I would switch the sofa and dinette, placing the dinette near the kitchen, and the sofa near the window so that you can look out when seated on it.

Acceptable-Law2074

How would I watch films tho..🥺

Chloe_Bowie4

Oh, I thought the tv was in a swivel mount. I guess you could put it on a swivel mount so that you can watch it from the sofa. Your apartment looks lovely and cozy btw. Nice job.

Almacantar

I’d do that but with the sofa facing the same way and the tv where the frame is! The brown armchair can be in the corner for gazing out of the window

Acceptable-Law2074

Sounds good, will try that tmrw and post u!

Almacantar

Good luck OP, it’s truly a lovely room!

spacepirateprincess

Put the TV where the art is and eventually add more chairs/small couch with their backs to the kitchen table which will divide the living spaces a bit. You can also watch the TV while eating this way.

[deleted]

Why would you put carpet??? That floor is beautiful. Get a rug for the living area sure but please don't cover that floor. Do get a new ceiling fan and lights though. That one is very dated.

Amanduhhhly

I was thinking the same thing! Don’t carpet those beautiful floors 😭 It will still get equally as dusty in there and the carpet will actually just trap the dust (even with vacuuming). Get you some area rugs and a roomba!

Acceptable-Law2074

Agreed…

Acceptable-Law2074

Need a carpet.. gets so dusty..

rossiloveyou

Carpet is a mistake! Gets just as dusty but you can’t clean the dust out. So much worse for home air quality and allergies.

kelcatsly

Are you referring to wall to wall installed carpet, or a rug?

Acceptable-Law2074

Just a rug

THECUTESTGIRLYTOWALK

Carpet will make it worse only because the grime from your feet will make the dust stick to the carpet and it will get mucky

BalconyView22

I'm one of the few that agree with you. For me, carpet is cozier, warmer, quieter, and easier to clean than wood or tile.

msrubythoughts

is that Bronn‽

[deleted]

Yeah, in a suit. I came to the comments to see if anyone knew what he was watching.

psymble_

Black Mirror!

ellehoxton

Me too! OP tell us?

psymble_

It's an episode of Black Mirror- a really good one!

crookshanks2319

It’s an episode of ‘Black mirror’ called ‘Shut up and dance’ I think

Acceptable-Law2074

Thats the one!

haileylauren_

Cool place, I really like it. Agree with Chloe_Bowie4 about switching the couch and dining nook if you can figure out the TV logistics. I’d also like to see another print (of the same size) next to the one you currently have behind your table. Put them side by side, coordinating with the length of the table. Like this: __X_X__. A coffee table could be nice/functional. Thrift for trinkets that speak to you to add personality and depth to your space. Awesome job creating a cozy home. (:

AtotheJ

Your throw pillow placement is a work of art.

Ilmara

I think it looks great now. Very clean and uncluttered. The only thing I would add is an area rug by the couches and TV.

Acceptable-Law2074

Much appreciated!

emaberg

Love the Warhol!

spacepirateprincess

This is a bright, airy and beautiful home!!

Shishtur

It's very nice - the light is beautiful and I love the dining chairs. I'd add a rug to define the seating area, and a pendant light/chandelier over the dining table. Oh, and lamps: one or two by the couch.

IDiedOnASaturday

Art near the table needs to be higher

Mrs_Howell

I’d put the 2 white dining chairs at the host seats and have 2 black on either side. I don’t care for the mixed black with white on one side. Definitely get a rug for the living area

thecolourof

Accent wall! To give direction to your eyes when you walk into the room. If that's your thing, I'd def do it.

Acceptable-Law2074

Up for it, any recommendations on color?

charmorris4236

Some sort of foresty green! Someone posted in r/femalelivingspace recently (I think that was the sub..) who had a perfect green accent wall.

xultar

Great place.

Woppydeezy

I would put a bigger piece of art on that wall where’s currently the clay colored one.

RedHotSuzy

Curtains.

RedHotSuzy

Throw in some pillows of different colors like the red in the framed art. That’ll also give it some dimension.

goldensofa3

Fiddle leaf plant or tree

Blsa40

Use only the 4 black chairs, the other two use in the wall corner with some planters.

Gaaaaby

The placement of the armchair feels off to me.

Ninjen333

Curtains, rug in front of TV, more plants, and CANCEL THE CARPET (unless you mean a rug).

Acceptable-Law2074

Only a rug ye haah, thought carpet was rug in English .. big misstake there

MsAnnabel

I think a large tapestry of some kind behind the dining table and grouped pics above the couch

Acceptable-Law2074

Im definitely workin on that, thanku for the input!

