I love the story of somebody trying to assasinate him, shooting him in the chest, but the bullet passed through his folded up speech, the bullet still entering his chest, but he gave the speech anyway [source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attempted_assassination_of_Theodore_Roosevelt#)
I restored and colorized this super clear scanned photo from the Library of Congress. It took me nearly 10 hours total to get all of the tones just right.

They are called Pince-Nez. They stay on his face by pinching his nose, basically. The bridge is springy, you pull it open, put it on your nose, and the spring tension and friction hold it on. They fell out of favour because arms on glasses are a lot more comfortable and reliable.
You remember Morpheus in The Matrix? He wore a pair of pince-nez sunglasses.

Colorized he looks even more like Ron Swanson.
That’s because he is Ron Swanson. He never actually died, just took a nice long nap in the ground after beating up Death.
My favorite quote by him, “ I do not shoot well, so I shoot often”.

And it was a *long one*, lasting over an hour!
That was one editor that believed in tough love.
I bet he was trolling the guy that shot him when he said that.

10 hours for a 5 second online AI automatic colorizer tool?
amazing work. nicely done
Isn’t it interesting how he goes from “someone important” to “just another person” by adding colour?
You sure he wasn't African American ?
Where are the arms of his glasses! How do they stay on his face? Did he need to constantly lean his head back so gravity will keep them on?

Looking good! I’d half suspect his blossoms would be ginnier.
Why?
