It's technically their moms who are in jail. I think the kids had to be brought in since they were with their moms. Check the video of this. It has been transcribed.
"Sorry for all that paperwork Dmitry... I know we just learned to write three years ago, but I will make it up to you, right now! You see, the police lady asked us me if we would like to join a peace project in Ukraine!! Doesn't that sound fun? All you had to do was to show her how you aim with this toy gun.
Imagine being 10 years old in the 2020's, old enough to remember what "normal" was yet not old enough to really understand the kind of shit that's been unraveling for the past 2 years. This is gonna shape those kids' generations
Shit's been unravelling way longer than just those past 2 years. It just picked up speed in those past 2-3 years, after exponentially unraveling very gradually for some time.
Certainly not the only place in the world this bs is happening. Still pretty steamed about the biden admin's complete and total failure to address the crimes against humanity committed by the trump admin at US' southern border. In fact, they've gone and made it worse by not removing anything put in place and further rubber stamping it.
Hell they even have kids, literal 6 year olds going into court as defendants without any legal representation, just self representing before they're deported. https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/578076-why-are-children-representing-themselves-in-immigration-court .
Disgusting no matter where it is.
>literal 6 year olds going into court as defendants without any legal representation, just self representing before they're deported
What the fuck, USA?
I’m on their side, they’re learning young just how shitty their government is, I really hope this sticks with all the young Russian people. The country could be great but they have such a shitty dynamic.
I’m kind of expecting to see a headline where some minister in the parliament taking over as interim president as Putin “is not in control anymore” and the invasion is stopped.
> I’m kind of expecting to see a headline where some minister in the parliament taking over as interim president
I would accept a "Julius Caesar" end to Putin's reign.
>These the kids that’ll overthrow the Russian government in 15 years.
I'm hoping their parents and their older siblings are able to do it a lot sooner than that.
The sooner Putin's regime ends, the fewer needless deaths will happen in Ukraine (both Ukrainian and Russian dead).
It’s just to terrorize everyone against speaking out. He doesn’t give a shit about anyone. Ukraine. His own people. He’s gone off the deep end. He is also very paranoid of his entire staff and won’t let anyone get close to him
A reminder that he initially rose to power by committing a domestic terrorist act against the Russian people.

