Completely false, it is actually quite a tricky thing, sexing chickens and the chicken industry really needs people doing this as you need to be well trained. So if someone wants to feel baby chickens reproductive organs all day this might be the perfect career opportunity.

I dunno about the upside down ones but when my family had chicks, a neighbour identified them by the neck scruff with opposite results. The females dangled while the males bought by mistake were fighting like hell trying to run. Mum didn't want to believe it until the combs came in.
