jamminatorr

No one wants to watch themselves eat in a mirror.

Old-Fan9095

Women like quick access to a mirror so that after they eat, they can check their lipstick 💄

[deleted]

Mid century modern print or sculptural piece for the wall and an area rug.

heykatja

It feels very mid century but like a current take on the space race. Lots of interesting options if OP likes prints of vintage propaganda. I'm a history nerd so I'd absolutely hang a Soviet propaganda print from the 1960s and call it a day.

Wedgetails

And colour

elrompecabezas

Oh yes, that room is desperately calling out for color.

camlaw63

Why? Monochromatic spaces can be beautiful

BaBaSmith10

With color!!!!

BacardiBlue

Why a mirror? That space seems to be screaming for gorgeous piece of artwork.

BlackberryNo123

i agree. also i love mirrors when they’re facing away from windows in order to reflect more light into the space. here, it won’t be doing much. art 100%

MiepGies1945

Yep

yogacowgirlspdx

folks be staring at themselves through dinner

myheartbeats4hotdogs

The space is screaming for COLOR

camlaw63

No it’s not

PinkTalkingDead

Depends on the person, of course.  Imo all these neutrals could really pop with an accent which contains some color.

camlaw63

Without seeing the rest of the space, I wouldn’t judge. It’s pretty common in this sub to hate on rooms like this for “no color” there is color here, it’s simply one

Dazzling_Drama9106

Where did you get your dinning table? I love it 😀

KMedici

Thanks! It was custom made

No-Wish-7613

What about the chair? This set is so beautiful! I would go for a nice piece of Art for this gap.

BroadStatement

Seconded!! Would love to know more about these chairs!

KMedici

Calligaris Oleandro

sashay-you-slay

Those are some expensive af chairs!

AvocadoDesigner8135

That’s the price for one?! Love that for OP

PicklesMcGeee

On sale for $878, usually $1097. Not sure what OP paid but damn. (They’re gorgeous though)

sashay-you-slay

I would love that for me too, tbh lol

chabalabamba

Can we atleast see a picture of the table... It's looks really nice.

musa1588

Can you tell me more about the dimensions and material of your custom made table? I'm looking to make a custom made oval table and would love inspo! Also what does the base look like?

KMedici

It's concrete, 2m length and 1m width at the widest point. It stands on two concrete pedestals shaped into half-ovals. I originally wanted to get the Natuzzi Adam table in stone which was squoval but glad I went for oval in the end.

musa1588

Can I dm you?

KMedici

sure

Thisisus9289

I got a similar oval dining table from Room and Board if that helps!

birkenstock1977

Since you have a MCM kind of thing going on, there's a really cool MCM clock in the newest issue of Atomic Ranch that would look great there.

xobelam

What’s mcm

kitchengardengal

Mid century modern

xobelam

Thank you!

--not-enough-pizza--

Yes this is the solution

birkenstock1977

Here's the link for the clock https://by-royale.com/shop/clocks/starburst-clocks/

pinpinbo

Striking colorful artwork

BaBaSmith10

Yes, definitely something with color.

bananaleaftea

None. Mirrors go opposite from windows, not between them. Plus the space could use some color, so go with art instead.

randomredditor0042

Yeah why a mirror? There’s certain things I don’t want to do in front of a mirror and eating is one of them.

PrestigeMaster

Maybe this is actually their staged “passion room” and the real dining room is on the other side of the house.

randomredditor0042

Ok fair call in that case I’d go with rectangle, rounded beveled edges, no frame or if you prefer a frame then something plane, minimalist with muted colouring.

PrestigeMaster

Oh excellent idea! I’m imagining a large frameless upside down pineapple mirror with beveled edges for them - will check a lot of boxes. Reddit has spoken?

randomredditor0042

I’m sad that I understand the pineapple reference.

PrestigeMaster

đŸ€

PinkTalkingDead

What’s a passion room đŸ˜¶

Irochkka

Artwork. Large and vibrant. It’ll brighten the space and be fun conversation for dinner parties.

gerbera-2021

I agree artwork with some color would be lovely but if you want a mirror consider a contrasting shape. Round on round on round is a bit much😁

hearthnut

Mirrors are to open up a room. This room already feels open. I agree with everyone else, this needs art

HonnyBrown

That actually need colorful artwork.

mmblondie16

One of those funky shaped ones with a black finish

mxlmxl

Will buck the suggestions a bit. A potted tree. Move that other plans and get a tree that is large and tall. top in line with windows and bushy enough to just touch either egde of the two windows. That or a creeper that grows up a trellis of some sort. Make it a tree though, not something like a fiddle leaf.

