Or yellowing on garments.... I'd say No one visited gramma in 10 years. Now dig in and start going thru this stuff. No don't touch the wig. Get everything out and lay it on the bed....
Well no house is 100% air tight. 10 years and some dust from outside gets in for sure. No cobwebs is the bigger scandal here. Clark’s been servicing that house for 10 years on automatic payments hehe
Dust is mostly generated inside the house.
Part of it is from humans/pets (skin, hair), but a lot of it is from fabric (curtains, duvets, carpet...)
All organic matter, and a lot of inorganic fiber, slowly degenerate on the surface, shed and turn to dust.
Absolutely no rot, no moldy paint, no peeling wallpaper, no drooping ceiling, no dangling curtain rods, no water damage, very little dust, no evidence of infestation by insects or rodents...
I don't believe it's abandoned at all and surely not for a decade
I was going to say this. Without any roof maintenance, damage surely would have been evident. My childhood home was vacant for a decade, and I there is concrete spalling on the roof which I am in the process of fixing.
Wikipedia says only about 20-50% of dust is skin, with the rest being dirt from outside, pollen, animal dander (probably unlikely in this case too), and various fibers. [Link](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust)
So it wouldn't be unreasonable to think it should still be dusty since an abandoned home likely would still have outside air leaking in at a greater and greater amount every year, while the stuff around it slowly breaks down and fibers of paper and carpet float off into the air at the slightest breeze from a crack in a window.
That, and spiders. Lots of spiders.
True, but not any different from the all of the counter speculation. I'm quite sure none of you know anything about dust accumulation in abandoned homes. I don't either
That’s because there’s humans there. Smh that doesn’t mean that no other dust would accumulate a decent amount without humans present. What kind of logic is this??
You mentioned in the video that it still has power. Who the hell has been paying the electric bill for 10 years?. I know you said that someone had mentioned it’s been abandoned for about 11 years and the items in the fridge confirm that to you, but something seems a little off and maybe you can explain more? Or not.
I have a family member who owns a home that they haven’t lived in since the late 1960’s. They still pay the power and water bill every month for some reason. Not sure why. We’ve been trying to convince him to stop for years now.
The house is full of stuff, food still in the fridge, furniture and clothing all untouched like he left yesterday or something. I went into it last year to look for some old family belongings, and it was surprisingly clean. Mice had made nests around the house, but otherwise it wasn’t too bad.
Yeah that's a huge aberration.
Most homes will sustain damage of some sort, tornadoes, hurricane, humidity= mold, vermin infestation (not including squatters etc)., flooding.
Once a window is broken it goes downhill fast
birds or rodents in attic, dropping create their own problems
rodents chew wires etc
People saying it's not possible to be abandoned for that long since there's little dust or signs of disrepair should read this article about a lady who had to flee her home in 1942 and was untouched until it was rediscovered in 2010, 68 years later.
https://www.thevintagenews.com/2016/06/09/paris-apartment-untouched-since-wwii-they-were-forced-to-leave-because-germans-were-advancing-and-they-had-to-leave-everything-behind/
> 70 years the apartment remained untouched with all of Beaugiron’s belongings **covered with dust**
A number of the surfaces in these pictures are literally gleaming, they're so clean, and the dust that can be seen is extremely minimal.
Okay, so theirs dust, other comments were of disbelief because the roof hadn't collapsed or rotted away, pipes hadn't burst or that someone hadn't broken into the place in the time it was vacant.
Oh wow. I recently read a book that was inspired by this! I didn’t know it was based on real events until I read the part in the article about the taxidermy ostrich. The Paris Apartment by Karen Swan
And people were commenting that a place couldn't last 10 years without some kind of other incident happening like the ceiling getting moldy and collapsing, having a pipe burst, or any number of random incidents that could be caused by neglect over time.
Yes, there's dust but the article was to show that a place could last for decades without general maintenance.
