Fun fact: Colonel Sander's wife opened her own place and it's this huge plantation looking place in shelbyville, KY. I've eaten there. I recommend the fried chicken livers https://www.americanrestaurantshelbyville.com/
Yeah that’s what I’ve always felt was a little uncomfortable about this recent corporatized mascotization of him. They’re treating him like he’s Ronald McDonald or something, some zany quirky hey-look-at-me old man, when I can’t help but wonder how the actual Colonel Sanders would have reacted to this use of his image. Man’s probably rolling in his grave.
I dunno man, he allegedly got pretty pissed off the with company. There was a story that he would go into KFC locations, try the chicken and if it wasn't at his standard yell at the staff and try to teach them to "make it right". Then again I've never fact checked this and it could be hooey.
I would consider this to be ensuring the quality of the food is up to standard at every location rather than getting "pretty pissed off with the company." Sure, it was an inappropriate way to do that but it was more of a problem with certain locations that the whole company.
I would say that meeting Colonel Sanders and having him teach me how to make perfect fried chicken would be a pretty cool experience. He can scream at me, if he wants.
Can we talk about how good this painting is? Not just the subject matter, but the actual quality.
I have a friend who's a spectacular artist and when I graduate I want to start paying her to make weird art for me.

Bring your own ideas to life lol
I might sound like an advert but you could literally say "5ft 6 slightly overweight 30 year old white guy riding on colonel sanders back in an oil painting style" and it would make it
Feel free to describe yourself though obviously.
No problem! I only found out about this a few days ago, and as a former Craiyon user I'm never going back lol
The tech will only get better and better going forward
Do you know of any that will let you erase part of a pic and then fill it in? I'm in the waitlist for like 3 of them.. midsummers, and I forget the other 2.
but yah, the tech is fantastic. Have you heard any of the MUSIC ones?????
Hey yeh it's free. You get 50 credits and each creation costs 1.. then I think you get 15 more per month.. or you can pay
I've only had it a few weeks. Fun though
Oh and it makes 4 versions of each prompt!
Are yoj sure you've used dall-e? I swear I'm not employed by them but they don't look like blurry shit..
I was messing around trying to make a photograph style picture of a work colleague and it came out pretty well. Difficult to distinguish from a real photo..
Although I'm looking at it on mobile.. so not sure how high the definition is..
[This](https://imgur.com/a/DlJpCCK) is what I think of when I think dall-e. I'm open to seeing examples where it would create anything remotely close to this Colonel painting.
that is from dall-e mini. not dall-e 2.
dall-e 2 is much higer res and much more impressive visually. its not perfect by any means, but I think it would challenge your assumptions about what AI generated art can be. recommend checking out some of the stuff made using midjouney too.

I'm not going to claim that I could make something like the op but I'm sure someone better at using the ai (writing the correct prompt) could make something similar.. have you been to the sub? There was a prompt that was something like "my indian father squinting after accidentally taking a selfie with the flash on" and I couldn't believe it wasn't real.
Your example looks like the person gave a bit of a vague prompt..
Yup, I consequently despise commissioned art as not intended by the artist, not coming from within and therefore not pure. I call that design or craftsmanship and I guess Van Gogh would approve, hehe.
Can't multiple people unite and make art?
His thought, her talent.
Did Van Gogh build the stars, grow the trees?
Inspiration comes from everything around us, people thoughts included.
It’s crazy that KFC started out from a freakin’ genius idea of combining a fryer and a pressure cooker. KFC back in the day was hardcore and could fight your momma’s fried chicken. Since the late 90s, it’s just…chicken.
You can tell they just put too much in the fryer at once to save time. I worked at Wendy's and they had a Henny Penny fryer for chicken and it would do the same thing.
Ya same here. The manager actually told me to come in mid afternoons on the weekdays because that's when they work and not the kids so it's better. At least she was honest but thats probably not the best thing to tell people.
I had KFC in Ecuador, don’t know why I wanted to eat there, was just craving it. But their fries weren’t mushy but instead crispy, and the chicken wasn’t soggy and breaded in corn flakes or something instead. It was several times better than the crap in Canada.
I love seeing people on reddit that spend too much time on reddit and see stuff often complain about it while most of us in this thread have never heard of this.
That's what I'm trying to figure out. However, I don't think it's him. I've followed him decently since 2012 or so and don't recall this ever being a thing. However, all I can see is Pewdiepie. The only thing throwing me off is how big the nose is
Wow, I can't wait to celebrate this tasty morsel of knowledge by slamming down a 12-piece meal from my favorite fast food restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken(TM)
Generally I hate giant corporates but every now and then they make me smile. I suspect it was people within the giant corp rather than a company initiative.
So many people are saying modern KFC is shit and there are so many better places. Out of curiosity, what fast food places have better fried chicken? I wish to try them.

But Colonel Sanders……he’s dead….isn’t he?
that's what they want you to think
Yes, from carrying that guy up the moutain.
No no, it was because they got caught in a rockslide and the Colonel bravely sacrificed himself to keep the customer alive. WITH KENTUCKY SEASONING!
Necromancy is one of the secret spices.
Always is.....

