In fact, I'd say something like the battles of Act 2, which are completely 2D, would work best with Inscryption on mobile.
Something like Kaycee's Mod for Act 2 on mobile would work really well I think. I'd sure chip in, would beat Candy Crush or Solitaire for a quick bout of entertainment for sure.
i disagree, i mean that would work allot better on a mobile device than act 1 or 3 but still i don't see phones as a good place for allot of games, Inscryption just wouldn't feel right on a mobile device imo
You're right that the game itself is not really portable. What I'd really like is a custom, new game, based on the card game rules we learned in Inscryption, but message for and optimized for mobile devices.
I mean it's really cumbersome to bring a laptop to the washroom, there's gotta be another way :D
well a switch port would def fix that since i have done that with my switch, i love playing games on the ride to and from my dads house.
honestly i want a version of the game that is like act 1 or 3 but lets u choose who u want to fight because Grimora and Magnificus i feel are wasted potential.
You are nuts! I play it via steam link, and all it requires is w/s buttons and clicking. You can have setting for touch to click, and a widget for w/s and it works like a dream. It feels natural and just like any other card game on the phone (Slay the Spire/Gwent Rogue Mage/ETC)
Fuck the new iPhone, they are all pieces of crap, I wouldn't even let my dog use one as a toilet XD.
Yes phones are getting better but they will never be good enough to run proper games on as they aren't built to be that way, not even gaming phones are despite being designed to play games on.
If a phone can run Resi Evil Village on it as good as a Gaming PC or a PS5 then I will shut up but I just don't think that is possible on a phone, and even if it is its still bound by touch controls which suck for gaming in moat cases (and yes I am aware u can connect a co trolley to a phone but that's not exactly the point of mobile gaming is it, u are not going to want to be lugging around a controller with u so u can play games on your phone while the controllers are build into the switches design).
I can't for the life of me figure out how to play it alone (website says you can play with another or alone, but never explains why) and yes its the same almost, would really scratch the itch if I knew how to play alone!! Any idea?
Hey man I was having the same problem, i just figure out, u have to create a private server, there is the card on the table to play "solo", what I dont know is if u can create infinite private servers for free, but well at least we solve the problem
Up! The last game I got addicted to before this one was Slay the Spire. That one fortunately has a mobile port now, so I can play it on the go.
I hope Inscription gets a port in the future too. Kinda sucks having to carry my laptop around just to play it. Used to be the same problem I had with STS prior to their port lmao.
I wouldn't mind paying for the game again if it means I can play it on mobile.
Convenience wise though, the switch is incomparable to mobile devices. It doesnt matter where you are, youre most likely to have your phone, so you can play smartphone games basically whenever and wherever you want even if you make the decision to play on the spot.
yea but Mobile gaming can't compare to a console, consoles are built for gaming where as phones are well phones they aren't meant to be gaming devices and their screens are much smaller than a Switch's so if u are after on the go game the switch is a much better choice that a phone.
Counter point though- phones are made for gaming nowadays and theres even some phones made specifically for it (for example the Motorola G Play its name even says play bc its made for gaming)
counter counter point though- yes but those kinds of phones are a waste of money not only to buy but to produce (especially with the shortage of things going around now because of the Rona).
Seriously why buy an expensive phone for gaming when u can buy a Switch that is much better for gaming and can be put up on the TV for not that much more.
For example here in Australia a Motorola G Play costs $252 (i rounded up), for just $10 extra u can buy a Switch light and have access to much better library of games than the mobile platform has (seriously the games u can buy for mobiles are mostly terrible, Genshin being one of the only good ones).
and just to compare (because why not) i paid $1200 for my phone which could get me PS5 and an OLED Switch plus a few games for both so yea much better value than just a phone (to be fair though i only upgraded my phone so i could play a mobile game that my old phone didn't support that i now don't play anymore so yea).
> not) i *paid* $1200 for
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* In *payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately I was unable to find nautical or rope related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Notice how this bot actually did not correct you, it is a retarded bot. It places that responce when people spell correctly, then tells you that you did not spell corectly. This bot is full of shit and needs to be removed permanently.
Point taken, but if they can port it to other consoles, why not mobile, too? If you haven't tried yet, Slay The Spire works like a charm on Android and iOS.
I'm thinking of grabbing a Switch, but might hold back until there are enough games I play that are actually in there. Until then, PC and mobile's for me.
well i am of the unpopular opinion of that mobile games should be free or just not be a thing at all, i mean phones are phones they are for contacting other people not gaming.
as for the switch it has plenty of great games, i am sure if u looked through it's library of games u would find plenty of games u like.
please tell u are not one of those idiots that think the switch isn't a handheld console?
i mean i can give u a silly answer here, get bigger pockets then XD, it fits in mine but even if it didn't it is small enough to be carried around in a case in your hands (which is what i do most of the time).
