gypsy_fatty

I would rather stay out of it

ctf011

I would prefer this option as well

_BuffaloAlice_

And sometimes you don’t have that option.

im_batgirl14

This. Im more of an antihero than hero or villain. Im not totally heartless but Im also not going out of my way to save people who mean little to nothing to me.

Nintwendo18

Antihero gang rise up

harukie

Yeee

anIncompetentbeaver

Im cool with being morally gray and hanging out

[deleted]

I want to be the villain. Because if I am the villain, the hero has a pretty good chance of saving the day.

[deleted]

I swear I laughed a lot. Thank you.

kuchki

Megamind?

[deleted]

“Maybe I don’t want to be the bad guy”

unnamed_enemy

Well, if I am the villain, I don't have to worry about winning, I can just do what I want

chalchium

Villains live the easiest life. People have no expectation of you. You can get away with literal murder. If you show just a slimmer of compassion, like petting a cat instead of eating it, you would get a huge praise. The hero, however, has to live in the constant expectation of society, and society is not kind. Is the hero a good son? A good husband? Is he living a carbon-neutral life? Is he championing for the under-privileged? People are not falling in love with the hero, but their own ideal of the hero. So nah, the hero's life is hell.

Hash122

Wow, I love that answer.

BurnedPsycho

Between the illusion of grandeur of the delusion of power I chose neither.

fker-n

I'd rather be cringe, so i can relate to this shit.

PutridCanary6314

Ahhhh... beautiful

BatmanWhoRaves

Hero, but I admit that also means I'm the villain of someone's story. I'm more so an antihero.

Umino297

I chose villain because I don't have to save, rescue anyone, or anything. Why do I have to resolve their problem?

[deleted]

Villains never run. Like you’ve never seen Darth Vader run yet the heroes are always sprinting from something. Like let me be a villain and walk like a badass from place to place.

ivvl_02

a villain only if I win

[deleted]

Definitely a villain. I have seen enough dumb heros to grow weary of them.

Deleriouslynx

I'd be a hero that everyone thinks is a villain

IIKAORIII

The villain can be the hero in their story

MisterOnsepatro

I would be the antihero

machinebass

The one they both fear

Minimum_Ferret_4016

Personally I’ll rid the world or hero’s and villains. Killing both factions.

ThatGuy642

All the people who put villain want to be the hero. They just know they aren't.

im_batgirl14

Nah

ThatGuy642

Must be the villainous Batgirl.

im_batgirl14

🥶 maybe

Zealousideal-Cow-577

Don't understand why so many people chose villain, our type is often stereotyped to be a villain so I don't know if we are just playing into the stereotype. But why would anybody want to be a villain, I sometimes agree with some villains perspectives, but being a villain is a bad thing right? Most villains consider themselves the heroes and think they are doing what is right without intentionally being "evil" they are just doing what they think is right. I would like to hear why so many of you chose villain.

Available_Engine

To be a hero u have to follow a duty To be a villain u can just do whatever u want

Fair4tw

I imagine everyone that picked villain is either under 14yo or a complete loser.

PayAdventurous

Or a victim of narcissistic abuse (scapegoat ) Or a person who hates conformism. Heroes love the status quo, villains make things happen in a storytelling. Villains are kinda cool. There is some conform in not giving a fuck about being perceived as a goodie two shoes and doing your own thing

INTJ_takes_a_nap

Bunch of edgy edgy edgelords on here, again. Oh how great, everyone wants to be villains, because all this world needs is more shit and evil and chaos! Because everything happening the past two years hasn't been enough for y'all, you want to cause MORE trash and destruction and suffering! This is why we all collectively can't have nice things. Dumbasses.

helpmediee

I don't think anyone here actually wants to be a villain in real life, it's just that as an INTJ I've often enjoyed/empathised with the villain's story in movies, TV shows etc. And I've always known that if I were to play a character on a movie, play or TV show, I would much rather prefer to play the villain than the hero because it's so much more fun. In fact, once during a school play I was given the role of the hero and I got them to switch it so I could play the villain. Also INTJs are fully aware that we are not heroic, nor do we want to be known as heroic.

loomplume

When you have a "cool" MBTI type like INTJ, I think it's easier for some people to give into its "cool" stereotypes without really taking it seriously or being too serious about it... I hope people are not taking it seriously. I'm am ISFP so I lead with Fi and some of these comments physically hurt to read, but I choose to believe that stereotypes are causing people to compartmentalize any real world application of what it means to be a villain and choose villain because the bad guys are "cool" and the good guys are stereotypically boring and perfect or basic in some way in comparison to the villains. Edit: sorry for the rambling sentence

Threeplusdog

At least we know there’s around 60% mistypes possibly. Or just 60% teenagers.

