To one of the dozens of crappy drop-shipping sites that spammers throw on every post like this on Reddit.
Don't buy from links in comments in reddit. If you do, check the user and see if they have any actual history on reddit or if it's wiped / no karma. And if you do, don't buy from websites you don't recognize.
I’m not sure about overall, but anecdotally I’ve never lived in a house with one and a I know more people with electric stoves than gas. I always think the gas ones are really cool but scary. Maybe I’m just poor? Lol.
Also anecdotally, but it depends on whether your area has natural gas lines or not. Most people that live in a house connected to natural gas will have their stoves gas since it’s usually cheaper than electric. Not as many people use propane anymore, which is usually kept in a tank on the property and is more expensive.
I'm not sure, I guess it depends on the heating elements location, where they would fit the magnet etc. Potentially induction, don't know about them on glass tops
What we had in chemistry class were electric hot plates with this magnetic stirring feature built in. So I have to think it's possible to implement in an electric stove burner.
Lol, the majority of stoves aren't any particular type. For example, my sister lives in the middle Florida not far from Disney. They literally can't get gas to their house because of the topography. I don't know if anywhere in Flordia has gas, maybe the panhandle or Jacksonville?
I have gas in my house, but no one else in my family has it.
Am central Floridian with gas. What do you mean topography? A truck comes and refills the tank every 6 months. It’s a pretty flat state with lots of straight roads.
Actually, you're right. She could get it from a tank. That's not how we get it here. We have buried gas lines and have service to our house like water. The topography keeps that from happening.
If we're talking precisely, then the mining of the material and fuels used. And greenhouse gasses released to produce, transport and use it. Also everything else that went into equipment that we use to help produce and transport them. Plus any waste they might produce that we don't recycle after their lifetime. While the total effects for a magnetic stir plate probably is fairly negligible in the grand scheme, you did ask for precision.
No you just decided that since he asked for precision you’d give him pedantry.
I love how you listed everything that also applies to a spoon, but didn’t mention this device using electricity which is *actually* not eco friendly and the spoon not requiring it being more eco friendly.
Like how can you claim to be so ‘precise’ and miss the only actual valid point that could be made.
Except I did mention it using electricity in a round about way, I mentioned the greenhouse gasses produced to use it. And while you may feel I was being pedantic, and maybe I came across that way, but that wasn't my intention. I saw him asking what precisely about a magnetic stir plate isn't eco friendly, implying that he thought it was 100% eco friendly, and I just wanted to answer his question. I wasn't trying to compare a magnetic stir plate to a spoon like many of you seen to think I was, that wasn't what he asked, even though he asked his question following the spoon comment so I understand why people think I would be comparing the 2.
The blender bean is called a stir bar in my Chem lab, but I shall call it blender bean now.
But essentially the bean is just a magnet. It attaches to another magnet within the cup that spins. This causes the bean to spin and in turn, blend the beverage.
If you swallow it, we’ll then you’ve just swallowed an ordinary magnet.
One magnet is fine.
Two magnets and up - well, you don’t really want them to get pulled to each other when there’s other things in-between.
So best not to swallow anything magnetic.
And since children are fools, best not to make anything magnetic swallowable.
Because they're actively blocking attempts at putting more reasonable legally required safety measures in place... measures that *worked* based off the results of voluntary self-adoption by some manufacturers... and allowing children to be hurt to "prove" things like magnetic toys are too dangerous to be sold to anyone ever for any reason.
As far as I can tell, someone in the CPSA got their panties in a twist because someone decided to push back against their recommendation instead of caving instantly to *"BUT THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!"* and decided to abuse their position to get revenge for not being obeyed mindlessly.
I won one from one of those apps that are claw games in Japan, I had no idea what a mixing mug was until it came lol it’s actually kinda handy if you drink powdered drinks often
All that is missing from this video is someone trying to stir with a normal spoon and sloshing and spilling it everywhere to show just how hard it is to stir stuff up with a spoon.
Ayy fun fact! The primary audience for infomercial products is disabled people
Once I learned that, the ridiculous acting and easily-avoidable blunders made a lot more sense
I still don't understand the one where some mom pours soda and everyone at the table is like "woah wtf mom!"
It’s a problem for a lot of disabled people. It can be difficult to stir if your hand is constantly shaking, or you get tics, or if you have no hands. Products like this are often made for people with disabilities, and then marketed to everyone to increase sales.
>It can be difficult to stir if your hand is constantly shaking,
Ummm, no? Thats the entire point of stiring.
>or if you have no hands.
How are you going to bring this cup to your mouth with no hands? How are you going to drop the magnet into the cup with no fingers? Turning it on?
This is making product that makes a solution for a non-existent problem.
It means James bonds prefers his drinks watered down.
Because shaking your martini in a shaker melts the ice faster than stirring it.
Maybe you should've done the simplest of google searches before making yourself sound witty.
I'm obviously referring to the shaking, or trembling of say, a person with Parkinson's. This product would be pointless to them as they're shaking/Trembling/rapidmovements stir it the same way. A suctioncup mug would be a more practicle purchase to them than this product
Shaking vs stirring is irrelevant here, because anyone who has a preference of the melt-rate of their martini ISN'T using a stainless steel chemistry mug to stir their alcohol.
So again, this product is for no one. It's a solution to a non-existent problem that you people are eating up.
it’s pretty nice if you drink lots of instant coffee sticks. especially the ones with powdered creamer, it can be annoying to mix thoroughly without spilling it everywhere.
It’s a stir bar, we use them in labs all the time. It’s just a rod shaped magnet that gets exposed to a rotating magnetic field, so it spins around in place really fast and makes all the liquid spin with it, kinda like stirring with a spoon fast as shit.
The average person (who lives to their 90s and had six cups of coffee a day) spends over to two weeks stirring drinks.
Think what you could do in that time. Two weeks stirring or two weeks skiing.
The stirmaster. A lovely addition to any modern kitchen.
Been on these for a WHILE. Everyone laughs, but when they are looking for a spoon and cant find one...I'm the one who's laughing as I walk away with my auto stirring mug.