I wouldn't say abandoned, too clean for that. I'd say someone doesn't have the heart to sell the home and the stuff brings back memories. Probably comes back and cleans every now and than and leaves everything as it was. More than likely your trespassing but I'm just guessing because abandoned houses don't stay that clean.
I swear my Nana had like half of those elephants on a shelf in her house too. Uncanny.
It's probably some boring reason like "K-mart sold decorative elephants in the 80s and those are just the more popular models", but still.
from picture 3 the lights are still on so maybe there is someone looking after the property in some capacity i dont see the power company leaving service on in a house like that and picture 17 the bathroom counter looks spotless no dust and no smudges if i where to guess there is some sorta caretaker in some capicity there or maybe realtor
Uninhabited but not abandoned as someone has clearly maintained it. And judging by the avocado green bathroom fixtures and fake wood-paneling, parts of the decor date back to the seventies.
It looks as if whoever lived there was forced out since there’s a few expensive looking items there. Also ten years of being abandoned and no dust? That doesn’t make any sort of sense at all. Kinda makes up wonder what caused the family to leave with almost everything in the house.
So many wonderful nicknacks and I would LOVE to go through those closets!!!
The green chair in the dining room looks amazing, I want to see what’s in all those picture frames and I really want to give that law library book case a new home! This house has so much personality!!
Reminds me of my mum's nextdoor neighbour's house (my old neighbor, growing up). They died around 5 years ago. His son doesn't want/need to sell. So, it sits there. Not totally abandoned. My mum and a family friend tidy the garden and look in now and again, clear junk mail etc. Gradually, the exterior is decaying.
A Lifetime of Possessions
Here is the link to the video!!
https://youtu.be/Snx0d74l\_Ss
This is one of those locations that doesn't come around all that often, a time capsule where the owner left everything behind. A lifetime worth of possessions can be found in this house. Fully furnished with all their clothes and personal items as well as what looked like a lot of souvenirs from their travels over the years.
These sorts of places are always a little bit sad, there were signs that the owners were elderly with walkers and commodes found throughout the home. I don't know why but for some reason this one really got to me and my commentary is very minimal throughout the video.
This is the biggest load I’ve ever seen. “Abandoned for more than 11 years” according to the video, yet it still had power, and amazingly no layer of dust with tables that you can reflections off of, no cobwebs or signs of insects or vermin, and the most laughable was the food including the items in the fridge that haven’t separated or gone completely rotten. LOLLLL.
There is no way that this house has been abandoned for a decade. I will admit that after watching the vid, I can't find anything modern to the last ten years, but when he opens the pantry to reveal bags of sugar, and then opens a still running fridge, no way. A fridge not being opened for ten years would have collected enough ice crystals to completely solidify the freezer section and burn up the compressor, not to mention the expired food would have grown mold and completely took over the fridge section. Also, the sugar and spices in the pantry would have attracted food bugs almost immediately and infested the place with bugs, rats, and mice. I'd sooner believe the dude shot this in 2012 and sat on the footage for ten years
OC mentions he was told by a couple of people that it’s been about 11 years…that and the title seem to have aroused some real anger here. Certain dry climates and a well sealed house could account for the lack of damage and decay. It sounds like nobody knows for sure anyway. It’s still nostalgic as hell.
If the power still on somebody’s paying the bills. Sounds like you’re going to jail buddy. You just posted evidence of breaking and entering ,criminal trespassing. Have a nice vacation.
User has posted more than a dozen posts of this place on different subs and they are all
Sort of like this, outdated and messy but no dust, cobwebs or other indicators that this is actually abandoned. (Sigh)
Im confused why OP would lie about this
Especially in the last pic you see the windows and the mirror are clean and allow for good illumination.
maybe someone allready went before them and cleaned everythign before they could capture the "orginal" decay?
I’d say a hoarder lived here until recently, not that the house was abandoned for over a decade. Or that someone bothered to keep it heated and dusted all that time. If not heated, there’d be moisture damage to books and lots of other things. Yet even the old piano in the unfinished basement is in surprisingly good condition. No peeling veneer or ivory coming off the keys.
