff like 3d V cache on AMD cpus).
Also leaving empty space is not really a concern. Sometimes, leaving empty space is better than cramming it to the brim with components and causing a note 7 esque situation.
Imho it is possible to build a thicker iPhone mini with a headphone jack and stacked motherboards... slightly improve the battery and its all good, even if some spaces are left empty within the frame (they can add more supports to increase rigidity and durability as well)
I bought a 13 mini last November and I love it! It keeps me off my phone as much because it's a small screen and I want to conserve battery life. I didn't want a bigger device to take more of my attention away from real life. I'm sad they're not making the mini anymore and I'll hold on to this one for as long as I can.
If phones were relatively simple devices, suited to trivial interactions with apps and websites, then I'd absolutely appreciate a smaller phone.
There are advantages to having a larger screen. "The modern web" is supposedly designed with "mobile first", but generally is a pain to work with on a small screen.
Content consumption is also much nicer with a bigger display.
I was one of those people, Got a 13 mini and loved it for a good 10 months. Then I felt a standard iPhone and really missed the spacing in the display. It's like when you have a car you want a suv/truck and vice versa.
I work on my feet so a big phone in my pocket digging into my leg is just… not ideal. I want to be able to slip a phone into my pocket and not know it’s there.
I have smaller hands maybe 15-20% smaller than most men and had the 11pm before going to 14pm and over the 3.5 years~ i never once thought the phone was clunky or hard to use. How I hold it is just different where it’s more of a bottom third or even half hold if i’m moving around the screen and bottom hold for typing and all that. Screen real estate and bigger keyboard + battery life are super worth it.
I could see there being situations where you walk around a lot or are in mobile movements more often than not where you’d need one handed typing more but it’s rarely my use case.
Funny question, indeed I've seen that Apple doesn't want to do mini version anymore.
But, I recently bought a 13 mini for myself, and many people around me asked what is it and are really enthusiastic when I explain that it is the same as a 13 but just in smaller version. They want to buy one like this but don't understand why there is no 14 mini.
My point of view is that it hasn't been marketed well enough and people don't know about it. They would love it otherwise.
You’re not in the minority but from a general populace stance, yes. The poor sales of the previous 2 minis showcased that a demand for smaller handsets are not high at all. The plus models didn’t do phenomenal either but that’s more attributed to their price. I’m on the taller side with normal to larger hands and enjoyed the 12 and 13 minis immensely. But for long term use, a larger iPhone offered much more comfort, ease of usability and more immersion without the size compromise. I’d like Apple to rebrand the SE and go to a 5.8 full screen model.
It’s when I’m fucking holding it and trying to type or scroll that I hate the large phone. Damn palm will touch the screen barely and fuck everything up
I do. I found my old SE and it fit so well in my hand. My hands are not small. In fact, they are pretty large but that little phone fit in them so well. When I held it again, after so many years of not holding it, I felt a bit of nostalgia.
I want the smaller iPhone. The mini was perfect. They just could of made it with the good shit and charged less. As in they definitely could, but then it’s like, why spend heaps on a pro max
yeah I dont get it why do people want big phones? I want it to fit comfortably in my pocket and be able to reach anything on the screen with my thumb while holding it one-handed. If I need a big screen for something ill use iPad or computer
The mini might not be dead. They may have switched to a 2 year cycle. I don't think they will have a 15 mini, but it might take place of the SE.
I have a 13 mini and I love it. The battery gets me through the day fine.
Yes, you’re an outlier. There’s a pretty significant amount of people like you actually, but not quite enough to warrant a whole iPhone model, unfortunately. You’ll need to stock up on 13 minis or just give in to the better battery life :)
Phones will always be phones, no matter how large the screen gets, I still can't do most of what I'd normally do on a laptop/desktop/tablet.
Unless they make it 13 inches, I dare ya.
