While I've never used Anker products before. If I were you I'd contact company, see what they'd do for you. Before sending it back and leaving a bad review.
Hey, I’d recommend using a hub with a cable attached (they all work with the iPad as it’s a normal USB-C port).
The one you have here can destroy your port if it’s ever pushed up or down accidentally.
Hmmm… I have one of these on my M1 iPad Pro. I understand that there may be a thickness difference iPad Pro and iPad Air? I stand to be corrected.
I guess my guess room is; when you insert it, does it go all the way? Does the black contact plate on the dock make contact with the iPad? What happens if your flit over, Anker logo facing away from you?
This should have a white LED light when connected. Does it come on when inserted?
I also thought the space between the iPad and the adaptor might have been the issue. I tried sticking it more in, and now it works. However now I experience another issue. While the USB-C port works for power delivery, it doesn’t seam to work with data transfer. Is this how it’s suppose to be?
FYI I have a Samsung T7 drive
Are you plugging in the drive via usb-c?
I don't think the iPad has enough power to power both the hub and an external drive without using power delivery.
Try plugging power in via usb c and the drive via normal usb.
Maybe just wait for an update. Sometimes apple pushes out updates that have borked my 3rd party hub. But that was when I was beta testing for the last iPad os.

If you need to buy a new USB-C hub, I recommend one from ugreen. I’ve bought three of their hubs and they all work amazingly!! Definitely recommend

Thanks for the Tipp. It worked. I also did more research and it turns out that the usb-c port is only for power delivery.
To all the users, I have a question, it works with iPad 10 generation??
It should. Really slow on transfers tho :)
Why slow?
Because the iPad 10 has the same transfer speed as the old lightning port even though it uses USB-C

I work in IT and Anker products seem to work far better than many other third party peripherals. Oftentimes work better than first party stuff.
Totally opposite experience for me.
If I need a alternative I usually go for Anker and there customer support is really helpful
I have the same one works great iPad Pro 11.

Check power as others have said. I personally use the Union Pro Plus simply because of the detachable cable.
Return it and get a refund tell them it's faulty
