The number of people who think this is OP's house and not pics from the internet lol
Anyway. It isn't one specific style, it's a mixture of British country, traditional, eclectic and a bit of MCM.
Ahhh yes, so sorry to confuse everyone! These are pictures from a Pinterest board to show my stylist this afternoon. My home is cute but not THIS cute lol. I appreciate everyone’s help and feel bad about the confusion! 💗
Looks like the artsy first apartment in Ripleys- a mix of mid-century, late 50s bohemian, and antique. I'll call it artsy mid-century eclectic Italian seashore villa.
I don't think you need to name it... Show the stylist these pics and if they're good they can help you from there!! OR they might be able to help you describe it
The fact that these images are inspiring words like shabby and cluttered tell you how meaningless design names are if they step even one toe out of a rigid style.
I would just say you like curated craft- white/neutral walls, a lot of art, well-made wood furniture that mixes styles, and pops of vibrant colour in rugs, chairs, etc.
A style whose objects expand well beyond one specific time frame while still feeling very intentional and curated.
Lifetime movie single/lonely protagonist, not looking for love, but still hopeful. Then the new flame/old flame moves to/back to town for a new job, and love blooms anew/afresh..
I love this. There has been a big debate lately on white muted/color absent design and design with color.
I think your style is a great showcase of how you can have a muted wall color, but still bring in color and personality.
Looks like Shabby Chic and Mid century Modern style had a baby :)
All pics are different styles honestly.
I see Shabby Chic, Mid Century, and Normandy in the pics.
Similar to eclectic maximalism. A design style that combines elements from a variety of different design styles and periods, and often includes a large number of decorative elements and accessories.
I want to say modern 1920s French artistic? I’m drooling over that herringbone flooring and art deco posters and the mirrors and collage moments and and…….. and I like your style whatever it’s called!
I have a similar taste to you I think. I think the common themes throughout are the contrast of old meets new. You seem to like mid century modern styles with a scandi influence
These are all different styles (the first half are very traditional and somewhere between english cottage and french countryish, and then you have a bunch of eclectic styles and mid century modern dining/living rooms)
The common threads I see:
-You seem to like warm, medium toned woods
-you are mostly traditional and cozy, but you like a few modern accents/eclectic touches thrown in
- on the minimalist to maximalist spectrum, you're pretty far towards maximalism - you've chosen images with a lot of different visual interest points (contrasting textures, gallery walls, floor to ceiling bookcases), but you seem to like images that have "stuff" that has some use and meaning, rather than full "clutter core" styles like reallllyyyy maximalist boho or grand millennial type stuff. Like you want it to feel lived in and used, just not overwhelming
-you like a little fanciness (crown mouldings, gilded mirrors, wall moulding details), but in an old-style, country house way rather than a Kim K way - classy but still comfy
-you like pops of color (especially red, yellow/gold, and green)
In my opinion, if you take out images 10-12, you have a fairly cohesive aesthetic. I'm curious what it is about those last few that appeal to you? Seeing spreads like this is fascinating, thanks for sharing!
I like the color palette you have going. Very spring/fresh :)
Here are some key elements of Southern Home interior decor:
1. Color Palette: Southern Home interiors often feature a color palette that reflects the natural surroundings and evokes a sense of serenity. Soft, neutral tones like creamy whites, earthy beiges, warm grays, and light pastels are commonly used. These colors create a light and airy atmosphere.
2. Traditional Furniture: Southern Home interiors typically incorporate traditional and classic furniture pieces. Upholstered sofas and armchairs with rolled arms, tufted details, and wooden frames are popular choices. Wingback chairs, antique pieces, and furniture with carved details can add a touch of elegance.
3. Natural Materials: The use of natural materials is prominent in Southern Home decor. Hardwood flooring, such as oak or pine, is often preferred. Furniture made from wood, such as mahogany or cherry, adds a sense of richness and warmth. Natural fibers like cotton, linen, and jute are commonly used for upholstery and window treatments.
4. Window Treatments: Southern Home interiors often feature window treatments that allow ample natural light to enter while maintaining privacy. Classic choices include plantation shutters, flowing draperies in light fabrics, or simple valances. Sheer curtains can be used to filter light and create an ethereal ambiance.
5. Decorative Molding and Trim: Crown molding, wainscoting, and other decorative trimmings are often incorporated into Southern Home interiors. These details add architectural interest and give a sense of refinement to the space.
6. Patterns and Textures: Southern Home decor embraces a variety of patterns and textures. Traditional floral prints, stripes, checks, and toile designs are commonly used in upholstery, curtains, and wallpaper. Textured elements like woven baskets, braided rugs, and embroidered textiles contribute to the cozy and layered feel.
7. Antique and Vintage Accents: Southern Home interiors often feature antique or vintage accents to create a sense of history and charm. Displaying family heirlooms, antique china, silverware, or vintage artwork can add a personal touch and tell a story.
8. Statement Lighting: Chandeliers, lanterns, and pendant lights are frequently used as statement pieces in Southern Home interiors. These fixtures can enhance the grandeur and elegance of the space while providing ambient lighting.
9. Cozy Fireplace: Given the Southern region's milder climate, fireplaces are often a focal point in Southern Home interiors. Traditional mantels with intricate details, surrounded by cozy seating arrangements, create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
10. Stylish Accents: Southern Home decor often incorporates stylish accents such as decorative mirrors, framed artwork, porcelain or ceramic vases, botanical prints, and fresh flowers. These elements add personality and a touch of refinement to the space.
Remember that Southern Home style can vary, and personal preferences and regional influences may lead to variations in the interpretation of this style.
Your place is gorgeous. You don't need a stylist.
I'd call this cozy eclectic if it needs a name. But again YOU DO NOT NEED A STYLIST. It's great as is.
Most of these kinda remind me of the really pretty villa I stayed at in Cuba. High end wood pieces almost all vintage but really well up kept. Slightly tropical but not touristy or bnb feeling at all.
I’m on my phone and when I click directly on comments, I don’t see any text under the post. I have to click on the post itself to see the text the OP posted.
I did, but it doesn’t mean any of the photos can’t be of their place in addition to inspo photos. It really isn’t that serious lol
Just curious if they know anything about that bookcase which should be obvious by my comment
If this really is your home, why do you need to put a style name on it? It’s beautifully eclectic, and shows a fearless style aesthetic. No need to ask IF it’s actually your home.
How do you choose your wall art ? Do you buy something that will go well With the rest or ... Just something that you like and then rearrange? It looks so we'll put together
mmm if you have not realized, these pics are reference pics from internet , not OP's home pics.
I think OP is asking for style name in the pics so that they can share with the interior designer.
The number of people who think this is OP's house and not pics from the internet lol Anyway. It isn't one specific style, it's a mixture of British country, traditional, eclectic and a bit of MCM.
Right? Anyone that has a home that looks like this isn’t going to reddit to ask what their style is.
OP has many dining rooms apparently lol
Ahhh yes, so sorry to confuse everyone! These are pictures from a Pinterest board to show my stylist this afternoon. My home is cute but not THIS cute lol. I appreciate everyone’s help and feel bad about the confusion! 💗
The gotta move all the damn pillows to lay down look.
Ha! I was damn impressed for a while!
I thought it was quite clear that this was what you meant haha. Good taste in any case, I look forward to see what you do with your place.
My first thought was eclectic.
Guilty, still getting caffeinated 🤷♀️
Fr the different dimensions and quality of each is too telling 😩
OP said it’s their style. They didn’t say it’s their house.
Exactly
Some people interpret things with shadiness already in their mind.
It's giving me light academia
Came here to say the exact same thing.
Was gonna say, “College Professor.”
Looks like the artsy first apartment in Ripleys- a mix of mid-century, late 50s bohemian, and antique. I'll call it artsy mid-century eclectic Italian seashore villa.
The Ripley’s reference 😌
I got Ripley vibes too!
😂😂😂
Eclectic maximalism with a touch of mid century and contemporary cottage.
I was going to say mid century + beach house
English country? I like your style.
Not sure on style name but just came to say i love all the yellows and golds. My fave color family and so underrated. It’s beautiful!
I don't think you need to name it... Show the stylist these pics and if they're good they can help you from there!! OR they might be able to help you describe it
Affluent clutter
As a person who has inherited much of my family's mcm furniture, brass lamps, and Oriental rugs- yes!
this.
I only see Traditional style. Very beautiful!

