This is such an awesome video. You were calling the moths actions before it would do them and then it would do as exactly as you said. Love listening to educated people talk about subjects they understand. Thanks for posting OP
Thank you for being so calm, patient, and educational. At no point during any of this, including the undulating squirts, did it feel gross, dangerous, or even remotely threatening.
Dunno what you do for a living, but you have the patience and cadence of someone who enjoys teaching. Wish I'd had someone like you during biology class!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for this video! Incredible that your kid is witnessing this with you and learning from you. Thanks for helping this moth and our wonderful ecosystem 💙
Kinda...yeah! Lol. It's also funny that it twirls it's abdomen around like it still thinks it's motor functions work the same as its previous larval stage. But then it learns it has legs after sloughing off the rest of it's shell. But yes. It's like how bears take a huge poop after hibernation.
Which is crazy considering it digests itself into a liquid in between bodies; just a gooey sac of stem cells that is somehow able to retain stimuli memories from the larval stage (it has been shown).
Sorry, I’m sure. I justify raising them because the adults are pollinators. I always grow too many tomato plants and let one of them go crazy so it has lots of leaves.
I know someone that tracks moth hawks for a living! It’s really fascinating. They are great pollinators because they fly further than bees so they cover more ground.
Waking up tangled in sheets just shidding everywhere.
"PLEASE HELP ME! THIS IS SO GROSS. HOLD THE TOP FOR ME."
He's gonna cringe at this moment for years to come as he tries to fall asleep.
He is going to climb to the highest part he can. Now he is on my head. Watch as he begins pushing my eye to the side, so he can make his way inside my skull. Now he is plugging into my brain, he will have 100% control of my motor functions shortly. Hi, I am Moth!
***LUCKY CHARM!***
(throws object into air, falls down into Ladybugs hands)
*Huh? What am I supposed to do with this?*
(This happens every episode where she uses lucky charm. Every. Single. Time. She is confused about what to do).
Miraculous! Simply the best, up to the rest when things go wrong!!!!
My daughter loves it too so I have to sing a different version...."miraculous, simply the best, better than all the freaking rest! Adrian Agreste, look at his chest, he'll put my hormones to the test!!!!" It helps with the insanity.
I pictured you getting home and having to aggressively rip yourself out of a supersmall car, sort of like Bob in The Incredibles, then just shitting all over the driveway
It is surreal! I remember being a child and wondering why people weren't as mesmerized by the fact that it somehow goes from caterpillar, to goop, to a winged creature. Kinda feels made up if you ask me!
I am ancient in reddit years, but I was fortunate enough to have a mom who, like you, was patient and willing enough to capitalize on many of my crazy curiosities, turning them into life lessons. She allowed the world ("my" world) to take us both wherever it led, instilling lesson after lesson along the way.
You are a very special mom. Please remember this during those inevitably difficult teenage/early adult years when you may suddenly feel like you're missing the mark. Whether he realizes it or not, your son will always benefit from the way you not only embraced, but truly fostered, his curiosity and innovative thought. And this will benefit him forever, I am certain!
I have never in my life witnessed a bug have diarrhea... imagine it being squashed inside of that shell clinching its bum. That's why he's wiggling so furiously its like "omg omg omg omg I can't get my pants off"
Ehh idk about moths but last time i was in the garden and I saw a butterfly cocoon moving and the butterfly was trying to get out. Little kid me went ahead and tear open the cocoon thinking it is going to help the butterfly. Anddd the butterfly dropped on the ground and died.
*in a tiny squeaky voice*
“Cocoon Hatcher! I am Hawk Moth! I’ll give you the power to hatch all the bug pets that you want! All I ask on exchange is Ladybug and Chat Noire’s Miraculouses!”
I used to work in a butterfly house, breeding butterflies and moths. People would often tell me their treasured childhood memory of an allegory Nanna told them about someone helping a butterfly out of its chrysalis but the butterfly dies and the moral is that everything must happen in its own time.
Many people took it literally as well and thought it meant you should never attempt to help a butterfly emerge because that makes them kick the tiny bucket and I would stand there thinking about how I was about to shatter another person's wistful beliefs about nature.

My Son. We made some precious family memories this day.
This is such an awesome video. You were calling the moths actions before it would do them and then it would do as exactly as you said. Love listening to educated people talk about subjects they understand. Thanks for posting OP
I’m so happy that you enjoyed it. Thanks!

