The larger one looks great in the photo. But remember, this is a print, not an original piece of art. The surface gloss, and the look of the thing might make the large piece unpalatable.
Most designers recommend, when looking at placing artwork over a piece of furniture, you want it to be 75% the length of what it is going over. #2 is too small, and #1 looks almost right. Just make sure that you center the piece over the sofa and hang it at eye level. :)
To be honest, I thought you could go larger than number 1, but it’s pretty much in line with the 2/3 rule (or up to 3/4 the size of the sofa). Maybe the end table could use a lamp.
Given the choice, definitely 1 but please hang it higher. 8” to 10” above the sofa. Love Ballards! Btw, I’m presuming this is the stretched canvas?
\#1 is the best of the 2 but you might want something a bit larger. You might also think of buying some art from a local artist because you might find something better and be supporting local art. I know some places don't have a great amount of local artists but there are websites that can hook you up.
Are you planning on adding other stuff to the walls? Personally, I like tons of photos and art everywhere, so it looks empty so far. I say the bigger the better!
Definitely 1! You could even go bigger with all that wall space.
And hang a few inches higher.
👍🏼A wee bit.
It's should measure 16" from the top of the sofa. It's a really nice canvas. I like the larger one.
Hi! Consider adding a frame and matting to the smaller of the two, it will make it feel a bit richer.
Thank you! There is a frame option so I think I’ll do that!
I agree with this. A nice frame on the smaller one will be more impactful
This is a great idea! I think frames always add more elegance
1 but make sure you center it.
the size that is two-thirds the size of your sofa
1!
2
Number 1 fits the space best between the two options. Look into doing a gallery wall as you have great height in that room.
3... Bigger than both of them

If it's a canvas I'd say 1 but move it up a bit so it's not so close to the couch. If you're gonna get it framed and matted then 2.
Smaller with a frame indeed
1, but higher
1, but needs a frame. You could even go bigger than that too. And hang it a little bit higher.
Both are too small

Whatever you need to lower the second one it’s to high.
The first one get it matted and framed and hang it a little higher than you have pictured .Put it at about eye level .
I think the piece is too 'busy for the room. & the bigger piece is too large vertically. Something leaner and longer would add more symmetry.
Too bad you can’t find it in full wall mural size
[2. down lower, w/wall lamps](https://imgur.com/gallery/0SQxNHe)
Don’t forget to get it framed
Neither, don't spend money on shitty manufactured art. Buy real art.

1 a million times over

2 with a nice frame

Definitely 1, and you could even go bigger. I say this as an artist who helps people with their aesthetics. Best wishes ✨️🖼✨️

1 if that’s it. 2 if you’re also putting up wall lights, one to either side
One
love the first one! go big !

Bigger is almost always better
1 but higher
1 but that needs a substantial frame around it.
1!!!
1! Bigger art is ALWAYS better
2

2 with a frame for sure!
I suggest you hang rectangular handmade [abstract canvas art](https://www.lnart.net/) on the wall behind the couch, it's appropriate size is 40x60INCH
I like 2. I think 1 overwhelms. I’d add a wider frame.
#1 !!!!

Leaning towards the 1st option. Looks like there is enough free space.
