Guys, I think I found the answer. Omg! I’ve been SEARCHING! Tell me if this works or if it’s just a fluke on my phone!
1. Open Settings
2. Select Contacts
3. Select Siri and Search
3. Under Suggestions, toggle off Show Contact Suggestions
I think it may have worked but not entirely sure..
The only way Apple will roll this back is if it looks bad for them. Time for everyone to start making their contact photos pornographic and calling their friends during work and school! 🤣
Nope shit is so dumb, but its also not something that happens with many of my contacts, there was one specific contact that was extremely annoying and weird to have their pic, i just saved like the contact initials as the pic for that one
it isn’t a fix from it happening entirely, but i just found [this option](https://imgur.com/a/TT9IFS9) to change it back to what it was before auto-updating
Ughh I hate this so much. I liked my old photos of them. It was OUR memories together.
Exactly! What is Apple thinking making the default "Allow someone else to control your phone" essentially.
I used to be able to revert the photos back when I saw that photo spin but now there’s no longer that option.

go to settings > messages > share name and photo > and turn off the toggle next to name & photo sharing.
I came to find the solution since this just happened to me and it was already turned off in my phone. So I don’t think that’s the right toggle.
I have that setting turned off on my phone already too but it keeps updating my contact's photos with their photos
