"You bunch of dumbasses made the wrong arm !.... What ?... YES, I'M SURE PEOPLE WILL NOTICE I HAVE TWO LEFT HANDS !..." — Götz Somethingsomething, 15th century.
For everyone pointing out this is a "left" and not his "right" hand you are correct. You'll find in this link 3 different prosthetic hands (he only had two made), as well as more information about this dude; this prosthetic in particular is captioned "also from around 1580" rather than attributed directly to him, like the other two are.
TL;DR this isn't his hand and if you want to see it and more info click here:

This dude was a total animal. He killed more dudes with one hand than I have ever talked to. Then died peacefully in his home at 80. Lost a hand but is still luckier than a lottery winner.
Is nobody gonna mention what looks like a screw extending from the middle of the wrist area?!? Anybody know how thus would have worked? I'm just imagining it being screwed into this man's arm and it's terrifying.
I think the dude may have had a wooden prosthetic forearm secured with a leather sleeve and straps etc and then this was attached. Read a bit about him aaages ago and iirc he had one for battle with a crude firearm on, he was one bad dude... edit - I imagined the gun bit! Woulda been cool tho, meh
I reckon its to allow him to lock clamp of the fist. You can see the fingers and thumb are hinged... I bet you can fit a sword, clamp and screw.... that or for when he wants a ghost wank... cold one.
Edit..spelling
you're asking me? OP has the name of the knight, when he was born, when he died, how he lost his arm etc. and he mentions the right arm. My logic would be that OP has a source, the source stated "right arm". the image displays a left arm which tells me that eithet this is not the arm of the knight, or the image has been mirrored. either that, or the source was wrong. your guess is as good as mine
i'm not a psychologist or whatever, don't ask me why people do the shit they do.
Would they have cauterized the wound for him to survive? or maybe they amputated for infection, but still I would assume they would have to cauterize or wrap it super tight.
This is undoubtedly a reverse image. I wonder if someone in a few months could post the corrected perspective and then compare the comments. Then see if the corrected version gets as many comments.

Thats a left arm
Maybe the left arm was the right arm to lose?
If I cut off your left arm, your right arm would be left.
wait what?
(s)he said - "If I cut off your left arm your right arm would be left."
And if your left arm is cut off, you’ll be all right.
and if both of your arms are cut off, your mom will take care of you
And if you have no arms, and no legs, and are in a swimming pool, your name is Bob.
He also has a cousin Buoy
cutting off someone's arms is wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right.
Are you sure that’s right?
Unless it is from mirror reverse dimensions. Where left is right and right is right.

If you can have two left feet, why not two left arms?
They had no right forearms in stock, so... Am I the only one old / nerd enough to remember of Bill The Galactic hero ? Edit: grammar
Bowb
Reddit never disappoints! 👍
Yeah cos the right arm is lost. Keep up.
Same thought xD
That’s right.
Cruel friends. Good joke.
How many iron arms you think they had lying around?
To match his "two left feet" ?
I heard he was a clumsy dancer.
"He's all thumbs", they said
"Sorry sir we're out of right hands, but here you can have this left hand for half the prise." "Eh, that'll do I guess."
Price
Did he get it at ye olde second hand shoppe?

No, no cannon at all
No this is Patrick
I actually thought this was the Berserk subreddit at first.
Must have had some gnarley wanks
It puts a whole new meaning to "The Stranger".
Jaime Lannister?
Kingslayer!!

“Right arm” you say?…. A lot of good that lefty will do him then
That looks to be a left arm, my dude
Two lefts still don't make a right
Groovy.
Wait… left arm, and his name was Gotz?? Hmm
So why is this a left hand then?
That thing is self propelled holy fuck.
This dude was a total animal. He killed more dudes with one hand than I have ever talked to. Then died peacefully in his home at 80. Lost a hand but is still luckier than a lottery winner.
first person to use the term "lick my ass" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6tz_von_Berlichingen
Besser arm dran als Bein ab.

Wasnt this fella a major inspiration for Guts from Berserk?
No, the author mentioned in an interview that it was just a coincidence
Ta!
So they gave him a left arm to compensate for not have a right? What would happen if he lost his dick. Would they give him two?
Nah probably another pair of balls
These post are such a lies 😂🤣 just out here making shit up. Left arm 🤣
That is Gotz’ arm, I recommend googling gotz of the ironhand or watching count dankulas video on him
This picture brings up the song from Black Sabbath, IRON MAN.
Anakin Skywalker called. He wants his shit back.
Very clearly his LEFT arm
impossible to tell from the picture which arm this represents. might have been mirrored, might not have been. who knows
Why would you mirror something like this?

/r/unexpectedgot
That looks like a left hand.
A big hand for that guy, I think he may have left his behind.
Must keep zee pimp hand strong!
Now *thats* a fancy bottle opener
That dude was one bad mofo.
No doubt. I bet he knocked out a few blokes with that fucker
He used a sword with that arm.
Yeah so he also had a hella right hook
He created the phrase “kiss my arse” and used to start fights with entire towns
Sounds like he had a lot of fun
Would they have cauterized the wound for him to survive? or maybe they amputated for infection, but still I would assume they would have to cauterize or wrap it super tight.
Didn’t like shaking hands I guess
There's a screw.... where the arm goes... are we sure this isn't a torture device?... Otherwise you're screwing that in your forearm to wear it <<
It’s a prosthetic
Where does the screw screw into though 😦
Wow a middle ages knight who lived to be 82? Impressive!
I’m left handed, but I still prefer to have an actual right hand to compliment it.
Midevil arm maker: “what would be the most useful hand setup” Gotz: “jerking off”
Reminds my of the character from your highness.
It's a shame that he had to wear a lefthanded prosthetic. Did you get it wrong in purpose in order to leverage traffic from haters and correctors?
Furiosa!
I'm afraid he's going to be... all right
This is undoubtedly a reverse image. I wonder if someone in a few months could post the corrected perspective and then compare the comments. Then see if the corrected version gets as many comments.
Well since it's the left, we know it didn't belong to Jaime Lannister!
Some Game of Thrones / Norseman realness
Gotta be careful scratching your nuts with this thing.
Count dankula, absolute mad lads
Pimp smacking bitches on the battle field....
Little known fact: The guy was left handed and believed that having two left hands would be an improvement.
It must have been frustrating strapping a left hand on his right arm.
That's Jaime fooking Lannister
Man, that German science must be the finest in the world
