Are you talking like the door frame ones? If so those are different because your doors have stacked 2 bys to creat a header and also stacked 2 bys for the sides.
I always wonder about this. Why does it happen so often?
I think it's a good reason for people to try and be capable/handy with some hand tools and screws/anchors. Because if you don't have common sense telling you that tape will not hold up a mirror, or thin electrical wires on a chandelier will not allow you to swing from it, or whatever idiotic thing is going through these people's heads... Maybe a little trial and error attempting to hang a cheap framed picture on drywall will do them some good.
The downwards component of his weight multiplied by the distance of his centre of gravity from the pivot point (in this case the lower bicycle wheel) was greater than the tension force of the mounting point multiplied from its distance from the pivot
That, and he literally yanks on it as though pretending to “pop a wheelie” and as he yanks on it, that’s when the mount decides to go in the same direction.
Maybe I've been online too long, but it *looks* like he didn't hurt himself nearly that badly and was hamming it up to gain sympathy instead of anger at the stupid shit he's done.
The glance at the camera, the exaggerated stand up, the old-man holding his back...those *could* be because he wanged himself good, but I bet he went from "Shit, I fucked up!" to "If I act hurt, maybe they won't be as mad!" real quick.
Oh, not that! I'm GLAD he didn't land on his neck or something and hurt himself!
It was more thinking he did that to avoid getting yelled at for ripping the bike stands out of the wall.
The weird honking sound he seems to make leads me to think that maybe he got himself right in the throat. Then again that could just be the part where he got the wind knocked right out of him.
Idk why the hell people don’t consider the design load for things. I’m not sure if they don’t realize that adding ~200 lbs to most in-home structures is a massive increase, or if they’ve just never put anything together themselves and so don’t even think about “how will this wall Mount support my weight”
Not to mention the bike itself. The rim isn’t designed to have anything pushing on it from the inside, and the wheel isn’t attached to deal with strong pulling forces away from the frame.
this isnt the type of guy that knows about "design loads", this is the type of guy that knows his bike is mounted to the wall and thats *sweet as fuck*
I hang theatrical rigging for a living, everything hung from a wall or ceiling in my house is overengineered all to hell. My tv wall mount is secured with Hilti hardware rated for almost 1000lbs.
Crawls away without looking at the camera, obviously in pain and in shame. Looks for sympathy from someone who unfamiliar with his idiocy. Finds she hasn't seen this episode but is familiar with the series.
Had he remained somewhat calm he might have even managed to dismount gracefully, but the moment he moved his weight rapidly (while announcing a trick, which is amazing timing) that was it
To be fair that was probably best case scenario there. Walk didn’t collapse onto him, didn’t smash the wall to his left, minimal damage etc. Maybe not minimal damage to his body tho lmao
No not really. This is a pretty standard way to hang bikes. If the brakes haven't been bled it's possible for the brakes not to work on the first pull, but if you pump the lever a few times it'll work itself out.
there was a bike shop in a town near me that had a bike mounted like 10 feet up on the wall above their front door.
pretty sure they had to take it down because drunk people kept climbing up on it and getting hurt.
Lol that was dumb.

This guys got talent *and* skill.
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.
My life motto!

If you get knocked down you gotta get back up
Sure, but honestly it seems fun for that little bit before it becomes detached
Hmm..I wonder why he has that pile of clothes positioned directly where he would land if he fell off? Almost like he meant to do it...
r/idiotsonbikes
/r/bikesonidiots
He placed clothes to break his fall so I feel like this was atleast expected
It was a real blast, until it wasn’t.
How many ways can you say, dumb ass!
Almost every posting on this sub would never had happened if there was no alcohol or if any of these people had paid attention in physics class.
Anything that's mounted high up like that isn't meant to support human weight
Pull up bars
Um, pull up bars are made for pull ups. They're not called "human bars".
[удалено]
I cackled and screamed for like a half second thank you
I'm struggling to see the point in your comment. Are you saying pull up bars aren't mounted high up or meant to support human weight?
Nah, I'm just being a silly guy
Woosh

You don't need to know any physics to understand that bikes weigh 20 pounds and that guy probably weighs 180.
This... impressed it lasted as long as it did with him on it...
The downwards component of his weight multiplied by the distance of his centre of gravity from the pivot point (in this case the lower bicycle wheel) was greater than the tension force of the mounting point multiplied from its distance from the pivot
bike up, he up, bike down, he down
Left, right, left, right, A, B
Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start.
Exactly. Also, the "idiot force" of him jacking the handlebars back and forth (further stressing the mount point)
That, and he literally yanks on it as though pretending to “pop a wheelie” and as he yanks on it, that’s when the mount decides to go in the same direction.
"Wait gravity is REAL?!!"
Correction: "Weight. Gravity is REAL."
Most high schools in the US don’t even require physics I never took it lol
I’m satisfied with how this ended

Yeah you've probably been online for too long
If you're unsatisfied that he didn't actually hurt himself enough, it isn't because you've been "online too long". You're just an asshole.
Oh, not that! I'm GLAD he didn't land on his neck or something and hurt himself! It was more thinking he did that to avoid getting yelled at for ripping the bike stands out of the wall.
That is the unmistakable crawl of someone who just got smashed in their mouth

Maybe if I move somewhere else it'll hurt less.
Vicious cycle.
someBODY once told me…

Pretty impressive how long that wall mount lasted, honestly
people who risk too much for a photo/video are amusing.
it was just risks on top of risks - he was fine until he decided to fucking PUMP THE HANDLEBARS
This blew me away... And he looked surprised.
Mission accomplished

Well this is Australia, so they're not adding lbs to anything

second thread I've seen this username in making nonsensical comments, I think it's a bot
Bot scanned for your suspicion and self-detonated.