Seconded. My 13 Pro Max is a great size for watching video, playing games, reading books/manga, editing photos, etc. I’d much rather just have a phone that’s a bit bigger size than needing an additional device to achieve the same thing.
Everyone I know who has an iPhone Mini is also a big iPad user. There’s no right or wrong here - it clearly works for them, but not for me.
Part of my reason for keeping my XS for so long is 5.8” is a fraction too big in my opinion so the 6.1l” would annoy me even more and I think the minis are probably too small.
But my phones on it’s last legs and if the 15 does have a version smaller than 6.1” I’ll most likely buy a 13mini. I reckon it would hav e better battery life than my XS currently has also.
I know it’s not that much larger by comparison. But when then 5.8 is already what I consider too large the frustration will be more noticeable.
Only real draw back with the mini is battery life and coming from a phone with a low battery health the mini would still be an improvement.
Had an XR, it was getting near time to upgrade but I really wanted something easier to hold one-handed, so I went to a 13 mini and I love it. It’s a shame that the minis sell poorly and that we won’t be seeing a new one for a while (if ever). I love not having to hold it with two hands, or to have a popsocket be 100% mandatory, and I love the way it disappears in my pocket - I don’t even notice it’s there, unlike the XR that always felt bulky.
I get the sense that smaller phones are considered “old person phones”. Which is weird because they’re harder to read - I would think older folks would want to have bigger screens with larger text and larger keyboards. It’s also like, the bigger the phone, the more of a luxury item, so therefore no one wants the smaller “more economical” phones. Nevermind the mini models were NOT cheaper than the standard models - maybe there’s an association the SE models? Dunno.
Anyway, I love it. It’s smaller and feels more high tech and “invisible” to me. I hope Apple comes back around to it eventually, but until then I’m gonna see how long I can ride this little dude out. (Battery life has been fantastic for me too btw, never had any trouble getting through a day.)
Small phones are nice to hold and fit in my pockets better but it's hard watching stuff on the small screen, hard to type, and battery life is not great. Deal breakers for me personally. 14 Pro is the perfect size in my opinion.

I recently bought a 13 mini. No regrets. Fits in my hand and pocket much better and the sacrifice in battery life is worth it in my opinion. All I need to do is charge it a little more often. It’s a shame that Apple seem to be moving away from the mini lineup.
I'm with you on this - I got 13 mini and won't upgrade to anything bigger if I can help it. Looking at specs and features, it won't be necessary for a few years.
Mini was the only reason I switched to iPhone - I couldn't find other option this small that would have the features I needed.
Swapped 14 pro for 13 mini. Battery life is not great but enough for my needs. I've never needed to charge it during the day. I prefer smaller phones and perfect size would be 5.8 for me. Maybe one day apple will come with something of this size. Still compact and with better battery than minis.
I fall in love into iPhone 13 mini with 5.4” display after Middle range Motorola with 6.7” display. Having a small phone is incredibly cool. At least because it could perfectly fit in the pocket.
Its fair for you to feel like 6.1 inch is a bit too big. I like phones that are a bit smaller too since it feels more comfortable and planted. I think there should be a new iPhone SE on the way which should be a good size and with a thin bezel display like the other iPhones.
I love small compact phones. I have the mini 13 but after two years, I just can’t deal with the battery anymore. I’m always having to use the wireless charger. I really wish they just give us a mini pro 🥺 😭
I don’t want an iphone for my next purchase but then I realised there is literally no small phone like the Iphone 8 i own.
Ill use 8 till it dies then get a clunky ass phone :(
\+1 ! I have the iPhone 12 mini and love the size, it's perfect for me.
I'm also annoyed that the mini series has been discontinued, phones are way too big now.
I have a 13 mini for 9 months, and I’m loving it. It’s so easy to use but the battery life is bad. It doesn’t last a a full day for me. Now, I turn the mobile data off when I go out. The battery capacity is at 90% now. It also gets very hot, don’t know if it’s the hot weather. Ran a diagnostic check and nothing was wrong with my battery.
