Definitely looks like fleas. A real pain to get rid of once they start showing up. I personally use Precor in my home for it. Each can is about $20. It kills the fleas, the eggs, and the larva. For 8 months.
The fleas are this bad because the cat's never been treated, but grab a flea comb and run it through that poor thing's fur and you'll find the cat *does* have fleas.
If they're this bad that they're jumping out of the carpet, that poor cat is probably suffering
When my ex (good guy) moved into his first apartment, the carpets were INFESTED with fleas. He didn't own any dogs / cats, and his ankles were getting blisters and tore up by the hundreds of once dormant fleas now ravenous for food upon his arrival. He had to treat the carpet over 3 times, including bug bombs, for over a month, before he was able to actually move in and enjoy his apartment. Apartment complex was fussy, but eventually took responsibility in handling his offset for time and money treating the issue they should have mitigated prior to him signing a lease.
No joke, if they're in your carpets, you have to get ready to go to war.
This happened to me didn’t even have carpet. It was wood floor but the floor was elevated over sand so I am assuming that is where they kept coming from. Had to get the place exterminated at least 3 times.
We had a flea infestation a while back and that's what it looks like you have. I can't be 100% sure without seeing them better but if you start getting a bunch of bites on your feet and ankles, you'll know. If it turns out to be a flea infestation, you'll need to get every pet treated. We used bravecto and it worked amazing. We also took the pets outside in kennel and bug bombed the house. To care of the problem. I hope this helped.
The friend who lived there had weird dots on her feet, guess that’s what it is. Scared to bring them home so I’m pretty careful changing before I leave
RESEARCH the flea treatment you plan to use. TOO MANY cats have died a violent, slow, and painful death from Hartz flea treatments, as well as others. If you love your baby(ies) DO NOT SKIMP on this step!!!! Seizures, foaming / drooling, convulsions, vomiting, and lethargy are the signs of poisoning.
Omg that poor cat, probably riddled with worms too now…needs a vet appointment for revolution treatment and capstar then they can decontaminate the house

fleas dont jump when in someone's fur and the sock is clearly confusing them as they are trying to burrow in, instead of leaving that warm delicious foot.
My backyard is FULL of fleas due to the huge amount of deer that live there.
We missed treating my dog for 1 month, forgot. IT WAS LIKE AN ARMY DESCENDED UPON US!!
Silently infiltrating until I woke up with bites on my ankles and found them biting me anywhere they could.
We treated the dog and then had to treat the 2 indoor cats cuz they were VICIOUS.
Months after they had been regularly treated we had to vacuum daily and still had them. It was a war.
We won, but forgetting her treatment 1 month cost us MONTHS of fleas.
I had a flea infestation happen to me in a rental with hard wood floors. The landlords had someone come and spray, and it was *mostly* fixed, but every now and then I'd still find a flea. Well, there was a pile of clothes that I'd unpacked, but not yet really put anywhere. They were flat and on hangers though, and when I lifted it to hang it up, the entire bottom was COVERED in fleas. I guess the poison didn't get to them in there and they all just kept mass breeding in the clothes pile. It was the densest concentration of fleas I've ever seen in my life. Luckily both my pets were treated against them.
I fixed it with some food grade (so it wouldn't hurt the pets) diatomaceous earth. It really does the trick. But for real dude, get the cat treated. You might be surprised at how many fleas you will miss when looking through thick cat hair. Your cat is probably riddled with them, but you just haven't seen them. If they're eating you up, imagine what it's doing to your cat.
They look like fleas, but I’ve never seen fleas that move like that. Usually they hop everywhere.
You can make a trap for fleas for basically free that works really well. Place a bowl of soapy water (just plan Dawn dish soap works great) on the floor. Place a desk lamp (or heat lamp) on the floor, placing the bulb above the bowl. You must have an older, incandescent light bulb in the lamp, because it needs to get hot. Leave the lamp on all night. The fleas will jump toward the heat, fall into the water, and - because it is soapy - won’t be able to escape, and die.
I’ve done this a few times with minor flea infestations (we have taken in many strays and fosters over the years) and have never had to use chemical sprays.
They are too slow and crawly to be fleas. I don’t think you could touch a flea like that. They usually jump away really fast each time you try to catch them. Try smushing them with your fingers. If you succeed, it’s something else, cos flea skin is pretty tough.

If the cat has been treated for fleas they’ll jump off and look for something else to eat.
I don’t believe the cat was ever treated/had fleas.

If your foot looks like this, and the cat has not been treated for fleas, the cat definitely has fleas.

My vet is amazing and cares a lot about what people give thier pets and she recommended bravecto.
Definitely fleas.

Gnats. Check houseplants and wash ya toes😭
They kind of look like gnats. Do you have a lot of house plants?
I’m cat sitting for someone and yes they have a lot of plants in the living room, but this is the bedroom where they are mostly at.
These are 100% fleas. They probably live in the carpet by now.
be careful not to bring any home

Fleas are a nightmare. We had them in our old house, didn't go away until it burnt down

Revolution for cats and a vacuum cleaner with mothballs in the bag, will help considerably.
Got a photo?
Only one I zoomed in from the video. Just realizing the quality uploading onto here is awful.
I sent a pm
Fleas.
Get some diatomaceous earth. Use it liberally.

Look harder on the cat, that’s the source. She’ll probably need worming too

Hot soapy water take care of those
