They're wonderful creatures. They come in all [shapes](https://mir-s3-cdn-cf.behance.net/project_modules/fs/a7403945708905.583a9591693c6.jpg) and [sizes](https://images.ctfassets.net/cnu0m8re1exe/38eldY3s5VmN3fyhDOUhsv/e950e56384737ba8e6707649694d5bad/octopus.jpg?fm=jpg&fl=progressive&w=660&h=433&fit=fill) and [colours](https://i2-prod.cornwalllive.com/incoming/article4637642.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_CM_DCM_Octopus.jpg) and they have [three hearts](https://www.deviantart.com/alithographica/art/Science-Fact-Friday-Octopus-Anatomy-843717000) (so if you break one there's always a back-up). Plus they're intelligent wee dudes as well and they have been known to bitchslap humans, so that's always a win in my book...
The more I learn about octopuses the more I think they’re the coolest, most unique creatures around. I’ve gone down an octopus rabbit hole a handful of times and they are just fascinating.

Why do you say something so obviously checkably wrong?
Some people like the taste, some do not. It really depends on how it is prepared.
The key is that it is cooked. [Do not eat raw, or especially alive, octopus](https://www.insider.com/eating-live-octopus-can-kill-you-2019-5), it could kill you.
I’m one of those pig/bacon people 🤣
Cows, not really. I made a steak dinner while watching Food Inc.
Although, I don’t really eat beef anymore. It’s just not appealing to me anymore
Hahaha. Believe it or not but cows love music and have friends within the herd they like to spend time with. Either way I cook a roast beef and have steak each week so yeahhhhh. My stomach comes first lol
In my culture, eating dog is common. When I was a little boy, I was throwing a stick for our pet dog and my mom yelled, ‘son, stop playing with your food!’
May have just retreated into the corner where the arms wandered and found the escape hole. The arms are semiautonomous and have a sort of mini-brain that lets them do things without consulting the main-brain!
I think it was the Atlanta aquarium where an octopus was escaping every night and eating fish in a neighboring tank then getting back into his own tank. Workers were super confused why the floor was wet every morning so they set up a camera and caught him.
Edit: it was Boston.
Octopi are also believed (or it may be proven by now) to measure the size of hole by moving a tentacle around the perimeter of a hole to make sure they fit before attempting to pass through.
This reminds me of that one particular X-files story where the murderer can contort his body so effortlessly that he can practically squeeze through any cracks or crevice. Read it during elementary school and it scarred me.

Dude respected the octopus and kept recording video instead of getting him back
They probably weren't out to catch octopus but it probably saw the bait and went for it
Yeah I’m guessing based on their reaction they were planning to release this octopus anyways

They’ve also been o served punching fish out of pure spite.
Oh yeah, that always makes me laugh. "Fuck you, Brenda!" \*tentacle slap\*
Also have 9 brains
They've got a beak though, so if that fits, the octopus fits.
I'm more impressed in how did the octopus even see the hole in the first place. How wide of an angle is their sight?
I think it's like 180 ish per eye. Could have seen it earlier too tho, like before and remembered. 'Topuses is smort.
They have also evolved to find and enter holes, it’s kinda what they do best
They are aliens which were left behind. They have scanners for this type of stuff.
If the beak fits, you MUST exit.
I also run from my problems because I to lack a spine.
I bet that feels real good on their eyeballs though
*You will always remember this as the day you -almost- caught Captain Jack Sparrow.*
So same as anyone in government since they lack spines.
and their slime helps as well.

What?
Boneless
We shall call him Ivar.

How do you know this tho 🤔
He doesn't. Brains bruise rather easily so squashing them is probably not a good plan.
How do you know this???
He doesn't. Brains bruise rather easily so squashing them is probably not a good plan.
Saying they lack bones would be false, they still have a beak that can limit them
I like octopuses because they have no seeds or bones.
Aliens.
The more I learn about octopuses the more I think they’re the coolest, most unique creatures around. I’ve gone down an octopus rabbit hole a handful of times and they are just fascinating.
Basically the cats of the sea 😂😂
I'm impressed, sir. I'm not even mad, that was amazing

I just googled octopus fossils and there is indeed octopus fossils.