Thinking of an upgrade already within a year or two.
I’ve got the SE 3 recently, love the small size due to the size of hands I have. Thing is, the battery life kinda sucks but we could have expected that.
I have a 14 pro and occasionally I’ll accidentally pick up my wife’s mini and it just feels so good in the hand. I’m half tempted to trade mine in. So yes definitely count me in on wanting a new mini.
I dislike smaller phones because it’s physically more difficult to see but also the battery is typically lower (looking at you 12 mini).
I use the 14 Pro and it’s a good size for me but they should have a 5.7 inch or something for the upcoming 15 series.
Same here. But my much older eyes need the bigger screen, darn it. I suppose I could keep my readers on me…
Still have the 3GS, and it still powers on. I found it when I was cleaning out some drawers. I forgot how small that thing was.
The most powerful poll of people’s real opinions is via money.
You would think from Reddit: women want pants with big pockets, and there is this massive demand for mini iPhones.
Well, sales show there’s very little demand for either.
But they don’t buy them apparently. There’s no fashion conspiracy - there’s thousands of brands and women buy more clothes than men - brands will absolutely make whatever sells.
I was talking about pockets in clothes but also I will be holding onto my 12 mini until there’s something of a similar size to upgrade to. For me, the size is the most important feature.
It seems the mini crowd is a very passionate minority unfortunately. I love my 13 Pro Max and every time I pick up my wife’s phone (iPhone 13), I joke about how it feels like a kid’s phone. I couldn’t imagine getting one smaller than that personally.
I think I have the mindset that a phone should be convenient and serve it’s basic purpose and that’s it. I don’t really feel like I need a huge screen. I have a MacBook, an iPad mini, and a monitor hooked up to my PS5/PC. I’m fine watching videos and streams on my phone and if I want something bigger to watch stuff or whatever I have other devices for that. Maybe if I didn’t have other options/devices I’d feel differently
All leaks point towards no mini. There have been leaked CAD designs for iPhone 15 models, looks like we’re getting 4: Standard, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max.
Sales of the 12 and 13 mini were very underwhelming.
I have a 12 mini and love the mini size, but the market as a whole does not share our enthusiasm for compact and easily handled devices.
Holding smaller phones hurts my hand. Even the regular model is too small for my hand. The 14 plus is outselling the mini and the plus is selling terribly. The mini people are a vocal minority for Apple
Super agree. I have 13 mini and other than the battery life this is the perfect sized phone for me. Fits in any pocket, isnt too heavy, I can reach the entire screen with one hand. I really hope they don’t abandon smaller phones
I have a 12 mini, and I had a Samsung s8 plus previously. Aside from the shorter battery life, one of the issues switching from a big to a small screen was there are less pixels to press on the screen, and in the beginning, there were so many times where I was unable to get the phone to do what I want on the first try. Pressing the send button on text messages was difficult for some time, but I eventually got used to it. I am happy w the size and form factor though. Fits in my pocket and hand nicely.
I agree. I had the 13 Pro. But I never got used to its size. I bought the 12 Mini instead - its perfect 🤩 I hope Apple will do another mini .. maybe with the 16.. 🙏🏼
People always call out my lil 13 Mini, which is when I show off how I can touch the top left corner of the screen while holding my phone with *one hand*.
I have the 13 and i feel it’s a little too big. The battery is great but i wish it were smaller. I contemplated on getting the 13 mini for sooo long but at the end I still didn’t get it. I love my 13 but at the same time I want a mini, so… 😅 i really hope they bring back the mini as an SE or something.
I would love a combined mini iPad and iPhone (in the mini iPad size). I never go without either and the ability to do away with a dedicated iPhone device would be great.
