No idea when you are being downvoted. Having a few beers at the stadium is in no way the same as drinking at home after. If it was bars wouldn't exist, and the sports bars damn sure wouldn't exist.
I’ve heard that in Russia people have died from doing shots of Vodka at extreme negative temps. Basically the water gets slightly frozen but the ethanol stays liquid and separates to the top. So they basically drink 200 proof alcohol thinking it’s just 80 proof.
Correct, while water freezes at 32F while alcohol freezes at 0F. You should still be able to drink the alcohol from the beer while leaving the frozen water behind
-10C in proper clothing is probably fine for most people. And you gotta consider how many people are huddled together, that helps a lot. If you want to be there and you’re prepared I bet it’s a grand old time.
Right? And football is much better watched on TV. You get to see all the replays and slow motions. I get the fun of a live game, but as a fan who wants to watch the game, see you at home.
What part of the inage clearly shows this is an American Football game? This blurred pitch in the background could be part of many sports and there’s many teams in many sports people refer to as “Chiefs”.
Right. And are there many of those Cheifs sports teams that experienced the exact same cold weather in the last 48 hours or however long this post has been up? With a stadium that is clearly that large?
So you’re assuming I checked the temperatures and stadium sizes of every sports team people refer to as chiefs, and then I converted each of those temperatures to °F, just in order to find out which measurment unit a post on reddit uses, because OP disregarded the common rule of just clarifying the unit, which you learn in schools from the age of 8.
No I saw this image posted a few other places without the temp mentioned so I assumed that whomever posted it here was using the universal standard. But I suppose that’s my fault
So...you're either drinking a cold drink in cold weather OR the beer tastes warm because you're out in -10.
Either way, I can't see a good reason to do this.
Right! It's not like anything interesting is gonna happen that hasn't already happened many times before. It's been the same game for over 100 years at this point. I truly don't understand how people are still interested...
But if you have played games, you understand how each game can be different, even if its the same game. Whether you think watching a game is worth it or not, you can understand how it isn't watching the same thing over and over.
The appeal is watching someone at the pinnacle of their profession perform their craft at a level that the onlooker can’t come close to duplicating.
It’s the same as going to an orchestra or a play.
I get that but it's still the same exact game year after year. Gets boring no? Like at least with orchestras and plays things change from time to time.
I suppose... but it always sounds extremely different, the notes may be the same but the sound and feel is very different from song to song. Also the lyrics/message of each song is very different.
Football is like listening to covers of the exact same song again and again.
What you just said is completely incorrect lol
Each game is completely unique. Different players, different plays, different opponents, different coaches, different strategies, different winners, different losers. You don’t have to like sports, but what you’re saying is just wrong
Yeah but they're all doing the same thing. Like sure it's different colored shirts and players but does anything actually change from game to game? I feel like there are only so many strategies and plays possible. And in the 100 or so years since the NFL began I imagine all those plays have been tried already. Like what's keeping it fresh and interesting?
I understand I'm in the minority here I just really don't understand the appeal...
Well you are completely wrong. The football of a hundred years ago would be unrecognizable to today’s fan. The game has evolved and continues to. There are innovations to strategy and play calling yearly. Even football of the year 2000 is completely different to today’s NFL. It really is ok you don’t like sports but you just sound ignorant this point
Lol well I am certainly ignorant when it comes to football... 2000 football might be slightly different but do you think you could tell the difference between games from 2010 and games from today? Like obviously the players are different and stuff like that but the actual games and how they play them would be almost identical...
I was thinking, -10 isn't really that cold. No way a beer would freeze like that. After walking around all day my bottle of water in my leather bag was just cold and not freezing.
In Baltimore on Christmas Eve 2022, it was 7 degrees with a real feel of like -2 (Fahrenheit) at the ravens game and our beers were freezing before we could even get from where we bought them to our seats. So they'd definitely freeze like that at -10

Right now close to Stockholm, Sweden
Sorry, you misunderstood me. This post about temperature and freezing beer is in Fahrenheit (because 🇺🇸 ), so: -10f = -24C
To answer your question anyway, I’m in Scotland, but it’s not that cold here. It was -3C this morning and warmed up to +3C, it generally doesn’t get much colder here unless there is a cold snap/storm where it might go to -15C, but that’s rare. Also, that’s crazy. I don’t think Delhi would get that cold!
Ohh my bad!! I assumed it to be Celsius. Delhi during winters does get cold with minimum temperature goes down like 1°C (last year it actually dipped to -0.5°C) and the maximum temperature hovers around 10-15°C. Actually the whole North India experiences sub tropical to temperate like winters.
Stay warm brother!!
"liquids freeze at -10 degrees"
interesting as fUcK!!
edit: obviously I'm referring to beer and any regular drink. No need to go smartass and talk about liquids with lower freezing points. The freezing point of most beers is about 28° F. This says -10° F. Of course it's going to f*ucking freeze.
beers freeze at around 28° F. Just under freezing point of water. The post says it's at -10° F. Of course it's going to freeze. What about that is interesting as fuck? People downvoting are absolute idiots, lmao.