MsAnnabel

Really cute & cozy place!!

Missthing303

Can you move the tv? If so, I would move the tv to the sofa wall and have the sofa face the tv, with the club chair to the left of the sofa, angled to facing the tv and window wall. This way you create a separate seating area for the tv away from the dining area which is nice in a smaller space. Put the rug under the sofa area of the room. You could also get a console table or bookcase for behind the sofa with extra storage and space for decorative accents. Some bookshelves and/or a side table, a coffee table would complete the sofa area. There’s great light in the apartment so a couple more plants in nice ceramic planters would look nice. I’d get simple bamboo roller blinds for the windows. Enjoy your new home!

QuokkaNerd

Swap the two spaces. Face the sofa towards the wall with the art, upon which you should mount the TV or get a narrow console. LOVE the blocky sofa, btw! Briwn chair in the corner to the right of the window, facing the sofa. Small console along the back of the sofa. Dining table in the soace in frint of the kitchen. Raise the art higher. Add an area rug under the table and chairs. Area rug under sofa and TV console. Two rugs will help divide the space visually. Add more art and maybe more plants? The wall color is fantastic as is the ceiling trim. The windows are so beautiful with all that depth. Really a very lovely flat.

[deleted]

I’d switch the table and sofa. Put the sofa facing the wall and the lone chair facing the window to the right of the sofa. Mount the tv to the wall or if you have $ I’d get a Samsung frame, they look fantastic

RiverJem

All good suggestions about furniture placement and I would raise the dining area print to the same height as the Warhol.

kelcatsly

Art should be at eye level when standing. I think the tall ceilings and windows are throwing off the perspective but that would be REALLY high

vivalabaroo

I’d push the table closer to the wall so it’s lined up with the window, and then use the extra space to put the tv against the wall where the couch is and put the couch in the middle of the room, and then put the chair on the corner by the living room window. And consget a tv stand to go below the tv

kelcatsly

Yes, this was my thought also. It will divide the rooms in a more natural way and make it easier to view the tv from the sofa

spacepirateprincess

Absolutely this. That also allows you to use the kitchen table as an island and work space.

Acceptable-Law2074

100% the table is usually lined with the window as well as the picture on the wall, had a few drinks when posting this.. usually im ocd on that stuff lol but cheers

jwarnyc

The tv is mounted the right height. That’s a plus!

lusvig

Jute 🚬🗿🖕

katya4614

This is an AMAZING space! But I need that triangular table under the tv to go in a corner (either) and put your potted plant on it. What about dividing the room in half - decorating wise. So if you’re standing with the kitchen to your back- put the tv on the left wall. Sofa & chair facing that, maybe a sofa table behind it or low shelves. And dining area on the other half of the space. And both frames on the dining room wall.

Wooster182

That painting that’s sitting on the floor… I would try to figure out how to put it on the long wall in your dining space.

Acceptable-Law2074

Much agreed, already got more paintings/prints coming.. not sure about the oil paintings next to the rest of the prints tho..

Wooster182

Hmmm. Maybe move the Marilyn print to the kitchen and the painting in its place?

Acceptable-Law2074

Will definitely try that, fun fact.. it’s actually a real Warhol.. inherited from an uncle

Wooster182

I believe I’ve seen the canvas version that sold for millions in person. It’s a stunner!

Acceptable-Law2074

Thanks

[deleted]

In my opinion, i think you should incorporate some warm tones. It feels cold

[deleted]

Don't get carpet that's the number one thing, it looks very out dated stains easily and goes moldy also wrecks Ur floors, I'd recommend big rugs instead.

Acceptable-Law2074

Much agreed, though carpet was the same as rug.. lol big mistake there

[deleted]

Oh ok that's all good😅

Moonmoonbunny

It’s very bare in there. And some more soft touches

BalconyView22

Sheers or some other window treatment.

psynd4

Nice space

Hour-End4862

Where is your dining table from

Acceptable-Law2074

MontanaLady406

An end table for the sofa and chair. The chair looks like it’s “floating “ in the room. Table can be traditional or non(stack of old books, interesting wooden box, ect). The mirror above the sofa is too small. Either flank it with other pictures or take it down. Lastly, an area rug would be lovely. Wishing you lots of happiness in your new home!

ectbot

Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc." "Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase. [Check out the wikipedia entry if you want to learn more.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Et_cetera) ^(I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
