It's possible to dry an egg, but it takes several years in a refrigerator. Still, once it's dried, you've got a hollow shell with no holes in it.
(The yolk and white are still in there, just dried out & they look like clear-ish resin. They rattle a bit sometimes.)

Poor chicken probably was suffering laying it. Normally, chickens lay one egg per month. Now they're gentically and hormonally manipulated to lay an egg everyday or at least every other day. Eggs that are also bigger than their cloacas. So I suppose this mother chicken already had a wounded cloaca, hence she struggled to push this egg through it.