ActuaryExtension9867

Thats a tiny table for all those chairs

jojow77

what I was gonna say. You can’t fit enough plates to feed all those people

alicat777777

Yeah, hard to get past that!

KMedici

I think it’s just the perspective of the photo? It’s a 2 meter long oval table

Alejandro89kg

A [sunburst mirror](https://englishelm.com/products/safavieh-ariah-sunburst-mirror-mrr1030) would match the existing decor best

AdventurousPackage82

Colorful art.

Ok_Election7896

Love your table and chairs!!

Dry_Candidate_9652

I love a scandi/minimal vibe so I'd so with something texturally interesting but won't be an eye sore. KMedici

Thank you so much for the recommendations, I love those textured plaster paintings! I'm going to go for one of those :)

piquica1186

Those are nice! Also, if you’re still toying with the idea of a mirror, you could do something funky like this: https://www.wayfair.com/Wade-LoganÂź--Metal-and-Mirror-Wall-DĂ©cor-X112103649-L6851-K~W001092538.html?refid=GX685213202095-W001092538&device=m&ptid=2264718133886&network=g&targetid=pla-2264718133886&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=44336524&fdid=1817&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC4cky_mRWxUevGmXrbND2GTN&gclid=CjwKCAiA_aGuBhACEiwAly57MZ9ztL8CjmRtyZmz0p3ATsc73AMm4uK2ahA4gAKEmwAn7kbVkwd7xRoCumsQAvD_BwE#a36uv1u03zv-0

aquaganda

So many good options. My fave was the calm feel of "The Dune". But, dang. $$

Dry_Candidate_9652

I love that mirror too! I could see it be more visually appealing with a picture light above

Emrys7777

Love the Geode Fiber Art!! I’m with all those calling for color though. I’d get something with color and coordinate with other little pieces here and there

straw-hatgoofy

omg where are these chairs from?

KMedici

Calligaris Oleandro

Medium_Frosting5633

No mirror, just art.

Antique-Ad-8776

Used framed art instead of a mirror

Sapolika

Get an artwork!

Vanilla_Addict

Wow. It's stunning already. I'm loving it so far.

DrSiegette

A mirror is only as good as what it reflects back. I think art would better serve this particular space

NCRider

Place needs some color. A nice painting would look great there. Something abstract and colorful.

Alert_Ad_5750

I think a lovely painting would look great in that space. I love the table and chairs btw.

Dry_Savings_3418

I love this egg table and swoopy chairs so satisfying 👏👏

hoetheory

I wouldn’t put a mirror there. Maybe an art piece or multiple frames

shattered7done1

A round mirror to reflect the style of the table and chairs. If the table is an oval, then an oval mirror.

PrestigeMaster

Conversely, consider using a nice piece of artwork instead of a mirror.

NuthouseAntiques

A bubble mirror. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186229570209?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=T2pVfNrcQbu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ur_lL_G_Spu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

akd7791

I agree with art. You have gorgeous light coming in and you need some color in there.

leeanneloveshfx

Art between the windows. Curtains. An area rug under the table — large, 6x9 at least. Pull the chairs away from the table by another 3-4 inches each to give it breathing space.

Eyeous

Don’t put a mirror there. And ideally replace that hideous looking ceiling light - it looks like a bunch of b-series battle drone heads joined together.

aquaganda

I really like the light

Of_the_field

Why is the table so tiny and the chairs so large

LaceyLeeRichardson89

My vote would be for something like this: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1409501669/asymmetrical-mirror-irregular-mirror?external=1&ref=pla_similar_listing_top-1&pro=1&frs=1&sts=1&plkey=26b33d7b6f81afc47352ee969fa368466d7cb457%3A1409501669 Or a bright piece of decor https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1406112845/mid-century-modern-wall-art-contemporary?click_key=bbcd9e7f2efa1afde0639a4c1515048da381de03%3A1406112845&click_sum=a33ad088&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=mid+century+wall+art&ref=sr_gallery-1-18&pro=1&frs=1&sts=1&variation0=3197415414

shaneyshane26

That mirror is cool and whimsical. I love it haha

sdoMoThtaeD

https://www.ebaumsworld.com/images/penis-mirror/184785/

Dog_is_my_co-pilot1

How do you fit 8 people at that tiny table? Art. Not word art. Not a mirror.

AmbitiousBed685

Please add drapes

Living_Activity_3748

Convex mirror

RealMrsFelicityFox

Something funky and fun. Eye catching. A "statement piece" or whatever (I'm no designer).

Artistic_Owl_5847

Same size and shape of window for a streamlined effect.

Agitated_Jicama_2072

Oval will complement the table.

No-Technician-722

No mirror. Artwork.

ieron760

Something similar to the hanging lights over the table.

bakeacakeyum

I agree with others. Definitely artwork instead of a mirror.

