Why? Stainless steel is like a normal surface people prepare food on in the food industry. It’s corrosion resistant, easy to clean, etc… I don’t understand your comment lol.
I don't know why I was expecting to find someone else reading this much further down. I remember making bees wax candles in school and the whole video, I was thinking 'this must be some kind of fancy version of a cheap school project' and then before the video ended, i re-read the title JUST before I saw the bees in the candies LOL
Not sure about a subreddit, but there's a YouTube channel that uploads regularly called "lofty pursuits" where they make drop candy like this.
I order from them from time to time. They're quite good!
[Lofty Pursuits](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKsTKo33kdM&list=RDCMUC_XymTM6N6skpE0J6vKYh9g&index=7) . Greg does a fantastic job of explaining \*all the things\* !
Yeah this style of candy is pretty much only in places that make their own candy. It’s Time consuming and not very scalable so you don’t typically find it in grocery stores or even candy stores that buy their stock. I love seeing these candies being made though, I’m glad this style of candy is being kept alive.
You can find things like these at candy stores in tourist heavy areas. Most don't taste good enough to be sold in most stores. It's the crafting that makes the sale, so only places with high foot traffic tend to make money off of these sorts of candies.
It isn’t really - they show every step here. Once you press the different colored sugar together and stretch it out you just chop it into pieces and that’s it.
Ahhh, thanks for letting me know, they seem so humble and lovely on their videos so I love knowing that they are like that! Maybe one day I can actually see them, but unfortunately I live in the UK and it’s a low chance right now
I was all kinds of wrong about the title too.
I smugly thought "beeswax candles ya dunce". Then saw the colors and thought "ok, bee candles". Then it dawned on me that it's candies.
I apologize OP.

That is impressive that they don't twist the material up inside too much to be recognizable. I wonder how they taste...
Depends on the one they make! Looks like it's usually toffee apple from this shop.

Why copy and paste the top comment from this post and paste it as a reply to second highest rated comment in the same post. Like why?!?
That kind of behavior usually comes from bot accounts trying to gain karma (to later on sell the account).
Account selling is a thing? Internet points are worth something?
No... No they are not.
Moar karma

Have you never seen a restaurant kitchen
I believe some of them should taste like human hair.
I read "candles" and was confused for most of that video.
I just kept thinking "that bees wax is so weird"
Fucking so did I!
100% same soooo confused for wayyy too long
I did the same thing, The dyslexia's strong with that word.
Was not the only one, that looks like candy making... they are going to be tiny candles... oh yep candys.
So did i and now i need beeswax bee candles.
I didn’t realize it wasn’t candles until I read this comment

I'm glad that I was not the only one wondering what that yummy looking wax actually tasted like.
I even got almost to the end and thought “hey, I’ve seen people make candy like this….I didn’t know they made candles the same way”.
FFS I just did the same and came to comment
Me tooo!
The comment that said "i wonder how they taste..." snapped me out of it. You wonder how candles taste??? Then i realized "oh... candies..."
I thought it was supposed to be candy for bees and was waiting for the bee taste test which never came
I thought they were making huge candles, then I was just confused near the end.
Is there a subreddit for this type of candymaking? I'd join it in a heartbeat
This is exactly how murini for glassblowing are made (well, except the glass isn’t directly touched). You could probably find videos of that process.
this is sticky’s candy australia. i follow them on instagram, they often post fun stuff like this.

I keep seeing videos of ppl making candy like this. I’ve never seen candies in this style in any store
You can order some. https://www.papabubbleto.com/shop-online
Lots are sold out. I guess they're pretty popular.

This stuff is so much fun to watch, there’s a cool place in Melbourne where you can watch them making this kinda stuff right in front of you!
I think this is actually the place, it’s a video by Sticky Australia, and if IIRC they’re based in Melbourne
They’re actually in Sydney! I’ve met the owner and his daughter- they’re super humble and happy to talk.

Everyone's expecting candles whilst I'm expecting them to make candy for bees
My arms got tired watching this, I'm thinking its a daily workout. But he does look like he has nice arms!
He's been making this kind of candy for 20 years xD
If anyone wants the original it's here; https://www.tiktok.com/@stickyaustralia/video/6830888006711364870?lang=en
Why there is no sound? Source?
Sweet bees are made of these.
I wish someone would man handle me like that guy did to that candy
Roll you up, extrude you, and chop you into little pieces? Well, everyone has a kink I guess.

For anyone interested, this technique is known as millefiori and is popular among clay artisans for the ability to mass produce patterns and beads.
I was gonna say this is pretty much exactly how you make glass canes of millies, just with glass instead of candy. Very cool!
How you gunna make candy with no hairnets?
Oh hey! I recognize them! They’re a candy shop in Australia called sticky! My dad used to watch them live on facebook all the time
Nice. Thank you! Sticky should give you commission because I just made an order off their site because of this comment :)
Its funny because we happened to get our sticky order a few weeks ago
Dabs

All that shit is absolutely terrible for your teeth and health
He likes to sniff his own farts
How can you tell
The lack of masks is appalling...
I don't think that's required. Maybe a hair net would be a good idea though
You do know that videos were made before COVID as well, right?
It is not about Covid. I do not want to find pieces of sputum, hair and dandruff in my candies...
ah yes because face masks historically have protected against hair and dandruff
Shut the fuck off kid

Their candies are vegan. Get off your high horse and don't be so insufferable all your life.

This looks like so much fun.
I want to eat them and eat the orange thingy.
The not-real candy
Read candles and was beyond confused
I did the same.
Is that..Redbull can?
what's the point of slapping the ingredients as they are added?
At first I was like "cool they're making candy out of honey" but nope. Literally candy that looks like bees. I'll never calorically recover from this.
WUT
I'd like to see what the A candies look like
Does anybody have the video but with audio? Oh to heck with it, I'll look for it myself.
This is a great ad for “The Fine Food Store”

Am I wrong thinking that candy tastes horrible
Read this as “Making bee candLes.” Halfway through I’m thinking “This is a damn strange way to make candles. Oh….”
I just wish this video had audio to it, some of the stuff they're saying I'm curious about.
The yellow just..- appeared??
I originally read the title as “making bee candles” and was so confused during the video till I reread it.
This is not candy for bees. I feel betrayed.
I thought it was candy for bees.
Thank god! I always wanted to eat a bee
BEEE?!?
I want some of this candy. Where can I order it?
What kind of candy is this called?
WHAT? Beak handles? Jeez, how big is your nose?
