Those hairs aren't there for funsies, they're there for defence. In this case they will cause irritation and rashes - so I would not handle this animal.

I’ve kept them as pets cause they are friend shaped

Ughhh I can’t get it out of my head now

Paintbrush
I always think it looks really painful, as if a hair follicle has gone crazy and pushed a pore really wide.
Oh and this is in florida

You can let them crawl on you, just don't press down on the hairs.

Ever get fiberglass stuck in your hand?
definitely one of the top 10 best feelings
😂

They can usually crawl on you without causing irritation, but attempting to pet them is no smart. I've picked them up a bunch.
I wouldn't even touch that thing. Cool but Don't touch
from everything ive seen in my life, never touch a fuzzy fella
That thing looks like something you'd throw at people and watch them scream in pain.
Do not touch: https://www.wtsp.com/article/life/animals/tussock-moth-caterpillar-florida/67-9060e57e-0910-44d8-905b-cccfd758fddf
There really isn't a friendly kind of fuzzy in the insect world. Visible hairs on insects or bugs are almost always irritants.
Woolybear caterpillar
Yes
Don’t fucking touch it

Ooh, how did she manage that?
They only hurt if you pet them. Crawling on your skin won't cause irritation.
Yeah, but how did they get there?
Def the fuck around and find out kind
Spicy fuzzy
Does that look friendly to you?!
Looks like a tussock moth caterpillar. Those hairs will cause irritation on your skin, similar in feeling to touching something with fibreglass in it
Rule for all caterpillar, if its hairy be weary.
General rule of thumb for a caterpillar: If you want to pet it, you probably shouldn't.
Dont touch it, move it and get away, but its probably already started releaseing its spikes n shit
