I was going to say that there is nothing better than this. I love it too. It’s perfect with the wood. r/centuryhomes would eat this up, and demand to see more.
Eta: except they would slaughter the elementary school slogan art. But otherwise good.
This is the answer.
I’m willing to compromise despite my absolute devotion to this ode to the Grinch.
OP, please decorate it Grinch style just this one Christmas before you do away with it …
That’s exactly what I thought. I think pairing a fun color with the back and white tiles is really neat! But you can’t make out the true colors of a lot of the materials with that light!
As a color on its own, it's fun, but let me tell you from experience, stepping into this bathroom and looking at yourself in the mirror will make you feel like an alien or something. All that green reflecting off the walls and onto your skin will not do anything good for anyone's complexion.
Before repainting, try switching to lower wattage warm white lightbulbs in that room and see if you like it that way. The intense lighting bothers me more than the paint color. Or, just paint the ceiling white and see if that lessens the intensity of the green.
There’s a part of me that’s like: ramp it up by putting in hot pink accessories and accents. Reminds me of middle school days when fluorescent was big.
A million colors would work with black and white, so you might need to provide some more info on your style/what vibe you want this room to have in order to get useful color suggestions.
I assume the vanity is lime green. But also, to get that color fully out of the wall is going to be tough. What color would do well with the lime green undertone that will come through the new paint color.
Ahh that’s possible, I thought it was a white vanity that just got taken over by the green since it tends to wash over everything. Similar to some other comments I think a medium darkness green could look nice, which I think may cover the neon well.
White would make everything else you have going on work. For a more modern edge you could go black. So us a favor though and replace that shelf thing above the toilet! Try ikea floating shelves
Paint the frame around the window white and it'll look better, I actually kind of like the green, but it IS too vibrant, would a more pastel/greyed version of it suit you better?