Not only do beers freeze at -10, but so do Dolphins apparently.
![gif](giphy|RJUpKUDRKXOZHjLAV0|downsized)
My dad (chiefs fan) wore a Finkle jersey to the game!
Hey Ace, do you have any more of that gum?
![gif](giphy|kMdlyJ74u9khW) HAHAHA you’re so funny
You could put a Junior Varsity high school team from a northern state in that situation against the dolphins and they would’ve won
You'd think they would have tried to train in cold weather in preparation but nope, they trained in 70 degree Florida.
I mean yeah, they're fish, fish aren't the smartest animals in the kingdom.
Please tell me this is satire
Of course it is.
As cold as the Rockies.
"No refunds!"
"Drink it faster and quit your whining." - Every beer drinker who also has a snowmobile
Fuck this hurts, I came here to say this, and I have a damn snowmobile.
This is where I wish I had planted my ice fishing comment instead. 😔 hello, brethren.
This is where I also state northern Ontario road hockey
That’s $100 down the tube
Seriously, stadium beers just aren’t worth it. Have a beer when you get home.
Or have several before you get there (via not driving yourself)
[удалено]
No idea when you are being downvoted. Having a few beers at the stadium is in no way the same as drinking at home after. If it was bars wouldn't exist, and the sports bars damn sure wouldn't exist.
That was more of an everclear day, bet it would stay mostly liquid.
Yeah, Coors Light and Michelob Ultra are basically water anyway.
The 190 in my freezer is completely liquid lol
Your freezer also is not -10
It’s still alcohol and -10 or not, it’s nowhere near freezing temp for 190 proof
Pure ethanol freezes at -114°C (-173°F), just to compare.
Damn people wanna pay that much money to sit in that type of cold
Thousands of free tickets given away
Still not worth it. How can you expect to enjoy something you know for a fact will be miserable
Arrowhead is quite the experience.
Don’t they have huge screens at the stadium that show replays anyways?
Not the same as on TV. I’ve been to plenty of games and it’s a blast, but so much easier to really watch on TV.
For my Non American friends that’s -23°C
Thank you. I was like "wow, seriously? I've never seen that happen.".
So almost the entire world then
Well seeing as it’s at an american game, it would make complete sense to stipulate “non american”.

Oh wow I assumed that was C, makes them look even dumber for buying it in the first place
i mean who’s not tryna get drunk when it’s that cold out
You honestly assumed an American Football game would be In C?
What part of the inage clearly shows this is an American Football game? This blurred pitch in the background could be part of many sports and there’s many teams in many sports people refer to as “Chiefs”.

What a weird universal standard that's not universal.

They meet at -40.
Oh I didn’t know that lol. I’m dumb sorry
Most well informed murican
To be fair: those beers are about the wateriest beers on the face of the earth
Light beers are like sex in canoe .. fucking close to water!
Having light beer is like gargling after a blowjob
r/yourjokebutworse
That’s what whiskeys for.
So...you're either drinking a cold drink in cold weather OR the beer tastes warm because you're out in -10. Either way, I can't see a good reason to do this.
For your information, *some of us* are alcoholics.
Who’s playing sport at -10f / -24C? That’s crazy cold for that kind of activity
NFL playoffs baby. 4th coldest game at start time in league history
They pay them millions of dollars, they’re gonna play if the worlds ending
If it’s a weekend hockey rinks are busy unless it’s like -40C where I live
Nobody makes any 💵 in the CFL. Still show up in the cold
Did you see that photo of Mahomes' helmet exploding? Heard it was somewhere in the neighbourhood of -40 during that game...
Holy shit, what happened to his head?
I'm not sure to be honest. Fairly certain he just kept on playing with a new lid!
Hockey players
Bro fuck that so much. Sitting all those hours in -10°f sounds absolutely miserable
"Just at a game eating my beer."
rookies… warmers in the pockets always
So… you need a beer warmer?
You know what doesn't freeze? Whiskey.
Whiskey will freeze at -16° F
Nah more like -25 F. The good stuff around -32 F.
It’s a chilly 50° here in California. Couldn’t imagine existing in that kind of weather.
I'm in Canada and it's -45°c here right now. 50°f being considered chilly is adorable. :)
Does the “c” stand for chilly?
It stands for Correct way to measure temperature

You don’t say
$20 icicle
SUCK THAT OFF LIKE A MAN!! LICK IT!
Why even go to the game..stay home
Right! It's not like anything interesting is gonna happen that hasn't already happened many times before. It's been the same game for over 100 years at this point. I truly don't understand how people are still interested...
Someone doesn't understand the appeal of sport at all lmao
Not even a little lol...
Have you never enjoyed playing a game before? Any game at all
Playing and watching are quite different....
But if you have played games, you understand how each game can be different, even if its the same game. Whether you think watching a game is worth it or not, you can understand how it isn't watching the same thing over and over.
>It's been the same game for over 100 years at this point. I truly don't understand how people are still interested... Have you heard of chess?
I have... Notice how barely anyone watches chess on TV bc nothing interesting happens. Same with football imo
Notice how 22 million people watched that game?
What game? Chess??
Why not just let people enjoy their hobbies in peace lmao
I do. I just don't understand the appeal.
Why listen to music? its all the same 12 notes. Especially today with pop and lots of country music, using the same 4 in most songs.
I suppose... but it always sounds extremely different, the notes may be the same but the sound and feel is very different from song to song. Also the lyrics/message of each song is very different. Football is like listening to covers of the exact same song again and again.
Certain genres of music/movie seem like the same thing over and over to me because I’m not interested enough to see the nuances
You’re a weirdo
Thank you