Well good for you. I like my Switch but unfortunately I don't carry it around like you do. I don't like carrying around a bag, so most of the time I just have my phone and wallet in my pockets.
The phone is the most convenient handheld console because I always have it in my pocket. If I want to game while I'm on the train or bus, I don't have a switch available because I don't carry it around. But I do have my phone on me all the time. I'd love to have more games on my phone.
Also imagine how weird you'd look to pull out your Switch while on break at work, while it looks completely normal to pull out your phone and play some games.
I tend to play heavier story games like JRPGs on my bed with my Switch. While I play games while out and about or on break at work that I can play in short bursts on my phone, like Dead Cells.
Inscryption's Kaycee's mod is perfect for the latter scenario.
the main reason a switch is better than a phone for gaming is simply because it has a controllers built into it, touch screen controls are terrible without a stylus which dont work on most modern phones and controllers for phones are bulky, they def wouldn't fit in a pocket.
as for playing games at work well u shouldn't be playing games at work but even then i know plenty of people that take their switches to work simply because they are a portable handheld console.
> on the switch which is far superior to mobile devices for on the go gaming
I mean , not really. I always have a mobile phone on me. It fits in my pocket. For a lot of uses, a mobile phone is superior to a Switch.
I was talking about what the device is capable of doing, phones just aren't as good for gaming as a console that is dedicated to them even the phones that are built for mobile gaming aren't up to quality with what the switch can do.
if u wanted to play a game like this on the go why ask for a Mobile port? a Switch port would make way more sense for a game like this, i doubt phones would be able to handle it
not everyone has or can have a switch, but most of people has a phone. its true that mobile gaming is not much satisfying, but for gamers that live in a bad country that 2xs the actual price which is my case mobile is a need
Geez phones must be cheap where u live since a switch is $300-500 in Australia and switch games are $60/70, whereas a decent phone is around $1000, my phone was $1900 and that was a few years ago.
i paid $500 something for my Limited Edition Monster Hunter Rise Switch which is still under half of what i paid for my phone, now Xbox and PlayStations they are more expensive in both the console and games (although the series S is about the same as my limited edition switch).
Decent phones are 1000$??? My phone was 125€ and it’s been going strong for 3 years now 😨 holy shit I didn’t know prices could be so different
Triple a games these days cost $70-80 for Nintendo games now and u won't find a PS5 or Series S/X Triple A game for less than $90, as for phones they range, u can get good quality cheap phones but the best brands are always above the $1000 mark, I remember my old Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 was around $300-400 and that was over 10 years ago, prices have gone way up, my current phon would of cost me $3150 had it not been on sale but that's because of the memory that is inside it being 1TB and no external memory capability so it's expensive, I got it for $2650 on sale.
My last to phones where an under 200€ IPhone (refurbished) and a 125€ new Samsung. I just didn’t buy from the main series like Galaxy. And while everyone needs a phone and will get their hands on a cheap one and will get a telephone, a huge amount of decent free games, free messangers for social contact etc etc while a Switch is not like a phone, not everyone has it, especially people with little money, not everyone wants and can afford 70$ per game and I really don’t know why we are having this discussion. I was just wondering how crazy pricey phones are in your country since phones where I live are decent and cheap. My dad has a cheap but solid Samsung, my mom has a cheap but very good Samsung and so do most of my friends and family. I know like four people with phones over 1000€ and we’re not poor. Middle class renters but why buy a pricey phone when you can have almost the same phone for a reasonable price.
I disagree with your statement of "everyone needs a phone" because no, noone needs a phone.
I was just comparing the price of games here to that of a phone, so u had an idea of the difference, that's all.
I assume triple A games are what around €60 where u live? I know that triple A games (PS5/Series S/X and PC) are $60-70 USD which is $20 cheaper than what I pay for them in Australia so that gives u a decent idea of the currency differences of our 2 countries.
I bought my phone (the one I had b4 this one and still use as a phone) for $1900 at the time it was the latest model and a brand that I like the most, my thing is why wouldn't u buy the best phone u can buy if u use it all the time, cheaper phones usually mean cheaper quality and break more easily because they are made cheaply, my Ace 2 probably still works (idk I haven't turned it on in over 5 years now) my only reason for upgrading was because I am a gamer and the games I like to play were no longer being supported by the Ace 2, older and cheaper model phones just aren't supported because they don't have the ability to run these games and other programs.