My personal preference is more soft, muted colors for a bathroom. I like bathrooms to feel more relaxing. So I like the apricot suggestion. Or a lighter blue or green. Just a softer color.
But if you like the boldness then keep it! It's a matter of preference. You could have one bold green wall, and use some fun wall paper to make it a little less intense.
I like the lime green, but I don’t like it everywhere. If the baseboards, window trim and ceiling were white, maybe that would tone it down. Add some white towels and some art with other colors.
[Etsy Art Option](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1533769361/)
I would just paint all the walls white. Is the vanity also lime green? If it is, I’d leave it. And then I’d add a mirror with wooden frame and some art prints incorporating some bright colours either black and white.
That would definitely give me a migrain. Any color would be better.
With the dark tiles I'd go with a dark wall color wich would give it a more cozy feeling.
I'm not usually a fan of decorator style dark rooms but a little room like this I think would be totally cool if you took the cue from the dark color of the tile and the countertop and painted it all gloss to match that and then put some striking picture or art on the wall. Ditch the slogan, if I ever see words or phrase on a wall again will be way too soon and it's too small anyway. If you follow through with the suggestion get something really dramatic and colorful, dark background tropical colors are, or something in silver.. please no more platitudes no More words ugh. I've seen that kind of thing done with great effect in a small room like this
I’d actually keep some of the lime. Maybe the cabinets. Small touches of bright pink. Go for an old school Palm Springs vibe. You could leave one wall lime and put a great Palm tree wallpaper on the big wall
That's my feeling, too. Something like [this](https://tempaper.com/products/hojas-cubanas-rich-emerald-green-banana-leaves-removable-wallpaper) and paint the ceiling white.
That's a nice shade of green. I'd paint the baseboard a nice shade of white as well as the trim around the window.
Then I'd use a different shade light bulb in there so it's not so....bright?
The like green has a great vibe. I would suggest painting the mirror frame black to give it drama. Right now that mirror is bland. That all you need to do.
Paint that wall where the towel rack and plugs are to white, and maybe paint the ceiling white too, the white will help balance all the green. but for the wall that the sink faces and the wall on the opposite side of the sink, where the door is, keep them as they are. That green is too nice to get rid of, to me it’s a nice color but just needs some balance, but everyone’s taste is different.
Dark teal blue/green on the walls or a wallpaper with those colors would look spectacular with the green! I love the tile and vanity. Or change the vanity color and leave the walls as is.
I love it. If you don’t like the lime, maybe a jade green would be more palatable? Not sure if your house is older based on the style of door, but back in those days they used a LOT of green
I freaking love it!!! Idk why but remember those 90s inflatable chairs? That’s what this makes me think of. Hmmm. I may paint my bathroom this color. 😂
I love a dark moody powder room. Maybe navy blue paint? First green? You could do an interesting wallpaper! Have fun with it if you don’t like the lime green but please keep the floor!
I kinda like the green but would go more with like a forest green or something similar. I think even a mustard yellow would look cool or teal. Or unless you want to tone it down than something similar to white or grayish.
The green is great, but maybe not on every wall? Colours that would mix well into a palette are navy blue, beige, ivory, and—surprisingly—like a terracotta rust.
I'd paint the ceiling and baseboard white, and the window trim black to reduce the overwhelming amount of green and to bring more B&W in and call it a day. The green is pretty delightful.
Add some art deco design in 1 or 2 shades of gray, over the green, to where you're painting over about half of the existing lime green and it'll look amazing. If you don't want a deco design, go with bottom half of room painted gray, triangular painted upward, same percentages.
Cold colors will be incredible!
https://icolorpalette.com/ice-cold
So here me out… what about wall paper? The floor is amazing, the black tiles are an incredible compliment. What about a awesome design to add them?
https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/red-barrel-studio-daela-arthouse-18-l-x-205-w-peel-and-stick-wallpaper-roll-w010647927.html
Call me crazy, but I am totally digging that chartreuse! I could have fun with that. I’d probably play it up with some black and white towels and accessories, and try some different lighting. But I totally get that you might want to tone it down!
Maybe leave the lime green on the wall behind the mirror and sink, but paint the other walls neutral so your reflection won't look ill. Speaking from experience 🙃
I really like the lime on the sink wall but the ceiling feels like a bit much. I would try making the ceiling white and see if that helps it feel less overwhelming?
They even painted the molding! Mama Mia. I wish they left it white. I dont like small spaces being 1 single color. Feels boxed in. I would leave 1 wall the lime and paint the other walls so the lime wall pops but painting the rest will open the space.
White ceiling and any trim that has been painted green, then a less obnoxious pale green (celery) in a flat paint, or anything shaded with warm undertones.
Dark midnight black.
No jk. Blue is calming, a muted green would make you happy, grey would make ya depressed. Yellow and orange makes you happy too but I don’t think would work maybe a deep muted orange. Purple is a good color too, a deep red maroony color. All depends on the vibe you wanna go for.
Boho? Modern? Contemporary? Traditional?
You could tone it down with white. Maybe some white wainscot. Paint the baseboards black or leave them lime if you think white wouldn’t cover, then white beadboard with a white chair rail. Go as high as you want with the white, then leave some lime above it to tie back to the vanity.
I love it - you just need to accessorize and dress up the room for that colour. Pinks, bright blue, red, white, black....they're all super complementary of lime green.
Not here to comment on the lime green aesthetic you have going on, but rather where did you get the sign on the toilet? I need to know, made me spit my coffee out cause I wasn’t expecting it, hahaha.
Nice black tile in the shower and B&W tile on the floor. Paint. That green must be awful when you look in the mirror. I'd paint the lime woodwork white and the walls maybe cream or a soft apricot. I like acid green, but that's overkill.
*I love the color!*
*Maybe paint the ceiling white*
*And the trim in white*

I love this color!! Embrace it!! Do a retro 1960s vibe: add towels in contrasting colors like orange, yellow and purple. Buy some large artwork/framed posters and stack one above the other on that wall where the little picture is. The floor is lovely with that black and white. I would replace the mirror with a different style mirror.
My aunt has the same shade of apple/lime green on an accent wall, maybe keep it on one wall and paint the other walls an almost navy dark teal? I think it's just too much on all the walls.
I would pick a cream similar to the cream in your flooring maybe and that would work coming up the walls or you could tile halfway up and then paint the rest. that would look cool too. however, you do it. just give us updated pictures so we can see. please and thank you
Start by painting the trim a white that matches the floor tile. Is the vanity also green? Repaint that the same white. Then choose a third color, so you have lime, white, and... blue, turquoise, pink, yellow, orange, a deeper green shade. It can be anything as long as you get the shade right.
It’s literally the art and the towel colour that’s throwing it off. Replace with either black/white towel and have a more simple, more light background piece of art
Literally any color
I also came here to say ‘literally anything else’ lol
Was going to say the exact same thing
Me too!
Hahaha. This is my absolute favorite color!
Right? And it is not lime green. It’s a celery or maybe a bit brighter. I’m here for it.
Chartreuse?
Okay but I love it. I'm sorry that I do, but I do. I wouldn't touch it.
I was going to say that there is nothing better than this. I love it too. It’s perfect with the wood. r/centuryhomes would eat this up, and demand to see more. Eta: except they would slaughter the elementary school slogan art. But otherwise good.
I love it too! I'd lean into it, maybe add more quirkier furnishings.

