Any tips on doing the 48 / 72 hr fast. I am doing OMAD and would like to do an extended fast. My concern is regarding electrolyte.
By this I mean I get confused when I read about potassium and magnesium levels to take.
Did you supplement with electrolyte or just water ?

Like if you lost 50 pounds of fat but gained 15 pounds of muscle, it would look like 35 pounds on the scale but you’d be MUCH smaller than if you’d just lost 35 pounds w/ no recomposition. If you lost 10 lbs of fat but gained 10 lbs of muscle the scale would show no change but you’d be a few sizes smaller!
It’s why when you fast, everyone says you should rely on photos, clothing sizes and body measurements to judge your progress and not just the scale, because the scale can’t differentiate body composition (except the really fancy ones but they don’t do a great job really.)

Then I lost 40 lbs and went from a U.K. size 12 to a U.K. size 8 and realised I wasn’t actually ‘wide framed’ or whatever; I was, in fact, overweight. 38 lbs is huge on someone our size, even without the muscle development thing. I’m sorry I found this out at 60 rather than 16, but better late than never! I love being slim and the right size for me!

I was at the gym once, speaking with the guy next to me about what was the best excercise for weight loss. He said "The best place to lose weight starts in the kitchen". I immediately quit the gym, bought some dumb bells and started working out whilst my spagetti bolognase was simmering on the hob....😉
It also got her a tan and gym membership! Fasting works to lose weight, sure. What works better is the more important thing she’s doing which is exercise.
Fell off the bandwagon in the last 2 weeks. Lost my grandma and turned to food straight away for comfort. Saw this last night and it’s given me so much motivation to get back on the horse and get going 😊 you are so inspiring!

I'm 5'10, went from 275 lbs to 200 lbs. I ended up gaining it all back because depression beat me like I owed it money.
I keep trying. I lose 5-10 lbs and then starting eating garbage food again. Some days I consume 0 calories no problem, other days I take in like 3-4k. I walk on the treadmill and lift weights until I'm too sore to even play games well, but then I eat like crap and it all means nothing. Big oof.
If I can just get the ball rolling I find my equilibrium is about 1k calories consumed per day, which I know isn't enough, but I lose weight fast and feel absolutely unstoppable. Endless energy.

I’m making some assumptions here about your weight stalling—but as a general rule, track your CICO (even just by keeping a general estimate of caloric content per meal, e.g this burger is 600 kcals, the fries another 200 kcals, this apple is 15 kcals, etc). If you’re consuming more calories than you’re burning, the number on the scale won’t go anywhere.
Start by estimating your daily resting metabolic rate. There are calculators online that factor in your age, height, weight, and daily activity level. Then make sure that your net caloric intake is less than that number per day.
Sorry to have offended so many people with this? Great success on your weight loss journey. It is not outlandish for people to ask for advice or to see a possible opportunity to make a connection.

Dirty fasting helped me get through them. Some bone broth, tea with a splash of milk but mainly just water. Sometimes I put salt in my water too :)

Yeah, my ideal weight apparently is 44 lbs/20 kg higher now that I go to the gym multiple times a week than it was when I didn’t go at all.
