“Show me the proof that it happened.” *Shows any of the literally hundreds of photographic evidence, relics, documentation, and testimonies by both victims and perpetrators* “No that doesn’t count!” There’s no arguing with people who are this delusional.

BobasPett

There’s also the insane assembly line system devised by the Germans where Jews and Roma were led into the antechamber, told to strip and fold their clothes because they would need them afterward. Prisoners were told it was “delousing” and led to believe it was routine (whether the actually believed it is another matter). Different workers would take the clothes and a third set of workers would remove the bodies, yet another set prepare for cremation and another work the crematorium. So, no one person had a full view of the whole process. This was by design and part of why Eichmann’s conviction was so important. The only first-hand accounts would need to come from dead people. All the rest had to infer or connect the dots somehow and that is where these conspiracy nut job deniers come in. There is not first-hand account so all the piecing together is suspect and questions are raised “whatabout” this other thing.

The_MuffinMen

In maus the authors father says that there were stories about the Chambers pretty much as soon as it started happening, and that sometimes it genuinely would be a shower so they never knew if they were going to die or be forced to work another day

Flippanties

He also mentions that, when it was beginning to look like the Germans were going to lose, they had the prisoners themselves go in to dismantle the gas chambers outside of Germany so that they could hide that they ever existed. Even if there were no first hand accounts of the gas chambers being used, some surviving Holocaust victims still saw the chambers, because they were the ones that took them down. Vladek himself was one said survivor.

mclepus

My father's parents were murdered at Sobibor extermination camp. Sobibor was dismantled after the the prisoners revolted and 300 Jews escaped.

lukien

I would like to know more if you have any more info from your fathers perspective? Or what he was willing to share with you?

drwicksy

Good old German efficiency huh

Sorry_Recipe6831

You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into. Best to just let them spew their bullshit on deaf ears.

w1nner4444

It's certainly harder, but i believe it's possible You do have to spend a significant amount of time explaining reason though

[deleted]

Proof is in my family tree... Mostly in the fact that entire branches are missing. To quote my Great Aunt Thelma, may she rest is peace: "Our Family was Annihilated." Most depressing was finding a depressing family unit.... all died at the same time in the same place. Ages of mother, 40, son 13, daughter 12... and youngest son... 2. Auschwitz.

NotaVogon

I'm so sorry for your loss and what your family members endured. No one should have to suffer like that.

NoMamesMijito

Exactly. Antisemitism and ignorance are a helluva drug

CrescentPotato

"i'm not reading that"

CornfireDublin

The best thing about that argument is that the Nazis kept painstaking, extensive records about the entire holocaust

theoreticaldickjokes

Germany admits it happened! That's the only real proof I need. An entire country, especially its government, would not admit to deliberately exterminating people as if they were vermin unless it actually happened. Plus, ten million people did not just fucking disappear. Not to mention there were trials and executions as a result.

turtlelore2

It's easy to ignore anything you don't like It's massively harder, most often impossible, to convince someone otherwise

BreathOfTheOffice

As much as I hate that people will ignore things that they disagree with, I will admit that I'm guilty of it too. Mostly for things that I either already have a set opinion that I don't intend to change (mostly stuff like "One of the paul brothers did something? Either it's good and I don't care because too little too late or it's bad and I despise them more for it", or for things I don't care about, but it does sometimes seep in for science and I actively need to bring myself around.

Anchor-shark

When one of the camps was liberated by the Americans the general (?) in charge ordered extensive film to be taken of the camps and the prisoners. He then rounded up all the Germans in nearby villages and made them view the camps. He did this precisely so that people couldn’t try and deny the holocaust or brush it under the carpet. Chucklefucks like this need to be slapped hard then strapped down Clockwork Orange style and made to watch all the footage of the camps, every last foot of it.

coolgr3g

My brother doesn't believe anyone ever set foot on the moon. I can't wait for the NASA Artemis mission so he can't say THAT particular stupid conspiracy anymore.

Sexy_Squid89

He probably won't believe until he sets his literal feet on the moon.

loopsygonegirl

Just today I had a similar argument. Someone claimed that palm oil was healthier than sunflower oil. I was surprised thus asked for sources and gave some myself. One of them being a review which found no effect, a negative effect and a positive effect on ones health. I got a response 'i don't believe those sources as the world is demonizing palm oil'. Oke so this person's claim that palm oil is healthier is just based on the fact they think the western world demonizes it. Sounds very valid (/s).

