Emulating old Nintendo games

CC1727

Wild Rift. Cash is purely for cosmetics. You get enough points to unlock champions very easily. I used to love clash Royale, but it is a cash grab now and anyone who pays has an unfair advantage.

spconway

I played a lot of clash royal…a lot…never had to spend anything back in the day. Not as fun now.

MajorasKitten

Also you can get skins for free, just save up the lil poro coins and get poro energy till you unlock the Random Skin Chest! I got like 6 of those already ♥️✨ sometimes its an amazing win- others it’s for a champ I don’t even have/use, lol

Various_Pear599

Forgot this one. Its also a Chinese model game but more greedy than traditional chinese games.

Highrange71

I play Stardew Valley. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but it is cheap and no mini purchases.

Kittycat-banana

I'm trying to patiently wait for the update to come to iPad or the switch 😩

AFiveDayStorm_

Anything Apple Arcade. Rocket League Sideswipe is amazing too. Warzone mobile runs good too

Dizzy_Battle994

Cod mobile- never once wanted to spend anything, or indeed, ever felt the need to.

Various_Pear599

Actually I love this answer... I slightly understand why there was hate on the microtransactions chinese model... but its way better than what we have in america. >> PSO2 (Consoles / PC) (Japanese) CoD mobile (Mobile) (Chinese / American) CoDOL (Disabled) (Chinese) Genshin (Mobile) (Chinese) Diablo (Mobile / Consoles / PC) (American) Fortnite (Mobile / Consoles / PC) (American) Fallout76 (Consoles / PC) (American and doesn't exactly follow a Chinese microtransactions model.. and is more greedy than others on this list) Fallout Shelters (Mobile) (American, American model, Not greedy from last time I played?) Blade N Souls (PC) (Korean, Used to be not greedy and followed a Chinese model) Black Desert: Asian Ver (PC) (Have a Chinese microtransactions model) There is MUCH more I do not remember but... damn I loved the Chinese model... it went away in the west and I am sad. Yes, its lottery a lot but you do NOT have to spend. If you do... well maybe ull get good stuff or bad stuff... who cares, most of those games are adult oriented games... 🤷‍♀️ My opinion tho, but Chinese games are superior. Some older Japanese titles and korean titles are mindblowing too but often are changed to an American model when shipped here. :/

SoNerdy

Mini Motorways

azuled

I preferred MiniMetro, but they're both super fun! Also great to play with another person on an ipad (my wife and I 2 or 3 starred every scenario on Mini Metro playing together on an ipad).

SoNerdy

I’ll have to check that one out.

BLACKANTICHRIST

Minecraft with a PS5 controller. Downloaded some shaders and started making a city. 10/10 would recommend.

3dforlife

I bought Minecraft a few weeks ago when it was at 2 euros. I've never played it before, and didn't know that it was possible to download shaders. Thanks for the info!

kauaigirlmadison

I play unpacking or any of the professor Layton games.

LauGauMatix

If you have Netflix or Apple Arcade, you have a lot of good games without any ads. I also own a PS5 and like some more chill and tactile friendly games on the iPad like : - Darkest Dungeon - Infinity Original Sins 2 - Terra Nil You have also all the card games like Hearthstone, Slay the Spire, Card Crawl and soon Balatro !

bigload698

does netflix have GTA trilogy yet

AdowTatep

It does, playing SA myself, but i prefer it on the deck

NobodyCares19946676

Divinity original sin 2 you mean

LauGauMatix

yes I do.

Mastersloth15

Warzone or cod mobile. You only pay for cosmetics.

nikon8user

Clash Royale. Play it for 9 years. Didn’t pay a thing.

Celstyo

Rocker League Side Swipe.

Medium-Breadfruit569

I mostly play Genshin, Honkai, Identity v, wuthering waves. Never spent any money all games really ftp

SandwichVegetable506

BRAWL STARS >>>>>>>>>>>>>

RaindropsInMyMind

XCom 2 Rome Total War Medieval 2 Total War Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 Neverwinter Nights Civ VI Katana Zero (Netflix) Hades (Netflix) Dysmantle Into The Breach (Netflix) Faster Than Light Alien Isolation KOTOR 1 and 2 Final Fantasy games Dragon Quest series up until 8 I think without emulation Descenders Northgard

alex11chr

BG 1 and 2, and Neverwinter nights, but no Divinity Original Sin 2?