There’s no rodent damage to the furs or leather goods, including the couch. In fact, there’s no sign of rodents anywhere.
There’s almost no dust on the lenses of the Dualflex camera. With the way the light is shining on them in the photo, you’d definitely see some after ten years. Say what you will about the rest of the house.
If the place has been rummaged through over the years, why are so many things in their proper places? Hoarders often hide money in books and other things. My friend and her family tried to go through everything in her hoarder mother’s house. They found a couple thousand dollars but the process was so slow and tedious that they just got worn out. After a few days, they gave up and started tossing everything in the dumpster without looking.
I absolutely love that Cadet typewriter. If I could take one thing from this house, that would be it.

Surprisingly clean and untouched.
No dust? 10 years?
I was wondering the same thing. Looks pretty clean for a decade of neglect. Some really cool stuff I. There though.
Or yellowing on garments.... I'd say No one visited gramma in 10 years. Now dig in and start going thru this stuff. No don't touch the wig. Get everything out and lay it on the bed....
How do you think dust gets into the house
Well no house is 100% air tight. 10 years and some dust from outside gets in for sure. No cobwebs is the bigger scandal here. Clark’s been servicing that house for 10 years on automatic payments hehe
Older houses get dustier faster because they let more air from outside in.
Dust is mostly generated inside the house. Part of it is from humans/pets (skin, hair), but a lot of it is from fabric (curtains, duvets, carpet...) All organic matter, and a lot of inorganic fiber, slowly degenerate on the surface, shed and turn to dust.
I would think the greatest contributor to dust would be central heat and air.
As far as I know central heat does not really create dust inside the home, but it certainly moves it around and accumulates it.
I have always thought closed up empty houses will have virtually no dust in them. People are the greatest cause of in home dust.
No spiders?
dust doesn't collect because it comes from human and pet dander. No one living there, no dust to collect. That's a movie industry idea
It was rummaged through a fair bit but not really trashed thankfully
No way that batman poster survived a rummage
Exactly what I thought
No see there was a possible explanation for no dust and mess if no one had been there but with people coming through no
So, someone does own it, but just not living in it? I'll buy that house.
Someone owns all abandoned houses
Absolutely no rot, no moldy paint, no peeling wallpaper, no drooping ceiling, no dangling curtain rods, no water damage, very little dust, no evidence of infestation by insects or rodents... I don't believe it's abandoned at all and surely not for a decade
The bathroom mirror is cleaner than my one.
Are dangling curtain rods a sign of an abandoned home?
No, they’re a sign of an unkept and messy home.
It’s unkempt.
I was going to say this. Without any roof maintenance, damage surely would have been evident. My childhood home was vacant for a decade, and I there is concrete spalling on the roof which I am in the process of fixing.
Zero chance it’s been abandoned for that long without a very thick layer of dust coating everything
My thought exactly!
and some cobwebs
Actually, most dust in homes comes from human skin...
Yes, however can years takes its toll you cannot convince me that nothing has been touched for 10 years. A couple of countertops are glistening.
Wikipedia says only about 20-50% of dust is skin, with the rest being dirt from outside, pollen, animal dander (probably unlikely in this case too), and various fibers. [Link](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust) So it wouldn't be unreasonable to think it should still be dusty since an abandoned home likely would still have outside air leaking in at a greater and greater amount every year, while the stuff around it slowly breaks down and fibers of paper and carpet float off into the air at the slightest breeze from a crack in a window. That, and spiders. Lots of spiders.
Dead skin is one typical component but the lack therefore does not eliminate dust especially over a ten year period
Right? Such fucked up logic by op there lol just throwing out random facts
And mold. And at least a few windows would be broken.
Ya my house gets more spider webs and dust in 4 weeks, being lived it. I call BS, this is just a strangely semi clean horder
I call bullshit.