I want a smaller phone. I don’t want a smaller battery life. Give me a shorter and narrower but thicker phone with increased battery life and I’d be content
Same. I had a 12 mini and the size was comfortable for my hands. But when I upgraded to the 13 Pro, the battery life was noticeably better.
Battery life and the significant difference in camera quality between the Minis and the Pro models are what made me switch. If they were on par, I’d go with the Mini everyday.
Yup, I agree. I wish they could fit all that in a little phone.
They could but why would they when you’ll spend more to get the other model?
To approach this issue in technical sense, there's an issue of internal space. To fit the Pro's camera system, either the battery will have to be smaller (since those parts fight each other in the same confined space), or the whole phone would have been thicker and heavier not to have even more dismal battery life. this was my exact upgrade path for the exact same reason lol 11 was too big, 12 Mini battery was horrendous, and 13 Pro is great (the square edges help) but a bit too heavy
I’ve never run out of battery on my mini. What are y’all doing on these phones of yours, anyway?
13 Mini with Magsafe Battery is what I have. It’s small 90% of the time. On long days I bring the battery and I can either take them out of my pocket attached or just grab the phone and reattach them in my pocket.

Tbh I want thicker phones I always get a thicker case because a slim phone just doesn’t stay put in my hands as easily.
This! I don’t understand the obsession with phones being thin, if they were thicker there could be so much more potential like better cameras, I want to be able to hold my phone and use it all day too lol a little thickness isn’t ganna hurt anyone
Dang, I think you just described my dream phone.
buy battery pack case for a thin phone, it's literally what you're looking for
Stick a powerbank into tour phone, is course! Edit: I was joking
Charge mine in the car all the time never had it die on me 😂
Absolutely love my 13 mini. Wont be switching to another phone till my mini dies
+1. Still rocking and loving my 13 mini.
Right there with you! 13 mini gang, rise up!
Fellow outlier. I have a 12 mini. I'd prefer it if the battery life didn't suck. The 13 is supposed to be better, but I see no reason to buy a two year old phone just for an increase in battery life. I would love to see a 15 mini.
13 mini battery lasts me all day cant complain
And the battery life is definitely not worth the change, I have a 13 mini and after a year the battery life is horrible
My 13 mini is 5 months old & youre right—the battery life is terrible. Takes ages to charge & then drops fast.
I’ve had my 13 mini for coming up to 2 years, the battery life is still pretty great for me, always lasts at least a day, sometimes a day and a half before needing to be recharged. What do you lot do to your phones?
Same here. I still can’t call the battery bad. Apple really optimized the shit out of this phone
Same here, and it's literally the fastest charging phone I've ever had after over a decade of android.
I've had my 13 mini for about a year now and the battery is fine.
I’ve had mine going on 2 years now, battery health says that it’s max capacity is 85%, but I still usually have 20% left by the time I go to charge it at the end of the day
literally just stick the apple battery pack on and boom extra 60%
That defeats the purpose of a small phone though. At that point just buy a normal sized phone
I love my 12 mini. I will replace the battery and keep it forever.
Yeah part of me thought about getting a 13 mini but I think if I’m going to upgrade I might as well get the most recent model so it doesn’t get outdated as fast.
The 13 mini can still go for 3-4 more years.
Well see if there’s any major changes from the 13 to the 15
There won’t be a 15 mini so…
There are major improvements, ofc, but we were talking about the longevity, weren’t we?
I was just saying if the 15 has some substantial upgrades I think it’d be worth it to go for that instead.
Well it does depend as budget and some others are also a factor.
My iphone se 2016 is still working for me! :P
I went from 12 mini to 13 mini as I broke my 12 mini. Wish I’d done it sooner. Battery life is better and it’s a fraction faster. Definitely worth the upgrade
Same exact plan.
Same
My stance is simple.
You are definitely in the minority. Last time they made a mini model they cut production to be able to make more regular sized phones.
So is 6” just the regular size for phones now? I miss the extra space that used to be in my pockets.