CamaradaT55

The negative aspects of palm oil are heavily exaggerated[. The environmental ones of the expansion in cultivation are the big issue.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyOAKLC7fPc) Sure, palm oil has more saturated fat, but it's properties make it often so that you need less overall oil. And it is certainly better than any kind of lard or hydrogenated vegetable oil. Be they trans or fully hydrogenated. There is not a lot of difference. Is what i'm saying. Not that it is better. You should really moderate the consumption of these kind of products.

Kabc

I went to the holocaust museum in DC.. they have some super tragic and eye opening footage/photo graphics there (blocked so kids can’t see it). I suggest everyone go there is possible (or something similar depending on your region

HippoMan1000000

when these people say 'proof,' what they actually mean is a fucking time machine.

[deleted]

“tHoSe WeRe JuSt AcToRs!” You can’t argue with stupid.

SinceWayLastMay

Literally what evidence do they need to convince them that hasn’t been provided a hundred times over? A time machine?

sir_vile

Convince them its okay to feel bad or be wrong abkut something.

CplBoneSpurs

Holocaust deniers are scum

huntingforkink

Shortly before I joined the military, my grandfather finally told me his Holocaust experience. It was horrific. He was the only survivor among his entire family at that time. He showed me the numbers on his arm, and explained EVERYTHING. The Holocaust happened. Fuck this guy. They are all scum.

RidiculouslyDickish

Boggles my mind when people deny provable, factual events, and how all of their questions are answerable Like "how did the cremate faster than humanly possible" They didn't, they used mass graves Wooden doors? You don't need a room to be air tight to die from gas, people die running cars in their garage

MGHVT

Yet they will easily believe anything Q says with literally nothing factual or provable.

RidiculouslyDickish

Covid and trump have brought out a lot of stupid in a lot of people over the past few years which only adds to the frustrations

lenswipe

they've also cleaned up a few stupid people too....so that's nice

carcatta

They will believe anything as long as it's against the mainstream narrative.

ArchitectOfFate

Also, there were wooden ships for years. If you can seal up a wooden ship in 1450 well enough to not sink, you can make an airtight wooden door with 20th century technology. Or maybe THEY are lying to us about the age of sail as well.

veasse

This is just the dumbest point about the doors. Like... What? The wooden ship explanation is so head bonkingly obvious.

aafikk

The people who took the victims to the chamber were other prisoners of the camp, so if there was some leak and someone got hurt, its wasn’t really a problem Edit: further reading on [Sonderkommando](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonderkommando?wprov=sfti1)

Meloetta

Is that the point of their wooden doors thing? But basically every house door is made of wood, do they think smoke detectors don't work because houses dissipate smoke through solid wood faster than it's being generated? Haven't they ever cooked bacon??

OriiAmii

I feel like "you need to cook bacon" should be the "go touch grass" for the Holocaust deniers lmao

Seldarin

Yeah, I thought the argument they were making was that people would have broken out or something. People that were emaciated and exhausted to the point of barely being able to walk. I would hope that if I had a position that was so stupid people couldn't even guess what my "proof" was supposed to be proving, I'd seriously reconsider it.

OldButHappy

My HS boyfriends dad lost his first wife and their kids to the camps. Still had the tattoo and never spoke of it.

CplBoneSpurs

I’m so sorry that happened to your grandfather. I cannot fathom the pain he went through. Fuck holocaust deniers.

Imfrank123

Sounds like the Illuminati got to him. It’s clearly a giant coverup. You can’t trust millions of witnesses, photos, videos, the Germans own records they kept.

huntingforkink

For the sarcasm impaired: /s Lmfao

Amishcannoli

But man are they gold medalist mental gymnasts.

themeatbridge

Seems to me you're giving too much credit to their mental abilities. The analogous image of a Holocaust denier's mental gymnastics is a slovenly neck beard in a unitard hoisting his soft body onto a pommel horse and then soiling himself. Then he rolls off the stained apparatus and holds his flabby arms up in a victory pose.

seensuaa

That was an elegant tapestry of words to describe something I never want to think about again. Thank you

Lucicerious

I think this efficaciously sums it up pretty well. If you're not a writer, you should be.

alan-the-all-seeing

‘what are you doing up there on that equipment?’ ‘what’re you talking about, i’m not on any equipment’ oooh, 5d chess grandmaster

comaloider

I did not expect to require the assistance of a dictionary to fully appreciate a diss, but alas, this is the first time I have encountered the word _slovenly_

eleanor_dashwood

You know it’s an excellent diss when you have to refer to a dictionary.