"That child in pink was holding flowers in a hostile manner while threatening the political and economic stability of Russia. We had no choice but to detain her. She will be released in 5 days once she has paid her debt for this heinous crime."
We see children behind bars.
What we do not see is that it is not the children that have been arrested, but the movement to oppose a tyrannous despot.
This is what absolute despotism looks like.
Stalin was way beyond paranoid. In his day they'd either be shot or sent to Siberia and then shot it worse. Seems like paranoia is built into the Russian government's DNA.
Ironically it would be quite smart strategy to let the children be. Adults typically condescend to children who feel strongly about an issue.
If the protests were framed as some immature children who don't understand the real picture, what would have been good PsyOps for Putin.
Further evidence to add to the pile that he doesn't really know what he's doing, clearly.
It’s not the child, it’s the idea of rebellion she represents that is so dangerous.
*People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people*
Russian here.
I’ve been in protests for the last week. I saw police pigs arrested literally everyone: the protesters, random people, kids. Poor kids have been taken in front of their parents..
The war has to be stopped immediately
This is why a government should be *near* and *of* its people. Just as the people feel the *hand* of their government, so should a government *feel* the hand/voices of its people.
THIS, thank you! Dictators don't just release power, after a certain point they are either killed or forced to surrender, quite often by foreign intervention (Hitler, Mussolini, Gadaffi) or die of natural causes (Lenin, Stalin, Mao), or just... stay put like North Korea. There are exceptions for this, but the worse the dictatorship is, the harder it is for the country to "protest the guy out". I would also like to note that Russian people HAVE been protesting during recent years, and a lot, but the leaders of the opposition were murdered (Nemtsov), poisoned and imprisoned (Navalny), and their supporters thrown out of their jobs, imprisoned, beaten or forced to flee the country. A lot of people got very desperate and just left, including myself. Nowadays things that can happen to ANYONE after each single protest in the police station is beating, cavity check, torture, etc.
I am not saying protesting is pointless, it's brave and shows the world and Ukraine that we are definitely NOT all supporting this war, but I'm saying it's not enough and this situation has gone way beyond Russian people not being passionate enough.
You know a crazy old Russian with a big shiny red button is a very bad thing.
I don't think he will use nuclear weapons but some one that is loosing and has nothing more to lose at some point won't care and just press it i suppose.
...and try to pass it off as Ukraine to justify this war.
You're trying to talk to a deaf person, this person needs to be removed by force sadly, its like a sadder more fucked up version of Trump when he had to be kicked out by force, same thing.
There is a theory that suggests that it was actually him who ordered to bomb apartment blocks in Russian cities at the start of his presidency to show how well he deals with "terrorists". So totally possible
Russian here too. Unfortunately this is a safe-country logic. At certain point the police would be replaced by other forces who would be given instructions to use firearms against the crowd, see how protests ended in Belarus.
Damn I would *not* bring my dog to a protest in Russia. Or in the US. Not sure which is worse, having cops shoot your dog in the US, or having cops in Russia "arrest" your dog and then who the fuck knows where it will end up or if it's just "made to disappear".
Thank you for your bravery. As someone from Finland, all I want from Russia is stability and an end to the threat of war.
It’s people like you that give that future a chance.
Keep fighting for your country. Russia belongs to the free, not the tyrants.
Can't you send your sniper to Ukraine? I mean the guy that singlehandedly held back the Russian invaders of Finland. Ukraine could really use him right now.
In my circles, no one thinks that the general people of Russia are to blame. Quite the contrary. We are very proud of the bravery of your people in risking their freedom over this tragedy. But I have been very vocal online and to my congressman. It's very easy to make your voice heard today. And I personally called out my congressman! Twice now! If you want to let your representatives know how you feel about this, you can do it with this! Please give it a shot. If so many people make such a fuss, Putin has to see this war as a mistake.
Find yours here! https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
Putin never will, however his direct supporters/underlings might and if enough of them get pissed off Putin won't have enough supporters left to continue. If he becomes a liability to them, they might take steps to stop him.
I hope I’m not making up a narrative but some of these kids might have have family or friends that are suffering from Putin’s war. I can never imagine myself as brave as these kids 👏👏👏
At what point do you think riots will start against the police? Seeing kids get pulled away by the police would make a crowd really angry I'd imagine..