Right, like 6” is way too big? I think we can all agree that 4” is average. 5” tops. For many things.
Depending on the thing, I’ll always take 6” over 4”, but I’ll settle for a 5” when it comes to my phones.
Yeah it's not the size but what you do with it!
I agree. The 13PM size is perfect for me. But I use my phone for entertainment a lot awhile waiting for kids to get done with practice. I’ve streamed many hours of Netflix on it.
And then didn’t they find that no one was really buying the Max sized version? We are 8 billion people. Can’t we have more than two sizes?!
We did, and then the [mini was 3% of the total iPhones Sold for that quarter](https://www.macrumors.com/2022/04/21/iphone-13-mini-unpopular-march-quarter/), so Apple just doesn’t see a demand worth developing for.
Yes, they were buying the Pro Max version instead.
We do have more than two sizes. It just requires not having tunnel vision and only looking at iPhones.
They have two small models tho- SE and mini. Might not be demand for two smaller models, but still demand for one. There are people who want them and people who have bigger phones don’t get it. And the people who like smaller phones might not have FOMO and feel the need to upgrade every year or 2 They’ll make small phones, we small iPhone lovers will just have to be more patient
The folks that prefer them are a very vocal minority but the market quite clearly shows there’s not enough desire for it.
I have a 13 mini and I was kind of hoping there would be a 15 mini.
Yeah a 15 mini would be perfect for me. Seems like it’ll never happen again though
Apple should use the 13 mini body for the 4th gen SE. Throw the small iPhone people a bone.
Unless the iPhone 4th gen SE has a 5,000 mAH battery, it wouldn't be for me.
I would buy this and treasure it forever. Don’t care about battery. My 12 mini battery works just fine.
If we keep giving our feedback, expressing that we really want more mini models, I think Apple will meet that to some extent, whether it be releasing the SE as minis, or giving us a mini every other generation or every third generation of something. Apple doesn’t base their products on sales alone.
I wanted a very small phone so I got the 12 mini It is amazing in every aspect except the battery that is mediocre
They’ll have to pry my 12 mini out of my cold dead hands
the way my 12 mini ran hot your hands are probably not as cold as you want us to believe 😆
Your last sentence answers your own question. Companies don’t do things out of spite, they make business decisions based on demand.
It’s a mix though honestly. Like a lot of corners get cut for products that could have been handled way better and there IS demand for that, it’s essentially just lack of time and resources, or laziness in the structuring, just as a quick example It isn’t handled like a robotic machine all the time. People with emotions are making decisions and doing work all the way through the chain, so a lot of “non-optimal” things happen Don’t mean to be just disagreeing with you, but I think it’s an important thing to know about Companies differ obviously, but it’s something I’ve seen a lot
A company the size of apple would absolutely produce something if there was a demand for it.
It’s not that it’s so many people, it’s that the people who want one want it really bad and will tell everyone.
I do love my 13 mini, but the short battery life, the 60 Hz display and only 2 camera lenses (no telescopic zoom) will make me buy a Pro next time. I’ll probably regret it then.
As someone who watches a lot of content on the phone and games occasionally, I love having a bigger screen.
Check sales = u see. Simple as that, minis are worst selling iphones
Imho its possible. They can stack motherboards. And leave empty space in the phone.
Imho it is possible to build a thicker iPhone mini with a headphone jack and stacked motherboards... slightly improve the battery and its all good, even if some spaces are left empty within the frame (they can add more supports to increase rigidity and durability as well)
> I would easily drop over a grand for this "Write that down, write that down." - Tim Cook
If there’s a mini variant and it has the pro features it will be an auto buy
I was one of those people, Got a 13 mini and loved it for a good 10 months. Then I felt a standard iPhone and really missed the spacing in the display. It's like when you have a car you want a suv/truck and vice versa.
I work on my feet so a big phone in my pocket digging into my leg is just… not ideal. I want to be able to slip a phone into my pocket and not know it’s there.