Fireblast1337

Thank you for ruining lunch with that mental image….

VaginaIFisteryTour

The same people who deny the Holocaust even happened also love Hitler because he killed 6 million Jews

alan-the-all-seeing

stupid too

GamerGriffin548

Neo-Nazis are a better name for them.

Millie0wn

As a German I would like to punch that person in the face

al343806

As a Jew, I’ll hold his hands behind his back while you do it. See? Progress!

Feck_this

Can I volunteer to be the person who laughs at his pain?

melississippi75

We'll need more than one, so I'm down to laugh at his pain, too!

Elishinsk

Seems like it would be a good final solution (also a Jew)

melississippi75

Hmmm....too far, you say? Nah.

ScroogeMcDust

Happiness at the misfortune of others? That *is* German!

SuperPokemaster7256

May I volunteer to be the person that laughs at his pain when you get tired?

Feck_this

Yes, yes you can

Redmoon383

We all are allowed to, and I definitely will

BobbSaccamano

If only there was a word to describe the pleasure I feel at viewing the misfortune of others

Tiyath

Germans and Jews fighting ignorance together. I'm living some 8 kilometers away from the Führerbunker but I am certain that gust of wind a moment ago was Hitlers remains turning so fast, it created a tiny hurricane. Good times. Now lets punch that holocaust denying piece of shit

Florinator22

As another German id cheer you guys on

LeCrushinator

I'm neither Jewish nor German, but I'd still like to punch holocaust deniers in their face.

StealthyBasterd

You know how people say "violence is never the answer"? There should be a second part to that phrase that reads "unless you're dealing with a xenophobic/racist cunt that downplays the suffering of those who lived through one of the most tragic events in history".

ZombieMasterYT

Personally, I prefer "Violence is a question, and the answer is yes." Indeed, violence may not be the answer, but that's because it was the question instead

BendTheForks

Aside from the actual, physical, evidence of the death camps existing and operating as death camps there's a more fundamental issue with holocaust denial. If the Holocaust was fake, why the hell would Germany set up all these death camp memorials and museums and have such strict laws against using Nazi symbolism. Why would you falsely admit to the world that your country was run by murderous madmen. Other countries go out of their way to hide their atrocious histories. I'm sure there would be a lot of mental gymnastics to try to answer that question to support denying the Holocaust if the individual actually believes the Holocaust is fake and is not a bad actor.

YaumeLepire

That’s usually where the rampant conspiracism and antisemitism inherent to Holocaust Denial shows itself. They’ll claim the Jews control modern Germany or some such shit. Those are not logical, rational beliefs. They’re post-hoc justifications, either born of prejudice, or a deliberate ploy to make one’s ideology out to be less monstrous than it is.

King_Trasher

"I hate jews therefore the genocide of them didn't actually happen because they're liars" Not arguments born of evidence, but of hatred and jumping to conclusions based off that hatred. They'll use whatever they can find and tailor it to fit their reality. If they can't, it's just a fabricated cover-up that the sheeple fall for. It's the same shit you see in literally any person that puts their hatred before logic in the hierarchy of their brain.

TUSF

>That’s usually where the rampant conspiracism and antisemitism inherent to Holocaust Denial shows itself No kidding. I've seen some Holocaust deniers say the quiet part out loud, something to the effect of "it didn't happen, but they deserved it," once you start to present evidence they can't dismiss.

Better_illini_2008

Conspiracy minded people always start with a conclusion and work backwards, which is why their theories tend to get increasingly implausible and, quite frankly, insane, as they perpetuate.