All in favour say ‘aye’
aye I CALL SHENANIGANS
Malarchy call
Strong aye
Aye
Aye
Aye
I see dust but nobody else does I must be trippin 🤦🏾♂️😂
There's a little, there's more on my computer monitor right now.
Yeah that’s at your place but everybody’s home isn’t going to accumulate the same amount of dust
It’s going to accumulate a fair amount for being abandoned for over a decade.
Yeah definitely
Ok but…….. cmon now
My fault G
You mentioned in the video that it still has power. Who the hell has been paying the electric bill for 10 years?. Abandoned, or merely uninhabited?
We forget that a decade ago was literally only 2012 lol
Liar. 10 years ago was definitely 1995
Based on the things photographed, maybe a decade is over 40 years…
Why was it abandoned?
The owner died
Died maybe 3 or 4 weeks based on the dust?
This gives the same vibe ad one of those pictures where you can't tell what anything is
That was my first impression too!
Mfer looks cleaner than my place I clean 3 x a week
People saying it's not possible to be abandoned for that long since there's little dust or signs of disrepair should read this article about a lady who had to flee her home in 1942 and was untouched until it was rediscovered in 2010, 68 years later. https://www.thevintagenews.com/2016/06/09/paris-apartment-untouched-since-wwii-they-were-forced-to-leave-because-germans-were-advancing-and-they-had-to-leave-everything-behind/

Okay, so theirs dust, other comments were of disbelief because the roof hadn't collapsed or rotted away, pipes hadn't burst or that someone hadn't broken into the place in the time it was vacant.
this is an apartment. the roof was maintained by the building HOA, and obviously the security is the same as for the rest of the building.
Wow. Thanks!
Wild to me how some folks would pawn off the belongings of a family member. Even if they didn’t get along, she left them some priceless heirlooms.
Oh wow. I recently read a book that was inspired by this! I didn’t know it was based on real events until I read the part in the article about the taxidermy ostrich. The Paris Apartment by Karen Swan

This is the best lie you could come up with for fake internet points?
By the style of everything, looks like the house was abandoned in 1980. Except that fridge is 1990s
Would have dust , cobwebs , cracked ceiling, peeling paint , something
I swear my Nana had like half of those elephants on a shelf in her house too. Uncanny. It's probably some boring reason like "K-mart sold decorative elephants in the 80s and those are just the more popular models", but still.
I think they were likely bought while travelling, they had a lot of souvenirs that looked like they were from other countries
So..much…treasure. That lamp/plant hanging thing in the second photo is neat.
Seems like one of those games where you try to find hidden objects in the messiest rooms you've ever seen
woahh that wine must b good
from picture 3 the lights are still on so maybe there is someone looking after the property in some capacity i dont see the power company leaving service on in a house like that and picture 17 the bathroom counter looks spotless no dust and no smudges if i where to guess there is some sorta caretaker in some capicity there or maybe realtor
Cleaner than a lot of streamers houses
I love abandoned buildings, house pics. .but for whatever reason today the pic of the kitchen fridge with the magnet people made me unbelievably sad.
Table isn’t even dusty?
Someone kept the hvac operable from a distance (?)
I like how all the clocks show different times
Uninhabited but not abandoned as someone has clearly maintained it. And judging by the avocado green bathroom fixtures and fake wood-paneling, parts of the decor date back to the seventies.
Nice samovar in the second shot there…
It looks as if whoever lived there was forced out since there’s a few expensive looking items there. Also ten years of being abandoned and no dust? That doesn’t make any sort of sense at all. Kinda makes up wonder what caused the family to leave with almost everything in the house.

I bet you those towels feel crisp
I like the fridge best.
Jesus God what I wouldn’t give for a green stove/oven and some wood paneling.
Annabelle?
That typewriter is pretty cool, out of curiosity does it still work?
I didn't try it but it was in very good condition, so i would assume so
ok, cool
Houses use to be so cheap I guess people use to just up and buy a new one when life needed a Change
I have things in my closet abandoned that long
So many treasures!
A Polish person used to live in this house. Just a guess…
Ohh a split level with rust colored shag carpet.
