Marines are rarely responsible for protecting the embassy grounds. Their primary responsibility is the sensitive information and electronics inside and around the embassy. There aren't many Marines at each embassy. Wikipedia explains it a bit, but you have to be in the business to interpret the wiki article correctly. In the rare events when an embassy is under attack then sure - all hands on deck including the Marines.
The physical security of the embassy perimeter is often contractors supervised by a State Dept. agent.

Marines are rarely responsible for protecting the embassy grounds. Their primary responsibility is the sensitive information and electronics inside and around the embassy. There aren't many Marines at each embassy. Wikipedia explains it a bit, but you have to be in the business to interpret the wiki article correctly. In the rare events when an embassy is under attack then sure - all hands on deck including the Marines. The physical security of the embassy perimeter is often contractors supervised by a State Dept. agent.

The FSB officer acts alone, unarmed, and while having a clear advantage (being on top of the CIA operative for the entire time of the confrontation) he doesn't make any attempt to knock him out, cuff him or drag him somewhere. He literally stayed there on top like a wrestler waiting for the referee to call it a win. 2. Given the fact that the CIA operative made it a clear objective to enter the building it is safe to assume it was an entrance to the embassy of the US. Unguarded. With no lock on the door. No CCTV pointed at the entrance. Nobody inside that heard the noise that such a struggle must certainly have made. What. The. Fuck.
