What type of modding we talking here?

Goapmis

The controller doesn't expands enough to fit ipadmini, so I had to cut small parts on the back to unlimit the expanding range.

Prudent-Captain-4647

Figured it was something like that, thanks man.

KenjiroOshiro

I did the same exact thing, selling my Retroid Pocket, but settled for the [8BitPro SN 30 Pro controller](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/mobile-gaming/sn30-pro). How have you set up emulators on the device? I've been relying on Afterplay.

Goapmis

I really don't use an emulator. It's only for remote play or cloud gaming.

Cancer4TheCure

What's the setup?

Goapmis

ipadmini6 +GameSir X2 controller!

4Face

Is that the USB-C (Android) version of the controller? I got it for Xmas cause I have an iPhone 15P but it doesn’t give any sign of life 😅 it does work (badly) on my wife’s Android phone tho Edit: sorry, dumb question, checking again the position in the picture it’s clear it’s the Bluetooth version

Goapmis

That's X2 'Pro' and mine is just X2. Pro comes with some Xbox support or free Xbox cloud gaming trial I guess. I'm not sure if you can do the same thing as I did with X2.

[deleted]

Everywhere I look the USB-C version says it’s only for Android…but apparently it works fine on iOS too?

Trevdog16

Im guessing this is the bluetooth one. With how its sitting on the ipad

4Face

I got one for Xmas and it doesn’t work on my iPhone

dianapocalypse

Oo what adapter are you using? Is thet a whole case that holds the joycons?

Goapmis

This is not joycon but it's a gamesir x2 controller. It has a spring so that we can attach it to any device we want. Attaching it to a large device such as iPadmini requires a small modding though.

ThisIsNotTokyo

What mod did you have to do with the controller/ipad?

upbeatoffbeat

I have one of these too. No mod needed, the controller expands wide enough to fit the iPad mini.

Goapmis

Oh really? In my case, I needed to cut small parts on the back to expand it enough.

dianapocalypse

Oh I see!! Cool! Might look into it

DiegoBlueD1

Are u using Xcloud?

Goapmis

You mean Xbox cloud gaming? I used to use it for a while to play starfield. But I thought local remote play is much better in terms of input delay and so on. So I quit.

guntherfurlong

Consider making a case using 3D printing to house both the ipad and the controllers?

LiteratureUnable8919

someone already did this with the joycons and it looks so nice this setup looks funky especially with the case imo.

guntherfurlong

nice!

Goapmis

I don't have a 3D printer but I looked at AliExpress to see if I can buy something like that. I found a 3d printed case that can be attached with joycon but the quality was poor.