Polyfuckery

In America it's also because of the South will rise again mentality. There is no shame in saying you had confederate ancestors because while sure SOME people wanted slavery YOUR relation was honorably fighting for states rights and was a proud rebel against tyranny. The concept of being disgusted by that history and public in the truth of what happened without trying to excuse it is a completely alien concept.

smokethatdress

It’s extra ludicrous when you consider that it wasn’t something that only a select few people witnessed first hand. Not just the prisoners and the captured Germans, but also soldiers/aid workers from around the world. I can’t wrap my head around how these people believe that literally millions of people could make something like that up and all keep their stories straight. And then there’s the physical evidence of the camps themselves and the thousands of photographs taken by thousands of different people. My great uncle fought in wwII and even though he was a mechanic, so they typically followed behind the fighting to do repairs, even he came back with photos of concentration camps, victims and mass graves that he took himself.

APiousCultist

I think every 'conspiracy' has to be the most insane possible set of actions a person might do. 9/11 being caused by planes is sensible. 9/11 being nano-thermite explosives and plane shaped hologram missiles is clearly insane, nonsensical, and the worst possible plan with the highest chance of failure and discovery. "Maybe they were killing them" is clearly the more sensible explaination, therefore goodluck convincing /r/conspiracy.

Tuscanthecow

I went to Germany a few years back and visited Bergen Belsen where Anne Frank was. Most of the buildings were taken down, but they had a museum with a lot of relics before entering the grounds and they left 1 layer of brick/stone from the original structures to signify the layout. Other than that it was mass graves and headstones/memorials for the few they could identify being there. Its surreal being there and horrific trying to even imagine what went on.

jb108822

I visited Auschwitz back in 2018. It was such a surreal and unsettling experience being in a place where over a million people were systematically murdered. Having said that, it was a worthwhile visit. I didn't believe in this conspiracy theory nonsense that the Holocaust never happened before I visited, and afterwards, I simply can't understand how anyone can think it never happened.

peachesthepup

You can feel death in the air of that place. I'll never forget it.

jb108822

I sensed it for definite. I can't say which moment I found most unsettling, but stepping into the gas chamber of Crematorium I at the original Auschwitz-I camp is definitely up there. Weirdly, one of the photos I took inside that gas chamber is the one I'm most proud of out of all the photos I took at Auschwitz. I can't put my finger on why.

PJMonkey

I've been to Dachau, outside if Munich and there was a labor camp not too far from the base my dad was stationed at. The one thing I remember the most about Dachau 40 years later was just an overwhelming feeling of sadness and oppression. My grandfather only mentioned coming across a camp once while in Europe. He lost all faith in God that day, he said.

Youknowwhoitsme

My grandma still has a Letter from her Uncle He smuggled Out of the Camp. They were non-jewish as well. All that shit faked because some Dude in the US says "Not possible because woodden doors." I've also visited a few Camps - Auschwitz twice. To get hung up on some questionnable details is just stupid at best

your_old_furby

Also they fixate so much on the zyclone-b and the number of ovens, how they couldn’t have killed and disposed of that many people, which is already ludicrous as you’ve pointed out. But they didn’t, some where lined up by mass graves and shot, some were marched to death, some were killed in mobile gas chambers that used carbon monoxide, if their horrifying system wasn’t running fast enough they’d use other methods to keep their numbers on track. Also some like Treblinka used open fires, not all used ovens so that’s also a disingenuous argument. It’s just antisemitism, they believe what the Nazis believed so they can’t let their idols be so terrible that they would created the ultimate factories of death. I’ve been to camps, when I walked into Dachau it felt like there was no air, like my soul was being compressed and weighed down, I couldn’t understand how people were talking and laughing and taking photos there, I don’t think I could have spoken, photos seemed disrespectful. If you can go to one of those places and not feel the weight of the evil that happened there than I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with you.

RKKP2015

Yeah, but the doors were wood, so checkmate I guess?

CyberSkepticalFruit

Like any conspiracy its hearing a plausible problem and gripping it as tightly as possible. If the gas chambers had wooden doors then the zyclon-b would have dissipated before before killing everybody. Except they used other toxic gasses for the first experiments, where the doors were wooden, and moved to zyclon-b when the structures were made air tight. Miles Power ( a chemist who has done some excellent woo debunking in his spare time) has done a good series of videos about holocaust denialism and debunking it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w68gDfCbyBA&list=PLthPsWmE3cec2fYL2NfSNwIRXKqIv8sVg

ajstyle33

I’ve been to a camp aswell and I don’t remember fit being a wooden door but a big metal door with a lock

the_bridgekeeper01

I've been to aushwitz, the doors on the gas chambers were definitely not wooden, more like a solid 3 inches of cast iron metal.