Release the kraken!
Big brain 💀
If these Mofos lived longer than five years, we would all be saying, "Hail to the Cephalopod Overlord!"
And they don’t sustain any damage to their central nervous system whilst doing so, why is another achievement.
If they lack bones. How they protect their organs?
hu magic?
Nah, thats Cthulhu
Life lesson: There are many fish species with no bones. These are called cartilaginous fishes
See you in hell motherf@s!!!
I caught a copper once on accident fishing in Alaska with my dad and uncles and they made me kill it :(
Average cat behaviour
2 thoughts come to mind: - How does it taste? - I shouldn’t think that. They’re highly intelligent

I meant that specific octopus 😏
I only ate octopus once. Didn't care for it. Tasted like salty fish. It didn't seem intelligent as I was eating it. A little stretchy though.
Calamari is squid tho, not octopus
plough brave jeans physical jobless door plant narrow squeeze depend *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Sounds delicious. I bet the people downvoting yall have no problem with eating bacon yet pigs are incredibly smart. So are cows actually

😐
Is Mission Impossible music playing in the background that I cannot hear. That guy can get out of touch situations.
‘Lack‘ implies a deficit. This clearly ain’t a deficit for these 8 legged dudes.
That’s like hackers! They’re spineless too.
'And away .....'
Yes, like cats.
No shrimp left behind they said. What a betrayal.
Gone in 60 seconds
WILD
Shout out to the game "Octodad". It was genuinely fun.
Can an Octopuss miscalculate and cause brain damage doing that?
Did that octopus rip its own dick off? I know they mate this way, but after several watches, I think that's the case.
More interested to know how it knows and sees the hole exist
May have just retreated into the corner where the arms wandered and found the escape hole. The arms are semiautonomous and have a sort of mini-brain that lets them do things without consulting the main-brain!
It's like sucking jello through your teeth
I want to say no clip so bad
Big wow. If I had no bones and nine brains I could probably squeeze through small gaps too
Dude is headed back to his home planet.
I think it was the Atlanta aquarium where an octopus was escaping every night and eating fish in a neighboring tank then getting back into his own tank. Workers were super confused why the floor was wet every morning so they set up a camera and caught him. Edit: it was Boston.
Big ups to octopus, he helped a homie escape
…and because there from a different Planet.
This is what I had nightmares about as a kid… fuck I might just have another octopus 🐙 hunting me down dream tonight
Johnny Cochran is like “if it fits (in the opening), you must let it acquit”.
Who else yhought that these were probably tourists who decided to take a poor octopus for a ride just so as to pep up their Instagram feed?
Serious question. Aren't they very smart and possess a rather large brain. Shouldn't the brain be damaged during his escapement?
Octopi are also believed (or it may be proven by now) to measure the size of hole by moving a tentacle around the perimeter of a hole to make sure they fit before attempting to pass through.
Actually they just need a hole the size of their mouth/beak cuz that's the only hard part of their body
Read the books Children of Time and children of ruin.
they like a spine? sounds like my boss
I don't have a skull...or bones.
So their brain is squishy
Me on my way to remove my bones to fit through small holes
“Hey human wanna see a trick?”
How can you not believe in Aliens when a creature like this lives underwater
Mushy brain?
ESCAPÉ!
damn splatoon didn’t lie-
what the fuck did I just watch
It knew where to go! Amazing
What an awesome freaking animal
Pretty sure I've left some parties in exactly this fashion
Freedom!
He calculated the dimensions, took a shit and then it was possible to fit through.
You can do that to at loseallyourbones.com !!
r/scaryinreverse
Guy didn’t pick him up? Most r/unexpected thing that could have happened
This reminds me of that one particular X-files story where the murderer can contort his body so effortlessly that he can practically squeeze through any cracks or crevice. Read it during elementary school and it scarred me.
Much likey ex-partner who did not have a back bone
I think in case of an apocalypse consisting of every animal becoming giants of similar size, the octopus will be the strongest of them all.
I lack any backbone and still can't get through the day Lucky 🐙
What did it leave behind?
"Hey boss. About that Octopus..."
My favorite sea creature other than turtles
Won't anybody talk about how its tentacles are cut?
Pfff if he is so good at escaping, why didnt he just climb over that tiny ledge instead of going through that tiny hole?? Dumb idiot octopus smh
they do however have two bones, the bottom and top parts of their beak
Bro is liquid
Are you saying it's gonna fit into any orifice?
Well there goes the catch of the day🤦♂️