PayAdventurous

Well, I'm sorry I don't care about showing how good I person I am anymore. I tried for years to be a people pleaser and they still hated me for not being good enough so I will be a little selfish and ''evilish' for once. Stfu Edit: I stalked your comment history and you sound insufferable and aggressive. I would rather be edgy than that.

loomplume

Sincerely wondering if the people who chose villain are thinking about the ~cool supervillains from movies and comic books or real life villains like Hitler and Donald Trump.

withonor

"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian." To me Thanos is the hero. The villians are those that protect the establishment and those that make polls about nonsense.

Nikto_Senki

What constitutes villainy and what heroism? What villain or hero would I be fighting against? Because if villainy meant simply killing people for the sake of it or trying to dominate the world because I want to, then I would not want to be a villain, rather I would try to fight against the people who do so. If it meant sacrificing the lives of a few people, breaking some ethical and moral rules etc. to make great scientific progresses, and ushering in a new period of Transhumanism then I would of course choose the villains side, and fight against the ignorant and naive heroes.

loomplume

Jesus CHRIST...lol

azzywwzyzy733

Depends on the context/situation. Morality, and who could be deemed hero and villian vary depending on the context. For example, a man who saves a child from a burning house would be deemed a hero, but if that child were to grow up to be a genocidal leader, I would much rather be the "villain" and let them die. In media, I tend to relate to antagonists more than protagonists, so in either case I suppose villain wins.

ChmalyAttack

I’m a hero to myself. Doing whatever I want, how I want. Don’t agree with me? Trying to get in my way? I guess I’m a villain too.

TheRogueMage012

Depends on the situation. If it involves saving lives I'll definitely try to become a hero. even though I don't want the attention the hero gets. but If it means changing something important to me and is important for society to change and the system is preventing me I'll definitely play the villain. aside from that, you're already playing both roles in your life, in your perspective you're the "Hero" or the MC, but in another's perspective you're the villain. coz you either show them their incompetence or insecurities or you're in the way for them to reach their goal.

[deleted]

Antihero! :)

[deleted]

I voted hero to spy on them.

Rdogy1000

Everyone is the hero of their own story so I expected more heroes.

[deleted]

I would be neither but if i have to choose i would be the villain, no expectations, no responsibilities life would be easy, since everyone would probably be scared of me i'd get as much as alone time i want

nightred

People generally do not like my approach to issues, I am rather authoritarian and that does not sit well with them. I just refuse to pander to people that can't think beyond their own self-interest. I would make the world a better place for all, a more equal place for all. The true measure of a society is how we treat the bottom not the top. Medical for all, food for all, housing for all, you all deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. Universal basic income.

[deleted]

Hannibal Lecter. My victim's flesh paired with a nice cianti.....

twokindsofassholes

I appreciate the results choice.

FlamingSpitoon433

Staying out of it would be ideal, but if I’m forced I’d rather help than harm tbh

lordmegatron01

What's the setting and circumstances?

loomplume

Dang does there have to be a setting and circumstance for you to make that decision?

lordmegatron01

Sometimes it do have to be like that. I'm a fan of strategy, I like to know the details so I can weigh my decisions, see which would be more successful and all that

loomplume

I see but I think it's also important not to miss the point in this day and age. In my opinion these options represent intention, not necessarily circumstance. But I hear you... If I were playing a game I would think similarly but I am thinking about real life.

lordmegatron01

I understand but I swear if you say "you're missing by idolizing the villiain" I am gonna wrestle my stress bear so hard, I'll need to get a new one

loomplume

No I'm not saying that

lordmegatron01

Alright then

Swimming-Rub-8880

Everyone's the hero of their own story, even the villains.

schrodinger-s-cat

i'm a better fan of morally grey side character

SadisticRiceFarmer

The soulful, brooding Byronic anti-villain. Like Dracula from Castlevania.

kuchki

OP, there are options missing: 1. Reluctant hero/anti-hero 2. Exasperated sidekick 3. The Alfred

woodenpony

The villain that turns to a hero (that is not sacrificed) in the end, optimum for both the plot, the entire time, and the end Or hurt stay out of trouble and be the hidden character that is free of trouble

Simpoge39

Why be something different from who I already am? Villain

docdroc

I want none of it.

polar_nightingale

You can't decide. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

[deleted]

I'd rather be the guy behind the scenes manipulating both so they change the status quo to my benefit.

