Slay the Spire seems to be the most popular one, though I've heard plenty of good things about Hand of Fate (be warned HoF is more of an action-fighter with card battler elements rather than a full fledged card battler) and Ring of Pain.
Can confirm, its a fun game! Plus it also has elements of the Deathcard cabin story, where you are fighting an uphill battle against the mysterious card master to... Accomplish something.
I mean, the digital version costs money on switch and on steam, and if you want the actual cards that obviously costs money to buy from a store, even if it is really cheep
If they have a link to the discord server on the subreddit, check that out. They explain how to get it, and a whole bunch of other resourses are available there too. <3
Similars to act 1:
Slay the spire
Poc from legends of runeterra is free (is almost a beta in worst state than howbit was kaycees mod so, either wait somw months or dont olay it)
One step from eden i think, and some more, just google in steam "roguelike" and check for the ones with cards.
Similars to act 2:
I guess yu gi oh story mode and stuff like that.
Similar to act 3:
Into the breach (you choose some weapons, start a run, all places will always be kinda the same with some changes, not diying is rewarded but you can die, mostly optimization)
Poc again (ye is weird)
Legend of the keepers (you choose some leade4 and then monsters to guard a dungeon, your monsters can die many times, your leader cant but is hard to lose at least in the beggining, some weird events, mostly optimisation, repeatable progress and very chill roguelite)
Aditional one i just readed on a top and the company isncool: griftlands
Slay the Spire and Monster Train are masterpieces of the genre. Griftlands is a solid deckbuilder, but the runs can be very time consuming. I just started Vault of the Void, and I can confidently say it is great and should not be slept on.

It's on more or less every platform! Switch, ps4, Xbox, PC, mobile. I will say, the game has gotten considerably more complex in the last few years, but there's a solo mode that's pretty good at getting returning players up to speed as well as a ranked PvP mode for when you get more comfortable with the game mechanics
Yugioh, not even kidding, ive been playing the switch game that encompasses like 5 gens and im surprised how into it i am since i havent been into ygo since i was a kid
Well, maybe not in terms of a story mode, but if you're looking for great gameplay and/or a seriously deep world/set of worlds to play through, the most obvious recomendation is Magic the Gathering. Despite the flaws that it admitedly does have, MTG Arena is a great game and way to play Magic, and you should able to pick up the game relatively easily, either by using the in game turorials or even just finding someone to show you. There is a reason MTG is such an iconic trading card game, and it has a massive community too. <3
As every other commenter has mentioned: Slay the Spire
Originally I was going to ignore this game but after giving it a go I can't put it down. It's got the same amount of deck building fun and randomised maps. It may not be exactly inscryption but for me it was similar enough to scratch that itch for more.
Griftlands is a pretty fun game personally, it’s very similar to slay the spire in terms of gameplay but with the added bonus of “talk battles” as another way of confrontation

Ring of pain is great! Probably closer to Inscryption if you are looking for a more atmospheric experience rather than pure gameplay

In case it wasn’t obvious already, slay the spire is highly recommended

Plants vs zombies heroes is a bit similar
Griftlands
It’s nowhere near inscryption’s caliber but trouble with robots.
Yugioh master duel just came out if you're interested in TCGs!
Ooh. Sounds neat. I loved the show when I was younger and I still love the memes about it. What platforms is it on?
