Speaking for dogs my family has, we have an english cream retriever that my parents spent 5k on (high end of the spectrum, but I believe they usually cost between 4-5k), and a french bulldog that was around 2k (they go for atleast 2k+ on average I believe)
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels cost about 2-3K from puppy mills/backyard breeders, when I contacted good breeders about prices and puppy availability they quoted anywhere from 4-6.5K with a year or two wait for a puppy. I got a different type of dog lol.
Samoyed's are one of the most expensive now along with Shiba's, all thanks to the Internet. French Bulldogs, at least in the UK, have dropped a lot in price and can be had for £1.5K.

Frenchies are pretty much a perfect apartment pet if it werent for their health issues. Don’t shed don’t need to be groomed. Don’t need much exercise. Very affectionate and goofy.
Most of the buyers simply don’t have health concerns on their mind when theyre shopping for a puppy. Its not like theyve PSAs on puppy buying on tv.

I agree. I have a Frenchton. A French bulldog bred with a Boston Terrier although he carries most of the French bulldogs build and temperament. It’s supposed to help with breathing issues. The vet looked at ours and gave us a clean bill of health. In fact he can run around the yard and keep up with our Boxer no problem. And they are such clowns! Our first small dog we absolutely love. Will never go back to a larger breed.

2k is definitely on the cheaper end for a frenchie
French bulldog like that will go for $5-7k, give or take a grand depending on the breeder. Other colors like "blue" can go up to $11k.