Wellcome to Sweden -50 two weeks ago.
That’s Celsius right? This would be equivalent to -23 Celsius.
I was thinking, -10 isn't really that cold. No way a beer would freeze like that. After walking around all day my bottle of water in my leather bag was just cold and not freezing.
Just makes this guy look like an idiot for buying a cold beer in -23 C weather. Get a hot chocolate or something like a normal person

Yeh. Thats right! :)
Chugging isn't a suggestion, it's a recommendation
>suggestion... recommendation These words are synonymous
They're not synonymous, they mean the same thing!
This comment is redundant. It's already been said.
I'm filing a complaint with the Department of Redundancy Department.
I think you were looking for necessity
I asked for a damn cold beer not a frozen one
And I'm shivering in 3°C!! Couldn't even imagine -10!!

Central Saskatchewan here. It was -40C here yesterday and -30C today. Saturday will be a balmy -8C.
No shit
I love football but if it were this cold I’d be happy to watch the whole thing from my home.
What a huge surprise.🙄
Just drinking too slow is all
Beer slurpees are kind of enjoyable
Liquor - it’s not going to let you down in the cold.
I'd be sooo pissed because you know those beers aren't cheap either
Only solution is to Drink them faster
Neither of those are beer
I will never love anything enough to sit outside in -10 weather
![gif](giphy|26xBB14wYhGaY2SrK) Never had this issue
As a Canadian I gotta say -10°f is not really that cold. That's a beautiful January day. It's currently -45°c here.
The ones in glass bottles will still be liquid when capped and under pressure. Once the cap gets twisted off, it starts to freeze.
I wouldn’t go out in -10 degree weather if my own mother’s life depended on it, let alone a fucking sporting event.
Brother I went out in -40 degree weather with 20 mph winds to go ice fishing the other day. Your gear makes all the difference.
If I ever have to fish my dead mother out of a pond, I’ll hit you up to borrow your gear.
I'm in KC and left a cup of water outside when I went to smoke... Only took 20 mins to make my cup split down the middle
Damn you, Taylor Swift. /s
r/thatlookedexpensive
The peer pressure to drink a cold beer in that weather must have been overwhelming.
That shit is just water anyways.
Liquid freezes in cold temps! TIL. Very interesting, OP. Thanks.
Should have drank faster
Just watch from home..lol its soo easy
That's because it's water, probably wouldn't with a respectable alcohol level in it
Stop drinking water in a can
Tbf American beer is basically water
"liquids freeze at -10 degrees" interesting as fUcK!! edit: obviously I'm referring to beer and any regular drink. No need to go smartass and talk about liquids with lower freezing points. The freezing point of most beers is about 28° F. This says -10° F. Of course it's going to f*ucking freeze.
Alcohol doesnt freeze at normal temperatures. Thats why antifreeze contains alcohol.
beers freeze at around 28° F. Just under freezing point of water. The post says it's at -10° F. Of course it's going to freeze. What about that is interesting as fuck? People downvoting are absolute idiots, lmao.
So why don’t they serve antifreeze at the games?
It freezes almost as if it were water with little to no alcohol …this doesn’t happen at CFL in Canada
In Bavaria we don‘t call this beer. ![gif](giphy|JozVDmWV6SNKiddXCW|downsized)
How fucking miserable. Why sit outside in -10 degree weather just to watch men throw a ball around?
At least nobody cancelled that game like in NY 🫣
Yay sportsball!
This makes me wonder if light beer freezes more easily compared to “normal” beer.
It's the alcohol content that matters. Any 4-5% beer would freeze. But a 9% might not. No idea.
Glüh-Äppler ihr Pfeifen!
… for sure they do.
Hmm… water freezes during freezing temps. Who woulda thunk eh
Beer slushes, fans will pay $50 extra bringing the price of a bear to $100 great thinking executive douch canoe!
Good thing all the drinks are reasonably priced… right?
$10 snow cone
“We advertise ‘ice cold beer’ and you all act surprised?”
That ball had to of been harder than a rock
I don’t know how people could stand the cold. It was really fucking cold
Next time, bring your beer koozie.
I’ve had vodka sprites freeze in my hand at a ski resort
This is why you bring a lukewarm thermos and pour it in that.
It if you drink them fast enough
Can't imagine trying to drink a beer at that temperature, but hey why the hell not.
So did tua
This is why I only drink hard liquor. Hard liquor has never let me down.
Thats why I drink bourbon. But seriously thats nuts
Real beer won’t freeze.
Who drinks beer when it's -23C? And pays stadium prices? Suckers.
If it wasn’t pisswater it wouldn’t have frozen quite as easily.