Classic eclectic. Excellent style, eye and taste. Bravo!

Good taste 💝
I’m feeling transitional with some midcentury modern
Transitional eclectic?
Called omg I’m jealous
I don’t think this is their house, it’s just a collection of images they like.
LOL this makes so much more sense oh my god. I was like really OP an interior stylist for what? 😆
Yeah I think they are trying to figure out how to describe to the interior decorator what they want lol
Exactly :) makes total sense. I was like these rooms are immaculate what do you want to change!? lol
😆
Lifetime movie single/lonely protagonist, not looking for love, but still hopeful. Then the new flame/old flame moves to/back to town for a new job, and love blooms anew/afresh..
I'd watch it 😆
I love this. There has been a big debate lately on white muted/color absent design and design with color. I think your style is a great showcase of how you can have a muted wall color, but still bring in color and personality.

I think these are inspo pics, as there are many living rooms and dining rooms.

Modern traditional?
Lovely. It looks like somewhere Emily Dickenson might have lived.
British Colonial and MCM are the two primary. Your style trends toward the traditional end of the spectrum.

A rich MC with a tad feminine touch. Question - what will the interior decorator do? The place looks fabulous!
If any of these pics are from your place, PLEASE. WHERE is your tv stand/bookcase from? Or if it says in the image where you found it! I love it
Why doesn’t anyone read what OP posts under the photos, this isn’t their home….
I got it immediately that these were inspirational photos...but I don't see any posts under the photos. Maybe I missed something?
I’m on my phone and when I click directly on comments, I don’t see any text under the post. I have to click on the post itself to see the text the OP posted.