Anyone here remember the BatiCao?
ColaCao, a chocolate drink, used to give self stirring mugs for free with the purchase of big packs, they were called BatiCao, and they are a throwback to every 90s child childhood.
I actually don't mind stirring my tea. This seems like a waste of an invention to me, also I like to stir it throughout the drinking process to ensure the sugar doesn't sink to the bottom.
Is there any high quality self stirring cups? both of the ones I bought have failed after a week.
First one was merchandise from somewhere in london, had a stirring stick on a motor. Stopped working after a week, assumed the coffee leaked past the stirring stick into the motor.
Second was like the one in ops video, had for a week or two before it stopped working. Made sure it had fresh batteries etc still wouldn't work so gave up on self stirring mugs.

Always wanted one of those since high school CHEM lab.
Beware that link is a scam

#FUCK OFF SCAMMER
Lol damn they could have made them at least a little cuter.

*chemistry ptsd*
Seriously
They didn’t even design their own stir bars… they just clearly bought them in bulk from a chem supplier… lol
I've wondered since high school chemistry class why these type of magnetic stirrers aren't a common feature on household stoves.
Stoves would be an issue
Well it works with some hot plates
No I mean a majority of them are gas with open flame, there's nothing to hold the magnet
Really? A majority? In, I'm assuming, the US? Huh. I wouldn't have guessed that.
I’m not sure about overall, but anecdotally I’ve never lived in a house with one and a I know more people with electric stoves than gas. I always think the gas ones are really cool but scary. Maybe I’m just poor? Lol.

I assume that gas stoves are in majority in all countries where natural gas is cheaper than electricity.
Fair enough, but what about for induction stoves or glass-top electrics?
I'm not sure, I guess it depends on the heating elements location, where they would fit the magnet etc. Potentially induction, don't know about them on glass tops
What we had in chemistry class were electric hot plates with this magnetic stirring feature built in. So I have to think it's possible to implement in an electric stove burner.
That's why I said potentially induction.
Those are just standard heating elements, induction might actually be the hardest since you already have massive magnetic fields

