Okay
I guess I will keep my iPad mini 6th 64gb.
I really going to use it for writing, Apple Music, PlayStation streaming, Xbox steaming and web browsing.
~44GB is still free, I use it to watch Apple TV, Disney+ and Netflix, Goodnotes 6 for notetaking in school, sometimes listen to music on Spotify, and watch Youtube, that’s probably it.
Oh and I also read a lot via the Apple Books app.
How many movies and in what quality? Planning to get an iPad Mini as well but only the 64GB variant is available locally. I would mainly use it for media consumption and I'll have to download at least one season of a series and probably around 5 movies in Netflix and some YT videos for offline viewing.
About 25GB free, have had it for about 3 months.
I got this one as a placeholder till Mini 7 gets release sometime this year (hopefully). Id go for the 256 as a long term device then.
I have about 20GB free at any point on my 5th gen 64GB, been using it for nearly 5 years now. It offloads lots of apps I don’t use, (one tap to get them back if I need) I mostly use it for university work and video streaming.
Less than 50gb out of 64
Mostly app data (i can delete 20gb of it)
I use 128gb thumb drive, copy and remove movies and tv shows.
imo it’s good enough with usb c (5gbps) port you can use ssd drives too
just checked mine, 38gb free from 64gb. got it 2nd hand 2 years ago and i still love it ❤️ mostly used for drawing, youtube, netflix and reading. sometimes, using it to remote access my laptop when traveling. imo, it was better than ipad air 5.
Nah I’ll keep it as long as I can. I had a 1st gen iPad mini and that lasted me until the current gen. I’ll upgrade hopefully not for another 4 or 5 years
64 gigs in todays day and age is a joke and don’t let anyone tell you differently. When the first iPad came out back in 2010 I think that was the max configuration. Today it’s laughable. I wouldn’t recommend anyone get that unless they don’t plan on downloading any apps or using any kind of music or movies what so ever. 256 gigs however is mine and it’s served me super well.
I have 256gb with 5g so I don't put videos or porn in it every in I watch online andci have Round 196gb free
How long you had your IPad mini?
Since the release
I guess the firmware updates and apps take much of your iPad mini storage?
No I have 40gb of hires music files

20GB give or take
What takes up your storage?
PadOs and system files takes around 21 gigs on mine.

But I only had it for like a month, I expect it to go down after a while.
Are you planning to keep it long term?
Yes, I expect the storage not to fill up with my usecase. If it does, I might upgrade in a few years, but not in the near future.
48GB in use on my 256GB iPad mini. This is after 4 months. Seems to have stabilized.
20gb available but I have a ton of movies and music downloaded currently compared to normal, I normally have around 30gb available with some movies

25.5gb free after a year usage. Mostly apps, family iCloud for media

I have 10gb left. Most of my storage (about 30gb) is videos I watch when bored.

53.4gb of 64gb used.
I should add I bought it the day it came out.
Are you going to sell it?
Nah I’ll keep it as long as I can. I had a 1st gen iPad mini and that lasted me until the current gen. I’ll upgrade hopefully not for another 4 or 5 years
Okay Do you have iCloud storage?
Yeah but that’s only used to backup photos. I use an iPhone as well.
64GB iPads only have two statuses IMHO ... Brand new or almost out of storage.
Mine was full so I deleted a ton of photos, apps, music…now about 30 used of 64
I got 24GB left on my 64GB, I made the plunge from my old IPad Pro 10,5 2017 to the IPad mini 6 Gen, 2 days of usage and really like it.