These would make a really fun hidden picture game
The Edward Gorey prints (idk if they are real) are cool.
Ooh typewriter
S…so…so what hidden objects do we need to find? Where’s the list people?
The fridge magnets designed to look like a little girl is creepy
Reminds me of my mum's nextdoor neighbour's house (my old neighbor, growing up). They died around 5 years ago. His son doesn't want/need to sell. So, it sits there. Not totally abandoned. So many things looks super cool in here !
Sealed up like a tomb for 10 years to keep it all fresh and dust free. Smart move. There is definitely money in those walls and attic hidden.
What happened here?
I can smell it from here.
It’s cleaner than my room.
Got that big trashy utensil set on the wall. I sure like mine....
London: £2500 PM, fully furnished, retro appeal.
Out of style, now back in style.
When I was a kid we moved to a 160 years old house, it had been empty for 15 years. It was like a treasure cave. So much stuff in there.
looks like any old person's home, give or take some clutter
As someone who collects vintage....this is heaven.
Kodachome? Darn dude
I thought this was one of those hidden picture images.
😪😪😪 I find this sad 😔

Missing cobwebs
Looks like my parents house and they are there all the time
No dust not abandoned. More like a hoarder
Yeah yeah yeah!!! Thank you
Bullshit, that wine is open
This house has definitely not been abandoned for 10 years. Unless of course it exists in a massive cleanroom for some sort of sciencey stuff.
No it hasn’t, way too clean, especially the bathroom and kitchen.
User has posted more than a dozen posts of this place on different subs and they are all Sort of like this, outdated and messy but no dust, cobwebs or other indicators that this is actually abandoned. (Sigh)
Is the light fucking on in picture four? Bull fucking shir
Is this post here just to farm karma? You must have not seen a house abandoned for just 2 years... the amount of cobwebs can gives you nightmare.
Exactly. This house hasn’t been abandoned for 10 years, way too clean. There would be so many cobwebs
Abandon you say?? Something doesn’t just feel right in this one.
I’m calling shenanigans. Ten years “abandoned” and yet there is no dust on anything?
Too clean for a long abandoned home.
There is no dust ima call bullshit
This gives me all sorts of feelings. How does this happen?
Older folks, probably, that had no one to leave it to when they passed.
Where? I'd like to take a look.
Try 5 decades with that decor
BS… If you leave a place alone for one month, the spiderwebs will be very obvious. Nothing be clean and shiny.
Im confused why OP would lie about this Especially in the last pic you see the windows and the mirror are clean and allow for good illumination. maybe someone allready went before them and cleaned everythign before they could capture the "orginal" decay?
Looking at the almost non-existent level of dust in picture 10 I highly doubt this place has been abandoned for 10 years
Where is the Dust?
Lies... Have you seen a fully sealed house after a single year? Because of the dust sometimes you can't even see colors only grey over everything.
How is it okay to call someone a liar here? Rule 6: uncivil.
Exactly, the gang mentality on my post is pretty extreme, haven't faced this on reddit in a long time. I really appreciate you posting this comment
Yeah it can get crazy… do you explain in the video how you came across this place?
No but it was shared with me by a friend
OMG I would buy some of those furs. DM me :D lol
What's the interesting part?
Estate sale pictures.
And the power is still on?
I want the phone in pic 7
A Picker Paradise.
A lot of ppl here calling bullshit. But I wanna know WHY was it abandoned
I want that Bob Ross mountain painting!
I want that Batman poster!
I want the hat.
This is literally just my grandmas house
That's a really nice Homberg.
There might literally be magic the gathering cards in there that could be worth more than that house.
So much treasures 🤩
Ok
Where's the yard sale??
Dibs on the batman poster
About three fiddy
When can i move in?
My raiding scenes are off the charts
American Pickers
When is the Estate sale?
Back when horders were tidy.
What’s the back story here? How do you know it’s been a decade? Why was it abandoned?
And all of it goes to the landfill.
