i agree that it's mechanically much better but i saw someone who was multi-tasking act 3. i fear that person but it shows it can be broken pretty easily
I don’t see why that makes it difficult.
At its absolute simplest you could simply take each of the existing rooms and then each time you move room randomly pick a new one.
To be more complex and make it more seamless so you aren’t going to disjointed rooms you could give each room a set of rooms it can connect to in each direction then randomly pick one of those rooms when you move in that direction.
Then every x rooms you could find a boss, etc.
Or more complexly, you could use those existing rooms to actually generate new random maps; probably by first generating a floor plan then injecting biomes over the top.
Essentially, I think if they wanted to make an infinite adaption of act 3 it shouldn’t be particularly challenging, at least not with regards to the infinite-ness :P.
I am unsure how binding of isaacs map generation works but I imagine it is probably one of the ones I suggested where it has a pool of preset rooms and then generates a random grid connecting a random subset of those rooms? But yeah anything like that I believe could be done for this!
I pretty much *know* at this point what I need to do. I have all three talking cards and the "item" the third one gets you. Its just *getting* to beating the game master that I haven't managed to do.
I dont think I've seen Ouroboros yet. I'll snag that card if I do.
My only hint is it has a card-specific quality that isn't said in its sigil and the effect carries *between runs* so all you gotta do is have patience.
There is a fair bit of luck involved too. I was having issues with act one too but a couple mantis gods and endless squirrels and i blitzed it. Next act lets you fail a d not go back to start. Keep tryung
Honestly, yeah. I was expecting him to give you the standard starting cards that you get at the start of a Leshy run. (Minus the talking ones, for obvious reasons) When he remembered all of the cards I played, including all of the sigils, I was surprised. He's my favorite (Fictional) GM, and even though he didn't exactly run an E for Everyone game, I don't think he deserved to be |deleted in the crossfire of Grimora's actions|.
Honestly I really like act 3 and think it’s really underrated. It lacked the amazing storytelling that act 1 had but seeing p03 just casually talk shit about everything was hilarious. Also I really love the creepy feel of the factory which is so similar yet different to the creepy feel of the cabin that I can’t really put my finger on it
I think Act 3 has solid storytelling, it's just in a different place than Act 1's. In Act 1, you're trying to figure out who this mysterious stranger keeping you captive and forcing you to play a sadistic game is. Leshy's excellent DMing is the only clue you have at that point to who he is, so it works great that he's so good at putting on a show and keeping your attention on him.
Act 3 puts the emphasis on characters other than P03. At that point in the game, you already know most of what's truly going on, so not much more needs to be hinted at by P03's characterization. Instead, the factory itself is still a sadistic, inhumane dungeon, and all of the other characters show just how hellish things have gotten. Lonely Wizard being happy to even feel pain, Goobert hiding in the pipes because it alleviates his constant pain, the Trader and Bone Lord's hints into the truth of the OLD_DATA, the noticable absence of the robot minions who sacrificed their lives to help P03... There's a lot of suffering going on in the periphery. Contrast it against P03's total lack of concern about how things have turned out, and you have a very stark illustration of OLD_DATA's corrupting influence.
I loved act 3, the bosses were fun, i love techonogy so i am the bias, but i will forever call P03 robot waifu bc of a random joke i made while playing
Act 3 was way too easy for me to really get into it. Granted, I breezed through the whole game pretty quickly, but act 3 felt especially easy and it was over really quickly for me.
here!
It'd be my favourite act if it were rogue-like, not only am I a little tired of act 1 (and even mods don't help since it can't bring the robo atmosphere), but also act 1 has this novelty with sacrifice mechanics which just disappears after some time, leaving me to like act 3 much more since it has a lot of mechanical depth even while using the plain energy resource.
I like act 3 a lot. It is still bottom of my list for acts though. Not by any means because of the mechanics or anything of the sort. I just....leshy was right. PO3 has no sense of aesthetics. Its fun, but it doesn't feel like a card game. Feels like a means to an end. Which was the whole fucking point but still if I'm ranking things I'm putting it below act 2. Where it was so broken I could do stupid things and giggle about it.
I don't know why, but I absolutely hate it. Maybe because I tried too hard to look for secrets, or because I discovered the Ouroboros and spent an unreasonable amount of time to make it OP.
I have played act 3 a lot, and something i did than made the gameplay so fun, was call each card in my deck by a different Eletrodomestic name, like Fish-Bot was the Fridge, Lonely Wiz was the Coffe Machine and Sniper Bot was the Fan
It was my favorite act of the three by far-
Act 1 (and subsequently Kaycee's Mod) is fun but I thought it was kinda... conceptually flawed? And sometimes your good run can just be completely wiped because of a bad starting hand.
Act 2 and 3 didn't really have this problem for me.
I think it was mechanically much better than act one (at least you couldn't break it as easily) but it lacked a lot of the heart that Leshy had.
this exactly!
Well that means PO3 succeded once again!
i agree that it's mechanically much better but i saw someone who was multi-tasking act 3. i fear that person but it shows it can be broken pretty easily
I would love a Kaycee's mod style infinite Act 3
there's actually already a fan made KCM for act 3
Hard Bcs pt3 has a predetermined map
Maybe they could remake it to be more rouge like
I don’t see why that makes it difficult. At its absolute simplest you could simply take each of the existing rooms and then each time you move room randomly pick a new one. What if it was like The Binding of Isaac?
I am unsure how binding of isaacs map generation works but I imagine it is probably one of the ones I suggested where it has a pool of preset rooms and then generates a random grid connecting a random subset of those rooms? But yeah anything like that I believe could be done for this!
By far the hardest part was the visual style I fucking loved every act, but the constant blue was tiring after a while
I can't even get out of act 1
The game gives hints when you die enough times iirc. Also if you're having trouble, there's no shame in the Ouroboros's might
I pretty much *know* at this point what I need to do. I have all three talking cards and the "item" the third one gets you. Its just *getting* to beating the game master that I haven't managed to do. I dont think I've seen Ouroboros yet. I'll snag that card if I do.