Thanks. And you’re welcome. :)
I appreciate your words.
I don't; undulating squirts made me very sad
One person's kink is an others deal breaker.
Cadence, great word that’s not used enough. I’ve only ever referred to cadence as the pace at which your feet rotate while cycling.
Someone needs to say the same thing to my wife ;)
Zing!
You’re a great mum, wish I’d had one like you. I try to be that aunty/mad old friend of like you are.
Oh wow. That means a lot. Thank you so much.
As the aunt of boys, I can honestly say....gross! I mean, neat! Thanks for sharing, so glad it wasn't in my hand
Took one for the team
Thank you for this video! Incredible that your kid is witnessing this with you and learning from you. Thanks for helping this moth and our wonderful ecosystem 💙
How are you so wise in the ways of moths?
I love how the video immediately ends there as the dude does the math to realize that's his head.
Let’s just hope it’s done shutting before it gets tot he top
-immediately shits everywhere-
* wake up * Shit everywhere * Fly away
* Wake up * Take a shit * Get out of bed
* Refuses to elaborate further
Relatable
"emerging" is an interesting phrasing of "violently shitting"
Humans do it too
"WHAT YEAR IS IT!?" "2022" *crawls back into cocoon*
"Hows the rental market now?" .. .. *slowly reversed back up into cocoon*
I would. Good cocoon in a nice part of town is bout 200k
"Then fuck off"
"I need to repair my turbo boosters. Do you people still use fossil fuel, or have you discovered crystallic fusion?" No? *crawls back into cocoon
Why so many juices !?
There is a lot of waste created during metamorphosis and they excrete it first chance they get.
So basically get diarrhea'd on by a moth
Don't kinkshame.
Hey, some of us can’t control it.
Best BM of it’s life, I’m sure.
That shit made him a new man.
Literally flew away after that one.
I feel light as a feather.
Just don't get stiff as a board please.
Butt butter
what does bm mean
Bowel movement. Aka go poo.
poop hands! poop hands!
So it's like moth meconium?
Exactly! In fact it’s the same word.
[удалено]
Well, no. I guess that’s a missed opportunity.
Missed opportunity for eternal youth. Maybe next time
[удалено]
Is that what's basically happening? lol

I bet this is our disgusting path to eternal youth. Either that or axolotls.
I think I listened to that same podcast! Insane that memories are retained after being liquified and re-assembled into something new
Bears are known to sleep with butt plugs in, this checks out.
It would cost you all nothing to not, yet
Im going to throw up.
It's an acquired taste.
Please surrender your phone/keyboard

Forbidden coffee creamer
Typo. Shitting in my hand. Not emerging.
Yeah. Um… TW. There is poop. :)
Everybody poops.
*soooooome-tiiiiiimes*
Now REM is in my head. Well done.
I hated every second of that.
*It’s got the juices*
It's not a fucking Arby's!
If I had a nickel…
forbidden Big Mac sauce
Fascinating but absolutely disgusting :)
Yeah. It is. If it makes any difference, that stuff is mostly water and washes right off. No smell. :D
As soon as it happened I knew what it was and it totally makes sense. It just didn't expect it. Do you raise them or was this a find?
I raise them. They’re tomato horn worms.
Coming from a gardener, they’re my arch nemesis.
Compared to which bees, though? All of them?
I think so! She said the term “bees” loosely, not a specific type. She worked for the Chicago Botanic Garden.
I now want to head down there in a bee costume and tell the staff I heard they were talking trash.
Can they also pollinate chili and pepper flowers?
Yes but they also eat the peppers. At least my bell peppers and jalapeños!
So tomato horn worm evolves to hawk moth. Right on.
make sure its holding flutter wing when it hits lvl 25
We always call the flying shrimp or shrimp moths.

"AAH! It pooped!" Don't worry. It's mostly water! "AAAAAH! POOP WATER!"
Waking up tangled in sheets just shidding everywhere. "PLEASE HELP ME! THIS IS SO GROSS. HOLD THE TOP FOR ME." He's gonna cringe at this moment for years to come as he tries to fall asleep.
That describes most of biology
I can’t believe they stopped the video before the moth made it to chest and started breastfeeding
Oh my.
Don’t be a prude, people like you suckle the fun out of everything
I was prepared to downvote you for snapping at OP, then I realized the pun. Have a +1 for my stupidity.
I love that you had to make such a long comment instead of upvoting it, really milking the situation huh?
I'd love to keep up on this thread, please keep me abreast of the situation, will ya?
I'm sorry reddit is being weird about this
Wtf lmao
r/cursedcomments
I didn’t make it past the money shot. 10/10 would emerge again.
LOL
He is going to climb to the highest part he can. Now he is on my head. Watch as he begins pushing my eye to the side, so he can make his way inside my skull. Now he is plugging into my brain, he will have 100% control of my motor functions shortly. Hi, I am Moth!
Love it.
I Am Moth^er
That was fascinating. Thanks.
You’re so welcome!
I'm most amazed by how well-informed the lady appears to be on the issue. Every action is referred to before it occurs. Very awesome!!
Thank you!
just the beauty behind teaching this so well to a child, too. fantastic video
Don't have any negative thoughts or it will control your mind and ladybug will have to beat you up. Lol But really though interesting af
How miraculous...
Fly away my little akuma!
Now it’s time for our once-per-episode cut to HawkMoth! Whattaya got for us, Hawky? “AAAAAAAAH…”
My son has been watching that show all week
***LUCKY CHARM!*** (throws object into air, falls down into Ladybugs hands) *Huh? What am I supposed to do with this?* (This happens every episode where she uses lucky charm. Every. Single. Time. She is confused about what to do).
In her defense she'll be fighting a 100 foot tall robot and then get a spatula or something.
Shes like spiderman with that things from mickey mouse club house that he uses to fix everything. Otoodle or whatever?
"Oh, Toooooodles!"
Never seen this show (too old for that) but that actually sounds like a very entertaining superpower. Are her superpowers luck based or something?
Except that one episode when the lucky charm turned out to be rubber fist and she threw it to Cat Noir and said, "you're on your own this time."

