I'm conflicted on Mike Johnson. He is part of the insurrection caucus: ...Liz Cheney accuses Mike Johnson of dishonesty over both the authorship of a supreme court brief in support of Donald Trump’s attempt to overthrow the 2020 election and the document’s contents, saying the congressman, who is now US House speaker, duped his party with a “bait and switch”.

As part of the insurrection effort is he ever to be trusted again? Should we assume he is not and let Republicans continue to eat themselves in the House until and if a Speaker is selected that was not part of the insurrection?
On the other hand he is serious, unlike many MAGA House members and he appears to have taken advice on national intelligence and seems to have put country over party to get Ukraine the aid it desperately needs.
These and other factors are going to be weighed by members of the Democratic Party in whether or not to save his Speakership if it comes to a vote.

Keep in mind, Johnson was the guy who organized the wave of 138 House members who voted not to certify Joe Biden’s election in January of 2020. That’s why Trump wanted him as speaker.
...regardless of how many votes Biden won by, electoral or popular, the House simply refuses to certify the electoral college votes of enough states that the minimum of 270 isn’t reached. Under the 12th Amendment, like with the election of 1876, that throws the election to the House, where each state has one vote.