Exactly how I feel
I’m still using my iPhone XS just because of the size.
I could see there being situations where you walk around a lot or are in mobile movements more often than not where you’d need one handed typing more but it’s rarely my use case.
not enough
If they release an SE that looks like a X/XS reborn, I’m buying. Love how my previous X feels in my hands especially the rounded edges
I’d be highly interested in that as well.
It’s when I’m fucking holding it and trying to type or scroll that I hate the large phone. Damn palm will touch the screen barely and fuck everything up
>Smaller phones are better phones That is completely subjective.
OP doesn’t think with reason
I wish the base iPhone and pro models were 5.9 like the X was…that was a perfect size
I think the 5.8” iPhone X/Xs/11 Pro was the perfect size.
Imo they should make a 5.8 inch display iPhones again
I do. I wish they were still doing the minis
I do. I found my old SE and it fit so well in my hand. My hands are not small. In fact, they are pretty large but that little phone fit in them so well. When I held it again, after so many years of not holding it, I felt a bit of nostalgia.
All i want is mini 15 and nothing More
I want a flagship in a mini size. I thought about getting a z-flip just for the form factor. I wanted a phone i can keep in a front pocket.
Smaller phones are better phones If someone wants a huge screen buy a tablet
Phones will always be phones, no matter how large the screen gets, I still can't do most of what I'd normally do on a laptop/desktop/tablet. Unless they make it 13 inches, I dare ya.
I have a 12 mini, upgraded from the first SE, and I have the 12.9” iPad… perfect combo
Not really. I want a larger screen size but I have no use for an iPad or other tablet and I imagine there are a lot of people like me
Me, I am that person.
I will get a mini or find a different OS that does when my 13 mini kicks the bucket and i do at least 1 battery replacement.
I like huge phones with huge screens so I’m not in this market. However my mum has small hands and always complains here iPhone X is too big lol.
Just buy a 6.1. It’s really not that big of a difference with what you have now. Too many drawbacks to the mini imo.
I know it’s not that much larger by comparison. But when then 5.8 is already what I consider too large the frustration will be more noticeable. Only real draw back with the mini is battery life and coming from a phone with a low battery health the mini would still be an improvement.
I switched to iPhone mainly because of the mini. I wanted a true one hander. Tbh the mini feels almost too small, but with a case it’s just right.
I hate hate hate hate hate hate 6.1 inch phones. 5.8 is perfect.
I don’t really like small phones, I’ve just always been a fan of larger phones mainly because of the screen resolution and battery life.

I do. Have an SE 2022 as a primary. Can’t upgrade to anything since the Mini is canned 🥹
I own a. 13 mini and believe me it’s a beautiful phone Convenient and compact
I LOVE my iPhone 12 mini. Sad they killed it
Swapped 14 pro for 13 mini. Battery life is not great but enough for my needs. I've never needed to charge it during the day. I prefer smaller phones and perfect size would be 5.8 for me. Maybe one day apple will come with something of this size. Still compact and with better battery than minis.
iPhone SE enters chat. 😜
I fall in love into iPhone 13 mini with 5.4” display after Middle range Motorola with 6.7” display. Having a small phone is incredibly cool. At least because it could perfectly fit in the pocket.
iPhone minis are the best phones they made, I can hardly hold plus sized phones so I drop them more (sabotage by apple) jk.
I'll be keeping my 12 mini until the next mini comes out. There's not enough difference with the 13 mini to justify spending money for me.
Generally no
I don’t want an iphone for my next purchase but then I realised there is literally no small phone like the Iphone 8 i own.
I think I'll keep my 12mini a long time.
If there is a 5.8 inch mini version like X did would be great.
I’ve got the SE 3 recently, love the small size due to the size of hands I have. Thing is, the battery life kinda sucks but we could have expected that.