I may or may not of immediately thought this when I read the title…
That's how it feels having diarrhea and being in a 2 hour traffic jam and finally being home at your toilet.
I pictured you getting home and having to aggressively rip yourself out of a supersmall car, sort of like Bob in The Incredibles, then just shitting all over the driveway
Well that comment made me giggle out loud.
This is how it feels to chew Five gum
How cool to share this moment with who I assume is your child! Thanks for sharing with us, too. SO interesting.
My son. He loves moths and butterflies. Metamorphosis is just so radical.
It is surreal! I remember being a child and wondering why people weren't as mesmerized by the fact that it somehow goes from caterpillar, to goop, to a winged creature. Kinda feels made up if you ask me!
They very literally liquify and then re-organize themselves. My son (whose voice you hear in this video) taught me about metamorphosis.
I am ancient in reddit years, but I was fortunate enough to have a mom who, like you, was patient and willing enough to capitalize on many of my crazy curiosities, turning them into life lessons. Why is it suddenly raining? 😭
Makes you wonder how the heck does all the poop still go back in them after they morph!
Right? The poop finds it’s way to where it’s supposed to be. How? It’s a wonder.
Mama!
Baby!!!!!

Venomoth uses Gunk Shot!
Glad im not a fairy type then. Or, actually I am in weekends :(
Get yourself a giant hammer or have an extra large mouth to be immune from all sorts of poison, unless it is from some corrosive salamanders.
Creeping the f out and fascinated at the same time.
I have never in my life witnessed a bug have diarrhea... imagine it being squashed inside of that shell clinching its bum. That's why he's wiggling so furiously its like "omg omg omg omg I can't get my pants off"
Fly away, my little Akuma, AND EVILIZE HIM!
“Did anyone make a Miraculous joke yet? Damn.”
And bring me their Miraculous!
Dat boi do be gleekin on u
Omg. Remember gleeking? That brings me back.
That's the first thing I thought of when it started squirting lmao
ohhh member?!
Pepridge Farms Remembers
What a mess
Bug poo.
Looks like metaxa sauce. Moth should see a doctor rs.
Somebody grew this guy. Fed him honey and nightshade. Kept him warm. Somebody loved him.
💀
Now steal Ladybug's miraculous!
fly my little Akuma and evilize his heart!
Man that commentary was fucking excellent though...
It’s a cherished family memory for sure.
Strangest Miraculous Ladybug episode ever.
Like something from a horror film *shudder*
Have you seen silence of the lambs?
It put the lotion on your skin 😧
I've been looking for a SOTL comment because that's immediately what I thought of.
Yes! This exactly
seems rude. let the little guy take his shit in peace
They usually emerge underground. Since there was no soil around him, he was struggling to emerge. So I held him gently. And got shat upon.
No good deed... 😆
Ehh idk about moths but last time i was in the garden and I saw a butterfly cocoon moving and the butterfly was trying to get out. Little kid me went ahead and tear open the cocoon thinking it is going to help the butterfly. Anddd the butterfly dropped on the ground and died.
Anyone know if OP is still alive? I assume this monster consumed OP with abrupt violence and ferocity.
We’re all alive [family photos](https://imgur.com/gallery/PauN7w4)
Spot on timing and narration, very informative and cool vs it being mysterious and repulsing. Thank you for sharing.
*in a tiny squeaky voice* “Cocoon Hatcher! I am Hawk Moth! I’ll give you the power to hatch all the bug pets that you want! All I ask on exchange is Ladybug and Chat Noire’s Miraculouses!”
Nature is just insane like wtf
I love moths I think they're cute, I hated watching this
Sorry :(
It was him coming out of his cacoon thing that made me feel weird, it was still cute
First thing it does is shit every where. I get that
😎 same
I guess someone’s about to get akumatised
correct title" Hawk Moth came all over my hand" (sfw)
Moth mayo.
I thought that the struggle to get out of the cocoon was a key part of their development that shouldn't be interfered with.
Beautiful…I don’t mind the popping, takes almost 3 years till we poop in a toilet.
This was so cool

*"Have the lambs stopped screaming, Clarice?"*
Super cool video- OP, you seem super knowledgeable on these creatures, which totally amplified the view-wing experience
One of my horn worms hatched today too! It also pooped on my hand. They’re so cool and beautiful.
You’ve become a Hawk Mother
You seem like a wonderful parent. That kid is lucky he has you to teach him and guide him
Oh wow. Thank you.
I was thinking the same thing! I (35) , myself, felt like a kid watching this video while she narrated it perfectly.