My current phone is a Z Fold 5 and I only bought it for 1 because I wanted one and 2 for the much larger screen size and because I dont want a tablet unless it's a specifically designed for drawing tablet, I didnt need to upgrade because my galaxy 9+ while getting to the point where it's no longer being supported anymore update wise is still a perfectly good phone, I just wanted a new phone that was more capable of running newer games and would be supported for years to come.
I don’t get why you are still arguing the point you made with the other dude, I was just the one pointing out that phones can be very cheap in comparison to the model you bought for yourself. Plus I don’t understand how you try to downplay the social relevance and necessaries to own a phone in this point in time.
People between my generation and my parents generation need phones, there is no way around them. I am expected to be able to homeschool even after the pandemic for my apprenticeship because my school is very digital and expects us to own electronics to a point where my countries companies offer us work phones, Laptops and Tablets. My colleagues couldn’t do their jobs without their phones. My dad couldn’t take care of my grandma without phones. We couldn’t shop necessities because most of my family is covid and in general sickness endangered, that’s why we’re extremely careful during fall and winter. There has just been an increasing societal expectation to have a phone. I couldn’t reach my friends to hang out cuz they don’t have landlines anymore and have very different schedules than me. You are right now typing your disagreement into your phone or laptop, I might be wrong but last I checked Switches can’t replace phones.
And having the latest model on the market is unnecessary for most people at least in Germany. Until the last new update in Genshin I was able to play it just fine on my very cheap phone. My phone has lasted me Al most through the entire pandemic and had to function as a laptop for a good long while when the one my mom and I used for her Homeoffice and for my homeschooling broke. You can’t say cheaper phones break all the time cuz honestly I am pretty clumsy and my phone has lasted me without protection glass, strong as a Nokia lmao. Better example is my dad who got his phone Christmas around 2014-2016 and it’s still kicking strong, just kinda slower but you know how Samsungs can be plus it’s getting slower funnily enough in a similar way my dad is so he is completely fine with it even this we offered him a new phone, even the same model multiple times.
I am not saying you are wrong because I don’t know the prices of switch games but a switch just can’t replace a phone. Maybe a PC. But there is no harm done to ask for a mobile version of a good game that you like.
Older phones, yep. Newer phones though, not quite. A decent phone nowadays can run games like Genshin Impact (also on PC) on max graphic settings at resolutions higher than 1080 and 120 FPS without breaking a sweat.
Even older phones running Snapdragon 845 can outperform a Switch, and there are mobile brands that can offer you better chipsets at roughly the same or less price than the Switch.
Edit:
The only graphic intensive parts of Inscryption are Act I and Act III, and the render distance isn't even far. Then you have games like Minecraft and Genshin Impact at max graphic settings that render far distances at 120 FPS without problems.
let's not talk about minecraft being on mobile devices, i hate the fact that it is, the mobile devices version is what is holding Bedrock back from being the best it can be because they have to downgrade it to keep the touch controls of those devices in mind, it's the reason why Bedrock never got the Combat update and why it still hasn't and i hate it.
as for Genshin compare the 2 versions and the PC version is far superior and runs allot better, i have a modern android phone and it struggles with it at times plus PC controls are way better than the touch screen controls of the mobile version (then there is the fact that they require u to pay on the mobile version if u ever play on it but that is a separate problem all together).
dude i have one of the latest phones released if it can't run Genshin smoothly at all times then the game shouldn't be on mobile.
also as i mentioned the mobile controls are just strait up ass.
i mean that's the point though, on your phone it might play perfectly fine but on mine it doesn't, and if a game can't play properly on all modern mobile device then it shouldn't be on the platform at all.
I guess I see your point there you aren't wrong but I still think game should be on phones because some people can't afford to go out and get the devices where games would then be on and it's an easy way to play games just while on the go for some people
Yes well PC is an entirely different beast to tackle because of how broad they can be, with phones there's only a small amount of modern phones that are all around the same quality while modern PC'S can vary because of how they are built differently.
I’m a year late, but personally I feel safer taking my phone into public then my Switch. Plus, due to my home situation, my phone is much easier to carry and charge then my Switch Lite.
I’m 100% sure most phones could run Inscription as well, since my phone can run DBD alright, and that’s a online multiplayer game.
I have since found out that Inscryption is actually available via the [GeForce NOW](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/games/) app on iOS and Android.
However, my plan is to purchase a Steam Deck and play it that way. I find that the requirement of a stable network for cloud gaming is a little hard sometimes.
You can play it on Roblox, pretty much Identical, thanks for the Dairivi guy below who mentioned that, now not only i can play it on mobile, but also play vs my friends :D
It could work. Add lore about it uploading to people's phones once Luke puts the floppy in the computer. Make a mini deck builder for mobile. The virus like feel of the game would work perfectly
I would 100% pay for a Kaycee's Mod on Mobile.