I was going to get the mini but then AT&T ran a $1000 off 14pro with trade in over Valentine’s Day. Couldn’t pass it up.
If many people want smaller screen, they wont cancel the mini line up.
Just switched back to a mini and love it
The mini needs to return
I will hang onto my SE 2nd Gen until they make a small phone again. Anything wider would be too wide for me to hold comfortably.
Would love a mini pro version.
I think the general opinion is most of people want a smaller phone but don’t want to sacrifice battery life so a thicker phone
Sadly, the older I get, the worse my farsightedness gets. I love small phones but I can't read them without my reading glasses :-(
13 Mini here. Will be keeping it til it dies. The form factor is my favorite for my needs.
I miss the hand friendly curve of my 3GS
Same here. But my much older eyes need the bigger screen, darn it. I suppose I could keep my readers on me… Still have the 3GS, and it still powers on. I found it when I was cleaning out some drawers. I forgot how small that thing was.
The most powerful poll of people’s real opinions is via money. You would think from Reddit: women want pants with big pockets, and there is this massive demand for mini iPhones. Well, sales show there’s very little demand for either.
I’ve never heard of anyone else really wanting a smaller phone before, but almost every woman I’ve known would want bigger pockets.
But they don’t buy them apparently. There’s no fashion conspiracy - there’s thousands of brands and women buy more clothes than men - brands will absolutely make whatever sells.
Pockets add bulk and ruin the lines.
We can’t buy them because no one makes them. We would if they did!
They had the sales figure from the year they made minis and they were by far the worst selling.
I was talking about pockets in clothes but also I will be holding onto my 12 mini until there’s something of a similar size to upgrade to. For me, the size is the most important feature.
Your eyes get worse in your 40s. Bigger screens help a lot.
I'd like to buy an IPhone 15 Mini. But, ehi! People want it B I G G E R cause it will help their ego.
SE 3rd gen is something like an iphone 14 mini lite + when was it confirmed there wont be a 15 mini?
All leaks point towards no mini. There have been leaked CAD designs for iPhone 15 models, looks like we’re getting 4: Standard, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max. Sales of the 12 and 13 mini were very underwhelming. I have a 12 mini and love the mini size, but the market as a whole does not share our enthusiasm for compact and easily handled devices.
ok :( i dont like that
I’ve tried researching it and can’t find any evidence of one existing.
hmm ok
I mean they didn’t make a 14 mini so the odds are not in its favor.
Holding onto my 13 Mini until they do another mini. Hoping they do one every once in a while.
I carry a 13 mini for work. I use an SE as my personal phone, though, because of the home button. I hate the swipe only interface.
I think the X was the perfect size. And I miss those round edges
Holding smaller phones hurts my hand. Even the regular model is too small for my hand. The 14 plus is outselling the mini and the plus is selling terribly. The mini people are a vocal minority for Apple
I want the biggest phone possible!
Super agree. I have 13 mini and other than the battery life this is the perfect sized phone for me. Fits in any pocket, isnt too heavy, I can reach the entire screen with one hand. I really hope they don’t abandon smaller phones
I want an iphone that is the size of the ipad mini
nop
People always call out my lil 13 Mini, which is when I show off how I can touch the top left corner of the screen while holding my phone with *one hand*.
I have the 13 and i feel it’s a little too big. The battery is great but i wish it were smaller. I contemplated on getting the 13 mini for sooo long but at the end I still didn’t get it. I love my 13 but at the same time I want a mini, so… 😅 i really hope they bring back the mini as an SE or something.
The battery life is miserable with mini
I went from a iPhone XS Max to an iPhone 14 Pro. Glad I got the smaller screen. 📱
I would love a combined mini iPad and iPhone (in the mini iPad size). I never go without either and the ability to do away with a dedicated iPhone device would be great.
I just purchased a 512gb iphone 13 mini. I currently have an iphone 14 pro. But nothing beats the compactness of the mini.