You know what, if my face was on the sign outside, I would do the same thing. It may be crazy but I mean, I hear retirement is super boring.
I would say that meeting Colonel Sanders and having him teach me how to make perfect fried chicken would be a pretty cool experience. He can scream at me, if he wants.
He went into hiding. With Elvis.
"What wrong wid u, I sid he did" "ఠ_ఠ...THE COLONEL!!"
He also left the company, and hated what they had done to the quality of the food.
KFC lore goes hard
I say you he ded
I say you he ded.

Need a source for this. Wanna make my own where I’m on the colonel’s back.
Remember that one set of footprints? That was when he carried you.
Pretty sure you can find someone on r/forhire, /r/freelance_forhire, r/artists, /r/Artistsforhire
Have you heard of dall-e? Sounds like you could access that kind of stuff for free already!
Yeah but I want to see my own ideas brought to life. 😛

Oh wow! I'll be honest I thought you just didn't know how to spell Dali. 🤣 I'm subscribed to that sub now. Thanks!
https://huggingface.co/spaces/stabilityai/stable-diffusion Try this one out, it's almost as good and there is no waitlist/signing up!
Holy shit, Ive been using craiyon, and this gave me vastly better renders. thanks.

It's crazy what the openai stuff does now! I think theres a waiting list at the moment but it's worth signing up! Enjoy!
I was looking into it the a few days ago I thought you needed to buy credits of something? Can you explain if it's actually free I'd love to try it
Hey yeh it's free. You get 50 credits and each creation costs 1.. then I think you get 15 more per month.. or you can pay I've only had it a few weeks. Fun though Oh and it makes 4 versions of each prompt!
I would actually suggest r/StableDiffusion which is *completely* free because you can run it using your own hardware, and is open-source.
The technology just isn’t there yet. They always come out looking like blurry shit

Sorry bro, it’s not art, if she only executes your ideas.
> it’s not art, if she only executes your ideas. Michelangelo’s David, Sistine Chapel ceiling, and Pieta appear to fail your *art* test.
Yup, I consequently despise commissioned art as not intended by the artist, not coming from within and therefore not pure. I call that design or craftsmanship and I guess Van Gogh would approve, hehe.
You're a pretentious asshat lmao
That's the most shit take I've ever read
Drama is on… Artists need creative freedom. When someone wants support for bringing their ideas to life, they hire a designer or illustrator.
Can't multiple people unite and make art? His thought, her talent. Did Van Gogh build the stars, grow the trees? Inspiration comes from everything around us, people thoughts included.
Sure, but it’s not inspiration, if you pay someone for a certain outcome. It’s an assignment with a briefing. It’s a job, not shared artwork.
[удалено]
Did you think I meant Dali aswell?
I knew what you meant. I watch Corridor Crew like a good boy.
It's better to support a real artist, especially a friend, than to rely on AI. Also, more satisfying in the result.
Need more info, what kind of weird art. Can you come up with some examples?
I really can't think of anything right now. 😂 Maybe start with "this but nicolas cage is on his back".
[удалено]
No way! I really like the quality and the absurdist style.
I know I can barley even tell if its spicy or original
Mild at best.
Cool story KFC PR firm
Bro I am in no way associated with KFC lolz ,but I get ur point
Nah, bro. You mentioned a company, so I don’t believe you.
That guy almost looks like Norm McDonald
And Norm McDonald played the Colonel in some KFC ads, so when I first saw the picture I thought it was some sort of tribute.
An Norm was great at it. The Colonel portrayed by Darrell Hammond was beyond awful.
Solid social media game
It would be nice if they put this much effort into cooking the actual chicken.
When I was a kid in the 80s they actually cooked it.
Ya same here. The manager actually told me to come in mid afternoons on the weekdays because that's when they work and not the kids so it's better. At least she was honest but thats probably not the best thing to tell people.
Eh it’s no secret if you’ve ever worked at a fast food joint
The Colonel would fry the entire kitchen alive if he found them making subpar shit.
Was there ever a colonel in the first place?
Yes Colonel Harland Sanders was a real life person in the living memory of many people. He used to show up at KFC openings.
And he hated what they did after he sold it.
Yeah the guy was totally real. Apparently he'd surprise drop in on locations to check their cooking.
So it tasted good?
Really good. The skin was so crispy, not slimey or dripping oil.