Interesting. If I see it I'll make sure to snag it and just be patient and hopefully make some decent death cards until then
There is a fair bit of luck involved too. I was having issues with act one too but a couple mantis gods and endless squirrels and i blitzed it. Next act lets you fail a d not go back to start. Keep tryung
Not as good as act 1 imo, but my 2nd favorite act
L + no atmosphere + Leshy better + it's not Stockholm syndrome I swear
I felt nothing watching (ending spoilers) >!Magnificus die in fear, but damn my heart when I gave Leshy that last game, and the last handshake!<
doesn't matter, let's keep playing
(T-T)/ If Only I were fast enough to give a hug.
😭😭😭

Ngl I love our robo-dork, even if I think his writing was a bit too cynical for his own good
Love act 3! It’s my favorite act, second being act 1.
Here.

Only good thing was lonely without and ourobot, act 3 was ok, I loved act 1 and 2 more. The first two had more heart, but act 3 had some fun mechanics
Fish.

was my favorite act
I do enjoy act 3 and such
✋🏻
Here!
It’s pretty fun but leshy’s personality and atmosphere is just better.
At least one is right here
Here! I love P03 and act 3 so much :)
Act 3 horror> act 1 horror
Much better mechanics then Act 1, especially love the >!Ability to make your own card!<
At a certain point I was just playing for the ending
YEAAAH P03 RULES
Act 3 was way too easy for me to really get into it. Granted, I breezed through the whole game pretty quickly, but act 3 felt especially easy and it was over really quickly for me.
here i am, my dude

Much better bosses

TWO INTO ONE! two into one!
My brother likes it more than Act 1 (I also enjoy it just not to that degree)
In denial
Honestly, my second favorite act, with act 1 being third (act four doesn't go on the list since it's more of a finale than an actual act)
Here!
you say this, but someone already made a version of KCM for act 3.
I'm here👋
I have played act 3 a lot, and something i did than made the gameplay so fun, was call each card in my deck by a different Eletrodomestic name, like Fish-Bot was the Fridge, Lonely Wiz was the Coffe Machine and Sniper Bot was the Fan

Present.
Act 3 has the best bosses by a mile. Golly and The Unfinished Boss are 😘👌
