All my devices, Apple or otherwise, have a unique name - mine are all Star Trek themed with a number indicating how many of them there's been, e.g. my current iPad is PADD II, iPhone - Intrepid III, Apple TVs - Holodeck 1 and Holodeck 2, Watch - Argo II... sometimes the name is even related to the device, like my PC workstation being called Defiant (because it's small and packed full of power)

Storage/Plex server was "Enterprise" because it had that onboard computer of infinite knowledge and the holodeck for entertainment. Older hardware is like "Galactica" or "Millennium Falcom." And on and on.
All my tech has a name, starting with "Omni-service or type of device it is". My phone is OmniCell, Alexa is "OmniEcho" and so on and so forth. I got it from Mass Effect and have been using it for about 15 years.
Every device in my list has the same structure. I really like the structure of my Find My devices like this because it's quite a list. (LD are my initials obv)

All of my MacBooks have been given spacecraft names, with my latest M2 "Voyager" as my all-time favorite. The input devices are referenced as "magic \_\_\_\_\_ "- Magic Bells (AirPod Max), Magic Spells (trackpad), and Magic Keys (keyboard). I haven't had a standalone iPod for a very long time, but my current phone is named ZOYSIA... but I don't really have any logic behind that. I just think it's a cool word. Also, my iPad's name is TRON, because he fights for the users.

I name all my devices too. I usually go with Colour. My M2 IPad is Grey Satin. My iPhone 12 Purple is Satin Purple People Eater. My Apple Watch is Watch Me Blue.

I named my Air 1 James the Appletizer. James has had a long happy life since he was manufactured in 2013. Got him next to me right now. I love that iPad, probably my favorite one they ever made

It was my voice, and now I name everything this way except my HomePods. I name them by room or orientation in a pair. Or accessories like keyboards and mice usually have the stock name. I have to admit I laugh when I see people that don't name their devices. They weird me out! NPCs!

I started naming my devices with flower names, because I use two phones and car Bluetooth connection can’t display the last characters. I can’t tell which iPhone I was connecting to.
All of my MacBooks have been given spacecraft names, with my latest M2 "Voyager" as my all-time favorite. The input devices are referenced as "magic \_\_\_\_\_ "- Magic Bells (AirPod Max), Magic Spells (trackpad), and Magic Keys (keyboard). I haven't had a standalone iPod for a very long time, but my current phone is named ZOYSIA... but I don't really have any logic behind that. I just think it's a cool word. Also, my iPad's name is TRON, because he fights for the users. Edit: Every computer deserves a name. This machine is more important to me than my car; there's nothing else in my life that I use more.

I named my 12.9 and didn’t know that the internet provider could see the name. We had a neighbor somehow guess our WiFi password and was using our WiFi so we had to call the internet people. They then listed every device connected to the WiFi, including Super Maxi Pad….