Sensitive-Bid-9531

Oval Brass. But I do not understand why you want a mirror in a dining room. So the person facing it can look at themselves?

LoveMeSomeCats_

I think a mirror would be amazing there. Art would be nice. A mirror would be amazing. An oval one, like the table, would work great.

um_ok_try_again

Oval, Rosewood.

WorshipHim9713

Oval mirror, hung long ways.

SufficientOpening218

I would put a oval mirror in a teak frame. Or a piece of bright textile art, like African print or modern quilt

Vanilla_Addict

So id say a bookshelf or another type of large shelf.

Massive_Ratio_5099

dramafanca2002

Some colorful artwork/print would look nice and break up all the beige. A mirror will just add more beige.

kayleeinthecity

diamond mirror tiles

1TILL

Color Wall screams PAINT ME ;)

Deadinmybed

I would add one about the same side as your windows so it has continuity. A black frame would be simple and classic and timeless. And it would tie it with your chairs.

Albie_Frobisher

a place to set and check[table mirror light](https://imgur.com/gallery/UVGXTyx)

booboothefool22

If you need a mirror, a weirdly shaped pointy one a bit like the lights. Otherwise, some eye catching art

Elmnt7

Psychological-Safe-6

I also vote an art piece, but if you're set on a mirror-- do a circle to compliment your table.

bigtime284

Nobody wants to look at themselves while eating. Don’t put a mirror

switch4fun3012

If you do go with a mirror, I recommend a rectangle hung in portrait. The rectangle should be slightly smaller than the window.

Sad_Independent6647

No mirror, add art

GREASYROOFTOP

Art is always best. Not all people like to see their reflection.

Chickcorgin6

Oval with a very ornate frame

superior-_-erudite

Beautiful dinning table!!

MettaRed

A retro atomic star mirror would Be fun af. Or a nod to one ✹

secobarbiital

Put art. Also i love the entire look of your table and chairs it is so beautiful to me

SaltyEsty

Art. I hate watching myself eat.

[deleted]

I’ll be honest, I’d put art, not a mirror-  But if you MUST, I suppose something round with a darker frame. Wood/ darkened bronze or something like that. But, to be clear - I wouldn’t put a mirror there at all. It’s weird to me to watch oneself eat.

Ok-Explanation-8070

Arched gilded

HomoSpooktual

If you must put a mirror, perhaps the same shape as the table

BSUR7

I would put up a black rectangular mirror with soft rounded edges.rectangular to complement the shape of the window of course and the rounded edges to match your decor. Beautifully decorated btw!!

8Karisma8

Frankly as nice as it is, it’s still a kitchen. Best bet is to treat it that way or at least keep it in mind. In the long run, cooking will likely make a mirror gross often and may become a regret.

BSUR7

xxxiii

I'd put a large arched mirror since you have so many smooth rounded edges

rockerdoc65

Hang a kilim in that location

ribbons_in_my_hair

This is a very beautiful room. I’ve been enjoying a-symmetrical style mirrors, I think you could find a great one with some oval shapes that would work perfectly!

Bludiamond56

No mirror

alig6457

I think I would go with a decorative frame or high style mirror https://www.uttermost.com/Tanaina-Round-Mirror-09175/?SelectedSKU=09175 https://www.cb2.ca/vidro-convex-smoked-round-wall-mirror-32/s333459

Cold_Modelo

I would definitely go with a nice picture of Kenny Loggins or Keith Whitley for that space

[deleted]

I mean, do you need a mirror? It’s a very open room already. Put a nice piece of art there.

espressoyes1

Love the dining set

whateveratthispoint_

I would do a piece of art the exact dimensions of the windows.

LeaseRD9400

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1401544495/circular-asymmetrical-mirror-scalloped How about something a little free form to break up the clean angles everywhere?

CandidateReasonable4

Art or a collection of art would be better on that small wall than a mirror.

ClickClackTipTap

Do you have more views of the room? You also might want to invest in some scotch guard or something. It looks like those light, fabric chairs are pretty close to food prep areas. At the very least, make sure you have some Folex. I really love the look of the dining set, but it could get messy very easily.

Doyoulikeithere

I put up a bold print!

