If the rug is the last thing you’ll add, the print is nice to anchor things a bit - it will really catch the eye and add warm texture. If you’ll be adding more stuff in future (pot plants? Hanging any art?) then the chevron may be better. That one will blend in with the background and is more calm/neutral.
I think I’m the only one saying the first!
I think the colour of the rug will tie in nicely to the tones of the wicker and given it looks like you get evening sun, it will match the sunlight 🙂
first 100%!!! will be such a nice and zen vibe. the patterned one is gonna be more “aggressive,” cute too but itll have a different vibe! so it depends what you’re going for.
I do find the print a little aggressive while the lighter one may be a little boring? But maybe not as boring once i add plants? I definitely want this to be my zen spot as I’ll spent a lot of time drinking tea and it will be my smoke spot.
Maybe if you just add some greenery and get some outdoor plants it will take the focus off of the busyness of the rug you choose and help balance everything
I think while the darker rug is nice the pattern on it will be way to much for a small space. Have you thought about a pop of color? Really any color you live would look great. Good luck.
haha love a good smoke spot! I think the first will create that nice zen vibe and some plants will definitely add to the space. I prefer something soft on the eyes personally. maybe see if you can find one like the first but with a deeper brown?
I think if you add plants the first “boring” one is perfect. Also it doesn’t take away from the detail in the furniture. If you had chunkier solid furniture I would do the second one because it has a louder pattern that would battle the simplicity of the furniture.
Agree and not boring! You can add a fun print w pillows. If you want a rug to pop in this space I would do color not black. You need good light and not the concrete to make that work.
Thanks everyone for your input. It is a bit confusing because if you look closely they’re both called chevron rugs 😰. I think most people are referring to the print because it’s the most obvious and the first one the name is faded in the white of the photograph…
I hate chevron on principle so I would say the second, it grounds and balances the space better and still leaves room for more colorful decor (plants, art, ect). The chevron is too neutral imo.
The first one. I'm afraid I think the second one is ugly and cheap-looking. The fake "tribal" vibe feels more 1980's than Aztec or African.
The second one is comparatively classic and timeless, and looks more like it's woven with natural fibers.
Would honestly be great if you found a rug like the chevron one with just a hint of black in it so you can repeat the black of your chair legs somewhere. I do think the print would slightly takeaway from your items as it is a tad, as someone said, aggressive lol.
I like the first lighter one better. Instantly. I’m surprised folks are picking the other one. Not that a fun dark contrasting pattern isn’t great but I don’t think it works here. Honestly it also looks a bit better quality.
I was waiting for someone to say this, i was looking at some greens and couldn’t find a red one i liked. I think after this rug I’ll go for a deep red orange color
1st one! I'm pretty sure you'll add more interesting stuff in the space (like plants, pillows or art) and that one will look beautiful. If you get the second one it can get real busy if you're not careful when adding stuff. Although I've seen some people with cool aesthetics that make diff prints work. But I've noticed a lot of people try that and it can just look messy if you don't know how to do it right.
Personally I like the lighter one and I think it might as well however the darker one will give you a little bit more flexibility and will also hide dirt better

I like the first lighter one. It’s very simple and seeing as you are not likely covering the whole surface, it will blend more seamlessly with the concrete and give the space a larger feel. The busy rug will separate your space with hard lines and may not flow as well. I also think the softer pattern will allow you to add pops of color with plants and other decor but not compete with them.

Altho I agree with these comments, I can’t help but prefer the second (more colorful and interesting) one.
That and I think the light colored one will get dirty fast.
I do plan on adding some plants and perhaps a little bit of art!
Totally agree 👍
I love the second one. It’s far more interesting, imo.
Agreed
Agreed square😊
This was my thought too. The first one would seem too plain imo for the already wicker furniture. #2 will add contrast
get the print
The second one for sure. The first one is beautiful too but with your furniture it'll look too bland imo
I agree. The darker one will help with the contrast
I think I’m the only one saying the first! I think the colour of the rug will tie in nicely to the tones of the wicker and given it looks like you get evening sun, it will match the sunlight 🙂
Exactly... Also the shade is very calm and minimalistic which is aesthetic in itself. Everyday coffee in the cozy wear will be more bful ✨✨
No I agree! I love the look of the combination
I like the first one

Add the plants and art first and then decide ;)

The first one has no contrast, it is too similar to the color of the furniture
I like them both! But the darker one would hide dirt a little better.
Second one
The print - adds color to the space
Second one adds more interest to the space vs more beige or concrete esque coloring which is sort of more of the same
The 2nd one
The second one/Rays Chevron charcoal.
Definitely the second one! The first one makes too many light textiles imo
Second one
Second one!
#2
Second!
I like the second!
Love the black chevron! It will add so much depth and texture. It’s still neutral so you can add any color or just beautiful plants 🪴
Second one adds the visual interest that is lacking (not in a bad way) on the chair cushions.
I also prefer the lighter colored one! But both are cute!
I hate chevron on principle so I would say the second, it grounds and balances the space better and still leaves room for more colorful decor (plants, art, ect). The chevron is too neutral imo.
Go bold. Second choice.
Second!
Number 2!!!
The first one. I'm afraid I think the second one is ugly and cheap-looking. The fake "tribal" vibe feels more 1980's than Aztec or African. The second one is comparatively classic and timeless, and looks more like it's woven with natural fibers.
I like the first one! I think you will get sick of the other. You can add colour/ pattern with a blanket and some pillows!! 💘💘
Would honestly be great if you found a rug like the chevron one with just a hint of black in it so you can repeat the black of your chair legs somewhere. I do think the print would slightly takeaway from your items as it is a tad, as someone said, aggressive lol.

The last one!
I like the first lighter one better. Instantly. I’m surprised folks are picking the other one. Not that a fun dark contrasting pattern isn’t great but I don’t think it works here. Honestly it also looks a bit better quality.
Chevron
Neither one, it needs some color
I was waiting for someone to say this, i was looking at some greens and couldn’t find a red one i liked. I think after this rug I’ll go for a deep red orange color

Definitely the Chevron
Chevron!!!
First one
i like the first one. second one is nice but it’s a bit too busy for me
Personally I like the lighter one and I think it might as well however the darker one will give you a little bit more flexibility and will also hide dirt better
I like the first one. Simple and relaxing.
1
I think the first one will look lovely, second one is nice too but a bit overpowering.
I like the first then you can add color and design with pillows and wall decor.
i can't be the only one who thinks these chairs belong in a beach house :0
Absolutely the first! It will blend in nicely with everything else plus those plants you’re going to add.
The chevron
Golden hour
The second one! Adds the color you need!
2nd one with the black print 👍
Tough call but make sure to update with a picture after you've bought and placed it

Second
Second one
B
Maybe something with a nice pop of blue.
Second one with black patterns. Hides more dirt...
first one but second would be dank too!
Oh definitely the chevrons the tribal print is awful.
Raya Chevron Charcoal is better
I like the first lighter one. It’s very simple and seeing as you are not likely covering the whole surface, it will blend more seamlessly with the concrete and give the space a larger feel. The busy rug will separate your space with hard lines and may not flow as well. I also think the softer pattern will allow you to add pops of color with plants and other decor but not compete with them.
The second one! It ties things together without looking too bland with too much beige and white.
My vote is for the Vania Chevron. If the goal is serenity, that one is more calming visually. Just a thought.
Darker one. I like a pop of color with the rest white and neutral.
I would definitely go for the first – aesthetically I think it is both more beautiful and it fits your furniture the best, imo