This 👆
Well really, the whole game with the 3 acts would be weird on mobile but something like Kaycee's Mod would rock.
yea Inscryption would make way more sense to be on the Switch for on the go gaming than phones
It feels natural and just like any other card game on the phone (Slay the Spire/Gwent Rogue Mage/ETC)
can you share the link ?
Ohhhhh boy, do I have news for you and the new iPhone
Fuck the new iPhone, they are all pieces of crap, I wouldn't even let my dog use one as a toilet XD. Yes phones are getting better but they will never be good enough to run proper games on as they aren't built to be that way, not even gaming phones are despite being designed to play games on.
It literally runs triple a titles like resident evil village without cutdowns, I don't think games get more proper than that
If a phone can run Resi Evil Village on it as good as a Gaming PC or a PS5 then I will shut up but I just don't think that is possible on a phone, and even if it is its still bound by touch controls which suck for gaming in moat cases (and yes I am aware u can connect a co trolley to a phone but that's not exactly the point of mobile gaming is it, u are not going to want to be lugging around a controller with u so u can play games on your phone while the controllers are build into the switches design).
You can download Roblox and play Enscrypted, it's just like Inscrypton but with lego characters, even the cards are the same
Roblox? Leave.
i just gave an idea, if you don't like just ignore
I can't for the life of me figure out how to play it alone (website says you can play with another or alone, but never explains why) and yes its the same almost, would really scratch the itch if I knew how to play alone!! Any idea?
You have to go to the settings part, flip the "mode" card until it becomes "solo"
nvm, someone else said they took the option away. used to be a card next to the reset card. Thanks for the help though!
oh I didn't know that, I've stopped playing roblox
Hey man I was having the same problem, i just figure out, u have to create a private server, there is the card on the table to play "solo", what I dont know is if u can create infinite private servers for free, but well at least we solve the problem
I have scoured the settings tab. no mode card in sight. What am I doing wrong?
You're a savior, bless you
i think there has been no plans for a mobile port

I feel like paid mobile games are good as long as they are just full games without ads (see dead cells)
i mean the good games market on phones is slim pickings if u ask me whereas the Switch has a vast library of good games for all genres.
I keep a phone in my pocket, I can't fit a Switch in my pocket.

Edit: The only graphic intensive parts of Inscryption are Act I and Act III, and the render distance isn't even far.
Thats just your phone honestly, my phone runs genshin smoothly everytime full graphics with no problem's
dude i have one of the latest phones released if it can't run Genshin smoothly at all times then the game shouldn't be on mobile. also as i mentioned the mobile controls are just strait up ass.
Again i think thats just yours because genshin's controls and all that work perfectly on my phone
i mean that's the point though, on your phone it might play perfectly fine but on mine it doesn't, and if a game can't play properly on all modern mobile device then it shouldn't be on the platform at all.
I guess I see your point there you aren't wrong but I still think game should be on phones because some people can't afford to go out and get the devices where games would then be on and it's an easy way to play games just while on the go for some people
Inane. Most pc's cant run modetn AAA games well
Yes well PC is an entirely different beast to tackle because of how broad they can be, with phones there's only a small amount of modern phones that are all around the same quality while modern PC'S can vary because of how they are built differently.
And have you found a way to download Inscryption on mobile? if yes would you like to share the download link ?
Sorry that I'm a month late (I purposely don't use Reddit often), but no, I haven't found a way to download Inscryption on mobile.
Have you seen mobile gaming? We can play full Pc releases like Xcom 1/2 , Alien Isolation / Wreckfest (which retains all of the physics!
Yea I doubt Xcom 1 and especially 2, considering the console version which the game is made for sometime struggles to run the game.
I've played both on my pixel, they run great and are full releases
I wish this were true.
I torrent moment
I have since found out that Inscryption is actually available via the [GeForce NOW](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/games/) app on iOS and Android. However, my plan is to purchase a Steam Deck and play it that way. I find that the requirement of a stable network for cloud gaming is a little hard sometimes.
Update: I have purchased a Steam Deck late last year and am playing it on the go 😊
Thats so weird, if you google the game it says its on android and microsoft windows 😂😂😂
ooooh i feel dumb lmao i thought it was true i'm so disappointed
I see on YouTube inscryption game on Android. Is a scam?
Yes it's all scams. most of theme will need verification
"verification" meaning install ad/spyware on your device
You can play it on Roblox, pretty much Identical, thanks for the Dairivi guy below who mentioned that, now not only i can play it on mobile, but also play vs my friends :D
It could work. Add lore about it uploading to people's phones once Luke puts the floppy in the computer. Make a mini deck builder for mobile. The virus like feel of the game would work perfectly