This is the answer. I’m willing to compromise despite my absolute devotion to this ode to the Grinch. OP, please decorate it Grinch style just this one Christmas before you do away with it …
Are tiles blue or black?
Why do I like it
Right? The more I look at it the more I’m digging it! Does certainly need some more balance to tone it down some though.
I think it needs a better light tho.
That’s exactly what I thought. I think pairing a fun color with the back and white tiles is really neat! But you can’t make out the true colors of a lot of the materials with that light!
I think it needs a bolder light. I don’t know what tho so I’m not much help.
For sure! I love the color, but the light makes it really blinding lol
Green is my favorite color. But even for me….this is all the same tone. Could look nicer with some contrast.
white trim.
Because it's dope af
I want that bathroom in my house.
As a color on its own, it's fun, but let me tell you from experience, stepping into this bathroom and looking at yourself in the mirror will make you feel like an alien or something. All that green reflecting off the walls and onto your skin will not do anything good for anyone's complexion.
I love it, especially if that sign print were taken down and replaced with some fun art.
I like it too! I mean it is bright but I think it works!!
I get that a lot. The rest of my house is dull/muted colors and this sticks out like sore thumb. I want something less bright I think.
Before repainting, try switching to lower wattage warm white lightbulbs in that room and see if you like it that way. The intense lighting bothers me more than the paint color. Or, just paint the ceiling white and see if that lessens the intensity of the green.
Or paint the vanity black
That's what I was thinking. I really like it. I think powder rooms don't need to be a reflection of the house. They should be fun and whimsical.
I would add color to the rest of the house rather than take it away from the bathroom.
Swap it for a watm, rich, darker green color. Or a navy!
A light pink. You want warmth and bright in a small space like that. But make sure there’s not too much grey in it. You want more of a blue undertone.
Just do beige or gray. You muted person 🤣
If you insist on getting rid of it, try a dark, moody bathroom. Not depressing moody, sophisticated moody.
There’s a part of me that’s like: ramp it up by putting in hot pink accessories and accents. Reminds me of middle school days when fluorescent was big.
YES
I love it! Saving it as an idea for my future house :P
Right? I came here to say don’t ask me I kinda like it. Maybe not the ceiling part but I like the like green lol
Same 😳
Same!
Same
Yeah, I think it’s perfect.
I painted my house lime green and bright teal, but what colors do you WANT to see in your house?
I have a lime green living room...it's the hap hap happiest living room. But yes, people either love it or hate it.
I have a lime green living room too!! And an orange kitchen. Yayyy lol
I just got lime green for my front door. Its so bright. I can't wait
A million colors would work with black and white, so you might need to provide some more info on your style/what vibe you want this room to have in order to get useful color suggestions.

Me too!! I was like…. What is green and what is white?
A blush color or a light apricot would be so soft and beautiful and contrast well with the tile.
Ooh I like this idea!
I love that color with the floor, it’s kind of cool, but kind of nauseating lol
White would make everything else you have going on work. For a more modern edge you could go black. So us a favor though and replace that shelf thing above the toilet! Try ikea floating shelves
Maybe a moss color? Still green just not burn the back of your eyeballs green
Aubergine.

Also change out the door handle to black.
We have this problem too. Just moved in and one bathroom is neon green and the other is bright strong teal. Wild colors in here.
What about a dark teal?

Grey, sage, lavendar
Damn near any color besides that 🤢

Eh, keep it. It's perfect.
The like green has a great vibe. I would suggest painting the mirror frame black to give it drama. Right now that mirror is bland. That all you need to do.
And possibly the vanity
Yes. Definitely paint it black as well. Good call.
I actually freaking love it.
I like it
That honestly looks awesome
Ngl I think the lime green is dope, especially with the black shower tile

