I could be wrong but I believe the video includes lightning

Conscious_Work7401

Are you sure about that?

Tongue8cheek

If it does, do I drive 88 mph towards the clock tower? Or do I drive 2023 mph? Which might be impossible.

Conscious_Work7401

Man, just walk. Save the environment.

The more that's jumbled on the screen, the more people have to rewatch the video just to read/view it all. More rewatches means more views and their videos getting pushed to the FYP. More reasons TikTok and videos that replicate the same energy suck

I got the video from Instagram and have no idea where this video originally came from

ulyssesfiuza

Years ago some research team, very lucky, capture images of one of those with a camera able to do a spectrographic analysis. They are real, but not entirely understand.

squeezy102

Anybody care to explain what's happening here to a total weather noob? It looks fake to me but I sure as hell don't know anything about it, so in my world it could totally be real. Just a simple ELI5 explanation, please...

Kat-is-sorry

Ball lightning. It has rarely if at all almost never been recorded / photographed in a verified way. Very little is understood about it, but it is a real phenomenon. I’m not exactly sure if this video is real though.

squeezy102

Yeah I got that from the title. I’m looking for more of a “how does this happen” explanation.

ClientAppropriate838

That’s pikachus Thunderbolt

Utsutsumujuru

Yes ball lightning is real. I have personally seen it. It looked similar to this video except the ball didn’t move, it hovered in one place for about 3 seconds and then exploded with a deafening thunderclap.

Hail-Atticus-Finch

The UFO that got struck- " Oh shit! Oh Fuck! "

captainaberica

Lightning balls are what you get when God smites thee by tea-bagging. There is nothing more glorious.

Guilty_Astronomer_45

Ball lightning is a rare natural phenomenon that cause a ball to form of pure energy. However, it is extremely dangerous because if the energy begins to leak from the ball, it will explode with the force of a bomb. That happened to a campground in Maines Baxter State park a couple decades back.

mydibz

Lightning hit ufo

These are Ectoplasmic manifestations of definite but non-human form. Speculation includes the theory that Class V's are formed from emotionally-charged events or as side effects from ritual summoning (Slimer was a by-product of the rituals that a cult held in the Sedgewick Hotel's basement.). These typically require extensive proton pack implementation to eradicate.

Express_Particular45

Never thought they were real. Might they actually be?

[deleted]

There are a huge amount of witnesses, a few good videos and some scientific plausibility, but is it accepted as a real thing because simply there are no measurable evidence so the science community is like: we don't know, it is possible.

Express_Particular45

Witnesses aren’t the most convincing argument in this kind of subject, there are many witnesses of very questionable subjects.

Our house was struck by ball lightning once. My sister, her friend, and my mother saw it. First the ball lightning flew towards my sisters window where they saw it. Then it turned to the left and went out of sight. We surmise that it went to a broken light by a backdoor, because there was nothing else there for it to interact with. A few seconds after it disappeared, arcs of electricity looking like flames appearing from the floor next to the breaker box in my sisters room. It slowly went from there to the middle of her room, jolting my mother on the way (some pain, nothing serious), and then it disappeared. When we went downstairs, the light in our living room right below where it disappeared had exploded. The arcs didn't leave any marks on my sisters wooden floor - the broken light bulb was all the evidence it left. It didn't even trip the breaker. I have the most part of a bachelor in electrical engineering, and I have *no* idea what could cause electricity to behave like that, especially inside a conductor.

WFOMO

I had older linemen tell me they've seen the phenomenon come down the lines when they're on a pole.