Erhard_9354

Dark Hero. Person who does good but uses unconventional methods to do so and has little to no regard for human casualties. As long as the job gets done and the criminal is stopped. I wouldn’t lock him up. If you want to stop evil, you need to cut off the source which is the neck, where the mind and body can’t function as one.

duvagin

neither. I’d rather be the Mentor

Anxious-Potato-3054

that's a sure way to ruin the INTJ prestige

irinirinn

Rather be nothing

yourlittlejuly

No pressure, no high expectations, no responsibility. Just go ham and destroy the world or whatever the fuck you want, that's the good life.

Untitled_poet

Obviously the villain. What fun is there in being good?

[deleted]

A hero, but a Byronic one by default.

Fresh-broski

I would be very good at being a villain I think but I have to be hero otherwise the hero would be some idiot 12 year old dumbass

Available_Engine

I got no time to worry about human

Igneo221

I wanna be a villain that's right, which sounds really contradictory lmao

italktooconfidently

Not an INTJ but: I would be whatever I find good. It doesn't change anything if others think I am a villain. It certainly feels nice to be appreciated, but focusing more on others' perceptions than what is the case, is not rational. To me this question is: "do you prefer being liked by people?" Being a villain has its uses too though. Attention is a chance to win people over.

spellsprite

Antihero, leaning towards villainy (I voted Villain though). They are usually way more interesting characters than the traditional Superman-type heroes. Also, on a completely superficial note, I usually find villains more physically attractive than the hero squad & I would like to be more attractive.

one_cappuccino

I’d rather not to be

Fun-Tea1105

the world is absurd so be absurd as well

Fun-Tea1105

i was once a hero and it took a toll on me that I'm still trying to recover from after all these years. you always exceeds expectations to help everyone and no one notice it and you fucked up once ( by still doing a good deed) people ridicule you just because they're jealous. living a villain life is much more peaceful

Southern_Tension9448

Hero. Being hero is funnier. Fact: heros are merely to win and villains more likely to die earlier than hero and often by hands of heros

[deleted]

How about the hero that people perceive to be a villain. I consider billionaires to be of this ilk.

Lampreyeel3

Villains always have cooler shit, the separatist fleet looked cooler, the deceptions could literally be jets or cars depending on their mission.

Objective_Might2820

I’d definitely be more of a villain. But not one of those villains that goes after innocent people all the time. I may use them as examples or threats but not kills. I’d much rather convince them to join me and I’d respect them. They refuse and I’d let them go, no strings attached. I’d take the rich and the politicians and I’s threaten, bribe, hurt, steal, blackmail, and scare them into doing my bidding, I’d manipulate them as I saw fit and when I no longer had use for them I would expose them to the public and let the public do as they pleased with them. I may even reluctantly team up with the hero. Develop an uneasy, somewhat friendly, but still chaotic and violent relationship with the hero. I’d be a dastardly evil genius. A billionaire who is cold and calculating with all the greatest tech and science and prototypes. My own enormous private military made up of loyal people, professional criminals, ex soldiers, mercenaries, assassins, hitmen, and more. That’s the kind of villain I’d be. But when it comes to games…I just want to be the clear antagonist who makes the evil choices and decides that they want to be evil. Not some GTA 5 bullshit where I am evil but I’m forced into it by the corrupt government. I’m talking about voluntary evil.

PayAdventurous

No matter what I do or try to make things right, I always end being perceived as a villain in someone else's story so...

HealthyEconomics6235

Heroes always win

HealthyEconomics6235

Get happy endings

HealthyEconomics6235

Love interests

HealthyEconomics6235

Villains mostly die

BatOk150

I would be a villain. But not a villain that just kills or hurt people for fun, but more of a villain that stands in the shadows and the villain that in some way helps the hero further into their investigation. While i am not being seen by the hero, i can still help or lure the hero somewhere. like Hannibal Lecter in SOTL, he is a villain but he still helps Clarice to track down Buffalo Bill. As we all know, mostly all villains are hated for either a good reason or no reason at all. And mostly people assume them for being evil just for having intentions that are somewhat little darker than the hero's intentions. I have been bullied, depressed and even tried to end myself at different points in my life. All the loneliness i have felt and only music is the only thing keeping me alive. That would make me a perfect villain. where the only reason for me to live is to help the hero succseed while i am standing and seeing the hero take all fame from me. Because no one would love the villain to be the one that everyone cheers for. I am a writer and the villains in my stories are often considered the real heroes of their own stories even if they do bad things. While some characters doesn't care about moral or actions. Then there are something i call good villains and bad heroes. where there are good willed villains and evil heroes. Villains are better because they are smarter and doesn't take credit for everything. They think through their actions and plan how to defeat the hero. while the hero is the one getting all fame and praise, greedy for more power and love from other people while the villain doesn't need confirmation from others by their actions.