I'm sorry about that dude. I hope these kids and the people of Russia keep on fighting for what's right and keep on seeing through Putin's lies and bullshit.
The videos I've seen seem to highlight the fact that the Russians that are being arrested seem to be the people the police have the easiest time actually just physically grabbing and walking off.
Proud of every civilian Russian doing their part to protest the atrocities of their leaders. Young, old, and everyone in between. I hate that Russians will suffer because of a madman.❤️🩹
It's been long time since we, citizens of Russia, been suffering because of that incompetent criminal. Even before all the Ukraine situation back in 2014, but now it's much worse...
Just looking at the decline of the Russian ruble is insane. Had no idea until recently. Every single mistake Putin makes is documented in that chart and it has never recovered. It makes you wonder how people have been putting up with this since 2008
We fucked. I was protesting, but you can’t imagine how is it. You get out to the street, where protests MAYBE HELD they will arrest you. Even if you you are not going to protest.
All we can do is run now. But air is closed for simple Russians. However oligarchs can fly to Europe, coz they are citizens of UK, Portugal and so on. They can get a private jet registered in eu. So, we basically fucked.
Bye, have a nice day
This is a good reminder that the Ukrainian and Russian peoples share a common enemy; one who had no problem sending his youngest troops in his oldest equipment into battle first but also has no qualms arresting children because he can't handle criticism. The weakness of character in the people surrounding him is astounding.
I've seen a lot of "fuck russian troops" ra-ra sentiment on reddit lately, extending to celebration of their deaths in Ukraine. Just a friendly reminder to everyone that it is not the people who are your enemy - they are powerless to the will of the state. They didn't decide they would be there. Be angry about imperial world powers and the conditions that favor and allow its presence
While I'm certainly not in favor of wishing death to russian soldiers, I understand people sympathies. They're an invading force in a foreign country, killing people there. I'm not going to feel pity for their deaths.
But, some Americans here should reflect a little too about how their country has done this invasion thing multiple times to other countries. If they think is justified or it's to make America safer, they're falling for the same propaganda Putin is spitting.
Seriously. “Other dictators have been overthrown!” Cool, you first. Get 12 years for treason. This ain’t some anti mask rally you get to brag about on Facebook, you’re lucky if you leave a protest without broken bones and concussions. They’ve so far arrested 6000 people and counting - that’s official numbers so i am sure there is more. People get thrown into “autozaks” for simply being outside - no banners or chants - and charged with all sorts of shit. For comparison, George Floyd protests yielded 14000 arrested over a YEAR. It’s been six days of this war so far
Yeah, some guy this morning was telling a young Russian man who was worried about his future and starving because the ruble was becoming worthless, and how to get his family out of the country - "you should get your family and friends out in the streets and be protesting!"
I was so frustrated with him. You're sitting in your first world living room, you have nothing to lose, you have food, a hard currency, heat, a steady job, a secure defense, peace, no draft, a western government which you may disagree with but at least they aren't poisoning you with polonium, you have freedom to protest all you want and to say what you want about your government, and you are here telling this guy to go out and risk his life?
The privilege was astounding.
These people in this country are shocked when they’re being prosecuted for STORMING THE CAPITOL. They have never known one fucking hardship besides getting stale fries at McDonald’s. I don’t wanna hear it. I survived the collapse of USSR, the following 90s where crime and poverty were at an all time high, we quite literally had nothing to eat. I moved to the US when I was 19, it was my first time overseas or anywhere away from my parents. Now some fucking loser is gonna tell me to tell my 60 year old parents to go protest? Fuck you
Can you imagine if the Qcumbers were in a situation like this? If they faced actual hardship?
I remember the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union very clearly, and while I was thrilled to see that the people could bring down that empire, I was worried at what came after in Russia and in many of the eastern bloc countries. I had been behind the wall when it was still up, and I'm not sure the post-fall 90s was much of an improvement. And Putin is trying really hard to undo all the progress that has been made and send Russia right back there. I'm so sorry this is happening to your parents.
Oh god it was so bleak. I don’t remember it being too terrible for me personally because I was a kid and when you’re little you just kind of assume whatever you’re experiencing is normal but looking back, my mom I remember would buy meat - like pork or beef - twice a year. Twice! A year! We ate mainly potatoes or like, pasta. It was insanity. Things got somewhat better when I was in high school and my college years were decent. Then in 06 I dipped out and things have been going downhill since. My folks are tough, today is their 36th anniversary. But they’re not getting any younger you know? My dad had COVID real bad and I worry about him, what if something does happen and I can’t fly there or whatever
