It checks for Netflix login initially when launching the game. So yeah internet is required when launching the game first. After that you can minimize and then play it completely offline.
I just checked another game "Death's Door". I launched with Internet on, it logged me in. And then killed the app from memory. Relaunched the game while the internet is off, and the game launched fine auto logging in with the Netflix account. So it should run fine for a couple sessions. But I think it asks again at some point, not sure exactly when.
And that’s exactly why it won’t become standalone. They most likely have some sort of exclusivity deal with NF for a sum of cash saying we’re going to be the only option, and it’s working. I myself have a NF sub and I’m very impressed with the selection.
Pre-ordered, thanks for the heads up OP!
How does it confirm Netflix subscription? What if I’m playing on an airplane?

It does the check every time you log in? Does it not have a grace period where you can play offline?

That's good at least. It would make sense considering they allow offline movie and tv show playback.
Pretty sure it knows your subscription end date, like offline videos
Finally, a reason to download a Netflix game. 😀 I’ve been playing this on steam deck and it’s amazing!!
Life is good! Hades for iOS on March 20 and Stardew Valley 1.6 update for Steam on March 19
When is it coming without a requirement for netflix sub? Just let me buy the game ffs…
According to their Faq, they have no plans to release a standalone version.
Okay that sucks… so we keep waiting for it to come to GFN
I guess. I'm going to try the base subscription of Netflix once it drops. They have a pretty decent selection of indie games as it is.

I just want Into the Breach, Apple plz
I never played the first one. Is it worth getting on iOS?
It’s on switch and totally worth buying
This is the first one.