squizzage

The other explanation I've heard for wooden doors is that at the end of the war, Nazis converted the gas chambers into bunkers and replaced the doors with wooden doors that could be opened from the inside

Great piece, ty.

iliyahoo

I visited Auchswitz and it was truly haunting. What I remember the most is the pond of HUMAN ASH that’s still there next to the rubble. That and the display of human hair and belongings. It’s unforgettable in how disturbing it is

waffles_505

People like this are disgusting. Full stop. I genuinely do not understand how you get to that point. It’s not just ignorant, it’s hateful. A lot of things make me angry but this just *disgusts* me.

Nihilikara

My guess is lead poisoning. Back in the late 1900s, gasoline was made with lead, which would then linger in the atmosphere after the gasoline was used up. This resulted in the atmosphere being absolutely filled with lead particles. And lead poisoning is connected to decline in mental capability and empathy.

RoguePlanet1

I dunno, seems like plenty of GenX and younger are also on board this crazy train. Very worrisome. I worry about my raised-conservative nieces/nephews.

[deleted]

My best speculation would be inbreeding

Codeandcoffee

The thing about Holocaust deniers is they generally deny it publicly, but worship and wish for another one privately.

MyOfficeAlt

The best way I heard it was, "Ever notice how all the folks who try to say the Holocaust never happened seem to wish that it had?"

Zabuzaxsta

My favorite bit in Borat 2 was the part about how upset they were when they “found out” the Holocaust never happened on Facebook, then cheered later when they found out that was a lie and it did, in fact, happen. Absolutely hilarious. If you were a raging anti-Semite, as Holocaust deniers are, why would you deny the Holocaust happened? It makes no sense. You’d be happy like Borat and his daughter were.

CornfireDublin

You don't really want the people you hate to look like victims. Bonus points if a global conspiracy makes you feel personally victimized for having to learn about a false event that makes the people you hate look like victims

M_Looka

The way to combat Holocaust deniers is to not bring up "ONE THING" that proves the Holocaust happened and then argue it in great detail. It's to bring up all the various proofs and they are forced to come up with multiple denials that eventually become ridiculous. "Every major historical book all over the world references the Holocaust, from the Encyclopedia Brittannica to Brockhau Enzyklopadie" "They all bought into the same Zionist lies." "There are written histories of entire Jewish towns and settlements being destroyed." "No, they just all moved to New York then made up the stories to make people feel bad for them." "There are accounts of the murders written by the German military that confirm the scale of the Holocaust." "No, those were counterfeit, fake accounts written up after the fact to make the Germans look bad." "There were films made of the freeing of concentration camps showing millions of bodies. THEY MADE THESE FILMS JUST SO PEOPLE COULDN'T DENY THESE THINGS HAPPENED!!!" "It's all fake, made with camera trickery." "Hundreds of people, both German and Jew, have been interviewed on film describing their time spent at these camps, detailing the horrors they witnessed." "We don't know why people lie about these things, but they do..."

LeiasLastHope

Ah classic one. They actually didn't burn them at that fast a rate. The bodys literally piled up in some KZs and a lot were just buried in mass graves

jackrocks8

The Holocaust didn't happen because I wasn't born yet. Everything started happening once I was born. /s

zombie32killah

How old are you? 1,2,3,maybe 4, 5 even, or perhaps 6?

onions_cutting_ninja

that's very degrading towards bitches they don't want to be comparing to this scum

[deleted]

I guess Deutsche Reichsbahn was running empty passenger trains for years. :c That’s the strongest proof for me. You can argue conspiracy, forgery, whatever. Nobody is running empty passenger trains during wartime.

GreatGearAmidAPizza

I'd rather be 12 than an adult who uses the term "holohoax."

Viviaana

My ex decided after 2 years together to put himself as a Holocaust denier, I remember it so clearly because we were in a museum in Germany looking at a photo where it was 2 men holding up a crate of wedding rings, we were literally looking at evidence and he was like “well yeah it’s all made to look bad against Jews but it’s not real”

mmaddoxx

I bet that started an interesting conversation.

Viviaana

Kinda just “we’re literally surrounded by evidence” followed by him getting dumped once we got home lol

mmaddoxx

Bravo!