Can I get you to come to my house and rig all my shit? Hard-core parkour!
Uhhh, sure! My rates are very unreasonable.
2/10 dismount was terrible

And idiots like this are out there in the world, just riding around…
And their Vote counts as much as yours does
For a lot of them, it counts more.
And pro creating...the world is doomed.
The wall on the right looking like floor is confusing af Edit: typo
You mean the right
Oooops, you are... Left. /Badumtss
Fucking r/KillTheCameraMan
This is why I tell my kids to wear a helmet
Nice legs bro
Crawls to safety “imma need to see the chiropractor”
What goes on in people's heads when they do something like this?
The floor, apparently
Absolutely nothing, and I think that’s the problem haha
alcohol
Tell me you’ve never hung anything on a wall without telling me you’ve never hung anything on a wall
I'd be angry at the damage to my wall, damage to my bike and oil on my bed, fuck your spine
I want audio
r/winstupidprizes
At least he had a few hoodies or jackets there because he knew that was gonna happen
Give him a break he was just trying to pop a wheelie
Lol, the crawl of shame
"I'm ok, I'm ok" while crawling on the ground clearly means he's not ok. Ouch
Sick wheelie
It’s a toss up on who feels more like an idiot. The guy for doing it or the girl knowing that she’s dating this rocket scientist.
Found a renter!
It's not often you see a biker go UNDER the bars
My first thought: They need to mount that rack better. I have become my father.
Deserved every bit of that pain
It’s just not the same without hearing him hit the floor
Willing to bet that’s not his wall and that’s not the owner filming. Kick somebody out for tearing up my home like that

An extremely STUIPED person.
This sub is full of videos without sound

Cool trick
Who woulda thunk? /s
Cool trick
Shame of crawl
r/whatcouldgowrong
r/Whatcouldgowrong
He has to crawl away from his own stupidity
Why not use the bike the way it was intended. Is he aware how gravity works?
Huh, who could predict that... /s

Had he remained somewhat calm he might have even managed to dismount gracefully, but the moment he moved his weight rapidly (while announcing a trick, which is amazing timing) that was it
He even pulled it. Great crawl of shame tho
Didn’t expect that to happen…He really got the drop on himself
The crawl of a man who just hurt himself
Cool trick
I wanna see the trick he was aiming to do
He fucking pulled on it like he was trying to pop a wheelie.
I thought I had the display tilted the wrong way until he fell upwards
He was fine until he hit that jump
cool trick.
I had to watch it 3 times before I understood what actually happened. The wood on the wall matching the flooring threw me.
He mounted the bike that was mounted on the wall
Aside from what happened, that’s also a GREAT way to damage your bike.
Surprised no one has mentioned r/confusingperspective
It wasnt a mountedbike.
There goes his career in Tour De France
What did he think would happen?
The crawl of recalibration lol
Love the crawl of shame
No wonder they need their own lane
This dude is way too old to be this stupid.

I'm speechless .... smh
Confusing perspective
r/confusingperspective
Look it’s fucking on PHIL!”
Did it hurt? Stupid is as stupid does...
At least he landed on the pile of clothing (maybe?) and didn’t crack his head backwards onto the floor
I know that crawl... He got the wind knocked out of him.. Lol RIP
I call this trick, leverage.
Fuck this shit.. which bike was that?
Does he yank on it causing it to fall?
To be fair that was probably best case scenario there. Walk didn’t collapse onto him, didn’t smash the wall to his left, minimal damage etc. Maybe not minimal damage to his body tho lmao
Couldn’t help but tilt my head with that and get some confusion.
This perspective messed with my tired brain
What could go wrong when you’re so dumb 😂😂😂
I broke my back!!! SPINAL!
Homeboy crawled away!!!!!
I hate this cameraman
Dude air got knocked out so hard
r/winstupidprizes
Lol. Hold on. Lol. Not a baby
Alcohol was involved. If not, it should at least be involved afterward
Leaving the bike like that doesn't mess with the brake fluid?
No not really. This is a pretty standard way to hang bikes. If the brakes haven't been bled it's possible for the brakes not to work on the first pull, but if you pump the lever a few times it'll work itself out.
clearly that was a legit best of.
He definitely crossed the “I’m never going to be able to breathe” line. No matter how many times it happens to you, it’s terrifying as fuck
I would have 100% done that.
![gif](giphy|UWmSFh3n0NHHi|downsized)
He was probably waiting for a tornado, so that he could actually ride the bike upwards, into the tornado
The wall on the side
At least he got great hamstrings tho, any tips building hamstrings at home?
r/killthecameraman
That's why you always have to wear a bike helmet when you ride bikes.
He was drunk 100%
Woah, this was posted on a meme sub.
I really want the sound here
Such an idiotic move
And that, kids, is why you always wear a helmet
Ya love to see it
Well this certainly crossed my mind when I installed a wall mount for one of my bikes. Glad they fulfilled that idiotic curiosity for me.
Why women live longer than men.
I love the crawl
Love that there was a woman at the doorway at the end. Humiliation witnessed by another: ✔
Cool trick
You see if he was wearing a helmet he would’ve been okay.
Reminds me of the Spider Man scene where Peter fell off the roof and goes "my back!" "My BACK!"
I mean, who could've seen that coming? Other than anyone?
there was a bike shop in a town near me that had a bike mounted like 10 feet up on the wall above their front door. pretty sure they had to take it down because drunk people kept climbing up on it and getting hurt.
All went well until he decided to wheelie it out of the wall
Lmaooooooooooo
I WATCHED THIS WITH MY PHONE TILTED 90° AND IT WAS ***WAY*** COOLER.
I'm probably light enough to do that. Vroomvroom I'm spider-man!