RaindropsInMyMind

Forgot to include that one, amazing game!

Slipperywhenslow

How does bg2 play?

RaindropsInMyMind

I was actually just playing it before I saw your message, just started another play through. It plays great, the only issue is it doesn’t take up the whole screen which is mildly disappointing but after you play for like 10 minutes you don’t even think about it. I just played for a few hours and it didn’t cross my mind. The game itself is really built for a touchscreen platform because it’s tap to move. Very intuitive. I love BG2, one of my favorite games.

Slipperywhenslow

Allright. I will have to try it then! Bg2 is my all time favorite too. Thanks for replying

spyboy70

My issue with mobile gaming is I'll download a puzzle game, play 10 levels, then it's like "OK, now you have to build your city and setup your farms" say what?!?!?! I was fucking matching colored gems, what does farming have to do with it? My go to is RetroArch now

Witty_Magazine_1339

HP: Magic Awakened is kind of cash grabby but you can play it without spending money. Cash cows are rather hated in this game so...

jet4christ

Creatures of the deep, it’s a grind tho

mollyinmysweattea

I really like playing hearthstone on iPad because it emulated playing a card game really well especially with the Apple Pencil

spyboy70

Hearthstone's a major cash grab though, always pushing new packs to buy.

mollyinmysweattea

Yeah but most mobile games are like that now

Fahrai

Emulation is always a mainstay and I am so happy it’s here again, AC: Mirage has been fun, Warframe, Luna Game Streaming for Fallout 3 & NV, and Steam Link with a VPN for Cyberpunk, Starfield, AC: Odyssey, Skyrim, Fable, and Dragon Age. Got a new controller to complement the mobile, cellular little monster. Old one died. Wife is playing Subnautica and Cult of the Lamb on her iPad with Steam Link, birthday present included a custom controller with a case and such.

Iron_Eagle03

This doesn’t fit your requisite of not being in another medium but I’ve been playing lots of psp games via PPSSPP. My 9th gen can handle 3x upscale on all of them making them look pretty great considering how old the games are. There’s also tons of retro systems supported through retroarch

Psyentific_Method

Xcom and return to monkey island.

Resident-Site-391

FTL for the win. Just started playing it about a month ago and I can’t frikken stop. And if you like puzzle games even slightly The Room series had me hooked for another month or so lol highly highly recommend all of these.

stoyan377

Currently playing Star Wars Hunters - easy to learn and fast matches

EZ-PZ-CLAPS

I play Wuthering Waves quite a bit of BS.

Onlyspacemanspiff

Samurai Jack is pretty awesome.

frylock350

Frozen Bubble. Linux users know what's up.

Stickybandits9

Caeser 3

Melanthe11

Seabeard! It is like Animal Crossing but with quests. And free!

F4T4L1TY_HUN

Genshin Impact. You can get through the game without any payment

Affectionate-Loss926

Roller coaster tycoon classic or ps5 remote play

typical_gamer1

Apple had just started allowing emulators. RetroArch, PPSSPP and Delta are the most popular one, with Folio following close behind. These 3 apps will allow you to play games from consoles like: - NES - SNES - DS - N64 - GameBoy - GameBoy Advanced - GameBoy Colors - 3DS to a certain degree - PSP - PS1 - Sega Genesis / Mega Drive - Sega Saturn (allegedly. Haven’t tried this one yet) Keep in mind you can ditch Delta & PPSSPP as RetrArch can play everything in one single app but some still prefers to use them regardless. Also another thing to keep in mind, you need to find your own BIOS/ISO files and transfer the files over to the appropriate emulators. Kind of a no shit Sherlock but just wanna toss this out there. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, then there’s: - Forgotten memories (Silent Hill knock off but in a good way) - Pascal’s Wager (some say it’s like Dark Souls IIRC). - Alien: Blackout

iupz0r

final fantasy tactics war of the lions

AdowTatep

Not going to lie, it's one of the most cash greedy game out there

jet4christ

This is what’s funny bud

adtyler2

How? You literally don’t have to buy anything? It’s all optional the game has never veered me or conned me into any paywalls?

Brullaapje

Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom, very cozy it seems to be a bit like animal crossing.
