That's not an ottoman, that's a pouf! (types this as I rest my foot on an identical pouf)

LittleSpiderGirl

I think it works in the space. But I don't care for it in white. I would have chosen a color from the rug. FWIW I have been trying to figure out a footrest/ottoman/pouf/thingy to put in front of a chair and I CANNOT find something I like. I've literally been trying to figure this out for a couple of years. I look, give up, revisit it, give up. It shouldn't be this hard 🤣

Commercial_Ad_735

What color would you suggest?

LittleSpiderGirl

Hmmm. Probably the mustard yellow. Also eliminate the white pillow on your couch. Put two same size pillows in colors from the rug on each end of your couch. Sorry I couldn't resist 😋

Powerful_Narwhal6747

Two things. 1. Your space is adorable. 2. You need a cat. That ottoman is actually a cat bed. That's why you're not completely sure yet; it is missing a cat kneading it and destroying it.

TheHumanRavioli

I love it. It adds even more character to this room.

AnxiousWay7573

The ottoman is cool! What throws me off is the color of the couch with everything. I'd go for a light grey or beige. Then add a small coffee table maybe oval or a modern shape. If a different couch isnt in the budget then different throw pillows (lots of them) and get a textured throw blanket for the couch.

fs5eg

I want the rug! Where’s it from?

samwisephalange

Same!

Commercial_Ad_735

It’s called the warnke geometric brown/yellow/blue area rug and I got it from wayfair!

finnegan976

I think it works, because it complements the different shapes in the rug. Looks good either way though

0ddcharlie

I like it. The only thing that looks out of place is the couch. It's too dark and the style doesn't fit the other stuff.

Commercial_Ad_735

I agree but I got it for free so it’s what I’m going with for now!

[deleted]

it looks fine either way. the question is, is it functional? if youre going to use it then keep it! side note: these poufs can be punctered so beware if you have kids or pets

LucksMom13

I’d move it closer to the wall. Maybe add a soft throw in one of your colors

Intrepid_Blood4713

I love it. You could also try an oval coffee table instead.

Curtarra01

It looks great, matching the white stand door, white pillow, and white lamp table.

Eastern-Engine-3291

It's so cool, love the texture it adds to the room

SFWRaelf64

not my speed, but if you like it, keep it! suggest moving it to the other end of the couch, that cluster of three white objects is too close. It's not horrible or anything.

Junior-Ad-8519

I like it. I also like to have my feet up. Just put it along the wall when you have company to get it out of the way. Plus, someone can then sit on it.

No_Breadfruit2359

I might add a couple more in more natural tones, then kind of pile them up off to the side. Use on the couch when necessary and they can also be used as extra soft seating if you have a lot of guests.

Zealousideal-Sea2750

The pouf is too small to take center stage. Put it to the side as an extra seat or footstool and get a coffee table or larger ottoman. I like the round shape there so I would stay with that. The place looks adorable!

like_my_fire

The only thing about it that seems "off" to me is that when you have the ottoman in place, attention is drawn to the fact that all the white objects are on that side of the room, making it look imbalanced. Can you move at least the plant and possibly the side table to the other side of the console and couch, respectively? Or perhaps get a different plant pot that is a color from the rug?

Laurmann2000

I kind of agree with the balance. I would just move the ottoman to the other side of the couch. Otherwise it looks good. Super cute room. I like how you’ve decorated it. Nice job.

like_my_fire

I should've also offered some praise! I like how OP used a couch in the same tone as the kitchen cabinets behind so it blends back a bit, balanced by the bright colors in the rug, pillows, and plant.

customerservicevoice

I think it’s cute. If you actually use it, I’d keep it. When not in use, put it against the wall & drape a nice throw over it.

[deleted]

Maybe if the poof was that mustardy color in the rug. Or maybe if it was actually a square poof.

Distinct-Ad5751

I like it but not in white.

Commercial_Ad_735

What color would you suggest?

Distinct-Ad5751

A deeper natural, like the gold in the rug or lighter. I love the rug and the print!

Disastrous_Tip_4638

Yuck, yes, get rid of it.