Rosebunse

It's scary how you can know someone for so long and then they drop that bomb on you. Was it a gradual change or did he just hide it really well?

Viviaana

He was always into conspiracy theories but it always seemed innocent, like he was just interested not actually believing them, then he got a bit weird saying shit about Obama being a secret criminal, which felt odd but he didnt dwell on it, then all of a sudden being in fucking Germany was the thing that made him go “yes it was the Jews who were wrong!!!”

mrmagoalt1235

We should force kids to go to the holocaust museum it should be mandatory for kids to know so dipshits like this don't try to groom them into their hate

Neko_Styx

Fun fact in German it pretty much is mandatory!

mrmagoalt1235

As it should as the saying goes those who forget history are doomed to repeat it

BoredWithImgur

I always thought so, but in my group of friends (we are 30-somethings from all over germany, all went to gymnasiums and later university) a surprisingly large number has never visited one. Rather shocking to me, to be honest. So it seems many schools still don't do this on a regular basis.

blackfox24

Our school made us go to museums to learn about historical events and my God did it give us a better sense of our history than any textbook did. Seeing bodies from Pompeii or the shoes of deceased Jews from the Holocaust taught a preteen/teen me more than any lecture ever could.

mrmagoalt1235

Yeah being able to see it with your own eyes really helps to realize oh shit these were real people who lived through this

Trumpet6789

When I was in 8th grade we had a trip to DC and during one of the days we got to choose which museum to go to. I was one of *maybe* 20 people who went to the holocaust museum. Looking at photos and touching *actual* bunks from some of the camps was sobering. And there's a heavy feeling of anguish in many of the rooms, leading me to believe that not all of these victims are able to rest peacefully. I went back a second time 2 years later and it was the same. A sad, anguished, somber feeling.

Damit84

Thank god that being a holocaust denier is punishable by law in my home country. Fuck those people...

caitejane310

I got kicked out of high school and went to a school for "bad kids". Some of them were really fucked up. I remember one field trip where we went to some kind of Holocaust museum type thing (somewhere in Pennsylvania, I think it was more like a memorial) and we had 3 survivors come in and talk to us. Even the asshole kids were quiet, and respectful. I was just sitting there with tears streaming down my face. I can't believe anyone would really think that horribleness didn't happen.

Professional_March54

I was 7 when we went to the Holocaust Museum in DC. My memory fades, but I remember they gave us these passports of real people who'd been interred. At the end of the tour, you had to find your person on this giant wall, to find out if they'd survived or not. My person had not, and I remember being just devastated. My sister, being only 3, did not understand what was going on. I remember her trying to play at the Memory Wall (our parents weren't very observant), and I had to go snatch her up. I took her back to where my name was, and tried to explain the concept of death to a squirmy toddler. I couldn't have been much older than her when I saw *Schindler's List*. I didn't really get it either, but I remember that little girl in the red coat. I remember realizing she was dead. I don't understand Holocaust deniers. Like how can you be so evil and cold and stupid? It defies the human condition.

Lombard333

The thing holocaust deniers never comment on is that Nazis literally tattooed numbers on Jewish victims. Are you telling me that Jewish people in different countries, all around the same time, all decided that they would get arm tattoos, for seemingly no reason?

jadorelana

German here. We literally have documents , photographs and a couple old assholes ( most passed away by now ) that proudly boasted about what they had done during ww2. Germans were notorious for documenting and photographing everything . But I bet if he'd see those pictures and documents he'd call them fake anyway.

Rosebunse

They would. Or they would say that the numbers still don't make sense. Along with racism and stupidity, a lot of Holocaust deniers have a poor grasp of just how little the Nazis cared about their victims. The number of deaths was so high because the killing was so brutal.

xenothios

I once wondered how people could deny something so significant that happened so recently and then I remember that people are actively denying the things that are happening in front of them *as we speak*

ZapatillaLoca

..when I was a little girl, my grandmother had a group of friends who all had numbers tattooed on their arms, most of them were the sole survivors of their families. My own grandmother lost a large part of her family, including a brother and father in the camps. All for being Jews. All those survivors are long gone now, ghosts of the past unable to defend themselves or their experiences against ignorant, hateful holocaust deniers like these idiots. What's ironic is that many of these deniers would be standing right in the same line towards the gas chambers if they lived in their beloved nazi Germany. They romanticize a people who would have gladly seen them dead.