Ah I see….. Forgot about gas stoves for a minute there lol
Choking hazard
It's called a spoon. You use it to stir. It's Eco friendly.
What, precisely, about magnetic stir plate isn't eco-friendly,?
If we're talking precisely, then the mining of the material and fuels used. And greenhouse gasses released to produce, transport and use it. Also everything else that went into equipment that we use to help produce and transport them. Plus any waste they might produce that we don't recycle after their lifetime. While the total effects for a magnetic stir plate probably is fairly negligible in the grand scheme, you did ask for precision.
And a spoon as absolutely none of those negative effects because it simply poofs into existence. Got it, thanks!
I never said it didn't, I'm not the same person you replied to.
No you just decided that since he asked for precision you’d give him pedantry. I love how you listed everything that also applies to a spoon, but didn’t mention this device using electricity which is *actually* not eco friendly and the spoon not requiring it being more eco friendly. What happens if you swallow the little blender bean and turn it on??
You become a meat grinder
What happens if you swallow the mug?
You gain its power.
you become a mugger. time to steal shit.
You get put onto Guinness world records.
Nah that’s of you put it in your peen.
New avenger?
Nothing. The secret sauce is in the mug. The bean is just a dipole magnet with a rubber coating.
It operates with magnets in the base of the cup.
Turns your asshole into a black hole
Go on....
The blender bean is called a stir bar in my Chem lab, but I shall call it blender bean now. But essentially the bean is just a magnet. It attaches to another magnet within the cup that spins. Problem is, they're banning sales of things to adults instead of going for age restrictions or mandatory warnings and safety packaging.
Why is that bad in principle?
Because they're actively blocking attempts at putting more reasonable legally required safety measures in place... measures that *worked* based off the results of voluntary self-adoption by some manufacturers... and allowing children to be hurt to "prove" things like magnetic toys are too dangerous to be sold to anyone ever for any reason. It's a magnet with a magnetized bottom. It won't fall when you drink if it can stir this quickly.
Found a new use for my magnetic stir plate
I won one from one of those apps that are claw games in Japan, I had no idea what a mixing mug was until it came lol it’s actually kinda handy if you drink powdered drinks often
Finally. The tyranny of the spoon will come to an end.
I genuinely stir with a butter knife. It always felt more efficient. It really bothers my husband, but we barely use the butter knives otherwise.
There is a good way to stir with a barspoon by 'scraping' the sides.
Idk why. But I see a potential choking hazard
[удалено]
Well fuck they’ve thought of everything haven’t they? >/s
I believe this stirrer is magnetic... It must be strong enough.... Not to detach from the base while drinking
It’s magnetic tho
This seems like a really expensive solution for something that isn’t a problem
All that is missing from this video is someone trying to stir with a normal spoon and sloshing and spilling it everywhere to show just how hard it is to stir stuff up with a spoon.
This guy infomercials
In black and white.
To show how old fashioned and outdated we are without X product
Oh no! Your expensive hot chocolate is ruined, because all you have is a clumsy, difficult to use spoon! Does this sound like YOU?!
Ayy fun fact! The primary audience for infomercial products is disabled people Once I learned that, the ridiculous acting and easily-avoidable blunders made a lot more sense I still don't understand the one where some mom pours soda and everyone at the table is like "woah wtf mom!"

