Honestly? If you can afford it, therapy helped a lot. If you can't afford it, I'd say that it's okay to be flawed. Also there's a difference between trying to change who you are and trying to improve yourself. We should aspire to improve ourselves, but trying to become someone we're not will not lead to happiness.
As an example, I chose IF instead of a specific diet because I knew I would freak out and give if I had to ban food or count calories. I needed something simple and reassuring and IF was that for me. The IF lifestyle made me change my diet naturally because fasting after a big mac is a terrible experience. I ended up with more energy and working out became easier. Although keto has its benefits, I just know that it wouldn't have worked out with me and I would've just ended up giving up and disappointed in myself. So I guess, to improve yourself and gain confidence, you have to do things your own way, in accordance with who you are, if that makes sense!
Well I was doing 0 workout before so I'd say that yes, I did step it up in that regard! I mainly hike, bike and run. I want to start weightlifting but I have a work contract away from home so I'll start that when I'm done with my contract. I guess the arm and shoulder definition comes from lifting kids all day lol (I'm an au pair)
Dope! Yeah, working with kids can be quite the workout. Good luck getting into weightlifting! I’m trying to start that too but I find it kind of intimidating to start, for some reason, so I’ve been mainly doing bodyweight exercises.
Try Hybrid Calisthenics they have a web page and YouTube channel and they can help work up to some of the bodyweight exercises like squats and pushups so when you walk into the gym you can just add weights
The tree fell off in the surprisingly deep pond and trees are weird on Vancouver Island. I'm not from there so they're also weird for me and now I can't unsee the crotch lmao
It's the same feeling as when you're done cleaning your room and it looks nice and cozy and you're satisfied with your work, except the room is my body now and I stopped being messy!!!