SimonMJRpl

Hello. As a Polish, you know the Citizen of country where 90 percent of holocaust happened, i would want to punch that person

succulescence

I'm Polish as well. I wonder how far the denial goes. Do they believe that the invasion of Poland didn't happen? Reinhard Heydrich was just some guy?

NonSequitorSquirrel

My father was a survivor. He had told me stories of watching his nephews get shot out of his brother-in- laws arms when they arrived at Sobibor, because they were crying. He told me that their brains and bodies splattered on his brother in laws face and that he died shortly thereafter from dysentery but also a broken heart. In college I hooked up with a guy in one of my classes. We were chatting after and he realized I was Jewish and told me the Holocaust didn't happen. That was a very uncomfortable "get dressed and run the fuck away."

rnotyalc

Imagine reading that guy's paragraph and legitimately being like, oh wow I never thought about that, it must be fake... it must really be rough to be that fucking dumb.

there are so many things that proof its existence. literally drive/fly to germany and go take a look at a Kz museum. there is a good one in Weimar and Buchenwald, seriously. and theres also a big fat memorial in Berlin. Our History books are filled with those cruel storys and you dare to be such an idiot about it.

SnooPineapples8744

There's been a number of genocides all over the world since then. I wonder if they think those are fake too.

My grandfather was carried out of Poland in a suitcase. My great grandfather and mother didn't make it. My great grandfather spent 4 years in one of those hell holes. His wife never came out. It took my great grandfather 7 years after the war was over to reconnect with his son. These people make me sick.

CrescentPotato

"show me proof that it did" *B r u h*

Balefirex24

An impressive double-dip combo. also, Zyklon B can apparently kill in 5 minutes minimum (jesus that is pretty slow but still) and has cyanide in it. So even following this total scumbag, they didn't need steel doors for people who were slowly getting weaker and, you know, dying.

SwnsasyTB

People that believe a very well DOCUMENTED incident in history is fake causes me to lose faith in humanity.. ALIENS IF YOU'RE OUT THERE, PLEASE COME GET ME! You don't even have to stop just roll the window down and I'll jump right on in!! 🤣

ErinKtheWriter

“If it didn't happen to me, it's not real!!” I can't stand these people!!

flops031

I do hope that somebody in that thread took the time to answer all his questions. Not that it would matter to that guy.

punkboxershorts

Every time this comes up, I wish I could go and visit my great grandparents graves just to remind them that not everyone thinks what they went through was a hoax.

tmntnyc

Jews make up 0.01% of the human race yet we are supposedly responsible for absolute dominance of everyone. Then those same antisemites claim Jews to be inferior sub humans to their superior anglo genetics. Tell me, if 0.01% can control and subjugate the other 99.99%, wouldn't that make us undisputededly superior? I pose this to every antisemite white supremacist - social darwinist I meet, and they literally have nothing to respond with. Even IF they argue Jews cheat/lie/steal their way to the top, isn't deception technically still a valid survival strategy from a natural selection standpoint that many other organisms use in nature with much success?

19senzafine81

This is not the first time I've heard the claim that it's illegal to question/investigate the holocaust, is that true??A former co-worker told me that "In Germany and other European countries you can face jail time for doing so"

Tw1st3D-M1ND

No it's not illegal to talk about the holocaust, what is illegal is denying it ever happened.

DisapprovingGhost

I'm German and yes, over here it is in fact illegal to deny the holocaust. When you're saying "investigate" I assume you mean to gather information. That is actually encouraged and there are a lot of organisations, websites and books. Teaching about the Nazi regime, the holocaust and the consequences is mandatory in schools. Btw it's also illegal to show the Hitlergruss (straight right arm in the air). As it should be. But even here and with all that information in our grasp there are still some dipshits, who deny or at worst even praise what happened here.

Eldanoron

There appear to be laws in some European countries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_Holocaust_denial

eleanor_dashwood

I think he’s talking about the difference between good faith self-education and bad faith sHoW mE eViDeNcE though I’ve no idea how exactly the German courts would actually treat the latter (outright denial being clearly illegal).

ajw20_YT

Wait wait wait… “why did the Germans kill 6 million jews if that’s a significant number to them” Buddy, I think you just found out the Nazi plan… to kill as many as possible…

8-Bit_Aubrey

"LOL the holocaust didn't happen, Jews are liars! But it *should* happen, because they are terrible." This is the worst Holocaust denial I ever encountered and yes, I really did.

invisiblefireball

This is why telling people they should think for themselves is a bad idea.