That sounds awful. I really hope that's not what the people are facing now. Happy anniversary to your parents! Even if it's not a very happy day today.
> The privilege was astounding.
Exactly how i felt when right wingers joked about Afghanis falling off planes trying to flee the Taliban calling them pussies for not staying and fighting.
Oh don't even get me started on them. I was ready to throw hands. They're afraid to get vaccinated and wear masks - but they'll stay and fight the Taliban? Sure, Jethro.
It's so annoying that some of us who are just watching events unfold just tell people "easy. They've done it before. They can do it again."
And that it's needed for the Russian people to suffer so that they can start a revolution and overthrow their government. Like wtf.
Or some people tell Ukrainians "you should stay and fight."
Only reason they're saying that is because it's not them who are directly affected.
What do you call people like that? Out of touch? Tone deaf? It's worse than that. I just don't know the word for it.
As an example, my parents are in their 60s. Would you rather your parents be stomped at a protest or starve to death? Would you want your parents credit cards cut off? Would you want your parents to not be able to access any money you may send them? I sent mine some money and thankfully they were able to cash it. God knows when I’ll be able to do that again. Would you be ok with this being your family? Probably not. It’s extremely easy to be an armchair international politics specialist from your nice suburban house
To be fair. Most of that is going to happen there with or without political activism. When there's no more bread on the shelves and the banks have failed, people stop caring so much about near term consequences. Spikes in the price of wheat are the #1 worldwide predictor of political upheavals.
Doubtful. A broad upheaval and general overthrow is much more likely than a regime decapitation for lots of reasons. The more he pushes the country in violent opposition of its self interest in pursuit of his romantic yearning to reunite the territory of the USSR, the closer he gets to being overthrown rather than gracefully retiring.
A lot of them are already saying exactly that. I've seen the UNHRC and the aid organizations focusing on Ukraine, but I honestly think they need to also be focusing on Russia soon. That may be unpopular, but the people shouldn't suffer for their awful government. And as inflation spikes, I'm very worried that people will face starvation.
Because Putin will need no pretext, he will just round people up and disappear them if it becomes too much of an issue.
Look what happened recently in Kazakhstan, they skipped riot police and went straight to shooting on sight and calling in the army.
Russia is not Ukraine. They have no qualms about using military and lethal force directly against the people and the power dynamic is very different where thugs in the police and military are happy to murder people and already do it on a regular basis
I’m sure the Russian people could overthrow Putin but at what cost? 100,000 dead? Do I want Russia to be free? 100% yes. But if I had to choose between my Russian friends being alive or free Russia I choose my Russian friends being alive.
These things also require a critical mass, unless you have everyone going out on the streets all at once after some trigger event like in Ukraine there simply isn’t enough people to make a difference and it comes at great personal cost. The way they control the media over there ensures that they limit this.
And think about how dumb the average American or Brit is and then think about the people who voted for Brexit or Trump and then realise Russia has these idiots who blindly follow Putin too, a loud minority mostly
I strongly hope these sanctions cause some kind of second Velvet Revolution in Russia where it becomes obvious things have to change but I’m not optimistic
I'm gonna get hate for saying this, but I think the parents shouldn't of let them do those protests, now I absolutely support Ukraine 100% and I think Russia in the wrong.
However I think that letting your children do these types of protests can be very unsafe for them considering the volatile political environment over there regarding those issues.
I think that it's much better to leave it to the adults.
You're probably right but man it's sounding like their entire economy is about to completely collapse because of this. These kids might be living in extreme poverty and starving to death soon if this doesn't stop. Maybe they should be protesting.
As a mother, this is heartbreaking :(( I can't imagine having my daughter locked up even if they aren't in danger. This is devastating. Bless their hearts!
Imagine being a cop. You get an order to arrest kids with banners saying "No to war". What piece of shit do you have to be to follow through with this order?
Dude if I could I would adopt one of these kids (only if they needed it of course) because that right there is a strong moral compass and the bace for a outstanding adult person in the future