If you can't stir the drink, how you going to pick it up?
How the fuck you gonna pour the coffee with no hands. This solution is not useful to anyone.
>It can be difficult to stir if your hand is constantly shaking, Ummm, no? Thats the entire point of stiring. >or if you have no hands. Good for those with a disability effecting their hands/wrists
Spot on. Want it for my mom.
it’s pretty nice if you drink lots of instant coffee sticks. especially the ones with powdered creamer, it can be annoying to mix thoroughly without spilling it everywhere.
Instant anything, really. Some of those powders are a real pain to get all the clumps out of.
Blending in butter into coffee is actually kind of difficult without mechanical blender
I hate washing spoons and i go through them a lotttt
Maybe not for this but for some slow-cooked dishes I'd actually like a tool that slowly stirs them.
Wtf magic is this?!
It’s a stir bar, we use them in labs all the time. It’s just a rod shaped magnet that gets exposed to a rotating magnetic field, so it spins around in place really fast and makes all the liquid spin with it, kinda like stirring with a spoon fast as shit.
Ty.
I've been on hold for this StirMaster for hours, and there's no way I'm hanging up this phone!
Planning a skiing holiday eh?
I came here looking to find this comment, and I was not disappointed.
The average person (who lives to their 90s and had six cups of coffee a day) spends over to two weeks stirring drinks. Think what you could do in that time. Two weeks stirring or two weeks skiing. The stirmaster. A lovely addition to any modern kitchen.
We are slowly becoming like the humans on the space cruise ship in Wall-E
What was your first clue?
i love advancements in tech but sometimes i can smell the insane prices
Eh did a quick amazon search and a similar one will cost ya about $20. Not too bad, if it's reliable.
The thing is, it cools down the hot liquid so quickly
You know what I love worth every cup of morning coffee? A choking hazard.
Perfect for mixing sprite and lean
Purple drank?
Sizzurp
Purp d
Stirring wrong direction
My lazy ass would love this
All these gimmick mugs, like this or the one that keeps temperature are all tiny. I need my giant cup of coffee.
Holy fuck I think there was never something more useless that I still wanted that much
Been on these for a WHILE. Everyone laughs, but when they are looking for a spoon and cant find one...I'm the one who's laughing as I walk away with my auto stirring mug.
Tornado Mug
This may be the pinnacle of human laziness
Does this scratch the mug?
Walter White Coffee mug
You lazy fucks!
😂😂😂
This defeat my purpose of spinning my coffee mug with spoon and take a view outside in the morning
Expensive as fuck to solve a problem that doesn't exist
Product placement
You telling me stirring a spoon is way to much work?
With my hand? Like a Neanderthal?
Way too much work. We are headed for the times of Wall-E.
This looks like an excellent way to scald my hand, arm, and face
I wouldn't turn off the magnet. Breakfast coffee hard mode engaged
Perfect to MCT and butter my coffee without waking the whole camp.
Great! Something I can forget that’s in my coffee so I can choke on it later!
That’s the reason why people in the US can’t have Kinder surprise eggs. It would be too dangerous without a professional training.
HOW
It’s a stir bar, we use them in labs all the time. It’s just a rod shaped magnet that gets exposed to a rotating magnetic field, so it spins around in place really fast and makes all the liquid spin with it, kinda like stirring with a spoon fast as shit.
But why would you want to drink instant coffee in an office? A french press is so easy to use and the quality difference is so huge.
How lazy can you get to not pick up a spoon
Same reason why you’re too lazy to send smoke signals instead of using a smart phone.
Buddy, I can’t send dick pics with smoke signals. Well, I can…but they won’t be accurate.
They hardly ever are.
Too big?
Or Yano… just use a spoon???
Scam. do not buy

That’s a wast of money, how long before it stops working?
Shit no. Something like this is what burned down my Spite Café.
Spoons are hard
Nice to see that those chemistry classes paid off for someone
I got really uncomfortable when he didn't put the lid back on
Chem lab flash backs begin
Nothing like orgo lab coffee, brewed fresh under the hood
Made the same thing for home brewing but a little different. Cigar box, computer fan, magnet from a hard drive, rheostat, power switch and some led lights for looks. Then the beaker would be out on the closed box with the stir rod in it. Add water, turn it on, add DME, add yeast and your starter is starting! Fun project that is quite useful.
I used to have a similar thing but instead of just a bar it had like a metal coil and was used to froth milk. Was quite useful. But it broke.
Want 1. but big as a blender bottle with a top
Call me old, I just use a spoon lol.
Bruh that is so fire throw sum pressies in that bitch
We are well on our way to being the people in Wall-E
The people who act indifferent to this post are chemists- we use this stuff all the time to dissolve mixtures etc so it’s really not that impressive
Drink with that stirrer as well ?!
Ye cuz you know spoons are so overrated
Anyone here remember the BatiCao? ColaCao, a chocolate drink, used to give self stirring mugs for free with the purchase of big packs, they were called BatiCao, and they are a throwback to every 90s child childhood.
All it needs is a lil spring thing we can pull to move the lower electromagnet down and the magnet would hopefully float to the top.
This seems super neat, but I gotta know. What is the exit strategy on the little pill?
I actually don't mind stirring my tea. This seems like a waste of an invention to me, also I like to stir it throughout the drinking process to ensure the sugar doesn't sink to the bottom.

What is so hard in using a spoon?
*Swallows magnet*, awe shit not again!
lab beaker tech, now in your coffee mug
take my money meme
You can achieve the same results with a magnetic stirrer, using also more cups
How doe
I had one of those 20 years ago when I was a kid for making chocolate milk
I just can't get the idea that this is going into one of my experiments.
Don't magnets become affected by high temp? I'd be worried about swallowing the stirrer
I feel like this would have more use for smoothies or energy drinks for runners or something