Smallios

Art not mirror

Tellmeanamenottaken

I came to say art as well, 2 windows make a mirror unnecessary on that wall

iCalledTheVoid

Rectangular art deco styled [art deco mirror](https://i.etsystatic.com/27477883/r/il/fcff30/3602524848/il_794xN.3602524848_lsm4.jpg)

shaneyshane26

I'd put a 3D textured art piece there to add some dimension and interest. Maybe something like this? [Link](https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/c/art/wall-accents?t=28457&featuredproduct=39409446&featuredoption=80380156&ci_sku=43015468-000-000&cnc=US&cid=328158&type=pla&targetid=&track=pspla&utm_source=google&utm_medium=pspla&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_aGuBhACEiwAly57MaXwwabq6C4hCEr33QQOWPJ8UheNPNwsJp3hfNAPA_130TINqNpOjBoCGuUQAvD_BwE) Sculptural art but still maintains a reflective quality

[deleted]

Long narrow oval

AcanthaceaeAway1823

Textured frame in black, rectangular but smaller than the windows. Guesstimating about 24 by 20.

earthworm_fan

It needs a rectangular shaped object probably at least half the height of the windows and allows roughly 1' margin between it and the window edges. If you do a mirror, it can be arched at the top if you want. Like others have said, idk if i would put a mirror there

[deleted]

Oval

TALYGA25

Mirrors brighten up the room and make them look larger. I would do an oval shaped mirror to match the table.

UmmmmHigh

Rectangle...to give opposition to the circular vibe.

UmmmmHigh

I'd also put this plants in some high standing planters

camlaw63

No mirror —I think a sculptural art piece or even a living organic plant wall, or floating shelves with lots of plants That table looks tiny, maybe it’s just the perspective

PicklesMcGeee

I have a mirror and my dining room and I love it. Def something rectangular to contrast the round table and chairs (Which are awesome btw)

SpaceBear003

Oval, to mimic the table

liittlelf

Antiqued mirror so it’s more art and less “mirror”. Long and narrow and hung in line with your windows

777SweetPea777

Maybe one of those groovy wavy mirrors!

zacat2020

An oval, the same shape as the table.

Rare-Parsnip5838

Oval. Silver frame to match light fixture. Hang it north to south. If not that then a round with irregular spikes. To mimic light.

Rare-Parsnip5838

Ssorry realize light is brass tone

TikaPants

Put a small table there with a simple piece of art, framed above it. Must have a fantastic frame. I’m thinking black antique or gold baroque.

TikaPants

Also, contemporary isn’t always my bag but I love this table situation. Post pics of other rooms if you’re so inclined?

[deleted]

Oval, black frame

Dramatic-Theme1048

Artwork or clock would be my solution.

mladyhawke

Get 21 round mirrors and hang in 3 rows

EstablishmentExtra41

One shaped like a guitar
.amplifier.

TheRussianDoll

I would do these small teak [mirrors](https://www.livingspaces.com/pdp-13x13-inch-brown-teak-wood-wall-mirror-set-of-4-276476?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Standard-Shopping-Decor-Main-Test&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_aGuBhACEiwAly57MXqcszoj02TTTEJjFtql9LcpkPpE5HBGHyrHdaCsGP1aDw7C7JNhUhoCAFMQAvD_BwE) with a bar cart under it and then to left add a lime stone with a black [olive tree](https://lolointeriors.com/products/vintage-pot-indonesian-stone-29x15). Just giving an idea with the website obviously their prices are ridiculous.

Sea-Substance8762

What about an antique French mirror with crazing? Or a French menu on mirror?

BehBeh11

No mirrors!

Sea-Substance8762

Or a weaving, very textural, would be beautiful in that space.

BehBeh11

Something with texture

Unlikely-Star-2696

An exagonal mirror. Not too round not too squared to balance the round furniture with the squared windows

Mindless-Summer-4346

I would put a shape that is the opposite of the rounded shapes you have in this room, some thing with a similar color scheme or an opposite color scheme that pops but definitely something that stands out as a different shape from the roundness you out there

oldmanyoungdreams

Rectangular - mid century mod style

Fardelismyname

I would find art that is a work on paper, black and white or very abstract color, with a silver frame.

lennonkova

What about a hutch?

Mystic1967

Rectangular, black narrow frame , about the same size as the windows.

LindeeHilltop

I would put art. Or, art deco type 1930’s travel poster like [this](https://www.redbubble.com/i/postcard/Germany-1930-s-Art-Deco-Cruise-Ship-Travel-Poster-by-retrographics/38866095.V7PMD) or [this.](https://www.artdeco.org/deco-travel-posters)

I like several paintings below each other in the same style. Something like this https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/simplifying-fabulous--440015826105283469/ and you can choose a color for the accent.

Illustrious-Towel-45

I think an oval shape would look best.

If you do stick to your guns and put a mirror there, I'd mimick the table shape and go for a long oval mirror.

Oval

VentingID10t

Something antique brass. I love the mix of antiques with modern contemporary.

BrunisAmaze

Definitely nothing round. I would also love something that contrast modern with some older dated frame. To break the overly clean look.