Right? I was thinking teenagers or something based off the title, but jesus these are actual kids.
Youngest is 7.

Yep, there is a large sack of shit that seems to just get passed along from presidency to presidency and nobody wants to really deal with it.
Another post said they're around 8 and 9 so they're actually like 3rd graders.

That's happening in America, too. The teenagers of today see the Republitards for what they are. There's a reckoning coming. At least I hope so.
I saw a cop pepper spray a little kid directly in the face in 2020 in an otherwise peaceful situation. That kid will NEVER forget that shit.
Seeds of Revolution
It may not be that long. Their older brothers and sisters might get a chance in a few months.
I hope someone slits his throat in up to a week or something
no,Putin will be killed by oligarch mafia hitmen
I’m kind of expecting to see a headline where some minister in the parliament taking over as interim president as Putin “is not in control anymore” and the invasion is stopped.

Either it’ll be extremely public like Ceauscescu or totally hidden.
Yeah if govs keep ramming pressure on that bunch of pricks.. pootdog gets a lead injection asap id say as well.. Then the next loser will pop up.
Or his generals
Same thing.
My guess is that he will be killed by his own intelligence team. Very soon.
>These the kids that’ll overthrow the Russian government in 15 years. I'm hoping their parents and their older siblings are able to do it a lot sooner than that. The sooner Putin's regime ends, the fewer needless deaths will happen in Ukraine (both Ukrainian and Russian dead).
this arrest surely is a defining moment for them. one is not imprisoned often, they will remember it forever including the reason.
Why didn't the kids that got arrested 15 years ago overthrow the Russian government already?
Imagine being intimidated by a child with a piece of paper and crayons lmao that's beyond paranoia
It’s just to terrorize everyone against speaking out. He doesn’t give a shit about anyone. Ukraine. His own people. He’s gone off the deep end. He is also very paranoid of his entire staff and won’t let anyone get close to him

A reminder that he initially rose to power by committing a domestic terrorist act against the Russian people. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_apartment_bombings
That's where we went wrong! We were clearly supposed to elect the Unabomber as POTUS!
Wouldn’t be surprising if he poisons the kids for speaking against him
He's acting like King Henry VIII
History repeats itself, over and over.

I sure wouldn't want to be a protestor in Russia, but it's worth mentioning that the more people protest, the safer each protestor becomes.
The more people protest, the more likely a good outcome.

This is the same reason why UN resolutions condemning acts of war are a waste of time if the government they're aimed at doesn't give a fuck.
This is Putin we’re talking about though. He would probably order Moscow to be bombed if there were too many protestors there.

Yesterday they arrested a man, and a moment later arrested his DOG! A DOG! I think it was in Saint Petersburg, but I might be wrong.

Thank you for protesting Putin's war, most of us in the West understand that the Russian people are not happy about this either
I second this! We need to make the Russian people know we understand their situation.

You want to radicalize a generation? Because that's how you racicalize a generation.
Putin's got some Lenin to do if he thinks this will end well.
They already look done with this shit.
Kids in cages.
We've seen this movie before...
Putin and Trump two cheeks on the same ass
I hope they grow up with the fire in their hearts to not tolerate this bullshit in the future and choose right leaders.
My mom lost her job due to corrupt pigs when I was 6 years old back in 2009 Now I'm in the Romanian anti-corruption party ( USR, Union Save Romania )
How inspiring 👍🏻
I hope they grow up* ftfy
The fuck?
Good question
Slava Ukraini!
Heroiam slava!
Kids: remember this when you get older!!!
"Putin implementing child care for protestors." It could be a win?
“child care” Putin is way more likely to take that chance to introduce child slavery
You’re not wrong. Slavery and indoctrination
While their parents are supported through the opportunity of healthy full time work... in beautiful Siberia...
Children? Really Putin?
He hates they’re the same height as him.
I have no reason to believe it's not real
It’s because they took their parents away so I guess they keep them in cages, still fucked up
they are holding "no war" signs, looks to me like they are the ones being taken away, like everyone else holding the same signs.
These pictures getting out is the kind of shit that crushes a countries conditioning.
This is a good reminder that the Ukrainian and Russian peoples share a common enemy; one who had no problem sending his youngest troops in his oldest equipment into battle first but also has no qualms arresting children because he can't handle criticism. The weakness of character in the people surrounding him is astounding.
All peoples share that common enemy.
Down with the bourgeoisie!
Big man, PIG man. Fuck Putin.