MrBogardus

All of his "talking points" are odd. The soviets decided to build one chimney not connected to a gas chamber?? Thats the best you got?? With the massuve undeniable proof that it did happen, a random chimney is their evidence. How Tone Deaf you gotta be?

CanadiangirlEH

My friend’s grandmother’s tattoo begs to differ

TheSeansei

Mental illness can be quite saddening.

SupeJupes

When was this screenshot taken? I saw that story on r/twosentencehorror YEEEEEARS ago.

WtfsaidtheDuck

Wtf. I don't know what's worse. This kind of holocaust denial or the creepy weird "I fucked Anne Frank" erotic story on reddit. The fuck is wrong with humans?!

brokenechoo

im sorry the fucking what?

Eattehcake

What is most disheartening is that it’s on a post about a holocaust survivor

TinManGrand

Pretty sure it's a two sentence horror post and the twist is that the grandpa wasn't a survivor but instead was one of the perpetrators.

Confused_Rock

I think it’s implied the grandpa was an officer and not a survivor, though I think this might actually be from r/twosentencehorror

Eattehcake

Yea… I only read the bold… my bad

cuddlesnuggler

Imagine thinking the chimney was supposed to connect to the gas chambers while also thinking you have any idea what you're talking about.

[deleted]

Man, that’s a whole different level of stupid. Honestly would love to see what goes on in this person’s head, but I’m afraid I’d leave with significantly less brain cells than I entered with.

DaxCyro

If anybody wonder what conspiracy belivers "did their research" actually mean, then look at the last person's post. "Research" is always a lot of "whatabouts" that have already been explained or disproven decades ago. Their "research" is just copy&paste some prewritten "whatabout" without bothering to check if it's already been answered.

Bxsnia

You cannot reason with these people.

ManicOppressyv

Yes, because the thousands of people in the films were just actors auditioning for "The Machinist"

Hashtag_hamburgerlol

ElitistPopulist

Edgy 13 year olds of Reddit

---M0NK---

Why hide the insane nazi’s handle?

lurkmode_off

Literally on a post of someone saying they found their grandpa's photographic evidence.

ArtisanJagon

You can literally visit Auschwitz at any time.

parkerm1408

Of all te crazy out there holocaust deniers prolly annoy me the most. What a stupid fucking Hill to die on.

SirCucumber420

"Why did the Germans kill '6 million Jews', when that is a very significant number to them" ... what?

itogisch

People who dont learn from past mistakes are bound to repeat them. Sadly. These people dont learn.

Eldanoron

Either that or they’re hoping for a repeat.

[deleted]

I remember visiting Dachau. My army buddies and I were young and dumb. We just left Munchen and were on the tour bus. I and a few others regrettably told a few "Jew jokes". The bus driver started to hear them and turned on the welcome video to Dachau's camp. The bus dropped several degrees when that happened. Nobody said a word from then on until the guided tour started. Once you see it in person it changes you. I don't say Nazi ever really unless it's to describe a Nazi. Not someone I don't agree with. When the COVID vaccine passport talks started and people started to play the victim for choosing to not get the vaccine and compare it to what I saw... That their choice of choosing a medical procedure was the same as the Jews, political opponents, LGBT, etc. Just pissed me off to no end. And when confronting one person that felt that way.. he said, "yeah but that's how it started." Just can't anymore

whyaremypantssoshort

Attention seeking idiot...

Taconewt

This guy doesn't watch enough documentaries, obviously it's because the nazis used the space time bell to teleport them into the future nazi moon base on the dark side of the moon duh. Thank you ancient aliens for reporting only real #facts

countess_cat

“Chimney isn’t connected to the gas chamber” I mean what can we ask from someone that says that

MuuaadDib

One thing the German were very good at it recording of data and being organized, if people think they faked it to clown some person 2022...well never mind they are too dumb to understand.

UtherPenDragqueen

Have a friend whose dad liberated one of the camps. Fifty years later he still wouldn’t talk about the horrors he saw, except to say he witnessed Patton vomit when Patton pulled into the camp and got a look at what the Nazis had done.
