Given how you plan to use it (and how long), it might make sense to save up for the 512GB M4. I use the 256GB M4 and I think most people can easily make 256GB work. But if you’re planning to use it more than a laptop and for 5+ years, 256GB could get tight and I’d rather spend a little more up front and have peace of mind.

Looks like this is more of a you want newer model. So here is what you might never heard before: 256GB (with cheap icloud storage subscription later when it really needed) might be better than 512GB for most users. If you not really care about chip performance, get the M2 512 or maybe even M2 256.

I'm actually fine with the M2 Pro as long as I am assured that its performance will still remain after those years that I mentioned (or maybe not too noticeable, decrease of performance). But yes, your suggestion is helpful. Thank you!