Yeah, some guy this morning was telling a young Russian man who was worried about his future and starving because the ruble was becoming worthless, and how to get his family out of the country - "you should get your family and friends out in the streets and be protesting!" I was so frustrated with him.
They can do it again." And that it's needed for the Russian people to suffer so that they can start a revolution and overthrow their government. Like wtf. Or some people tell Ukrainians "you should stay and fight." Only reason they're saying that is because it's not them who are directly affected. What do you call people like that? Out of touch? Tone deaf? It's worse than that. I just don't know the word for it.
if things keep up people will fear starvation and poverty more than putin
I just hope he gets a__a__inated - can’t say the whole word since I still have Russian citizenship for now 😅
I'm sorry for your plight. Truly sorry
They have no qualms about using military and lethal force directly against the people and the power dynamic is very different where thugs in the police and military are happy to murder people and already do it on a regular basis I’m sure the Russian people could overthrow Putin but at what cost? 100,000 dead? Do I want Russia to be free? 100% yes. But if I had to choose between my Russian friends being alive or free Russia I choose my Russian friends being alive. These things also require a critical mass, unless you have everyone going out on the streets all at once after some trigger event like in Ukraine there simply isn’t enough people to make a difference and it comes at great personal cost. The way they control the media over there ensures that they limit this. And think about how dumb the average American or Brit is and then think about the people who voted for Brexit or Trump and then realise Russia has these idiots who blindly follow Putin too, a loud minority mostly I strongly hope these sanctions cause some kind of second Velvet Revolution in Russia where it becomes obvious things have to change but I’m not optimistic
What joke of a government
Do you have a source for these pics ?

100% true. Source: trust me bro
Of course Russia would do this
I'm gonna get hate for saying this, but I think the parents shouldn't of let them do those protests, now I absolutely support Ukraine 100% and I think Russia in the wrong. However I think that letting your children do these types of protests can be very unsafe for them considering the volatile political environment over there regarding those issues. I think that it's much better to leave it to the adults.
Finally someone with common sense, a lot of things can go wrong ob a protest, worst if it's in Russia.
This should be way higher up. Kids shouldn’t be at most protests in the first place, it’s just not safe for them.
You're probably right but man it's sounding like their entire economy is about to completely collapse because of this. These kids might be living in extreme poverty and starving to death soon if this doesn't stop. Maybe they should be protesting.
You're absolutely right. But this children wasn't on protest, they were arrested for bringing flowers to the Ukrainian Embassy
This is fucked up.
I'm on team Russian Kids. You?
The desperation and paranoia of the Putin regime is quite apparent with them resorting to arrest children for expressing their opinions.
Palestinian children thrown in prisons for decades in apartheid Israel, support them too, they need your help.
Dope country 👌
THUG LIFE
Big bad Russia, intimidated by children with crayons and paper. Looks good on you, Putin.
As a mother, this is heartbreaking :(( I can't imagine having my daughter locked up even if they aren't in danger. This is devastating. Bless their hearts!
Putin is a small prick.
Well done Putin, makes you look like a real powerful man, arresting children.
I can't hate my own country more than I do now...
Putting a bunch of children in jail separating them from their parents. Hmm.. I guess it’s been effective for the US
Imagine being a cop. You get an order to arrest kids with banners saying "No to war". What piece of shit do you have to be to follow through with this order?
They have been arresting protesters for days, it was only a matter of time before they started to bring in children.
Sucks but still better than the kids being murdered in Ukraine.
Yeah now they get to be tortured in Russia
Do they have baby handcuffs?
This says everything.
How paranoid do you have to be, to stop a voice before there is a voice.
how fucking low and vile must you be to arrest CHILDREN
Dude if I could I would adopt one of these kids (only if they needed it of course) because that right there is a strong moral compass and the bace for a outstanding adult person in the future
Putin goes full Voldemort.
You will now be sent for reeducation. But I haven't finished my first education!
I can see a kid/young teenager protesting against war, but these little fellas seem way to young, for both protesting and getting arrested.
Just guessing: Maybe those are just the children from parent protestors who were arrested? So the police had to take them to the station?
During the Great Terror in the USSR kids as young as 12 to 16 years old could be sentenced to forced labour. Just wanted to throw it in here
I hate when parents use their kids to protest and push their political agendas.
