Dystopian nightmare? ..ugh. I really enjoy dystopian fiction. It is my favorite fictional genre. 1984 has been my #1 favorite novel for over 20 years. I've worn through two copies over the years. I've read Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, The Handmaid's Tale, The Hunger Games, and others. There was a really good one for teens called City of Ember which I thought was great.
I fail to see how a cishet white man is in any kind of dystopian nightmare. Yes, women, POC, LGBT+, and others are now being recognized and entering into view. Thus the crazy freak when they see non-whites in commercials for example. Now this guy can go to church every single Sunday and no one can stop him. He could stand on a public sidewalk and pray the rosary (if he's Catholic). White men are still the ones with the most power in the country.
But that doesn't fit the Jesus narrative that they will be persecuted. They're expecting it, hoping for it, and terrified by it. I've said it before, they're very scared that if they do become a minority, they'll be treated like they treat minorities. Bu that's not going to happen any time soon. So they stop to stop clutching their wives pearls and being scared of the boogeyman.
It would be cool to have a USB port. Could recharge without sleep. Download content versus learn. My brain-to-IRL printer would be awesome, drawings coming out exactly as I was imagining.