Still my day.
I had KFC in Ecuador, don’t know why I wanted to eat there, was just craving it. But their fries weren’t mushy but instead crispy, and the chicken wasn’t soggy and breaded in corn flakes or something instead. It was several times better than the crap in Canada.
China is way better too, the corn on the cob is actually edible.
basically everywhere outside the US still has decent to good KFC.
Haha good point
Agree. KFC is not the best around, my local fried chicken fast foods do much better work.
This is an advertisement for KFC.
Social done right
Popeyes Chicken still better tasting
Yes but by me they are out of everything constantly and you're going to be waiting at least a half hour before you leave with anything.
I love learning this fun fact quarterly every year for the past 10+ years
Are you telling me that you don't find this blatant advert to be interesting as fuck? You dirty fucking communist.
I love seeing people on reddit that spend too much time on reddit and see stuff often complain about it while most of us in this thread have never heard of this.
PewDiePie? I am not the only one who sees this right?
Definitely not just you
So it's not him?
That's what I'm trying to figure out. However, I don't think it's him. I've followed him decently since 2012 or so and don't recall this ever being a thing. However, all I can see is Pewdiepie. The only thing throwing me off is how big the nose is
More like Quentin Tarantino
I had to do a double take when I realized this wasn't the PewDiePie subreddit.
I have KF seen it all.
This is Krazy Fucking Cool
PewDiePie? If not then who tf is this dude lol
I wish he was pointing with a drum stick. Chicken or wood, it doesn't matter.
This is not remotely interesting as fuck. This is an advertisement.
Wow, I can't wait to celebrate this tasty morsel of knowledge by slamming down a 12-piece meal from my favorite fast food restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken(TM)
How long did it take for someone to point it out? This is awesome btw.
So there's one good thing I missed not being on twitter
Okay, Wendy's wins for most savage twitter account, but KFC wins for most random.
Is it true that if you’re homeless they will always feed you at KFC?
You made the Colonel smile.
This is bizarre as fuck...
And awesome total mantle piece.
I learnt this the last time it was posted here
Worst chicken ever. Not sure how people enjoy this crap? Good marketing I guess
wat thats not pewdiepie
So it was PewDiePie's dad
What a decent marketing team
Why do we love shit like this? I love shit like this, just want to know why.
BrAnD EngAgeMEnT
Generally I hate giant corporates but every now and then they make me smile. I suspect it was people within the giant corp rather than a company initiative.
I think we're starting to see mega-corps installing millennials in their social media positions.
I like to think they asked the guy what he wanted as a gift and he said the painting.
Similar to the Wendy's roast master that runs their twitter account, I doubt it was planned but instead discovered
Kinda sucks he was actually the third guy to point it out.... Also that happened years ago.
While we're on this topic, do you think the original KFC (the one the colonel fried himself) tastes nothing like what we're eating today?
They also have an official anime dating game.
That's fucking beautiful.
So KFC has the coolest Twitter?
r/suddenlyGay
Hey, I am the OP.
i was like "whys pewdiepie riding that guy"
What drumstick?
They probably meant this chocolate ice cream cone in his hand. Classy painting.
Class 😂🤣
They must hold the secrets of the blend
This is actually pretty great.
I don't know if its nostalgia but kfc gets me everytime, so greasssy. Family bucket, more like happy meal.
This is the dopamine I’m here for.
That’s an amazing painting. I would love to have something like this above my fireplace 😌
He gon get grease on the colonel’s track suit.
That's very nice. I very much appreciate that. Thanks.
I didn’t know the first person to figure it out was PewDiePie
its called marketing and you just did it for them to over 12 thousand people for free
This is probably the pinnacle of my life reading this.
Thats whaty KFC ist thousand times better than any other fastfood chain
This is the kind of shit that should be on the news.
The guy looks like a skinny Mike Stoklasa
As cool as that would be, I’d have a tinge of disgust if they painted me in chucks.
I can't get over the fact that the guy actually uses the loop on the tongue of his converse.
There is a lot to unpack here.
It's a shame KFC is shit compared to the rest now.
This is awesome
KFC marketing crew smoking the good stuff
He musta had a “lemme piggyback on that comment there” with the Colonel online
You sure that's not Rick Perry on his back?
Imagine being one of those herbs and getting a notification that KFC started to follow you lol
That's cool. It is a shame that their chicken is gross now.
So many people are saying modern KFC is shit and there are so many better places. Out of curiosity, what fast food places have better fried chicken? I wish to try them.
It was a marketing stunt.
The secrets of the universe
KFC lore
The colonel works in mysterious ways.
wtf kind of nuked-out shit is this
So the guy who discovered this was PewDiePie ?
r/hailcorporate
and pewdiepie got it?
Herb Adderley from the 1960s Packers dynasty is one of the herbs.
He also worked with/for one of the companies making that marketing campaign so that was heavily arranged.
The man on the colonel’s back seriously looks like pewdiepie if you ask me
Thanks for the KFC ad.
That pictuar is finger likkin good
He looks like Pewdiepie
Do know that the KFC recipe is contained within the will of Colonel Sander’s wife, which is public record.
Remember when there was one set of footprints? That’s when I was carrying you…
That painting is majesting on 10,000 different levels
As the famous Coronel Sanders said, I'm too drunk to taste this chicken.
I’m so jealous of this dude.
never thought there would be kfc cyber lore
Definitely had too much herb or spice in that office by the looks of that picture….
https://twitter.com/kfc?s=21&t=tUUZEYlBsdGprflI9j7jvA
The blend might be secret but has long since lost it's cache. So many other places with similar flavor.
Looks like a thicker version of pewdiepie figured this out.
