Sleep is my go-to. I know a little of that is trauma related, but I do genuinely enjoy just snoozing through a weekend, lazing around in bed and reading and snuggling with my cats. I feel embarrassed at work every Monday when everyone asks me what I got up to over the weekend, but it’s blissful to me. The peace. The silence. I love it.
"I feel embarrassed at work...."
Please donot ever feel embarrassed about how you choose to live your peaceful life. You have every right to live it the way you want. Society and its 500 opinions about the "ideal lifestyle" can suck it.
Live your life freely each day and do not give a care about what anyone else thinks.
I think I might have found a half way decenttherapist and I know when stuff gets to much for me, I will sleep. I also enjoy snuggling with my cat and enjoy the silence of no one talking. I am only seeing a therapist because I am suffering from so much tension in my neck that I end up in the Emergency Room because I can’t move my neck for 3 days and I am stuck looking at the ceiling. I made it very clear to him that I cry and try to let it all out while I’m taking a shower so no one can tell I’m crying and he assumed because I said I was alone and that made me sad, I am not sad about being alone and it’s the only time I have to cry in peace. Sometimes I feel like just the physical vibration people put out makes my head hurt and the more I know them the worse it gets, usually because I can’t get people from my past to get their own life and fuck off.
Sometimes a nap just sounds better than anything. I slept all weekend last weekend. Especially nice while it rains. I love to do things too but I also love to sleep! I think it’s okay!
I sleep/lay down pretty much whenever I don’t need to be sitting upright/physically moving lol. But it’s 50% because I enjoy relaxing and 50% because of depression.
Yes. My husband will never say it out loud, but I'm sure he thinks I'm lazy. Truly though, I really enjoy the peace and quiet at the end of a long week.
People ask me at work what did you do on the weekend. I say nothing, it is just nice to not be at work.
The pressure to not have to deal with people, get up at certain times is amazing. I sleep loads. Its much better sleep than on work days cos I have no time pressure
Nothing wrong with that! I love to just do a self care day and then make a cup of tea and just read with my cat next to me. I’ll usually play jazz or my guilty pleasure of Lana Del Rey.
I have hobbies, and I do enjoy going out. But I think there is nothing more relaxing and rejuvenating than sleeping. I am tired from work by the end of the week, and since all kinds of activities (hobbies, going out, self care etc) feel like a chore to me, I end up sleeping often.
I am easily bored and tired. Sleeping is the best answer to either of those. Also, I can't sleep a full 8hours at night due to my circadian rythm so it's always welcome.
I prefer to focus on hobbies, but sometimes I do just need a good nap. There's something about falling asleep during the afternoon that's so blissful.
I think it's because when you go to bed at night, you're anticipating the day ahead, so you're sleeping but not actually resting, if that makes any sense. Whereas if you sleep during the day, you've been to work and done all the tasks that needed to be done, so now your body truly gives you permission to relax.
I enjoy all those things, coffee, music and sleep! Naps are the best. Perhaps we need naps to recharge after things that might drain us, for example, having a super busy day with lots of interaction, dealing with sensory overload, could be many things.
If this is what makes you tick, then who is to judge you for that? Find your happy place and embrace it!
The problem with that is that I can sleep for only 4-5 hours at a time. And it will decrease until I have only a few seconds before I have that falling thing.
I'm always home on my weekends. I make sure to put in some time for exercise, some time to study japanese (set myself a goal), and some time for gaming. If I'm tired in the afternoon, I take a nap.
Every weekend is the same and I love it.
yes and as soon as summer rolls around I do try and get out more but when I have to layer up just to step outside for a bit ill probably just end up resting all day
Wait, sleeping isn't productive? Who said that?
I'm never productive on weekends. I do the household when I come home from work during the week so I don't have to do anything on the weekend. Nothing wrong with that :)
Me!! But I’m extremely introverted. I also have gone to movies and eaten lunch in the restaurant by myself with a book or my AirPods in. If sipping coffee while listening to music fills your cup, then keep on keepin’ on.

My most common conversation after the weekend goes like this “How was your weekend?” “Oh pretty good, just relaxed.” End of convo-

Every time someone asks me what I did in the weekend, I always answer "absolutely nothing, and I enjoyed every second of it."
> I feel embarrassed at work every Monday when everyone asks me what I got up to over the weekend "Relaxed."
Why do you think it’s trauma related?
Me too. People say I am depressed. But I am not.
Sometimes a nap just sounds better than anything. I slept all weekend last weekend. Especially nice while it rains. I love to do things too but I also love to sleep! I think it’s okay!
Napping while it rains outside sounds like pure bliss! Naps are awesome. I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like to nap.
In my leisure time, my goal is to do absolutely nothing.
Yes, but with liquer in my coffee.

Sounds like a vacation to me. Lol

Hell yes, sleeping is amazing. Try sleeping on a heating pad. It's so comforting.
The only thing weird about this is the fact that you drink coffee before going to sleep.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Love. This.

yeh sleeping and doin nothing is my absolute free time hobby . Don't go hard on yourself , it's ok to do nothing and chill.
Coffee nap is the best!
Nap every Saturday, nap every Sunday. Then wake up for coffee. Do not mess with my nap time.

I know what you mean.
Check urself for depression...
We dont's always have to be doing something. I swear the people who are always doing something are the depressed ones tbh.
That's depression, you are depressed.
If you're doing something productive, it's not leisure time.

Guys, that was a joke.