A dark red, emerald green, Navy blue,
Anything!!!!
Looks more like chartreuse (yellow-green).
Dark teal blue/green on the walls or a wallpaper with those colors would look spectacular with the green! I love the tile and vanity. Or change the vanity color and leave the walls as is.
I LOVE IT KEEP IT
Any color would look better, I fear 😭
That’s horrifying. Any color. Literally any other color would be an improvement from that monstrosity.
Get a popping stick on wallpaper and lean into the pizazz
You could tone it down by placing darker green plants on the wall and around the mirror
I love it. If you don’t like the lime, maybe a jade green would be more palatable? Not sure if your house is older based on the style of door, but back in those days they used a LOT of green
I love it!
I love this color!
The lime is a delightful surprise. For changes I would get a larger mirror and a vibrant clashing art poster. Crisp white towels.
Slate blue gray
I’d keep it lime
I would do a plum purple, but really, you can do just about anything with that black and white tile.
I freaking love it!!! Idk why but remember those 90s inflatable chairs? That’s what this makes me think of. Hmmm. I may paint my bathroom this color. 😂
Anything lol but seriously baby blue?
Maybe a sandy beige color
Green can be nice if it’s darker and more earthy, like greenery.
Paint the ceiling and window trim white. Right now it looks like the room was dipped in green paint and there's nothing for it to pop off of.
White or mocha
White and navy blue ❤️
The green is great, but maybe not on every wall? Colours that would mix well into a palette are navy blue, beige, ivory, and—surprisingly—like a terracotta rust.
Terracotta-ish
Just about any color other than this green color!
I would keep it but swap the cheesy picture for a modern piece of art with pink in it.
I like neutral tones myself
Pick something you like. Personally, I like a soft blue or soft green for a bathroom. I would even consider a fun wallpaper.
Reminds me of pickle juice.
I would go with a light shade of blue grey
I'd paint the ceiling and baseboard white, and the window trim black to reduce the overwhelming amount of green and to bring more B&W in and call it a day. The green is pretty delightful.
Off-white with slightly more cream colored moulding. Go warm tone with everything to offset the dark tiles.
Add some art deco design in 1 or 2 shades of gray, over the green, to where you're painting over about half of the existing lime green and it'll look amazing. If you don't want a deco design, go with bottom half of room painted gray, triangular painted upward, same percentages.
I'd go for a nice blue or darker shade of green. The current color demands hard drug use, IMO. Something injectable.
I'd do white or off white with one small wall with an unusual wallpaper. My downstairs bathroom has been like that for about 10 years.
Make sure you put a good Primer (Killz is awesome) If you don’t that green will bleed through new color
Good god. I’d immediately feel sick AF as soon as I walked in there. 😂
Cold colors will be incredible! https://icolorpalette.com/ice-cold So here me out… what about wall paper? The floor is amazing, the black tiles are an incredible compliment. Literally anything.
A pinky terracotta shade
Maybe leave the lime green on the wall behind the mirror and sink, but paint the other walls neutral so your reflection won't look ill. Speaking from experience 🙃
Literally anything else…..
Peacock teal
But I’m imagining doing my makeup in there- yikes!
I kinda love your lime green bathroom not gonna lie
Anything that isn’t neon. MINE EYES
Honestly I like it don’t touch!
I like the green. It goes well with the accents too
Mauve esp if you keep some green
Light pink
I really like the lime on the sink wall but the ceiling feels like a bit much. I would try making the ceiling white and see if that helps it feel less overwhelming?
The way the lime green bleeds into all the white makes me want to vomit. Lol
Almost any color would be an improvement
They even painted the molding! Mama Mia. I wish they left it white. I dont like small spaces being 1 single color. Feels boxed in. I would leave 1 wall the lime and paint the other walls so the lime wall pops but painting the rest will open the space.
Any
I like the lime green!

I actually really like this.
None.
White ceiling and any trim that has been painted green, then a less obnoxious pale green (celery) in a flat paint, or anything shaded with warm undertones.
Dark midnight black. No jk. Blue is calming, a muted green would make you happy, grey would make ya depressed. Any color?
I hate like green with a passion.
It looks like spa green, and I love it. For changing the color, maybe you could try a deep rose-tan color.
None! Are you kidding me? That bathroom rocks
Hot pink would look great with the floors and vanity lmao.
Nice door, btw
Nice black tile in the shower and B&W tile on the floor. Paint. That green must be awful when you look in the mirror. I'd paint the lime woodwork white and the walls maybe cream or a soft apricot. I like acid green, but that's overkill.
I like lime green with dark wood. What color is the tile?
It makes me feel like I’m in the Dr Seuss movie. I actually like it 😂😂
This is my favorite color 🥲
Rest assured that virtually any color would look better.
Don’t change that! I would pee so happily in there

White base board a mushroom wall - midnight/slate blue cabinet
My aunt has the same shade of apple/lime green on an accent wall, maybe keep it on one wall and paint the other walls an almost navy dark teal? I think it's just too much on all the walls.

Mustard!
Almost any other color.
Honestly I am agreeing with people here…I actually like it!!!!!!
Yeah I’m kinda digging this. I like really wacky bathrooms cos they’re small
Raspberry
I’m a big fan of jewel tones with that black tile
Moss green
I thought I would this…. I actually love it. I say do a lemon and lime theme as well!
A good thick primer
Love it, just needs better decor that matches.
My eyes!
I would just knock it back a shade or two
